Chapter 2 - Kuse
Shoyo Hinata was in his back yard practicing bouncing and balancing his volleyball. It was always something that always calmed him down.
I'm 18 now and this is my third year. Why do I not have my second nature yet? He just got back from a doctor visit. Each year you have to have a physical done to make sure you are healthy enough for sports. No school wanted to get blamed for a student getting hurt without proving they took all the necessary steps to prevent it.
But each year they call him an 'unknown'. " Uhhhh…. Why?" he said out loud. This is the year to look at universities to play at. But he doubted that a university is going to want an 'unknown' on their team.
Coach Keishin Ukai and Ittetsu Takeda said not to worry. That it was my skills that the teams would look at. But Hinata knew that most of the schools only wanted alphas. "Ahhhhhhhhh."
After a while his stomach started to hurt.
Man, that's been happening a lot lately. I'm not hungry and I haven't eaten anything questionable. My parents and sister have been out of town the last few days. And, I have only been eating instant food. Maybe it's just getting to me. They should be back in another week. Just in time for school to start up again.
They wanted Hinata to join them for the family outing, but he wanted to stay and get some more practice in before he started the new year.
He went inside and started thinking about taking a shower to get ready for tonight. He was so excited to see everyone from his first year. He wished he could talk them into playing a set tonight. But he knew that probably wasn't going to happen.
He made it as far as the living room then pain in his abdomen and side forced him down on the ground. It was so intense he just leaned back against the couch on the floor.
Reaching up he felt his forehead, he was burning up. Great, he thought to himself. Tired, fever and stomach pain. Of all the times to get sick.
He didn't want to cancel tonight because he had been looking forward to this night all week. He knew he would hate himself if he got anyone else sick. Picking up his phone he texted Coach Keishin Ukai letting him know he was sick.
Hinata- Hello coach. I'm sorry I haven't been feeling well these last few days. I don't think I can make it tonight.
Ukia- Are you ok? Do you need me to drop off anything? I know your parents are out of town.
Hinata- No. I'm ok. But thank you sensei.
Ukia- I know you wouldn't have cancelled on tonight unless you really needed too. Take your time to rest up. Take tomorrow off practice too. I want you rested and back on your feet when we start school in another week.
Hinata- Thank you sensei. Please tell the other sorry for me.
The pain had subsided a little. So, he thought he should try to get up and head for bed. Maybe after resting a little, he'll be fine by morning. He really didn't want to miss practice. That was the whole reason he didn't go with his family.
He plugged his phone in by his bed and went to the bathroom to wash up and take some medicine. He made it to the bathroom when another wave hit him. Gasping out loud he fell to the bathroom floor.
He was burning up everywhere. His abdomen just kept shooting off constant pain. Hinata laid on the bathroom floor unable to move. The cold tile did feel good against his hot skin. However, he knew that this wasn't right. He tried to get up.
If I can just reach my phone, I can call for help. But when he tried to get up the pain sent him back to the ground. Holding on to his sides he cried out in pain.
What is happening?
His hips started to rock and a strong desire to be taken popped in his head. He knew most guys joke about sex and being horny. But since his second nature had never come through, he never really had those desires before.
Then it clicked in his head. Is that what's going on? Am I getting my second nature?
No betas aren't supposed to go through this. But he didn't feel like an alpha. Then realization slowly hitting him.
I'm going through heat. I'm an omega!
"Ahhhhhhh" more pain hit him. He started to feel something wet dripping from between his legs. Pressure just kept building.
Maybe if I rub it, it will help. But the longer he laid on the floor the harder it got to think straight.
"Shhh its ok. I'm here" a voice said.
But Hinata was alone and couldn't see anyone.
"It will be ok. My name is Kuse. I won't leave you."
"Who are you" Hinata was scared, and the pain just kept growing. He tried taking off his pants, but the farthest he could get was down around his knees. He squeezed his eyes tight and tried to think of anything else.
When he opened his eyes, it was like he was in an all-black room, not his house. He tried to scream but nothing came from his mouth. He was terrified. That's when he saw it. A wolf laying on the ground next to him. A beautiful orange colored wolf with a little bit of white on the tip of his tail. Scared auburn-colored eyes looked up at him.
Hesitantly the wolf came over to him and rubbed is nose to Hinata's. "It's very nice to finally meet you. Don't worry, I won't ever leave you alone. I know it hurts and I wish I could take the pain from you."
"Unfortunately, only an alpha can truly help with the pain. But don't worry, we will find a good mate."
Kuse tried to give comfort to the scared little human. But knew he could only do so much. He had been watching over Hinata from the beginning. He tried so hard for the boy to hear him. But, as the years passed by, he still couldn't hear him. It felt like they would never get to talk.
But now he can hear me. I am at long last connected to my human! He was so excited. He didn't want him to be in pain but knew when this was over then they could really connect.
Hinata didn't know how long he laid there on the floor. Time just started blurring together. No matter how much he rubbed and grind the pain wouldn't go away. The heat felt like it was frying his brain and all he could do was wait it out. Kuse kept trying to talk to him but nothing he said made any since.
Then suddenly Kuse started jumping for joy and was very excited. Hinata didn't understand what was going on.
Then he heard a bang and when he looked up, he was staring at the most shocking blue eyes he'd ever seen.
