Chapter 16
As the Hunters got into the area where the large boulders were blocking the leva but no sight of the Tetsukabura yet. As they walked up to take a closer look at the boulders a pack of Jaggi jumped out surrounding the Hunters. Some were standing on a ledge somewhere standing next to an underground stream that ran deeper into the volcano hunting ground. As two jumped at Saachi she got her sword unsheathed and slash at the two, knocking them to the ground. As they pulled themself up just to get an arrow shot straight through them from Night's new iron bow. Night turned around to see a Jaggi lung at her tempting to lock its sharp teeth into her neck just to have it cut down out of the air from Salim. The two hunters got most of the Jaggis killed, just two were still standing in the way. One of the Jaggis jumped up at Saachi. Then a large monster jumped out of the rocky ground eating the two Jaggis one after the other with its red-brown back with black tips on the end of the scales that linked its body with blue running down its hind legs that sat like a large toad. It had a large thick tail that had small spikes sticking out of it that was a dark gray. It must have heard Night drew an arrow back and was ready to release it but was stopped by Saachi holding her hand out, as it turned around to face the hunters. It had two huge tusks on the lower jaw with a sand-tan lower jaw that ran onto its underbelly. Its deep blue eyes looked straight at Saachi with its small horns above it.
It just let out a gassy burp into her face forcing her to take a step back to she was standing next to her hunting partner, swishing her hand back and forward trying to get the stink away. " aww man the stinks, Salim see if you can get a trap under it to give me enough time to get on to it's back." She told the palico not sure if he would take her request. The palico nodded his head and sprinted in. She turned her glance to Night and told her "when I get it to fall over, use your Dragon Piercer to throw its head, should bring It down or at least wound it badly."
Saachi looked back to see the Tetsukabura was being shocked from Salim's trap and sprinted over jumping off the ledge grabbing onto two of the scales that lined it back getting her hunting knife out to stab it. As the trap wound out, letting the Tetsukabura free with her still on its back. It jumped into the air landing on its back just missing the hunter. Rolling onto its side as it kicked its toad-like legs pulling itself up again as it moved its head to have Saachi back facing her hunting partner. She was about to stab it for the last time to bring it to the ground just to have one of Night's arrows nearly missing her shoulder and hand-making her lose her grip. She was sent flying just over the edge of a cliff that fell a long way down into another area of the hunting ground, she just managed to get hold of the very edge with her finger. She tries to get good footing on the cliff face but keeps losing it when she gets a grip on the rock face. As she uses her upper body strength to pull herself up she could use her arms as anchors to hold her body to see the Tetsukabura had a large stone boulder in the lower tusks that was ready to smash onto her. She looked down just to see the smoke covering so she could not tell how far the ground was. As the Tetsukabura lifted its head she had seen two sticky ammo from a bowgun that landed on the Tetsukabura face blow up a few minutes after it landed on it to make the boulder drop. Saachi could see a crack running along the right tusk.
The Tetsukabura turned in the way of what she could see Blue sliding in as he reloaded an old western rifle-looking light bowgun. As he finished his sliding reload he fired off two more sticky ammo off landing on the large toad blowing it up again making it flee deeper into the hunting ground. She could feel her arms getting weaker as she started to struggle to pull herself up onto the top of the cliff. Blue ran over, slipping his arms under hers and pulling her up. "Are you all right?" He asked to move some of her hair away from her face.
She nodded her head to wrap her arms around the back of his neck pulling him into a kiss. "Yes thank you." She glanced down at his arm to see the Caravan logo on, she smiled at him and kissed him on the cheek. "You join the Caravan."
He caressed her cheek pulling her in until their foreheads touched one another. "Oh, of course, I did, to be with my love." Before Saachi could say anything, Night walked up with her arms crossed in front of her with her now still out. Blue glanced over to the mask-wearing hunter who was putting her bow onto her back. He got to his feet and glared at her. "You should stop just thinking about yourself and start to think about others when you're hunting. It's not just about the glory of the hunt." He told her puffing his chest out a little as she spoke to her.
Night grudgingly, taking what he said and replying to him, "I will keep that in mind next time, thank you" scrolling from under her mask. Just to feel her palico pawing at her leg knowing what he was going to say. "I don't want to hear, Salim." She told her gray palico.
She looked back at the man that was standing in front of her as he asked. "What is your name?" He looked at her waiting for her to say something back to him.
It took a will but she finally said back to him in a very harsh way "my name is Night and this here is my palico Salim, what is your name?" Salim pawed himself knowing this is not the best way to act in front of a new partner and maybe a new friend.
Blue did not like to see that this hunter was giving him attitude. "I'm Blue, Saachi boyfriend, the hunter you nearly killed with your arrow." She did not say anything back to him as she started to head down in the corridor. Blue turns his head seeing Saachi dusting herself off before going the same way as Night and Salim walking by Blue. He walked by her side as they walked into a small chamber with a large crystal in the middle. Blue put one of his hands onto Saachi's shoulder, she turned her head to him, he was fixed on her blue eyes and the light shine off the large crystal making them look like they were glowing. "I don't want her hunting with us until she learns to work with us." As Saachi opened her mouth to say something before Blue cut her off. "She could have killed you if you were just over two inches to the right."
Saachi just gave a soft smile before she told him "she did not hit me with her arrow and I have forgiven her for the close call since it was an accident and we all need to learn to work with each other even if it takes a while. After all, we are stronger together than doing things by ourselves." She kisses him before she walks to a large open space with her and Blue has seen Night already fighting the Tetsukabura with two large boulders that have already been placed as she hides behind one. Salim was jumping to slice with his sword.
The Tetsukabura flying to the side as Salim's sword cuts into the thick scaly hide just to be hit away with a boulder that was thrown from the Tetsukabura. It dug its lower jaw scooping out another boulder and jumped straight for Night as she got another arrow ready to shut off. The Tetsukabura lunch, using the boulder breaking the boulder that Night was hidden, sending her flying back. As she hit the floor she fired the arrow off getting into the small crack. The Tetsukabura let the boulder go as it let out a loud bellow of discomfort forcing Night to cover her ears as she was still holding onto her bow. Blue and Saachi both jumped down running in to lend their aid to the partner. Blue stopped a little ahead of Night firing off a few rounds off before he had to reload as Saachi ran headfirst straight at the Tetsukabura unsheathing her sword cutting into the wounded tusk breaking it off the base of the lower jaw. The Tetsukabura shocked its head as it turned its focus onto the sword-wielding hunter that was standing in front of it. It dug its lower jaw into the ground scooping up a smaller boulder out crushing the boulder in its jaws. Saachi lifted her shield, blocking the incoming rocks that were sent flying from the Tetsukabura's powerful jaws. She could feel the large rocks smash into her shield just to see the tusk hooking under her shield launching her up into the air just to land on the ground on her back knocking the wind out of her. She laid on the ground gasping for air to see the Tetsukabura's front lags land on both sides of her. Is it about to ram its jaw down onto her then out of nowhere, two sticky ammos came flying in sticking to its face, blowing it up again knocking down with Blue and Night both fire normal ammo and arrows into it? Saachi quickly rolled onto her feet and rushed in to attack the underbelly of the down Tetsukabura getting a few good slices in before it kicked her away pulling itself up just to flee further into the volcano hunting ground. Saachi watched as Tetsukabura dug away to hear Blue bickering at Night, just to roll her eyes. "Okay you guys, we need to pick up its trail again." She calmly said to the two hunters.
As they move on with Saachi in the lead to a very large area with a large cliff with the small hot stream running down leading into another area which she could barely see from the lair of smoke covering it. She quickly dropped to the ground as she saw it come out of the ground and slowly started to walk over with a little limp from Blue's normal shots wrecking one hind leg. Blue and Night both come onto the side of her as they had seen Tetsukabura limping. Night slightly pulled herself up getting her bow off her back as she pulled one of her arrows out. She got herself up into a sitting poster and was about to fire it off just to be pinned on the ground from Saachi. "Get off of me." She hissed at her just to have Saachi putting her finger to her mouth telling her to be quick and she pointed to another monster walking into the area. The T-rex-looking monster had a great sword-like tail that was so hot that it looked like it was going to melt off as it scraped along the ground and the cliff wall. As the monster walked closer they could see the dark purple and red mix with hard spicks lining along its back.
It turned its head looking at the cliff that the hunting party was hiding on to look straight at the Tetsukabura letting a roar out, making the Tetsukabura flinch and the hunters covering their ears. It wiped its tail into its jaws and like the whetstones that the hunters use to sharpen their weapons it sharpens its tail before slicing into the Tetsukabura. Tetsukabura put up a fight against the monster but as its last tusk got broken off from the monster slicing tail, it limped away into the area they could not see from the walk of smoke. "That is a Glavenus. We are not clipped enough to take that on." Blue told them as it was the only thing blocking the way.
Saachi pulled herself up off Night and quickly looked into her pouch. Seeing she only had five mega positions and seven normal positions she looked at Blue and Night. "I will get it to chase me and lead it away, while you two finish off the Tetsukabura. If I get away from the Glavenus I will come and join in again, if not I will see you guys back at camp." Saachi felt Blue pull her in and give her a kiss, she could feel the sorrow coming from him knowing she will be going on her own. "I will be ok." She kissed Blue back before she got up and jumped, landing so the Glavenus could see her. It turned its head as she pulled herself up as it slowly walked up to her. She could hear her heartbeat in her ears as the large T-Rex looking monster took a step closer to her before she started to sprint with the Glavenus closing in on her. She ran as fast her feet could take her just to have the sounds of the monster's feet stomping behind her as she just missed its slicing tail as it slams it into the ground. She ran into an area that is covered with a large web with the Glavenus following close back. As the Glavenus stamped on the web as it was to focus on the hunter that it did not notice a large spider monster called a Nersclla that webbed it as it pulled it closer to it just to get it stinger filled of a potent sleeping vedim injected into it forcing it to fall asleep as the Nersclla pulled it into its upper chamber. Saachi did not want to wait around for the large spider to finish up whatever it was doing to the Glavenus so she started to head back to her hunting party. As she made it where she split from the group she was clamping on to her side as a sharp pain shot threw her body. She lifted her hand off to see her hand was covered with blood. "Shit, it must have got me without me knowing." She dug into her pouch grabbing a mega position out and drinking it up, numbing the pain for a while for her to regroup with her party.
She could see Blue and Night just finish up killing the Tetsukabura off. As it let out one last roar out before it clapped to the ground the two hunters started to carve from it. Blue looked up from his last carve to see Saachi walking with a little bit of a limp as she put weight on the side that got cut open forcing some blood to run from as it made a blood trail behind her. "Sach, you are wounded."
Saachi gives him a kiss on the lips and replies "I am fine, the tail just barely got me. When we get back to the town I will stitch up my wound." She turned her glance to Night seeing that it was her arrow that got the last hit on the Tetsukabura. "That was a good job but we have to blow up the rock that is blocking the leva to the town." She turns to lead the way back with Blue, Night and her palico Salim following behind her.
