Chapter 28 - A Very Supernatural Christmas

Persie was very nervous.

The Winchester brothers were going to meet her family. Not just her Uncle B, but this time- it was going to be her entire family.

She hoped that having Annabeth, Jason, Nico, and Uncle B there would be a help, but she also knew that both Estelle and her mom both had very outgoing personalities and could be a lot for the two. They were definitely about to get a whole lotta mothering, that was for sure.

Persie knew her mom couldn't help herself.

Especially now that she had accidentally let it slip that they were orphans- or was that Uncle B?- they were going to be in for one hell of a time.

They had driven through the night, taking them around 10 hours to get to Manhattan, where her mom lived. Luckily she knew a good parking spot for Baby that was free for the building's residents.

It was Christmas Eve morning by the time they made it there, and Persie, Nico, Sam, and Dean were all standing in front of her mom's apartment door.

"Are we really going to have this discussion, again?" Nico asked Persie from behind her.

Dean interpreted her nerves as not being completely truthful about her experiences with the brothers or possibly not even informing her mother that she has been traveling with two strange men. But Bobby would've told her about them, wouldn't he?

"Do your mother and stepfather know about us?" Sam asked, having been on the same brain-wave as Dean.

Persie nodded mindlessly. "And Stelle, too."

"Stelle?"

Dean nudged his brother in the side. "That's her lil' sister."

"Ah."

"Just knock on the door, Seaweed Brain," Nico spoke, crossing his arms.

She rolled her eyes, took a step forward, and knocked twice. Then, she quickly gave Nico the finger before turning back around to wait and see who was up and at 'em this early in the morning.

"The door! The door! The door!"

Persie blinked. Yep, that was definitely her sister.

"Estelle, get back here right now!"

And that was her mom.

"I'm gonna get the door!"

"No you're not!"

"Watch me!"

Sam let out a small chuckle. "Let me guess, that's your sister?"

Persie nodded. "Obviously."

When the door opened, a tiny human was standing there with a wide, toothy grin.

It was nearly impossible for Persie to try and keep a straight face, and the others immediately smiled back at the little girl. "Did mom say you could open the door, Stellie?"

Her tiny eyes widened a fraction before she nodded her head. "Yep."

Persie saw her mom come rushing to the door and winked at the older woman before turning back to her sister. "Are you sure?"

Estelle went up onto her tip-toes then back onto her heels, biting her lip. "Uh… maybe?"

"Maybe isn't the same thing you said before," She pointed out, bending down and giving her sister a stern look. "You know you can't open the door without an adult with you, right?"

The young girl bit her lip again and nodded. "Mhm."

"Will you make sure you don't open the door without mommy or daddy again?"

She blinked. "What about you or Uncle B or Nee-Nee or Annabeth or Jay or-"

Persie held back laughter as she spoke, "That's what I meant when I said adult, kiddo. Do you promise me you won't open the door without an adult?"

Estelle sighed, looking down at her feet. "But I like opening the door."

"But what if it's someone you don't know?"

She sighed again. "Okay, fine. I promise."

Persie narrowed her eyes and held out her pinky. "Pinky promise?"

She did her best to wrap her small pinky around her older sister's. "Pinky promise."

The Daughter of Poseidon shared a secret smile with her sister before standing back up at her full height with a groan. "Now that's sorted, guess who I brought along with me this time?"

Estelle's eyes widened again, this time in delight. "Sam and Dean?!" She looked at the two tall men standing next to her sister. "They're tall."

The Winchesters shared a look and chuckled at the younger girl.

Sally immediately took over and walked up behind her youngest and patted her head before moving on to hug Persie, and giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before pulling both Winchesters into a large hug. "Welcome to our home, all of you."

They both looked extremely awkward, making Persie let out a snort. "Mom, maybe you should let us all get inside before you try to hug them to death?"

She quickly released them and hopped back with a sheepish smile. "Of course, come on in, all of you," she told them, opening the door wider to let them in. "And Nico you too, don't go disappearing on us, now."

Sam and Dean seemed to be in a slight awe at the family dynamic as they walked in, and immediately took off their shoes after Estelle told them they had to or her mommy would get mad.

Persie looked at her sister curiously. "Do you know which one is older?"

Estelle looked between the two brothers with suspicious eyes, before pointing to Sam. "This one."

"This one's name is Sam," Persie told her.

"Sam."

"Wrong!"

Estelle gasped, bringing her hands to her mouth in extreme shock. "But he's tall!"

Sally smiled down at her youngest. "That doesn't always mean he'll be the oldest, darling."

"But… but he's the taller one!"

Nico rolled his eyes and walked over to the kitchen. "I'm going to go eat some food, Mrs. Blofis."

Sally looked over at the goth boy with motherly affection. "Of course you are, but if you don't start calling me Sally I'm going to start holding off on making your favorites, do you hear me?"

His eyes widened before he made it through the door to the kitchen, and he quickly nodded. "Yes, Sally, of course."

Persie let out a laugh as he then quickly scurried into the kitchen. "I don't know how you do it, mom."

"I'm pretty sure it's from all the years of practice you gave her, kiddo," Paul spoke as he walked up to them from the living room. He gave Persie a quick hug before catching Estelle in his arms and sized up the Winchesters. "You must be the young men I've heard so much about."

Persie felt her face heat up at the knowing looks that the brothers gave her. "Wait, I only really talked to mom about them-"

"I've been having frequent talks with Bobby about what you've been up to since you went out there," Paul said, raising a brow at Dean. "And I must say he speaks especially high of the Winchesters."

He then held out a hand toward Dean, and Persie nearly fell over when she saw the smirk on her stepdad's face. He knew exactly what was going on. "Nice to meet you, I'm Paul Blofis."

Dean shook his hand with a grin. "I'm Dean Winchester, but you probably already knew that."

Paul shrugged and turned and shook Sam's hand as well. "So I'm guessing you must be Sam?"

"Yes, I am."

"Sam I am!" Estelle exclaimed, laughing loudly after her joke. "Sam I am, Sam I am-"

"Sam likes ham," Persie added, winking at the younger Winchester. "He also likes puzzles, too. Do you want to show him your Little Mermaid puzzle?"

Dean smiled over at Persie. "Little Mermaid?"

"I had no influence what-so-ever," she deadpanned.

Estelle wriggled down from her father's grip and held a hand out to the giant Sam. "Come on, Sam-I-Am, we're gonna go do puzzles."

The small girl dragged the giant behind her, both of them grinning as they walked around the corner.

Now, Paul and Sally stood in the entryway with Persie and Dean in silence, but everyone seemed to be looking at each other with a certain understanding.

Persie wasn't so sure she liked it. What was her mom thinking? And what exactly did Uncle B tell Paul?

"This is a nice place, you have here," Dean said awkwardly.

Sally beamed. "Oh, you're too kind." She looked at Paul, who was eyeing the younger man suspiciously. "Paul, do you want to go check on Nico and make sure he didn't run away in there?"

Paul looked between Sally, Persie, and Dean, and had a sudden realization. "Oh, uh… yeah, I'll go do that."

After he walked away, Sally merely crossed her arms and looked between the two with a small smile. "So, do the two of you have anything to tell me?"

Persie furrowed her brows. "Uh… Merry Christmas?"

If Sally wasn't above the facepalm, that definitely would've been a moment to do one. "Persephone Jackson, are you really-"

"That oblivious?" Dean offered, rubbing the back of his neck.

Sally nodded.

"Then yes, she is." Dean finished. "I actually thought she was just trying to avoid it altogether, but I quickly learned that she really just had no idea what was going on."

Persie gapped. "Are the both of you actually teaming up on me?"

Sally nodded solemnly, before giving Dean a pointed look. "Well, I think you both need some hot cocoa. Let me go grab some."

And then she went through the door to the kitchen, too.

How many people could actually fit in there?

"Persie," Dean spoke, looking down at her intently. "Even your mom-"

She smiled. "Knows that I have feelings for you?"

He gulped. "Yeah."

"She's actually quite perceptive. It still catches me off guard, sometimes," she admitted, wringing her hands together.

Dean leaned down slowly, knowing if he did this too quickly- too soon, then he would scare her off for good. "Why are you hiding it from me?"

Persie looked down at her socked feet. "I'm not hiding anything."

He raised his brows. "You just pretended in front of your mother that you were oblivious to my feelings for you."

"Well, I kinda figured you liked me when you practically told me you wanted to have sex with me when we were looking for the hand of glory, not to mention how crazy over protective you keep being. And kissing me on the forehead and the cheek and being-"

"Seph," Dean whispered, lowering his head even closer to her own.

She blinked. "What?"

"Shut up for a second, kay?"

Her brows furrowed. "What do you-mmph!"

His lips had finally met hers.

She smiled into the kiss, grabbed his shoulders, and pulled him in closer.

In that moment, the world could've burned, and Persie wouldn't have cared.

She was exactly where she needed to be- in Dean's arms.

.

.

.

Persie started to realize she had been duped once Dean pulled out of her reach and peered into the kitchen to tell her mom and Paul that it was safe to come out, now.

"Okay, what in Hades's Underpants is going on, here?" She asked, crossing her arms as her mom and Paul walked out of the kitchen sheepishly.

"I figured you'd need some time with him without the rest of us surrounding you to figure things out," her mom admitted. "Sometimes all these things need is a little alone time."

"But not too much alone time," Paul corrected, narrowing his eyes at Dean.

Sally smacked his arm. "Don't be like that, Persie is an adult now."

"Nope. Not happening under our roof."

Persie nearly choked. "Uh, yeah, not a good topic, Paul."

Dean pulled her into his side. "When is Bobby coming?"

Persie could've kissed him again for the interruption. Her mom immediately lit up at the mention of her brother in law. "He is supposed to be arriving just before dinner," she said, leaning into Paul happily.

"Perfect," Persie said. "Are we going to be watching Christmas movies for the rest of the day then?"

Dean squeezed her side. Chick-Flicks. She knows that the man hates them, but if he was going to spend some time with her, he better learn how to tolerate some nice Hallmark Christmas Movies.

"What else would we do?" Her mom asked, giving her a knowing smile.

"Uh… make some cookies?" Dean tried.

Persie laughed. "Nice try, Hot-Shot. My mom, Stelle, and I already made about four dozen cookies yesterday so you're in for a treat."

He looked down at her with wide eyes. "Four… dozen?"

She nodded excitedly. "Which means you can watch some movies with us and then eat some of those later." She patted his belly. "But first you should probably eat something that's not gas station food or cookies."

Her mom took that as a personal message. "Oh no, we can't have that," she said, before grabbing Dean's arm and yanking him toward the kitchen. "You can find something with Nico- oh, I suppose Sam is going to need something too, maybe some sandwiches? Does that sound good to you?"

"Yeah, that'd be… that'd be great." Dean looked at her with wide eyes as he let himself be led away.

Persie had to press her lips together to keep herself from falling apart in laughter.

Damn, it was obvious the Winchesters needed someone like her mom, and now that was happening it was a great sight to see.

"Your mom is a natural mother," Paul said, watching the two enter the kitchen with a sappy smile on his face. "She literally can't help herself."

She shrugged. "I think it's a great problem to have. It keeps all my misfit friends coming back, after all."

He let out a snort. "Nico is still shoving food in his mouth. You definitely do know how to make friends with the good ones."

"Wait and see who Estelle starts to bring home," Persie said, wiggling her brows. "Who knows, maybe she'll be boy-crazed, or girl-crazed, or maybe even both, depending on what she prefers."

Paul let out a groan. "Nope. Not happening. She's never growing up."

She clapped him on the back. "We'll see about that."

After her mom decided to feed everyone sandwiches, the rest of the day was spent in watching Hallmark Christmas Movies all cuddled up together on the couches. Estelle demanded she be between "Sam-I-Am" and Persie, while Persie cozied up next to Dean.

Sally and Paul took the time to just relax with each other and watch as their daughters blossomed under the affection of the Winchester boys.

Sam absolutely doted on Estelle, and Persie figured that one day he'd be a really good dad. Or an uncle.

Which made her stomach roll at the thought.

When Bobby showed up just before dinner as Persie's mom said he would, he simply smiled, hugged the two girls before looking at the boys and muttering, "Idjits."

All was well.

Sally had made a massive feast, considering Nico had shadow traveled back to the apartment with Annabeth and Jason, as neither of them had plans for Christmas anyway. Sure, Annabeth had gotten closer to her dad and stepmom after the first war, but she still didn't feel entirely welcome.

Jason, on the other hand, didn't have a family aside from his godly side, and he and Piper had broken up. Thalia was gods knew where now with the hunters, who didn't have time to celebrate the holidays. So, of course Sally made sure he had a place to go for the holidays.

If she didn't think it would be a little awkward, Persie would've invited him to go along for the ride with the Winchesters and hunt monsters- but sometimes it's easier to just stay away from that side of her past.

At least, for now, anyway.

Jason was pattering Uncle B with questions as they ate the feast, with Sam and Annabeth adding their two-sense every so often. Paul and Sally were chatting amongst each other, while Estelle kept grabbing onto Sam's hand, demanding his attention.

To Persie it seemed like Estelle saw Annabeth as a threat to her Sam-I-Am, and demanded to sit in between the two at the table.

Dean placed his hand on Persie's knee nearly halfway through the meal, making her squirm in her seat. "Can you not?" she mumbled, before taking a bite of the green beans.

He smiled. "I can't, actually."

She rolled her eyes.

Every so often she would find Dean smiling over at Sam with a far-away look in his eyes, and finally she had to ask. "What is it?"

"This is nice," he admitted. "We've never had this before."

Persie felt a small smile form across her face. "Well, you better get used to it, because you're not going anywhere. My mom has officially locked her claws into the two of you so you're stuck with us now."

He stiffened.

She squeezed his hand that was holding onto her leg. She knew exactly where his mind went. "We're going to get through this, Dean," she told him softly. "We can do anything as long as we stick together."

He let out a low sigh as he nodded slowly. "I can't help but feel… as though this is our last time all together."

Persie felt something prick behind her eyes, and she blinked aggressively to keep it at bay. "You can forget that, Dean. You're stuck with me now, and I'm never letting you go."

He chuckled. "That's possessive."

She smirked. "You like it."

His hand turned to lace his fingers with hers. "You know I do, sweetheart."

The next morning, presents were by the tree- not just for Persie and Estelle, but for everyone, including Persie's friends, who had spent the night on air mattresses.

"How did they get here?" Nico asked.

"You sleep like the dead," Annabeth told him, punching his arm. "Of course it went unnoticed by you."

Estelle happily handed the presents off to each person, giggling with joy at the shock that crossed Sam and Dean's faces when they found out they had been included, too.

"Silly Sam-I-Am, of course Santa knows you're here, he knows where everyone is!" She cheered, handing him a present. "See? It says to Sam from Santa. Mommy told me that's how to spell your name."

Sally winked over at the brothers. "Santa knows everything, boys."

Dean let out a chuckle from where he sat in between Sam and Persie at the foot of the couch. "Yes ma'am."

They went through the presents slowly as Estelle started tearing through her large pile of them. Annabeth, Persie, Bobby, and her parents had all gotten her a bunch of presents, Persie making sure to wrap as much as she could separately so the younger girl had more to open.

Sometimes it didn't matter if the present was socks, as long as it was another present she could rip open and squeal in delight at.

Persie watched as Sam and Dean opened their own gifts, and smiled at the nice Carhart jacket her mom and Paul had gotten Sam. "It's extra long, too," Sally pointed out, telling Sam to check the tag. "I made sure of it once Persie told me how tall you were."

Sam blinked in his shock, and Annabeth smiled and patted his shoulder. "You'll get used to it," she told him.

He shook his head. "Somehow I doubt that."

Dean opened up his present and looked at it with slight hesitation, paging through the blank sheets of paper with wide eyes.

"It's so you can write your own journal," Paul commented, as Sally leaned into his side. "Bobby told me about how you and Sam used your dad's old journal so much, I figured it's about time you start one of your own."

Persie grinned over at her parents.

"I… thank you, this means a lot," Dean said, holding onto the brown leather-bound journal tightly. "And pens, too. You guys thought through it all-" he looked at Estelle who had stopped making such loud excited noises, "Uh, I mean Santa really thought it through."

Sam chuckled at his side. "Good job, way to learn after last time."

Persie gaped at the oldest Winchester. "Did you really-"

"Enjoy the gift Santa gave me?" Dean cut her off, looking at her pointedly. "Heck yeah I did."

Bobby opened a new set of fishing gear, and a new fishing hat from Persie, which made him throw her a wink and say she always was his favorite oldest niece.

"But she's your only oldest niece," Estelle exclaimed. "I thought I was the favorite!"

Bobby choked. "Well, yeah, you're my favorite youngest niece." As Sam and Dean started to laugh at the predicament he found himself in, he glared at the two of them before adding, "And the two of you are still idjits."

"Idjits!" Estelle exclaimed, making everyone but Sally start to laugh at the glee in her voice. "Idjits, idjits, idjits!"

"Now you did it," Sally grumbled, before telling her youngest that wasn't a nice word to say, much to her confusion.

"Then why does Uncle Bobby say it to Sam-I-Am and Dean-O?"

"Sam-I-Am?" Annabeth asked, looking at Sam in amusement.

Meanwhile, Persie did the same thing to Dean. "Dean-O? Is there something I missed?"

The brothers looked at each other before shaking their heads.

"Nope," Dean said. "Must be her wild imagination."

"But I thought that's what you asked people to call you when you were in middle school?" Sam asked, looking at his older brother mischievously.

"I did not-"

"Oh, you so did!"

"Dean-O asked me to call him that," Estelle added, clapping her hands to get the boys to stop bickering. "So I call him that now."

Persie smiled at her younger sister. "That's nice of you."

She nodded. "Uh-huh. And it's funny."

Persie patted Dean on the arm. "It's good, considering they're family now, and family needs to have funny nicknames for each other."

"Like Wise Girl?"

Annabeth nodded, smiling at Estelle. "Of course!"

"And Blue Jay?"

Jason laughed. "Yup. I guess that's me."

"And Nee-Nee?"

Nico scowled. "I never said you could call me that."

Estelle gaped. "Yes you did."

His eyes narrowed. "When?"

Her eyebrows furrowed as she tried to think back to when he said that was okay, but all she could remember was her calling him that and never calling him anything else, so how was she supposed to know?

She ended up shrugging. "I don't know. But you did one time I think."

"You think?"

She let out a giggle and nodded.

Nico sighed. "Fine."

"And I call Sissy a mermaid sometimes because mommy says she's basically a real-life mermaid but doesn't have a tail so she can walk," Estelle moved on, looking at Persie with awe. "I wanna be just like her."

Persie reached over and grabbed her sister and held her tight, tickling her sides, and made the younger girl squeal. "That's funny, because I wanna be just like my little guppie."

Dean smiled at the two of them.

He could get used to this.
