Chapter 6

"You set me up you son of a bitch!" Riley yelled lunging at the man. It was a dumb move sure enough the two body guards cut him off and slammed him to the ground. "And here I thought you were smarter than your old man. Riley we have a good deal. I wanted to send a real message," The man says. "You sent the message killing the father. The girl didn't need to…" "It's over Riley. Just take the money and be happy," The man says before he had the bodyguards let Riley up. Riley stands up and turns to leave. "We got things to discuss your next job is waiting," The man says. Riley doesn't look back he just says. "I won't take a next job. I made it clear I had my rules. Well I'm done. Find someone else," Riley says.

"That's Becky she turned on Finn's coven to join with Seth," Penelope whispered to Riley as the red head approached. Becky gave Riley the once over. "Would you like to get out of there fella?" She finally asks. "What's the price?" Riley asks. "Just a shake of the hand," Becky claims holing hers up. "Riley don't!" Penelope says. Becky kicks at the cage Penelope is in the force is so hard it knocks the blonde down. Still that doesn't stop Penelope in her efforts to warn him. "Remember when Mandy hypnotized you. Becky has similar powers but she needs to touch you." Becky responded by kicking the cage again once more knocking Penelope over. "Hey stop it!" Riley says.

"I'm fine Riley. Just don't trust her," Penelope says. "Trust me? "My powers don't control people. You just admitted your leader Mandy used her power on him. Was that how you were turned?" Becky says looking back and forth between both cages. "So what is your power?" Riley asks. "I can learn all about you real fast. Just a few seconds and than you are out of this stupid cage," Becky says. "I like being a closed book," Riley says. "You act as if you have a choice," Becky says before reaching in and grabbing Riley and pulling him close to the bars.

Each cough and more blood went into his hands. His right leg couldn't step instead he just dragged it. Years ago he had a seen a video about a kickboxer who suffered brain damage and died after the fight. The dragging of the foot had been a clue of how badly he was hurt. "Please Riley stop," the guy begged. "What do you say boss?" Riley says tapping the blood covered baseball bat.

"OH GOD Lisa!" Riley heard the yelling. Between the smoke and fire he couldn't see the guys face. He assumed it was the son. "GET A DAMN AMBULANCE!" The yell came. Riley moved turned off his spy gear and moved. One note from the file on his target stuck in his mind. "Son's wife is five months pregnant."

"NO!" Riley yelled pulling himself away from her. Riley falls back against the bars holding his head in pain. "Now isn't that interesting," Becky says with a smile as she backs away. Riley's world was spinning. "How did dying feel less painful," he thinks. Becky exits the room and heads back to Seth. Even before she is through the door to the room he asks, "what did you find out?" "One way or another we get another person to join us," Becky says.

Back At the Compound

"I didn't have any other option Finn," The woman sat in the chair claimed. "Rhea you betrayed us. How long have you been talking to Becky?" Finn says. "Since she left... But understand Finn, Becky know all about this place. It was either I gave her information or Seth would of attacked," Rhea tried to explain. "So giving up my people was fine for you?" Mandy asked. "I had a make a choice to help protect my own coven," Rhea claimed. "Where is Seth and his coven hiding?" Seth asks. "I don't know," Rhea claimed. "She is lying. The e-mails mention she met with Becky at there base," Zack says. Mandy signals for Finn to step aside so they can talk. He nods they had had known each other a long time he had an idea of what she wanted to do.

"I can't allow you to control one her even briefly. The message it sends to the others I can't allow," Finn says. "Its the only way I can save Penelope and Riley. She knows where they are and is holding back. Give me just a few seconds all I will make her do is give me the location," Mandy says. "I can't allow that. Doing something like that might drive Rhea or other not to trust you or me and send them running to Seth," Finn claimed. "She has started to work with Seth and Becky. You have already lost her," Mandy claims.

Zack looked Rhea in the face. "Look Rhea this is really bad. I don't think Finn is going to be able to protect you," Zack says. "And if I betray Becky she will come for us. Let Seth destroy this other coven," Rhea says. "Seth's coven is more dangerous. And they will come for us at some point. Out chance to survive is siding with other coven's," Zack tries to reason with her. Back over with Finn and Mandy they are still debating. "Finn time is short. Kip is out of his mind. Malaki and Sonya both want revenge. We are sitting on a powder keg. He knew she had a point. Finn looked back at Rhea. "Let me try a little longer?" Finn says.

Different Room in the Compound

Kip kept looking at the clock. Jacy and Gigi had a bet on long before he freaked out and rushed into the other room. "Anything yet?" Sonya asks coming down the hall. "They haven't been in there very long," Gigi says. Sonya looked over at Kip. "You doing alright?" "Of course I'm not doing alright Sonya!" Kip says annoyed. "We will get her back," Sonya says. Kip looked back at the clock it was ten forty eight in the morning. Sunset was hours away. His wife would be in the hands of the Rollins coven for hours and that was if she was still alive. "Don't go there Kip," he thought to himself.

The Cages

Riley's head was still spinning but at least he could stand up now. "So, Mandy control my mind and red can tear through my mind. What do lady vampires just have special powers?" Riley asks. "Not just females. Some odler powerful vampires do have extra powers. I don't but some do," Penelope explains. "Well what the hell could she want from me I'm still new," Riley says. "Well how I am supposed to know she's the mind reader not me. But what ever it is it's not good. Especially if Seth wants it," Penelope adds. "Tell more more about this Seth guy what all do you know about him?" Riley asks. "Why?" "I want to know how far up shit creek we truly are," Riley says. "From what I understand Seth first emerged over a hundred years ago. His sire was a vampire named a vampire so evil his nick name was the viper. Some thought Orton was why the devil was depicted as a snake," Penelope says. "Do I want to know what happened to this Orton guy?" Riley asks.

"Seth killed him. Not had him killed but killed him in combat. Tore him apart," Penelope says. "So we are way, way, way, up shit's creek. Forget the paddle we don't even has a boat," Riley says. "Seth is smart enough to manipulate and strong enough to fight," Penelope tells him. "So he wants to be king of all vampires?" Riley asks. "Basically yes and he is getting close and closer," Penelope says. "Riley how do you get yourself into theses messes?" He thought. Once again the door opened. A person entered carrying keys and a very long spike. Another much larger person followed. The first person gave the keys to the larger one before turning to Riley. "You have two options. Either follow my friend after he unlocks the cage or you try to fight and I turn your friend to dust." "So I don't have a choice," Riley notes.

The Compound

Mandy was losing the little patience she had left. "Guy tucked the key into his left pocket..." A voice said. It wasn't Finn's voice nor could it of been Zack's. The voie had been male and they were the only two men in the room. "Twenty five steps left turn, only door in the hall," The voice said again. "I need a moment," She says before exiting. "Hey any luck?" Sonya asks. Mandy ignored her for a brief second she blinked

"Is she alright?" Jacy asks. "She looks drunk... I don't think we can get drunk," Gigi says. "Will you two be quite! Mandy?" Sonya says before she opens her eyes. "I know where they are at," Mandy says. "You do?" Sonya says confused. "I could see through Riley's eyes I could hear his thoughts," Mandy says. "Great where are they?" Kip says. "Sonya look up Black Knox tower," Mandy says. "It's down town... I'm sorry but I over heard you. Black Knox Tower it was built about two years ago," Toni says entering. "Any idea who owns it? I bet it's a shell Seth and Becky are using," Mandy says.

Seth's office

"So you ever going to say anything or did you call me in here to stare at me?" Riley asks. "You do get you are in danger right?" Seth asks. "When aren't I danger? Turns out my whole life vampires are real. Now I am one and I'm in some kind of turf war," Riley says. "You know how you surive a turf war Riley? You get on the side that is going to win," Seth says. "And spoiler we are the side that is going to win," Becky adds. Riley doesn't respond he figures they will get to there point eventually. "What do you care about Riley?" Seth finally asks. "Right now getting as far away from you as I can," Riley says. "What about Britt? Instering women working as a dentist," Becky says.

"How did you know..." He stops himself but Becky answers anyway. "One of many I got from our time love." The way she said it made his skin crawl. "When I was turned Randy made me kill my whole family. He told me our human familes are just a weakness other's can use. And he was right. And it's only worse now. I mean just look at everything online. Here's her linked profile, here is her website that give an office address, here is her Instagram," Seth says. Riley felt an agner boil deep inside of him but he also had to admit he was scared not for himself but for his sister. "So I'll make it real easy. You can join with us or well Britt doesn't make it to her friend Chelesea's wedding in a few months," Seth says.

Riley has to fight every urge to jump over the desk and attack him. But he stopped himself. "What good what it do? He's got backup and is such a prick he might just kill Penelope and go after Britt after he kills you. You can't be stupid," Riley thinks. "Now listen lad you have our word we won't go near Britt or her little boyfriend Adam," Becky says. "So what are you going to Riley?" Seth asks that smug smile back on his face.

Later

Adam was at his desk at work when his personal cell phone rang. It was an unknown number so he ignored it. The caller left a message. He bet it was a scam but listened to the message anyone. "It's me don't try to track this number. I can't tell how I'm alive. You need to get Britt and get her the hell out of town. It's code black." Adam's blood ran cold. He hadn't heard Riley's voice in months. But there it was. He listed to it again and a third time. Finally he got up. "Mr. Cole, Ms. Flair just called she needs you too..." "I'm sorry Gwen but something very important came up I will be back later," Adam says not even taking time to look at his secretary.

Night

For Mandy everything about this felt wrong. They were charging in blind. But it had been nearly impossible to stop Kip from charging out of the door hours ago. "The top five floors of this thing are still owned by the company that built it," Finn says. It was Mandy, Finn, and Sonya. Kip had wanted to come along but he wasn't thinking just reacting. Mandy had a fear if they had brought him the result would of been him running into the building tearing though it trying to find his wife. "Got to give Seth credit. He's basically put a bunch of Human shields between us and him," Sonya says. "So lower most floors are businesses. Middle floor are aparetments. Any idea how many are filled?" Many asks. "Almost all of them according website. And I would bet the business sections still have cleaaners or people working it's not even that late," Sonya says.

It was than Mandy heard it. "The sun is down." "Riley again?" Sonya asks. Mandy just nods. "I still don't how," Finn says. "Maybe it's a side effect to having use my powers on him," Mandy says. "Has that ever happened before?" Finn. "I've never used it on a member of the coven before," Mandy claims. "We are taking a huge risk because you think you heard and saw something," Finn says.

"Yeah well isn't that Seth's heavy?" Sonya says seeing a man exit off a side door. "Yeah that is Roman," Finn says. Mandy and Sonya exchange a look and get out of the car. Roman was focused on his phone. "No I want five hundred on Jacksonville to cover," Roman says. He didn't notice as Sonya power walked in front of him. "Come on you are being insane with those odds are on that fight. I'll pass," Roma said still tied up in his betting. They were reaching an alley way Mandy jumped up driving her knee into his back it was enough to cause him to stumble allowing Sonya to spin around toss him into the alley.

He might of had a big body with a lot of muscles but mentally he was weak. It took only seconds for Mandy to fully hypnotize him. Once she did he gave her all the information she could want. "No I want to get up and don't stop walking until you reach...Calgary," Mandy says once she is done. He got up and started to walk. He wouldn't' walk all the way there but it would get him out of the way. "So do we all for back up?" Finn asks having seen it all. "I don't think so. Riley and Penelope are alive once Roman regains his senses they might be killed. Plus I don't want Seth changing his security," Mandy says holding up a key card she had taken from Roman.

Upper Floors of the tower

"Has he done anything yet?" Seth asked. He and Becky were back in the room they used to watch the cages. "Still just sitting there. Blonde has asked what happened he hasn't responded. "Maybe we should... " "Seth listen to me. He is thinking about joining us. If you do something such as killing Penelope or making another threat towards his sister it could push him the other way," Becky warns. Seth knows she is right. But he had already made up his mind. Even if this annoying recent turned vampire joined with him it would be for long. Once he was sure had gotten anything of value from Riley he would kill him. Still though it would be a great joy when Mandy learned he had taken another from her.
