(Just a quick disclaimer that the spells and the way they are casted might not coincide with the original story, I have tried to find out how they're casted but to no luck. Feel free to correct me in the comments and I will try to fix it.)
A female voice rang out from the darkness. "Awaken Captain Kaizo Dahl. The Supreme Being has called for all the floor guardians' presence…" The voice fell silent and spoke up again. "The 6th floor is where he has called for you, please head there at once" A single pure white smile appeared and disappeared just as quickly.
In a dark, creaking lonely room there was a chair and sat in that chair was a skeleton, big in stature with 3 large spikes on his chin resembling a beard. It was dressed like a pirate captain, the long dark red coat, a half open poet shirt revealing his ribcage and multiple gold and silver necklaces, it's body had a few pieces of jewellery scattered around, it had a yellow sash wrapped around his waist which held two cutlasses they were pure gold with pitch black blades, it also wore black baggy trousers and large brown cavalier boots that reached halfway up his shin with metal soles. The outfit was complete by the dark red captain's hat with the infamous skull and crossbones topped with a single yellow feather.
As life was restored to Kaizo in a slow and quiet "Ho~" his eyes lit up a glowing golden colour as his vision was restored. "I'm… awake?" Kaizo spoke in a deep voice. "What was that voice? It definitely wasn't Lady Frapapachino's…"
Saying her name made him remember why he was asleep. "Mistress Frapapachino!" Kaizo quickly sat up straight. "No… She hasn't returned. I can feel that the first order she gave me has not been fulfilled yet". Kaizo leaned back in his chair and put his hand to his chin to think. 'I should only be awake if that order was completed? It feels like it was interrupted…'
Kaizo stared at the ceiling. *Sigh~* "How long have I been asleep?" Kaizo looked around and saw how much dust and cobwebs accumulated while he was asleep. He brushed most of the dust off his clothing as he stood up slowly like a rusted machine. "Have the Nazarick maids not been around recently?" Kaizo took his Captain's hat off and lightly smacked it with the back of his hand to get the dust off.
As he put his hat back on he looked to the doors that led outside. "Me crew must have left me to sleep in peace, but I bet they've kept the rest of the ship in good condition". Kaizo walked to the doors and grabbed both handles, readying himself to be a Captain once again. Kaizo swung both the doors open at the same time and a bright light hit his face as he saw the deck of his ship in excellent condition. The sails were caught in the wind, the crew taking care of their everyday tasks and the sea was calm and as sparkly as it's ever been… that was until reality hit him and it quickly faded into an upsetting scene. A dim light washed over the deserted beaten up ship, the sails were torn, the waves crashed and rocked the boat, the deck had collapsed in places leaving holes. "I'm surprised it's still afloat". Kaizo was slightly pissed that they allowed Lady Frapapachino's vessel… His vessel to get this broken.
Kaizo sighed in disappointment and took a few steps onto the deck. "How long has it been since me ship was last cleaned?" Kaizo ran his finger along a rail on the side of the ship. "2 years, maybe 3…" Kaizo looked out to the sea the ship floated on and remembered how Frapapachino loved staring out at it. Kaizo walked up to the helm and grabbed a hold of the wheel. "How could the supreme leaders let it get this ba-". Kaizo was cut off as he accidentally pulled the wheel off. "The wood's become really weak… I should have expected that." Kaizo dropped the wheel and looked out to the deck. "This place looks like it's been abandoned for a long time." Kaizo looked at the many holes in the deck, the tattered sails and the missing crewmates. "What happened to my ship!" Kaizo yelled out to the empty ship. "This is one of the 11 floors of Nazarick is it not?" Kaizo looked out to the deck a bit longer as he tried to figure everything out.
"Speaking of the Supreme Beings the voice earlier said they called for all the floor guardians". Kaizo walked back into the room he woke up in and walked behind his chair, he grabbed a necklace on his chest that resembled a funny looking key and slotted it into a keyhole in the wall, he turned the key only for nothing to happen. "Huh?..." He turned the key again. "Why?..." He started to repeatedly turn the key over and over again. "That's odd… Did they close the door?"
By door Kaizo is referring to a portal that leads to the next floor. It should have opened up when the key was turned. That was how his floor was designed to be beaten by taking the key from the captain.
Kaizo gave up and took the key out of the hole and hung it around his neck again. "If there's no way of going down…" Kaizo walked out of the room and onto the deck of the ship. "Then I'll have to go to a higher level." Kaizo walked to the edge of the ship and looked down into the water. "I think it was about here…" Kaizo took one step off of the ship and fell into the crashing waves and slowly sank until he hit the sea bed.
Kaizo walked forwards along the sea floor continuously turning his head looking for something along the ground. "The cave… it should be right around here but it's not?" Kaizo stopped walking and put his hand to his chin to think again. 'The portal to the next level didn't work and the staircase to the higher level is now gone. Did the supreme rulers… Imprison me by blocking off me floor from the rest of Nazarick?!' If that is the reason as to why both the entrance and exit no longer exist then Kaizo is now extremely pissed, he felt like screaming out in anger but calmed down as he was enveloped in a green light. He might have calmed down on the outside but on the inside he had questions and wanted answers.
He pushed off the sea bed and shot like a torpedo back up to the ship and landed on the deck covered in sea water. "If I can't use the entrance or exit I'll have to use a spell to get to the next floor". Kaizo pointed his hand out in front of him. "Ferry of the Damned" A black pool of darkness appeared in front of him.
A faint voice came from the darkness as it whispered to Kaizo. "I'm glad to be of use to you once again master. Where do you desire to be taken?"
Kaizo stepped onto the pool of darkness. "The 6th floor." Kaizo said to the voice.
"At your command master. But it displeases me that the payment won't be much after such a long time of being idle". The voice said.
Hands emerged from the darkness and started to drag Kaizo in. "Ye will get your fill". As Kaizo got lower and lower sharp pains attacked his body as if he fell onto a bed of needles until he was fully submerged in the darkness.
"Very well then Master". The darkness disappeared.
Kaizo's vision went black for a few moments until a dimly lit lantern lit up the area. Kaizo was standing on a small boat traversing the darkness as if it were water. "How long will it take to reach the 6th floor?" Kaizo turned around to look at the person driving the boat.
The person was a full black entity wearing clothes similar to a sailors outfit. "My apologies Master but considering that the space we set off from was blocked off from anywhere else we'd have to jump shadows which will take a considerable amount of time to do." The entity said.
"How long exactly?"
"Usually a jump from shadows would take about an hour but this is the Great tomb of Nazarick so we have to traverse through the dense protective magic so my estimates say about 2 to 3 days. I apologise for the inconvenience Master". The entity gestured outside the boat to the darkness, it was as thick as mud making the boat slower than it would usually be.
"I've been asleep for a long time. A few more days won't bother me". Kaizo needed the time to collect his thoughts and prepare himself for the meeting with the Supreme ones anyway. 'Looks like I'll be late for that meeting…'
"I thank you for your patience Master". The entity said.
Kaizo looked forward to the darkness ahead and crossed his arms. 'I just hope that me thoughts are wrong about this situation! Either way they better have a good reason as to why me floor was blocked off!'
(Thanks for reading Chpt 1. I understand that it is a short page. That's mainly because I find it easier to keep it interesting with short chapters. Each chapter will cover an interaction or two and for a deeper look on the spells I create I will have a more 'detailed' description about them at the end of the chapter. Now I hope you enjoy the tale of Captain Kaizo Dahl.)
