Savanna Pov

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. I yawned and turned off my alarm clock at 4:30 am to wake up Miriam for her surgery. I walked into her room and woke her up. "Mir it's time to get up and get ready for surgery" I cooed. "Mom, it's still dark out," She whined. "I'm sorry Miri but your surgery is at 8 and we have to be there at 6. You have to take a shower and clean up before" I explained. "Ok, Mom Fine" She replied I Helped her into her wheelchair and took her to her bathroom. I got her undressed. I helped her in her shower chair. CRASH BAM! I looked over my shoulder to see Miriam's shower chair collapsed and she landed straight on her broken wrist. Miriam started crying. "Oh Baby girl." I hugged her. "I don't want to take a shower anymore mom." I took a deep breath, grabbed the shampoo and conditioner and took her to the sink, and just washed her hair there.

After washing her hair and helping her get her pj's on I took her to my room and brushed her hair. I then helped her pack up Miracle, Fuzzy, and her blanket. I went to check to make sure Tobias was awake and getting ready. I Knocked on his door. "I'm Almost finished mom". He replied. I walked over to the kitchen and grabbed insulin and a few extra pumps to be on the safe side. My parents then came to watch the little kids while Miriam was in surgery.

After arriving at the hospital and checking Miriam in. We all found somewhere to sit and relax until her name was called. "Miriam!" A nurse yelled. Miriam groaned in nervousness. "Hey it's ok," Tobias said. The nurse took her vitals.

When we got into her room. I helped her get dressed in the bathroom and helped her on the bed and gave her Miracle, Fuzzy, and her Blanket. "Mom, can you tell the nurse I fell on my wrist this morning it still hurts so bad" Miriam whined. "Of course Miri," I replied. "Wait, Miriam fell on her wrist this morning," Tobias asked. "Yes her shower chair broke this morning and she fell." I frowned. Tobias stroked her cheek

The child life specialist came in at 7:00 and went over everything. She showed Miriam the mask that would put her to sleep and let her pick a scent. Miriam picked bubble gum as her scent. After Miriam picked her scent she picked her green cast color. The Child Life specialist then left.

At 7:45 they came in and disconnected her pump. They told her it was time for surgery and that they would take her to the operating room. She started crying. "Miriam it's ok it will be over as soon as you know it." Tobias comforted her. They then wheeled her back.

After 2 hours I grew worried her surgery was only supposed to be an hour and she wasn't finished yet. Then finally the surgeon came in. "Hi Mrs. Mendelsohn" He greeted. "Hi, how's my baby?" I wondered. "I'm afraid I have some bad news." He said. "What is it?" I gasped. "We did another x-ray on her wrist and it was more severely broken than we originally thought so we had to cut her open and put a plate and some screws in her wrist." "She will stay in a splint for another two weeks and then she will get a cast once her stitches come out." He answered. "Ok." I sighed. "Hey, She's all done though she is about to wake up" He replied. He took us back to our room. The nurses then brought Miriam in. "She's very emotional," A nurse warned. Tobias and I walked over to her bed immediately. "Hi Miriam, you are all done," Tobias said, wiping her tears. "They put me to sleep for nothing. I still have my stupid splint on." Miriam scoffed. "Oh Miriam, they had to cut you open and put some plates and screws in your wrist. "You get a cast in two weeks," I told her. Miriam started to cry even harder. "It's ok Miriam." Tobias rubbed her cheek. Miriam cried for a whole hour, unable to be calmed down.

When we got home Miriam asked to watch tv in my room. I put her on my bed and asked if she wanted lunch. "Do you want lunch, Miriam?" I asked. "Yes Please mom" She replied. " I can make you some mac and cheese?" I said. Miriam nodded.

I went downstairs to make Miriam's lunch. Then all of a sudden I got a call from my friend saying her heater broke and she needed help. I asked my parents to help watch the little kids and asked Tobias to take care of Miriam. They both happily agreed to help
