Nap

Kairi listened to the sound of the pouring rain as she quietly sat with her back against her bed, while Roxas napped on the floor beside her.

Their day out was cut short, thanks to the stormy weather that dragged on throughout the afternoon. But they supposed it wouldn't hurt to wait it out, especially if it meant they could still keep each other company.

And in a cozy environment nonetheless.

The girl passed the time writing in her notebook while exchanging small conversation with her friend until he began to mumble incoherent words. Pretty soon, he fell silent altogether, leaving Kairi alone with her thoughts written on a piece of paper.

She would occasionally look up from her notebook and watch him nap, wondering if he was even comfortable lying down on the hard floor.

Dummy… you could've been sleeping on the bed instead, she thought.

Kairi briefly tapped the pen against her chin before setting the notebook aside, scooting a bit closer to the blond-haired boy. The girl smiled as she hovered over him, using this time to appreciate the small features on his face.

He looked so peaceful. It was actually kind of… cute?

"Roxaaas," she spoke softly in a sing-song voice.

The boy stirred in his sleep and let out a mumble. Kairi smiled to herself as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and leaned down, kissing the tip of his nose.

Roxas suddenly scrunched his face as her long hair brushed against his cheeks. He slowly cracked his eyes open to see big, blue eyes staring back down at him.

"What are you doing?"

Kairi tilted her head slightly with a pleased smile. "Getting your attention. Looks like it worked."
