"I knew Miss. Grant was meant for great things. But National City is gonna miss her." James commented.

I sighed.

"Best Press Secretary since Robert Gibbs."

"Yeah. She makes Gibbs look like a hall monitor." He commented.

"With Miss. Grant in D.C and Snapper on sabbatical, it's going to be oddly congenial around here." I commented.

"Well, we will do our best."

We walked into Miss. Grant's office.

"Okay, guys. Look alive." James ordered.

Everybody gave him their attention.

"Alright. We're about a week away from locking up this issue. So, I need to know what's going on."

I sat on the other couch in here.

"What's up with sports?"

"As of last night, the Metropolis Monarchs officially have the worst record in Baseball." Eddie informed.

He threw him the Baseball.

"Crime."

"There's not much to cover."

"Crime's been down 65% over the past six months." Eddie informed.

"Supergirl has turned the entire City around pretty much single-handedly." Mackenzie commented.

James' eyes drifted over to me.

"Which brings me to my next point... How are you doing on that exclusive with Supergirl and Mon-El?"

"Oh, uh... Supergirl and Mon-El has been too busy to have a one-on-one conversation about the invasion."

"The statue dedication is this weekend."

"I'll do my best."

"Well, you have your assignments, right?" He questioned.

Everybody nodded their heads.

"Uh... Let's get to work." James instructed.

Everybody except me got up.

"Thanks."

I stood up.

"Kara..."

I paused.

"Hey, are you sure that you're okay to write this or is this going to bring up some old stuff?" He questioned.

"I said I was."

"Okay. Well, I'm here if you wanna talk or grab a drink-"

"Do you want me to write the article or grab a drink?"

James smiled.

"Okay. Listen. I'm on your side. Okay?"

I looked down.

I nodded my head.

"Look, I know more than anybody, how much ass Supergirl has been kicking lately."

"Well, that's my job."

"There's still more I can do."

We looked over at the screen.

"And touch people's lives."

"What is this blowhard up to now?"

"In that vein, I'd like to announce a bold new direction for my company."

James turned the TV up.

"I'm buying CatCo."

We stared.

Lena

"In the last few years, the press in this town has swung wildly to one side."

I looked up when I heard knocking on my office door.

It was Kara.

"Hey. I hate that sentient bottle of cheap cologne." I told her.

"Did you know?" I questioned.

"No. James was blindsided too. He thinks it's his fault for getting in Edge's face."

"Only he would spend that kind of money on a grudge."

Kara sat in one of the chairs in front of my desk.

"Do you think the shareholders will listen to Cat?"

"Uh... Well, Cat had to put her shares in a blind trust when she became Press Secretary. But I did some digging... Edge has been quietly buying up shares until today."

I stood up.

"When he put a tender offer to the majority shareholders."

"Hey! No more free press."

"You've invested in his port folio though. So, I figured if you could talk to him."

I handed her a glass of water.

"You might be able to be persuasive."

"Edge doesn't respect any opinions that aren't his own. Especially not a woman's."

"Lena... You helped Supergirl save the world. How hard could one stubborn sexist be?"

I nodded my head.

"Alright. I'll see what I can do."

"Thanks."

Kara stood up.

"Hey, uh..."

She turned around.

"I mean, I miss you. Is everything okay?" I questioned.

"Cause I keep trying to make plans and you keep ditching." I pointed out.

"I've just been busy."

"Right. Um... I also just... I wanted to say I was sorry for the part I played in what happened to Mon-El."

Kara looked down.

"And that, I'm here for you if you still want that."

"No. You did what you had to do. And that was Supergirl's call anyway, not yours." She answered.

"I should get going."

"Yeah, uh... Brunch soon?"

Kara nodded her head.
