Sonic was Playing with Ami Onkui's Phone (He did get permission from Ami) then Sonic's hand slipped resulting in Dropping it on the screen side where it cracked and stopped working

Ami Onkui then gently pushs Sonic out of her way then When She Grabbed her Phone She saw it was Cracked and It had Stop Working Completely
Ami Onkui: SOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCC WHY DID YOU LIE ABOUT CRACKING MY PHONE SCREEN AND IT STOPPED WORKING
Sonic: I was playing games on your phone then the phone slipped out of my hands and fell Screen-Down

And Sonic Did Keep his Promise and He was proud when He finally told the truth.
