Naruto had looked up Kara's current residence and decided that he would drop by and give her something. At any rate, Naruto had made his way to her apartment to meet Kara dressed normally. Naruto decided to knock on the door, a few seconds the door opened revealing Kara.
"Can I help you?" Kara asked confused
"Can we go inside, I don't think that you are going to want people to hear our conversation." Naruto asked before Kara nodded and opened the door to her apartment letting Naruto in.
"Alright spill, what do you want?" Kara asked before Naruto held up one of the same bracelets that he made Iris. "What's that?"
"Put it on and I will explain." Naruto commanded before Kara quickly put the bracelet on, if he was as strong as he claimed to be it was better not to cause damage thru a scene. "That is a bracelet with a panic/help button on it. I made your cousin a promise to keep you safe, and I intend to keep that promise. It also has a marker engraved on the inside of the metal so I can get to you should you need my help."
"Why should I even use it. Clark didn't even get out of trouble-free card when he started, why should I?" Kara asked enraged at the gesture
Naruto smiled "Everyone needs a little help now and then, it's not shameful to ask for help. It is always good to have people to lean on in time of need or weakness." before he handed her a piece of paper. "If you ever want to talk or need anything non-emergency you can call me. By the way, the names Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki. I trust that you will keep my identity a secret considering you know the importance of one."
Kara smiled at his display of trust before Naruto disappeared in a flash of orange heading back home.
(The next day – S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto was meditating while Barry ran around Central City stopping small crimes and helping people in need. Sakura had managed to teach Caitlin and Sakura how to properly utilize the Diagnosis Jutsu and understand readings from it. Now they were working on healing fish, and Cisco was still practicing his Calligraphy, he was getting really far and had a bit more to go until the next step in his training.
As Naruto continued to meditate he picked up on a peculiar sound and honed in on it.
"Clark, Reactron is in National City and is after Kara, she just left to go and fight him alone." A deep voice said
"Naruto if you are listening can you get this one, I'm dealing with a volcano right now." Clark asked worried, hoping that Naruto was passively listening like he always was.
"Yeah, sure, I'm not doing anything productive right now." Naruto said out loud getting everyones attention
"Thanks." Clark said before continuing on his way
Naruto sat up and took in the looks that everyone was giving him "Superman's cousin is in trouble and he is currently preoccupied so I am filling in."
A few minutes later Kara's bracelet ping went off and Naruto's suit bled onto him and he vanished in a flash of orange.
(Unknown Location)
Naruto arrived in a flash for orange next to Kara, just as Reactron was about to finish off Kara and puts himself between them absorbing the nuclear energy. Reactron tries again only to get the same result. Reactron goes in for a punch but it does nothing to Naruto, Reactron seeing he can do nothing at this point in time decides to take his leave.
Naruto then picks Kara up bridal style and is about to fly off before Maxwell Lord comes out of what seems nowhere "Who are you?"
Naruto turns to him "Nobody that concerns you." before flying off heading for Kara's apartment
(Kara's apartment)
Naruto arrives at Kara's apartment and finds the balcony door open and enters thru there and sets Kara down on the couch. Naruto then sends Alex a text telling her that she got her sister and is at Kara's apartment. Half an hour later Kara's apartment door opens revealing Alex and a Dark skinned man.
"Who the hell are you?" Naruto asks the man before Alex jumps in
"Relax his name is Jimmy Olsen, he is a work friend of Kara who also knows that she is Supergirl." Alex says defusing the situation
"Where the hell is Superman?" the now-named Jimmy Olsen
Naruto seeing that Alex was here decided now was the time to take his leave "I'll be going now." before vanishing in a flash of orange
(A few hours later)
Kara woke up to see Alex sitting on the couch with her.
"Kara?" Alex said concerned as Kara began to move. "Kara. Hey. Easy, easy, easy. You're okay."
Kara began to breathe heavily "How long was I out?" as Jimmy shot over to the opposing couch
"Just a few hours." Alex answered
"I was fighting Krull. Maelstrom. Where is he?" Kara asked remembering the last thing before he blacked out was Naruto absorbing the nuclear fireballs before Reactron fled
"He left shortly after we got here." Alex answered before their attention was drawn to the T.V. not too far away revealing Max Lord giving a statement on the news
"Reactron is a great danger to everyone in this city. Luckily, I wasn't harmed. I am in fact, very lucky to be alive. And I owe it all to the great stranger that rescued me. Siphon, as I would call them." Maxwell Lord said before Alex turned the T.V. off
Kara brought her hands up to her face "I don't understand. How did he know that I was fighting Krull?"
Alex throws a look Jimmy's way before Kara turns to him.
"You called him." Kara stated
"Not him exactly, originally I was calling for Superman but I guess they have some deal and he answered the call instead." Jimmy explained before he showed her his watch lifting the top off of it, revealing a Superman symbol on it. "Kara, he gave me this a long time ago. If I ever got into trouble I could contact him."
"Yeah, but here is the thing, you weren't in trouble." Kara said hurt and Jimmy's actions before he raised her hand revealing her new bracelet. "The Maelstrom gave this to me, said if I was ever in trouble or needed help to press this button." as she pointed to the button on the bracelet. "And they would be there to help me. Jimmy, I decide when I need help not you, not my sister, no one but me."
"When did you even use it? The second I left?" Kara asked
"Kara, I made a promise to your cousin. If anything ever happened to you…." Jimmy started before Kara interrupted him
"It feels like you don't believe in me." Kara stated livid as hell
Jimmy looked baffled and hurt "Of course, I believe in you. I wouldn't even be here if I didn't believe in you."
Kara looked him dead in the eyes, hers full of hurt "Maybe, you shouldn't be here at all then."
At that Jimmy got up and walked to the door before turning around "You know what Kara. I'm sorry that you're mad at me. But I am not sorry that you are still alive."
All Kara did was raise her hand showing Jimmy the bracelet that Naruto gave her and at that Jimmy opened the door and left. Kara got up and sniffled a little bit followed shortly by her adopted sister
"You know he was just trying to protect you." Alex commented
"Yea, I know, it's just… it seems like he thinks I'm weaker than my cousin. That I need saving against someone that my cousin couldn't beat." Kara responded. "It wasn't supposed to be this way. I was supposed to be here to protect Kal-el, not the other way around. How am I supposed to really become a hero if I have to rely on my cousin or someone else to save me?"
"Your story is just beginning, someday you will be the one saving him." Alex said conforting her sister
(Later that night – Catco party)
Reactron had arrived, looking for Supergirl. Kara quickly disappeared and suited up, Kara was deflecting the nuclear blasts with her cape when one of them bounced off and hit a concrete beam and began to fall toward Winn. Kara was quick to act and caught the concrete beam but left herself open to Reactron.
"Winn, see the bracelet on my wrist." Kara whispered getting a nod from Winn. "See the button. Hit it."
Winn quickly reached up and pressed the button on her bracelet sending a 'help' ping to Naruto
(Naruto's Home)
Naruto was eating dinner with his wife when Hagoromo spoke up.
"Sir. Kara Danvers just activated her bracelet." Hagoromo said
"Honey, Kara is in trouble. I'll be right back." Naruto said before suiting up and disappearing in a flash of orange
(Back with Kara)
It had been about 3 second since Winn hit the button on her bracelet. Kara wondered if Naruto was asleep or if he was coming at all when suddenly there was a bright flash of orange blinding Cat Grant and Maxwell Lord.
"Hey, Siphon. Nice to see you again." Maxwell Lord said
"That is not my name Mr. Lord, I would prefer if you not call me that." Naruto said before turning to Kara seeing that she was preoccupied with keeping a concrete beam from crushing what to him appeared to be a random civilian.
Naruto walked over to Kara and lifted the beam easily out of her hands tossing it aside before he turned to Reactron "You just couldn't leave her alone could you." before he began walking towards Reactron. "You know my days of killing have long been over. But that doesn't mean I won't further cripple you for life in prison."
Reactron rushed Naruto intent on taking him down, throwing a right hook that Naruto caught before he saw the power source of Reactrons suit. Naruto pulled it out with a Univeral Pull and held the core between his hands. Everyone watched as the core exploded in his hand, causing them to panic only for it to stay contained between Naruto's hands at the size of a basketball. Everyone watched in awe as the ball of subatomic energy began to shrink until it was no more.
Naruto then tossed Reactron to Kara "He is all yours, I am going to take my leave now."
Just as Naruto was about to teleport away Cat Grant gets his attention "Who do I have to thank for the save?"
"No one that concerns you Maam." Naruto replied
"Well you must have some sort of name to go by." Cat pressed on causing Naruto to sigh
"I am retired, I am only doing this as a favor to a family friend. If you must call me by anything call me Maelstrom. Now I am done answering questions, my dinner is getting cold." Naruto said before vanishing in a flash of orange
Cat Grant turns to Kara "You have questions to answer."
"No I don't as I know next to nothing to begin with." Kara said shooting down Cat Grant
(2 days later – Night Time)
Naruto was in his Home lab working on a breakthrough for a new non-lithium ultra high capacity battery that would last 4 times as long as a lithium-ion battery, and Sakura was in another level of the home lab working on her healing ointment that she had been developing at S.T.A.R. Labs when Hagoromo speaks up.
"Kara appears to need your assistance, Sir." Hagoromo announced
"Notify my wife of the reason for my departure." Naruto commanded before he suited up and vanished with a flash of orange
(With Kara)
Naruto appeared next to Kara finding that she was being electrocuted to death by a woman with snow-white hair only for the woman doing it to divert their attention to him and started trying to shock him. Naruto simply absorbed the energy, giving Kara time to recover, pulling up a water line and taking down the white-haired woman.
Naruto helped Kara up "You good kid?"
"Yea, if you hadn't come I would have been toast." Kara said thankful for the save
"Well, I'm heading home." Naruto said with a salute before teleporting back to his home lab to continue his work
(The next day – S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto was sitting in the cortex watching Cisco slowly get closer and closer to satisfactory Calligraphy. Sakura was overseeing Frost and Caitlin's progress on healing fish, which was very slow, but promising. Just then Naruto's phone rang, he pulled it out and brought it to his ear seeing it was Kara.
"What's up?" Naruto asked
"Me and my sister have recently come into possession of some new information and would like your help." Kara answered. "Could you pop in real quick, my sister wants to ask you something."
"Yeah, sure. Be right there." Naruto said before he hung up the phone putting it back in his pocket
"I'll be right back." Naruto announced before teleporting to Kara
(Kara's apartment)
Naruto appeared in a flash of orange before turning to Kara "Am I to assume you have told her who I am?" only for Kara to nod
"But you can trust her. She is my sister and I trust her with my life." Kara reassured the overpowered Blond
Naruto then turned to Alex "What do you want?"
"Okay. So recently our mother told us that our father died working for the DEO, 12 years ago, under Hank. Our mother was told that he died in a plane crash but she doesn't believe them. We were wondering if you could help us find out what happened to our dad." Alex explained hoping that Naruto would help them.
"And what exactly would you have me do?" Naruto asked
"Well, you seem pretty smart. Could you hack into the DEO Mainframe and find out what happened?" Kara asked
Naruto laughed "I can and will do many things for my family and family friends. Breaking into the mainframe of the organization that gave me and my wife new life is not one of them, I still do respect them. Find someone else to do it. Once you have a more clear depiction of what happened you can call me." before he teleported away
(Later that day – S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto was at S.T.A.R. Labs working on his ultra-high capacity non-lithium battery that he had been working on for about 2 weeks now. He was close to making a break through but he wasn't quite there yet. Suddenly his phone went off and Hagoromo spoke up.
"Miss Danvers requires your assistance." the A.I. announced causing Naruto to stop his R&D and suit up before teleporting to Kara in a flash of orange
(With Kara)
Naruto appeared next to Kara, surprising Maxwell Lord "What's the issue?"
Kara simply pointed at the bomb "That bomb is low on time and no one can disarm it."
Naruto nodded before walking up to it, mentally disabling it. Shocking everyone seeing as it looked like all he did was look at it.
"Well, I'm leaving now that that is taken care of." Naruto said before he disappeared in a flash of orange
(2 days later – Early afternoon – S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto was working on his battery project when he felt a tug on the Kunai that he gave Hank. Naruto quickly suited up before telling Hagoromo to notify everyone else of his absence and was gone in a flash of orange.
(Unknown Location)
Naruto appeared in a flash of orange, taking a notice of his surroundings he realized that he was in a tent. Naruto turned around to see Hank, Alex, a General, and a Major, along with 2-3 soldiers with their guns pointed at Naruto.
"Who the hell are you?" the General asked
"Hank, what the hell is this?" Naruto said, enraged thinking that Hank was trying to turn Naruto in
"General Lane tell your men to stand down. He is friendly." Hank said but the now named Major Lane did nothing
"I will ask again. Who the hell are you?" General Lane demanded
"I ain't tellin' you shit baldy." Naruto shot back before turning to Hank. "What did you summon me for exactly?"
"Supergirl is testing a robot made by the military. I want you here to make sure that nothing happens to either of them." Hank explained
"I am still here and I demand that you tell me who the hell you are. I am a General of the United States Military. You will obey my orders." General Lane demanded
Naruto turned to General Lane "Yeah and what are you going to do? You don't know who I am, so you can't punish me. Your men can't do shit either cause your guns will do jack shit to me, so don't even try and be forceful. I hate stuck-up, arrogant fucks like you that think that they deserve respect or demand people do what they say before of a stupid fucking rank. Let's get on with this stupid fight so I can go back to work."
"Dr. Morrow, begin the test. Don't think I am done with you mister." General Lane said
"Don't call me mister I am older than you, youngin." Naruto commented
Dr. Morrow started the fight and after a little while Major Lane spoke up "I don't think she is taking this seriously."
"Why would she when she could probably crush the damn machine like it was tinfoil." Naruto commented before Kara burrowed herself underground
A couple seconds later she shot up from behind the android sending it flying a little ways. Kara made her way over to the robot and began to lay into it as it tried to get back up.
"It's experiencing system damage." Dr. Morrow commented. "The test is over. Pull the plug. Now."
"Supergirl. You won." Alex said only for it to fall on deaf ears as Kara kept on laying into the robot
"Supergirl, stand down. That's enough." Hank commanded as Kara froze the android's arm causing it to fall off. "Maelstrom go make sure that the robot is okay." before Naruto exited the tent along with General and Major Lane, and Dr. Morrow
As soon as they exited the tent the android took off at high speeds, becoming invisible to the naked, and Kryptonian eye.
"Maelstrom bring it back. Please." Hank ordered
"That's impossible. He is on stealth mode making him 100% undetectable." Dr. Morrow stated
Naruto sensed the android out with his Technopathy before he got a lock and pulled it back with a Universal Pull as it came flying back exiting Stealth mode landing at Naruto's feet as he quickly sealed the android into one of the seals on his arm shocking everyone.
"What did you do to our robot?" General Lane asked demanding to know what Naruto did with their billion-dollar project
"Stored it for safekeeping so it didn't try and run away again." Naruto replied
"How the hell were you even able to find it? It was supposed to be 100% invisible and undetectable." Dr. Morrow asked
"That is a secret." Naruto simply stated. "We'll meet you back at the DEO for further discussion." before he grabbed Kara, Alex, and Hank and teleported back to the main room of the DEO.
(Main room of the DEO – about half an hour later)
Naruto had unsealed the android and turned it off, placing him on the table waiting for the Lanes to arrive with their men. During that period of time Hank decided to have the dermal covering analyzed revealing to them that it was designed to be undetectable to Kryptonians. Soon General and Major Lane walked in followed by several army men. General Lane, Major Lane, and Dr. Morrow came up to the table as Dr. Morrow grabbed the android and began to check over it.
"I'm only going to ask this once. What was the true purpose of Red Tornado?" Hank asked demanding the truth
"That is none of your business, Director Henshaw." General Lane stated
"Really, we analyzed the dermal covering of red tornado and found that it's made of a biosynthetic polymer which contains traces of lead. To suppress X-ray vision right? It wasn't meant to fight insurgents. It was designed to kill kryptonians." Hank explained catching General Lane red-handed
"You've got Fort Rozz aliens locked up downstairs. Monsters. Abominations. Some of them have wings, some horns, and others spit acid. Do you know the difference between them and her? She's blonde." General Lane countered.
"None fo those things you said were true. Each and everyone one of those are separate beings that you see as that. When in reality they are as unique as you and me, just from another planet." Naruto shot back
"Well, the android failed anyways. So destroy it." General Lane stated before turning to Dr. Morrow. "So, you're fired."
Naruto then proceeded to turn Red Tornado into what looked like a red ball of tinfoil shocking Dr. Morrow, General Lane, and Major Lane.
"YOU BASTARD THAT WAS MY LIFES WORK." Dr. Morrow screamed before rushing Naruto intent on beating him to a pulp, Naruto simply sent him flying back into a wall with an Almighty Push further shocking General Lane and Major Lane.
"Director Henshaw I demand to know who this is." General Lane demanded. "If I need to I will come back with an executive order from the president."
"He couldn't even give it to you if he wanted to. I encrypted my file, and the name on file, regardless of the fact that I do not even work for the DEO, I just do favors for Hank." Naruto said basically giving General Lane the biggest middle finger that he could. "You can't do shit to me. I pay my taxes, I work hard, fuck off." before he salutes and teleports back to S.T.A.R. Labs
(The next day)
Naruto was still working on his breakthrough in battery technology when suddenly his phone rang. Naruto picked it up to see it was Kara, before answering it and putting it up to his ear.
"What's up Kara?" Naruto asked
"We have the evidence that you asked for. Mind dropping by so we can show you and confront Henshaw." Kara explained
"Yea sure I will be right over." Naruto said before he teleported to Kara
(Kara's apartment)
Naruto appeared in a flash of orange next to Kara "Where's this evidence you speak of."
Alex showed Naruto the mission log, showing that her dad was led in a squadron by Hank, only for it to show that only Hank came back.
"Alright, I have seen enough. Let's go get some answers from Hank." Naruto said. "You guys get him alone first then Kara you press the button on your bracelet and I'll teleport in." getting a nod from Kara as they headed off to the DEO
(About an hour later – Unknown Room – DEO)
Naruto had waited about an hour before he got a ping from Kara's bracelet letting him know that they were alone. Naruto teleported in and was greeted by Alex, Kara, and Hank.
"Naruto what are you doing here? Supergirl isn't in trouble." Hank asked
"I'm here to give you a chance to come clean to Alex and Kara about their father. Before I use more forceful methods." Naruto stated
"What happened to our father?" Alex asked
"We told you what happened to your father. He died in a plane accident." Hank answered playing dumb
"Not according to what our mother told us." Alex countered. "Plus, I checked that bomb that you said was a dud, it wasn't. How did you even get the cover off much less disable it on your own."
"I don't think you want to know the truth." Hank stated, Naruto was getting fed up and took a glove off
"I am getting tired of your games. Hank. If you don't want to tell her the truth I will get it forcefully." Naruto said as he pulled Hank to him before latching his hand onto Hank's head. "If you try and escape you will die. Until I am finished you are at my mercy." before he began reading Hank's mind.
About a minute went by before Naruto finally let go "You have got to be kidding me. Now I have to train. Either you tell them or I tell them." Naruto waited a few seconds before Hank let out a sigh
"Well, either way, they are going to find out. There are only 2 other living people who know the truth." Hank stated "You sure you girls want to hear this? You guys can't share with this anyone. Can you do that?"
"Well, it seems like he is going to come clean now. I'm going to take my leave, I have to go back to work as well as train because I have new abilities because Hank decided to make me get my hands dirty." Naruto said before he saluted and flashed home to set up a clone to work on his newly acquired Telekinesis, Phasing, Mind reading, and Telepathy.
"You're the one who taught me to keep secrets in the first place." Alex stated
Hank took a seat before he began "I am not Hank Henshaw. He died. The same night as your father. The DEO had been pursuing an alien for months. Not one of the Fort Rozz prisoners, but an innocent one stranded on this planet. With the help of your father, the DEO tracked the alien to a remote location in Peru. Henshaw led the squadron sent to terminate him."
"My father would never have been part of a mission like that." Alex stated clearly offended
"You're right. Jeremiah Danvers was a good man. He realized the alien they were hunting wasn't a threat. He was a refugee, like your sister. Sole survivor of a lost world. Your father tried to stop the mission, but Henshaw was obsessed. He'd finally trapped the alien he'd been hunting for so long. So Jeremiah made the ultimate sacrifice. He gave his life to save that alien. Your father died a hero." Henshaw finished
"That alien…is that you?" Alex asked hesitant to know the answer, Hank nodded his head
"But how are you him? I mean you look like him, seem to sound like him." Alex asked
"I am a shapeshifter. When Hank Henshaw died, I assumed his identity to reform the DEO. How do you think Agent Maelstrom was able to start a new life uninterrupted and uninterfered. But I also made your father a promise, that I would take care of his daughter. I recruited you so that I would honor that promise and protect you as if you were my own daughter." Hank explained
"If you're not Hank Henshaw, who are you?" Alex asked close to breaking down
"I am the sole survivor of my planet. The Last Son of Mars." Hank said as his eyes glowed red and he started to transform. When he was done transforming he was a green-skinned being with a full-body suit growing about 1-2 feet in height. "My name is J'onn J'onzz."
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter I wanted to catch up on Supergirl for you guys as well as give Naruto 1 more set of powers. He shouldn't be receiving anymore.
