61: Hulk [04]
—
Peter was a bit excited.
Banner, aka the Hulk, was in New York, and it was his responsibility to go and stop the man from causing any kind of mayhem in the city.
His main motive behind this 'heroic act' was that Peter wants to test how strong he really is, and Hulk was the perfect candidate for that. At least for now.
It didn't take Peter that long to reach the facility, and he was surprised at the destruction caused in just a few minutes.
Rocks and debris were scattered about in the vicinity and the civilians were running away. Dust and smoke were everywhere and the place was nothing short of chaotic.
"GRRAAARRR!"
A roar was heard from within the building, and Peter landed down on the ground before walking in with Jen in tow. She was frowning heavily and her face was betraying a bit of concern.
Peter just gave her a pat on the back.
"He'll be fine," he said to her.
Jen was obviously worried about Bruce. They might not be too close, but they were still relatives, and her worry was justified.
"Yeah," Jennifer gave him a smile that turned into a grin in but a jiffy. "Let's go kick some green ass!"
General Ross was hiding in the building.
He was afraid.
He'd tried everything to get out of there but nothing was working. Where he remembered Hulk being aggressive, this one was being cautious and was searching around everywhere; it was a miracle Ross managed to hide so long.
Ross couldn't transform, for now, and it had him on edge the whole time.
Although he hated Hulk, and in addition the Red-Hulk inside him—even though he was in control of the Red-Hulk—Ross had grown too dependent on it.
He was a soldier, and he could surely use guns and stuff, but Ross wasn't an idiot. Ross knew too well that those things wouldn't work on Hulk at all. So he didn't want to try. It would be futile.
Hiding was the better option-
– Bam!
The bunker he was hiding below was thwarted away by Hulk's feet and the latter roared at him, making Ross almost piss his pants.
Ross had never been this ashamed of himself. He was a fucking general, goddammit! But it looks like he's become too dependent on his Hulk form, too much indeed.
"Fuck!"
He gritted his teeth and ran towards the exit; maybe he would be able to leave due to some stroke of luck.
– Boom!
Hulk slammed his foot on the ground, covering a lot of distance in a moment. He'd had enough. Time end this little play.
– Boom!
Another kick on the ground and he was onto Ross, his hands coming down to crush the insect.
– Bam!
But something green slammed into him, hurtling him away into the wall in the far distance.
"You alright, boss?"
Jennifer asked him, smirking as she did so.
"Why've you not transformed yet?" she frowned.
"I, huff," Ross huffed, his gaze traveling from Jennifer to Spider-Man. "I inhaled the drug."
"Oh…"
Jennifer had a look of understanding on her visage while Ross stared at Spider-Man.
Ross had tried hard to find any information on Spider-Man, but he hadn't been able to find anything at all. Ross wasn't sure how Spider-Man did it, but he couldn't find any footage relating to seeing Spider-Man changing clothes, or going 'civilian mode'.
As far as Ross was concerned, there were some times when Spider-Man, even though present at the location, didn't appear in cameras. So Ross had an inkling about Spider-Man having some sort of anti-camera thingy.
Where he got it, or what it was, Ross didn't know.
Before Ross could ask or say anything further, Hulk's roar resounded in the building, and they were forced to focus on the green monstrosity.
"YOU WILL PAY!"
Hulk growled at Jennifer, but the latter only smirked.
"You can't even get near me," she taunted, bringing her tongue out.,
Hulk snarled, shooting forth with untraceable speed. He tensed his arms to throw a punch, and Jennifer was left a bit no-on-guard because of his speed being a bit too fast.
She gritted her teeth and brought her hands forward in a cross so that she could tank his punch, which she doubted she could, but Spider-Man stepped forward and jumped in the air.
As Hulk's fist neared her, Spider-Man shot a web, which sprouted out of his wrists and wriggled towards Hulk's fist before latching onto It. Spider-Man landed on the ground, quite a distance behind Hulk, and pulled on the web.
Hulk's punch neared Jennifer's face, and she was ready to defend or dodge out of the way, but his fist stopped as Spider-Man tensed the web. Due to Spider-Man's strength, he was able to stay afoot, while Hulk was hurled back due to the elasticity of the web, and the third law of motion.
Then, Spider-Man pulled Hulk towards him, wondering why he was so strong already. Hulk was a monster when it came to raw strength, but this… this was just disappointing. Peter didn't even use his full strength, yet the man was already done.
Right, Hulk is weak?
How wrong Peter can be.
Hulk's green eyes shot open, and he grabbed the web, easily pulling Spider-Man off the ground.
Spider-Man's spider-sense blared warnings, but he could do nothing as Hulk's fist made contact with his chest, making the air inside him leave his lungs. Peter was left airless, and the pain that exploded through his entire being was something else.
– Bam!
The sound returned in Peter's ears as he got slammed against the ground.
Once.
– Bam!
Twice. Peter coughed up blood. His lungs were in pain. Not only his lungs, but his whole body was in pain.
– Bam!
Thrice.
Peter's vision was becoming hazy.
He did glimpse a panicked and scared Jen coming his way, probably to save him, but Hulk was relentless. He didn't stop, and slammed him into the ground once again.
– Bam!
Peter was angry.
He'd had enough.
So he activated [Release] and growled as he rammed his left leg, which was not caught by Hulk, in his chest.
– Boom!
A loud boom of pure force resounded, and Hulk growled in pain, his grip loosening on Peter as he got hurled back into the wall, breaking It on impact before he slammed into the wall behind.
Hulk coughed out blood.
He was really hurt.
That kick… it was something else.
Even Peter could feel that it was something else entirely.
This time, [Release] didn't contain much Eldritch Energy, but just raw force since Peter was usually training with Silver, or doing other physical stuff, and that coupled with the beating Hulk gave him, it wasn't a surprise that this was so much effective.
Hulk didn't move for a while, and Peter almost believed the latter was done for, but it seemed that it was just his wishful thinking.
Hulk started to groan and stand up, the only difference being that he was a bit sluggish.
"Spider!" Jen ran up to him. "Are you… alright?" she asked.
Peter chuckled, "is that concern I hear?"
"Oh shut up you fucking bastard!" she punched him in the shoulders, playfully. Peter winced jokingly.
"S-sorry," Jen paled slightly.
"Relax, just kidding."
Jen scowled at him before her attention shifted to Hulk.
"We've gotta do something about him."
She spoke.
"Yeah," Peter said, and then, as he had an idea, he grinned under his mask and looked at her. "But I'm gonna need 'something' in return for my help."
Jen looked at him, but soon understood what he meant. She blushed slightly and looked away.
"Fine… you bastard."
Peter laughed and jumped forward, towards Hulk, at a fast speed. Peter felt that his body had already healed.
Wow. There was the super-healing factor he got after getting reborn. It was quite effective, but he'd forgotten about it since he hadn't really been injured much.
But today, he was again reminded of how awesome he was becoming slowly.
Peter knew that even this wasn't enough in the Marvel Universe, but he could get stronger at his pace since he didn't think there were any immediate dangers. Though he didn't want to stay idle any longer either.
He'd start his projects after he was done with the Hulk matter.
Hulk growled, and jumped high, but he didn't slam into the ceiling. It looked like he was calculating stuff too.
Interesting.
As far as Peter knew, Hulk wasn't capable of much on the brain side of things. And Banner was only able to control his Hulk form after merging with Hulk's mind. But Banner was too passive, with too many brains that he couldn't or wouldn't use brawn.
Both sides had their own weakness.
But this seemed like a version that got the goods from both sides.
Though Peter was sure after looking at Hulk's movements that Hulk was testing his new-found intelligence, or Banner was testing his new-found brawn.
It was a strange amalgamation that'd be eventually stronger than MCU's Hulk. Peter wasn't about the comics' version though. Only time would tell.
– Bang!
Hulk slammed his hands on them. Or, at least, it was supposed to happen that way, but Peter and Jen had dodged out of the way long before that.
Peter had already tested his strength; Hulk was still stronger than him when it came to strength, but the gap wasn't that big. So, now, Peter wanted to end this as quickly as possible before reaping the 'rewards'.
Which was Hulk's blood, that he'd steal without Jen or Ross knowing, and the other was that he was going to claim Jen as his own, doesn't matter if she wanted or not.
Peter wanted this green sexy all to himself, so she better deal with it, the sooner the better.
Peter looked around to see if Ross was there or not, and seeing that the man was nowhere to be seen, and had most like taken his chance to escape when he was fighting Hulk, Peter knew that he could let loose somewhat.
After all, Jen would be his, and wouldn't reveal anything to anyone.
Peter waved his hands and the Eldritch Whips materialized. Then, he ran up to Hulk and hopped into the air above him, throwing the whips at him before making sure they'd coil around the relatively larger and green man entirely.
As Hulk felt that he was being entangled in something, he growled and used force, but Peter wasn't weak; he could keep him at bay, especially if magic was in consideration.
Peter cast a levitation spell on himself and used it to accelerate in the opposite direction of Hulk's force, promptly nullifying any strength behind Hulk's pull.
Now, Peter was able to easily entangle him in the whips. Then, as Hulk was entangled and couldn't move, he gesture for the stunned Jen to move and attack her cousin. Peter himself too levitated towards Hulk with the fastest speed he could levitate before slamming his fist in the latter's jaws.
– Crack!
Peter winced.
Oops, he might have just dislocated his jaw.
"GRRRAAAWWW!"
Hulk cried.
And Peter weaved away, Jen was onto Hulk, and her leg landed on the man's head, shaking his brain. Peter was sure that this was enough to make Hulk unconscious, but it seemed it wasn't.
So, Peter sighed, and opened a portal, pushing Hulk through.
It was a portal leading to an Island in the sea. Peter had made sure to open the teleport circle quite high in the air so that Hulk could easily fall down to unconsciousness.
This worked in [Avengers] so it should work now too.
Peter wasn't planning on leaving Banner to die there though, Peter would visit the man sooner or later to make sure he was fine.
And to be honest, Peter didn't think that Banner needed any saving, the man could sustain himself and survive since Peter had chosen an island that had plenty of resources.
Now, onto the important matter.
Peter stared at Jen, who was looking at him.
