questionable watcher: I am well aware of Shirou and Rin's dialogue. I know Shirou's easy to bully and all, but I doubt he would marry someone who genuinely didn't care about and Rin's too prideful to marry someone she didn't love either.

adislt: I don't have any plans on reincarnation Shirou and Rin's daughter.

Chapter 14: First Day

Shirou was standing outside his dorm building, enjoying the brisk morning air. His habit of waking up early in the morning persisted throughout his new life and it was a few hours before he was supposed to wake up.

The reincarnator looked up at the stars fading as dawn broke in the horizon and reflected. He reflected on the life he had lived in this world. It was a good life. He had good parents, he had good friends, and he recently reunited with his wife. The only way his life would be more perfect would be if Saber was with him.

Do I… really deserve this? Shirou thought to himself. He was a killer, and a good one at that. While he didn't necessarily go down the same path as Archer, he still had to kill a lot of people. Despite that, here he was, living a happy life.

Something then caught Shirou's attention. His sword instantly turned into a nameless bow and Shirou shot a traced arrow. The arrow flew and struck a bird-like familiar. Shirou pursed his lips as he lowered his bow.

"What's a familiar doing here?"

Back at the Giliad estate, a 9-year-old Chloe Giliad smiled.

"Looks like onii-chan came here with me," Chloe muttered to herself, barely containing her glee. "Just you wait. I'll be coming for you soon."

"Chloe! Breakfast!" Angelica called from the kitchen.

"Coming, mama!" Chloe said with a sweet and innocent tone. She was definitely in a better mood now.

Shirou spent a good half hour trying to look for the kitchen before giving up. The school was not as big as the Clock Tower, but it was still quite ludicrous. The good thing is that he got the locations for all of his classes.

"Shiro!" Shirou turned to see Elizabeth running up to him with her two friends close behind her.

"Morning Elizabeth," Shirou nodded politely at the three. "I take it you've calmed down?"

"I can act… courdal," Elizabeth's eye twitched ever so slightly, "but if they pull anything like that, I will blast them out of existence."

"Good to know," Shirou glanced at her two friends. "So, where are you three heading?"

"Just breakfast," The bluenette (Stella, if Shirou could remember correctly) replied with a shrug. "Want to join us?"

"If you're okay with it," Shirou replied.

"I'm fine with it," Elizabeth nodded. "What about you, Jasmine?"

"I don't mind," Jasmine shook her head. "You seem fun to talk to anyways."

"Yeah… fun," Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

"What can I say? You're easy to make fun of," Jasmine snickered.

"Amen to that," Stella laughed. Elizabeth punched her friend in the arm playfully as they made their way to the dining hall.

A tick mark appeared on Rose's head as he saw Shirou hanging out with not just one, but three girls. She didn't even need to turn to see that Lubelia was feeling the exact same way. Without waiting for her rival-turned-sister, Rin stamped up to Shirou and sat next to him, his other side being taken by the wielder of Excalibur.

"Morning Rose," Shirou said idly.

"Good morning," Rose replied as she looked at the plate in front of Shirou. "You didn't cook your own breakfast?"

"You can cook?" Stella's head snapped in Shirou's direction.

"Of course he can," Lubelia sat next to Rose. "In fact, Shero is proficient in all sorts of household chores. He would make an excellent butler."

"For the last time, I'm not becoming a butler," Shirou muttered under his breath. "Anyways, I did look for the kitchen, but I couldn't find it. I was on my way back to my room when Elizabeth, Stella, and Jasmine stumbled upon me and asked if I wanted to join them for breakfast."

"I… see," Rin hesitated before moving onto the next subject. "Anyways, what classes do you have?"

"Well, I have Beginner Sword Theory with Emily Astra," Rose noticed Elizabeth wince as Shirou said the name. "I have Intro to Elemental Arts with Cassandra, which is a pleasant surprise. Then I have Astardan I with Gray Enders, Math with William, and Advanced Dueling with… Alcia… Warren…"

"Yes!" Elizabeth shot a fist in the air, only to be silenced by a glare from Shirou, Rose, and Lubelia.

"Well, I guess there's no helping it," Shirou muttered. "Anyways, when's the first class?"

"Well, considering your first class is BST with Miss Astra, probably in fifteen minutes," Elizabeth answered.

"I guess I better get going," Shirou said. He scarfed down the rest of his food.

"I'll handle your plate," Elizabeth said.

"Thank you, Lizzy," Shirou smiled before turning to the twins. "Do you have Sword Theory with me?"

"I do, but Lubelia doesn't," Rose replied with a smirk.

"Oh, get off it! I have Astardian with him and you don't!" Lubelia snapped back.

"Rose, Lubelia… please…" Shirou grumbled.

"Fine, but only for you," Rose replied. She smirked as she saw Elizabeth's reaction. "Now, shall we?"

"If you think that Sword Theory isn't important, then I'm sorry to disappoint," Emily Astra was a stern woman with white hair and red eyes. Despite having an aged appearance, her skin didn't have a lot of wrinkles. She had fairly thick glasses and had a rapier at her hip. "Knowing your opponents' swords is just as important as knowing your own and knowing how they work is the difference between life and death."

Oh, so this is what sword theory is, Shirou thought. He examined the history of Emily's sword. She was a powerful knight, that's for sure, and even though her body has weakened over time, her mind has only grown sharper.

"Here, you will learn about the most common types of swords, Sword Arts, and sword styles. There will be a lot to cover and I expect a lot from you all, especially if you want to be future knights," Emily continued as she grabbed a piece of chalk and started to write on the chalkboard behind her.

So they half chalkboards too, Shirou thought idly. Emily then drew a surprisingly accurate diagram of a longsword on the board.

"Alright, we're going to be going over longswords today," Emily unsheathed her sword and slapped the tip of it on the chalkboard, earning several flinches from the students. "Awake now, are we?"

Shirou chuckled lightly. He looked to his left to see Rose opening a notebook and dipping her quill in ink. Shirou turned his attention back to the teacher as she started to lecture. It was a fascinating lesson. Instead of the forging process and types of metal, Emily taught about the kind of person that would wield a longsword. They were earnest, down-to-earth people who preferred to get straight to the point.

Yup, that sounds like dad, Shirou thought to himself. The second he realized there was info that he could learn in this class, he also started to take notes. Time seemed to fly by, and before he knew it, the class was over.

"You are all dismissed," Emily said, "Oh, Shiro. Before you leave, can I please talk to you?"

"Of course, Miss Astra," Shirou made his way down as everyone shuffled out of the room. "Is there something you need?"

"Why, of course," Emily said as she sat down in her chair. "As far as I and the library of this Academy is concerned, you are the first person in recorded history to have unlocked the Sword Morph Art. As the Theory teacher and the archivist for all sword times and arts within this school, I would like to know a bit more about Sword Morph."

"To be honest, I don't exactly know how one stumbles across the art. I came by it accidentally myself," Shirou said his pre-planned half truth. "I've learned that I have to do certain things to unlock different forms for my sword."

"Can you demonstrate an example?" Emily asked. Shirou nodded. Finding a sword in his Unlimited Blade Works he can explain fairly easily, the married blades morphed into the Monohoshizao, the sword of Sasaki Kojiro.

"I was able to morph my sword into this blade after cutting down a swallow mid-flight," Shirou explained. He felt a pang of guilt, taking credit for something he did not do, but he shook it off.

"I see," Emily said as the swords morphed back to Shirou's preferred blades. "Would you mind telling me how you unlocked those blades? Or were they summoned like that?"

"I…" Shirou's voice quieted down to the point of a whisper. "I had to conquer myself."

"Interesting," Emily said as she took out a sheet of paper and started to write. "Thank you, Shirou. I look forward to having you in my class."

"Thank you, Miss Astra," Shirou bowed before leaving the classroom.

Shirou decided to show up to class fifteen minutes early. When he opened the door, he saw Cassandra reading a book alone.

"Good morning, Miss Cassandra," Shirou said softly. Cassandra jumped and looked up from her book before smiling and putting the book on her desk.

"Good morning, Shirou. How can I help you today?" Cassandra asked.

"I… I just wanted to thank you for not going to the knights. My parents told me about it," Shirou bowed to Cassandra. If he didn't bow to the waist, he would have noticed the young teacher's shocked expression. "I swear I'll repay this debt.

"You're just like your parents," Cassandra's expression morphed into a genuine smile. "I just did what was right."

"Regardless," Shirou stood up straight again.

"Just do well in class. I'll consider that repayment enough," Cassandra replied.

"I'll do my best," Shirou said, not taking what she said to heart at all. Shirou then took a seat as more people started to arrive.

"Ah, morning Shiro!" Mary bounded over as soon as she realized her friend was there.

"Oh, Mary. How are you feeling?" Shirou hadn't seen the young girl ever since she was hit by Rose's gandr. "I'm sorry about Rose, by the way. I assure you she won't be doing that again."

"I felt a little sick for a couple days, but I feel much better now!" Mary said with a wide smile. "I really have to learn what she did, though. That thing really hurt."

"Both Rose and Lubelia know how to do it. Feel free to ask them," Shirou said. If Rose is going to shoot a literal child with a curse, she's going to have to face the consequences. "I'll introduce you to her during lunch."

"Really? Thank you!" Mary clapped her hands together as her eyes started to sparkle. The two continued to chat as the rest of the class entered.

"Alright, everyone, welcome to Intro Elemental Arts. My name is Cassandra and I'll be your teacher for this year," Cassandra introduced herself with a small smile. "Now, I know you all probably don't want me to talk about how fire works for an hour, so instead we'll be going outside to see if you can unlock it for yourself."

Excited chatter swept through the class like wildfire. Mary looked particularly excited.

"Follow me. Please keep together and follow me," Cassandra stood up from her chair. "I wouldn't want any of you to get lost."

With that, the class stood up and followed Cassandra out of the room.

"Alright, I want all of you to stand in rows of five. When I call your name, I'll show you where to stand," Cassandra said. She started to assign people to places. Once she was done she swung her sword twice. With the first swing, shot up from the ground. WIth the second, they were lit on fire.

"How many of you have Hardening?" Cassandra asked. Shirou, Mary, and a couple other students raised their hands. "If so, you can use your hand. If not, use your sword. The more you're exposed to the element, the more powerful your art will be."

Shirou activated his Hardening Art. Not only did it make his body more durable, but it also numbed his pain receptors to account for the body's durability. He was almost certain he wouldn't even feel the small fire. He immediately stuck his hand in the fire.

Huh, it kinda tickles, Shirou thought to himself. He looked down at his swords and examined them. Thanks to his analysis, he was able to track the progress of his Arts in real time. He didn't expect for the Art to develop this fast, but he wasn't complaining.

It only took five minutes and Shirou unsheathed Kanshou and cut the makeshift torch in half. Each half had a smile fire protruding from it.

"Ah, I didn't expect someone to get it this fast. You must have had previous exposure to the element," Cassandra smiled. Thanks to Shirou's trained eyes, he could see her smile twitch. He may be dense, but he wasn't stupid.

"My parents explained it to me after I unlocked Hardening," Shirou explained. He usually wasn't good at lying, but he had practice lying about the fire. "I sought out the fire myself."

"How did that turn out?" Cassandra asked. Instead of answering, Shirou looked away, earning himself some muffled laughter from his students.

"Well, since you have already unlocked fire, why don't we take things to the next level?" Cassandra asked. With a swing of her sword, the wood was back, but this time, the fire was blue. "I suggest you use your sword for this one."

Astardan and Math were both tedious to go through. Despite both him and Lubelia getting perfect marks on their tests, they were still put in the intro class. Apparently Lubelia and Rose had extra classes with Emily, much like Shirou and Elizabeth had with Alcia, and they got in the way of the higher level courses.

Astardian was actually not that hard for Shirou to get a grasp on. It was a mishmash between English, German, and Spanish along with some words and characters he didn't know, but once Shirou got the hang of the basics, learning the more advanced parts of the language wasn't all too difficult.

Math, however. They were covering basic multiplication and division. Shirou almost fell asleep in class. Sure, he wasn't the best student, but he passed calculus by the skin of his teeth. If he didn't respect his teachers for the work they did, he would have been out like a light.

Now, Shirou was heading to the field for what would possibly be his hardest class. Shirou has had to fight dead apostles, the likes of Gilgamesh, and even himself, but right now, he was a twelve-year-old boy.

"Shiro!" As he entered the open field, he saw Elizabeth and Alcia waiting for him.

"Good afternoon Elizabeth, Miss Waren," Shirou addressed the two respectfully. "It's a pleasure to be here."

"No need to be so stiff," Alcia waved her hand dismissively. "Good to have you here. Elizabeth speaks highly of you."

"I've heard," Shirou flicked his eyes over to Elizabeth, who instantly turned red.

"W-what are we going to be doing today?" Elizabeth turned to Alcia to look away from her friend.

"Well first thing's first, I want you two to spar," Alcia stabbed her sword into the ground. "I don't want to see either of you holding back."

"Sure," Elizabeth smiled as she unsheathed Excalibur. "You think I'll be able to beat you this time?"

Shirou's respectful smile morphed into a smirk fine-tuned to infuriate twin-tailed tsunderes the world over.

"Not a chance in hell."
