71: Nosy Bitch

"What happened?!"

Felicia was shocked. They were swinging just a while ago, and then, and then Spider-Man seemed lost somewhere in his mind. Felicia had yelled at him to come back from wherever he was in his mind. But, all her attempts had been in vain, and he hadn't come back.

They'd fallen down on a terrace, that much she remembered at least. Then, she remembered the pain. A lot of pain. Only pain and nothing else.

She'd fallen unconscious, Felicia didn't remember anything after that. But she knew that she'd been injured. Quite badly so. But now that she was looking at herself, she wasn't injured at all. There were some scratches, sure, but there wasn't any injury.

She didn't know what had happened, but she was certain that it had something to do with Spider-Man.

She'd flickered back and forth between consciousness, and unconsciousness, so she remembered him hugging her body.

It was a… weird feeling.

It was warm… and soothing. Calm, warm, and a bubbly feeling. She felt… protected for the first time in, like, forever.

"I was distracted; we fell down. I'm sorry." His voice was gentle, and a bit worried.

Felicia wanted to yell at him, but the sincerity in his voice made her hesitate. Should she yell at him? It was his fault to begin with.

But she couldn't.

Not with him being this worried about her.

This reminded Felicia too much of the incident with Peter. She'd blamed him for nothing, and he even helped her in return. This made her feel really bad, but she couldn't bring herself to apologize to him.

Her pride didn't allow it. As Felicia Hardy, she couldn't apologize to a guy. It was stupid, but she couldn't.

"Anyways," Spider-Man said. "Let's go. Jessica still needs us, no?"

Felicia was hesitant, thinking, what if he dropped her again? She'd be injured, again, and he'd probably heal her again. Which she didn't mind. The way she felt so much warmth, a warmth she desired so much, it made her want it more.

But she knew it was wrong.

So, she distracted her mind by thinking about cats.

Spider-Man, however, seemed to misunderstand.

"Don't worry, I won't drop you, not again."

Felicia blushed, but hid it well by going behind him and climbing his back again.

Spider-Man caught her, but didn't touch her inappropriately like before. He really seemed sorry, and it made her feel bubbly in her stomach.

Meanwhile, Peter wasn't thinking about touching her, or anything about her in general, at all. He was, instead, staring at the translucent panel in front of him.

More specifically, the [Assimilation].

It was at [8%] and wasn't moving more, it was stuck there.

He knew every thing there was about himself. He who was made of three beings, their past, what they were, and they are, what he is. He knew that. There was no gap In his memories.

So, why was it stuck on eight percent? Was there a reason? What could he do about it?

Peter sighed, putting more focus on swinging since he didn't want to fall again. Other than that, he was bored with how much time it was taking them to get to her house. He usually teleported, so this was a really tedious thing to do for him.

Anyways, Peter had some suspicions about the system and what it really is. Say, the system had everything laid for him. The quests, tasks, skills, and even more. More so, even when he didn't have a clue as to how he could gain memory fragments for his memories, the memories suddenly erupted inside his mind.

Peter would admit now, he was a pawn in some greater scheme. Someone was above him, watching all the time.

Peter probably had something he needed to accomplish for that being, it was just that he didn't know what it was yet.

Although it was worrying, Peter would prefer to not think about it. Why? He couldn't do shit about it, not for now anyway.

So, he wouldn't mull over it for now, and deal with it when it eventually came. Just like the MCU plot, Peter was preparing, but not as much as he should.

He was getting confident, and he knew it. There was a very thin line between confidence and arrogance, and Peter knew it well.

He was just that confident in being able to make it through alive.

After swinging for a while, during which Felicia kept pointing directions, they finally arrived at Jessica's house.

"Finally," Felicia grumbled as she jumped down and smirked at him, moving her hand to point at the house. "Let's go!"

Peter sighed, and caught her wrists, forcing her into her spot.

"Calm your tits," he said. "What do you think you're doing barging in like that? You do know how we're dressed, right?"

"Oh," Felicia muttered dumbly, Peter could practically see the gears turning in her head as she understood the situation they were in. "So what should we do?"

In the end, she asked him.

Seriously, Peter wanted to ask her how she was able to rob so many places without getting caught. She wasn't dumb, so why was she acting this way?

Peter sighed.

"We find her room, and climb in through the window."

Yeah, like that was any better, but it was still something.

Jessica Jones was sitting in her room. She was quite distracted. Her mind was not on her surroundings, but instead on the 'meeting' she had with her sister, Patricia.

She found out about her superpowers. Apparently, when Jessica had jumped up due to fright and flown, Patricia had watched it all.

So, in the end, Jessica was confronted about this by her sister.

She had to tell the truth. Patricia was mildly excited, but she managed to hide it well, Jessica still knew though.

…She just hoped this would break the ice between her and her new adoptive sister.

Jessica was done being alone, she… she wanted someone too.

– Knock

– Knock

Jessica stiffened slightly. Then, her neck creaked as she moved her head to look in that direction.

…what?

What was Peter doing here?

Actually, it was Spider-Man that was there, but, she knew that he was Peter.

But why was he here?

…Did he want her now? Did he grow impatient?

Jessica felt weird.

But then her eyes fell on the girl on his back, and she swiftly snapped out of it.

He was here for some other business, surely.

Why else would he bring another woman?

…Unless he was fucking this girl too, and wanted to have a t-threesome with Jessica, him, and that girl.

It was wrong… but strangely hot.

Jessica slapped her cheeks, which were beet red by now, and she bolted up, practically running up to the window and opening it.

The window opened with a creak, and Peter-... No, Spider-Man jumped inside with the woman on his back.

Then, they both looked around her room, and she grew self-conscious and started searching for any undie she might have had lying around.

…F-fuck!

Her eyes widened as she saw it, but quickly ran up to it and threw it under the bed.

Spider-Man was looking away, but she was sure he saw it… how embarrassing.

Jessica blushed further.

The girl seemed awkward, but Jessica didn't care about that.

"Um… hello, Jessica."

Surprisingly, it was the girl that initiated the conversation instead of Spider-Man.

Not that Jessica minded, of course.

"Hi…?"

Jessica wasn't sure as to how she should be reacting in this situation, at all.

"Let me get straight to it," The girl in black tight clothing, which was quite revealing on some parts, said with a no-nonsense tone.

Jessica was confused.

"I saw you vanishing with Peter Parker, and then, you came back with bruises on your wrists, and some on your face. That, I've seen with my own two eyes. I don't know about your body though." The woman's gaze turned soft. "I want to tell you that if you're being harassed, touched inappropriately"—the girl gave Spider-Man a stink eye—"or being blackmailed into doing anything explicit. You can tell us, or the police. Don't stay silent and suffer, you have a right to voice out."

Jessica was, more than ever, confused at whatever nonsense this weird woman was saying.

This ruled out the possibility of a threesome, which was disappointing and worrying. Disappointing since there wouldn't be a threesome, and worrying that she was even thinking of this stuff in the first place.

In any way, Jessica had come to one single conclusion.

This woman was misunderstanding the situation quite a lot. Peter, aka Spider-Man, had not done anything inappropriate to her.

Jessica stared at the man's direction, and he just shrugged.

Jessica sighed.

"Uhm, miss?" She asked.

"Oh," the woman blinked. "I'm Black Cat."

Black Cat?

Jessica raised an eyebrow.

Anyways,

"Peter didn't do anything," Jessica said, confidence in her voice. "In fact, he's been helping me train; hence the bruises. As you might know, I have powers, and I can't control them. He's helping me, so don't slander him bitch."

Though she had a calm facade, Jessica was more than annoyed with this Black Cat.

Peter wasn't that bad. But this bitch was making him like that just because 'she' saw him and Jessica vanishing and then Jessica coming home with bruises.

"Are you a voyeur? Why are you spying on me?" Jessica asked with anger bubbling inside her.

Seriously, what gave this bitch the right to spy?

"I just wanted to help since I thought you were being harra-"

"Well, Miss. Cat, there is a world outside of what 'you' think. So don't be nosy, no one likes that." Saying so, Jessica moved toward her bed, happy inside at the thumbs-up Peter was giving her.

"Now, if you would kindly leave?"

Jessica said and slumped on her bed.

Black Cat had visibly deflated, and her eyes were a bit lost.

"Come on," Spider-Man sounded, and Jessica peaked to look at them.

Spider-Man picked the cat up and jumped out the window.

Just like that, they were gone.

Felicia was quite shocked.

Jessica… Felicia just wanted to help that girl… so why did she berate her instead?.

Now that she thought of it, Felicia did just assume a lot of shit on her own, acted immaturely, and misunderstood the situation more than it was.

She even blamed poor Peter.

The boy was innocent.

And she'd been horrible to him.

…Fuck.

"Haah," she sighed. "What should I do?" And muttered to herself.

She wasn't sure what to do.

After that boy in the first year of the school tried to take advantage of her and ràpe her, she'd beaten him up, and saved herself.

But maybe… maybe she'd unconsciously constructed big walls around herself? Walls that forced her to stay alone. Walls that barred others from approaching her since she'd just assume the worst of them?

Jessica was right.

There is a world outside of whatever one thinks. And she or any person for that matter, should look at that perspective and see what they do wrong.

"Um," Spider-Man sounded, "How about starting with treating that boy to a meal? Apologize to him? Come straight, no need to be ashamed of whatever you did to him."

Felicia stared at him in confusion before realizing that he was answering her previous query.

"Yeah…" Felicia muttered. "You're probably right."

Alas, she was being played around. If she were to see the grin splitting Peter's face as of now, she would've beaten him up with a thousand bats and still feel the desire to beat him more.

But oh well, some things are best if left hidden away than shown to the world.
