Harry had at one point thought that breaking things off with Ginny would be emotionally the hardest thing that he had ever done as he was risking his whole relationship with his surrogate family. The more he had gotten involved with his Wizarding heritage though he realised that the Weasleys while kind to him would never be his family in the way they wanted him to be family. He could never see himself settling down with Ginny, not with her attitude and mannerisms.

He had heard plenty from Ron and Ginny since he had taken up his Lordship about turning into a stuck up pureblood. Ron had even commented how his dad had married a muggleborn and would no doubt be ashamed that Harry was turning into a peacock like Malfoy. Harry knew differently though, from starting to read through family journals that he had found in his family vault at Gringotts he knew what his family was all about. The Potters unlike the Blacks had never cared about blood status, they were more about intelligence and attributes.

Having looked through some of the journals and through old newspapers it was apparent to him that a Potter spouse, because sometimes the Lord's bonded had been a man and hadn't that surprised Harry, was always dignified, intelligent and above all had impeccable manners. From what he knew of his parents and of the time around the first war they didn't attend many societal functions, but his mother had been thought highly of by the Matriarchs of Society and had been accepted as a Lady despite being muggleborn.

Ginny was too brash for the role of Lady Potter, he had considered trying to roughen out the edges by asking Lucius to recommend someone to tutor her in the things that she obviously hadn't been taught, but he had thought that might have been too much of a battle. Upon further thought he had realised that he didn't think that it was worth the effort, if there had been more of a relationship between them to try and salvage he may have bothered, but as it was the only things they really had in common was a love on quiddich and the Weasley family, neither of which things were a stable foundation for a relationship.

As for losing members of the family, it was obvious to him that his friendship with Ron and Ginny had run its course. Mrs Wealey would probably no longer welcome him either, and Mr Weasley would follow her lead. The twins were his business partners, so he doubted they would freeze him out completely, and the elder boys, well perhaps they would listen to his side of the story. Regardless of that he had Hermione, and he knew that she would stick by him no matter what happened, and that was all he needed really.

He would admit that it had been quite daunting facing the Weasleys en masse, but really only Ron and Mrs Weasley had anything to say, the others were waiting to find out exactly what was going on. He would be forever grateful to the twins who had silenced and stuck Ron to his chair, allowing him the chance to get upstairs to talk to Ginny.

As he had closed the door behind him he raised a silencing charm around the room, he wasn't going to allow Ginny the pleasure of having everyone hear her shouting herself hoarse at him. He wasn't disappointed, as soon as she realised that he was in the room with her she began her tirade, about how he was unfair to her last night, and then telling lies about her family to the paper.

"Ginny," Harry cut her off almost immediately, not allowing her to work into a proper rant, "How dare you accuse me of speaking to the papers or 'telling lies'. As for being unfair to you, do tell how I was unfair."

Ginny shot a quick look at his hand, the scar from Umbridge's quill still visible on his skin, and seemed to blanch as she realised her mistake, calling Harry a liar when she knew his stance on lies and liars. "You ignored me half the night, sent me away to talk to Narcissa Malfoy of all people, you chastised me in front of a full table of people and you wouldn't explain to me your girlfriend about you and Hermione."

Harry snorted at her list of grievances with him. "I hardly ignored you, just because you had nothing to contribute to the conversations I was involved in and wouldn't join in or even spend the time listening properly doesn't mean I ignored you. Growing up with 6 siblings you would have had plenty to say about the benefits about growing up as a group of children and could have commented on quite a few of the conversations I had about the children and the orphanage."

Ginny just stared at him, "I was there to have fun, not talk about the orphanage, it's all you seemed to talk about or mention."

"Ginny," Harry started, exasperated already with her, "It was a charity ball in aid of the orphanage of course I was going to mention it. I am still trying to get people interested in funding the project." He paused for a moment before continuing to speak. "As for sending you away when I was talking with Narcissa Black," He stressed the name Black trying to get her to see that it was a family matter, "What we were talking about was a family matter that Narcissa didn't want spoken of in front of others."

He could tell that Ginny wanted to speak, but he just wanted to get this over with so he continued, "I may have chastised you, but you were completely rude and without manners butting into conversations and trying to air mine and Hermione's private business all over the ball. I know that you feel that it is your right to know these things as my girlfriend, but frankly my family dealings are none of your business unless I decide to tell you."

"You shouldn't be speaking to me this way Harry, you know that you will regret this, once you realise all this society stuff is nonsense, you will regret treating me like this." Ginny tried to guilt him into an apology, "I'll forgive you though if you set the papers straight about me and mum and take me dancing tonight."

Harry laughed, "I will be setting the papers straight Ginny, but we won't be going out again, in fact we won't be going out together ever again. I'm done Ginny, no more trying to guilt me into things or tease and tempt me into doing what you want. We're over."

He didn't give her time to respond, he just turned and left, leaving her looking stunned and working up to a rant. He made his way to the kitchen before she started to yell, he knew she would be yelling, but thankfully he hadn't removed the silencing charm. He and Hermione left quickly after that, retreating to the safety of their home where he sent off his letter to the media and spent the rest of the day relaxing.
