Muriel Prewitt had seen a lot in her years, she had lived through both of the recent Wizarding civil wars, the World Wizarding War with Grindewald as well as the muggle wars, but she had never expected that she would be in the situation she was in now. Her youngest great-nephew and her only great-niece were back living with her, something that she was not all that happy with. It was one thing to shelter her family during the war, it was a completely different thing to bring two of them back to tutor them. She had been enjoying her solitude, but she was unwilling to allow the youngest members of the family to damage the families' reputation even if they were considered Weasleys first and foremost.
By the time they left her house they would be able to act respectably in public or she would have Charles cast them out of the family. The young heir had given in to her demands accepting the Lordship and representing the family, William was also taking her advice and was taking up the reigns of the Weasley family. While they no longer had a place in the House of Wizards or held a Lordship they should still be properly represented in society if they ever wanted to gain their standing back. She had a feeling that William would be the one to do it with the help of the entrepreneurial twins, if their younger siblings didn't blow it for them.
Ginevra needed a lot of work, she would never be a society wife, she didn't have what it would take to flourish in society or navigate her way she had shown that already. The best Muriel could hope for her was a strong career and a match with a minor house. She intended to interrogate the girl about her education later having tackled her elder brother first. Muriel knew that both of their educations had been interrupted due to the war but Ginevra had returned to Hogwarts to complete school and sit her NEWTs. Her results were not the best Muriel could have hoped for, mostly Es with an O in Defence, but at least it would be a foundation to work from.
Her youngest great-nephew on the other hand had a sense of entitlement that eclipsed all his other qualities. For some reason he believed the world owed him something and that he needn't work towards his goals. He had returned to Hogwarts only briefly after the war ended, leaving with his friends but declining to sit his NEWT exams at the Ministry like Lord and Heiress Potter-Black had done. The Ministry had offered anyone who had felt they were unable to return to Hogwarts after the war the option to sit the NEWTs at the Ministry, earlier of course than they would have done originally due to the testers being required in Hogwarts at that time.
Still Ronald believed that he should have been accepted into the Auror force on the merit of his part in the final battle, regardless of the fact that he had no NEWTs to his name, not even in Defence. He blamed Lord Potter-Black and his unwillingness to sign up for Auror training and later his pursuit of a Mastery in History as the reason why he had not been accepted. In his opinion because Lord Potter-Black had rejected the offer from the Aurors they hadn't accepted his application as obviously the plan would have been to partner them together. Knowing that would not have been the case as potential applicants were judged on their own merit Muriel put in a request for Ronald's feedback in order to show him that it would have been his lack of education that had held him back.
She had discussed the situation with William and they were both in agreement that Ronald would either be going back to school or starting an apprenticeship. His second choice career, quiddich player, was not a long term solution, the game not providing more than a few years of work. There was only a few years of job stability and even then that was only if you kept at the peak of physical fitness, which Ronald wasn't, and didn't become seriously injured.
William had flooed over so that they could discuss the options with him. They had gone through all the options with him and sent him off to think about the decision. He could return to Hogwarts, attending classes with those two years younger than him, and work hard to bring his grades up to an acceptable level that he would be considered for the Auror program. Or while he was there he could work towards another career while trying to be scouted for one of the quiddich teams that sent scouts to the Hogwarts games. If he pursued quiddich though Muriel was insistent that he continue to study to have another form of employment should his quiddich career fizzle out. As for apprenticeships he could either apprentice in a trade or hope to find a Master of a subject who would be willing to take on a student with only an OWL grade. He could perhaps apply to Auror program that way if he attained a Defence Mastery, but it would be difficult to find a Master who was willing to take on the risk of an OWL only apprentice. His last option in relation to Mastery would be self study like Lord Potter- Black was undertaking, something much easier with a theoretical subject than a practical one, and something she didn't believe her great-nephew would be able to do, self directed study would not be the most logical path for him.
Ronald had not seemed happy with the options presented to him, but he seemed to realise that some form of education was in his future whether he liked it or not. Muriel was almost certain that he would not be returning to Hogwarts, the idea of taking classes with the year below Ginny's class had not sat well with him. It would be his decision to make, but she felt that a magical trade was probably his best option.
Ginevra seemed to have heard her brother's options, no doubt eavesdropping with the twins products, and seemed ready to discuss her own education. Although she too had quiddich as her dream job, she was more realistic about the job and hadn't been scouted by any team during her last year at school. She also hadn't ruled out other options, despite her turbulent year at school in the run up to the end of the war she had discovered that she had an aptitude for healing. She had taken all the right courses while at Hogwarts to pursue healing as a field of study, even if her grades were not exemplary. Muriel had, despite her misgivings, allowed her to still pursue quiddich as an option, she could pursue her dream of being a chaser only if she also worked towards becoming a healer.
She could attend the open tryouts for the Holyhead Harpies, but she would also be signed up for Healer training. If she did manage to get a place on the team then Muriel would make sure that William and Charles were present for the contract negotiations and that allowances for Ginevra's continued schooling were made. Muriel did have an ulterior motive in that Ginevra with her lessons with her as well as healing training, and potentially a quiddich career as well would be too busy to spend time with many young men. It would mean there was less chance in her being involved in any more scandal, which was more than Muriel could take at the moment.
Her lessons with them would begin the next day, first she needed to fortify herself for the task ahead. Some silence, a good book and a few glasses of brandy were just what the healer ordered
