80: Level-Up! [01]

Peter opened a portal back to the warehouse and walked inside swiftly. Then, he walked up to the unconscious Yuri and cast several check-up spells to make sure that she was absolutely fine. And as it turns out, she was unequivocally fine.

In fact, too fine.

Peter frowned.

'Why are her vitals so… optimal?'

Right, they were too fine to be human.

Peter had a bad premonition.

But he couldn't do anything right now to prove it, or test it out. But it was a bullshit moment because he knew that what he was thinking right now had more than a fucking 90% chance of happening.

Peter sighed, and slumped down beside Yuri, and hugged her tight. It was a long day, and he was a bit tired; physically, not really, but mentally? Sure.

Oh man, this is so boring…

Peter sighed… he wished he could do something right about now and distract his mind.

From what he could gather from the spells he cast on Yuri; she was going to be asleep for a long time. Probably even a full day or so. Hmm. Now, what could he do?

His protection spell fucked up pretty badly today, so maybe he could improve on that?

Right, let's do that.

Peter stood up, and gave Yuri a long peck before running up to a faraway corner so he wouldn't end up disturbing Yuri. Then, he scooted some tables here and there, and boom his research facility was ready.

To be completely honest, Peter wasn't sure why he was even bothering with this. He could easily buy a lot of equipment. And by a lot, he really means A LOT! He's a fucking millionaire now, so that stuff ain't that freaking hard to acquire.

"Hmm, maybe I should go on a shopping spree with Gwen? I can buy some stuff as well. Yes, let's do that."

He needed to buy a lot of stuff.

Anyways, Peter drew the spell form and everything related to it on a paper, and started looking for flaws or any loopholes he might have left behind.

It was perfect as far as he could tell, there wasn't any flaw. But he might have become arrogant here, otherwise, he would have found out the moment Yuri was drugged and taken away, or whatever Cletus used on her.

Peter continued looking at the spell for a long time, but he couldn't spot any mistakes. Why? Because he'd used the Ancient One's spell as a base. Kind of like tracing a drawing, but Peter also knew what he was doing since he knew spell forms and the geometric shapes that were used to create spells.

Peter just sat there on the chair, staring at the spell for a few hours, trying to find any mistakes.

But after a certain amount of time, he realized how big a dum-dum he was being here. There was no 'mistake' or 'loophole' per se. The problem was something else entirely.

The spell itself was wrong. Now, there wasn't anything wrong with the spell itself, but the way he was utilizing it was wrong.

So, you see, this spell was something Peter made combining an alarm spell that would alert you when triggered by some special conditions, and a little spell to protect the individual on who the spell was cast on from any and every kind of outside influence, harm, or anything of the sort.

And the problem here was that even though the spell was working perfectly fine, and it was protecting Yuri, the first spell was confusing the two spells because they contradicted some of the conditions, creating a little problem.

Take it as the spell worked like a really advanced AI, it worked perfectly, but sometimes, some little things can interfere.

The solution for this was pretty simple.

Peter just had to rearrange the spell forms and geometric formations in a way that they wouldn't interfere with one another.

So, Peter did that quickly, and voila, the spell was perfect.

Peter smiled at this little achievement of his, and quickly opened up several portals around New York. Then, he re-cast the spell on everyone he'd cast it on before. Well, there wasn't anything strange except one thing. He found Jen showering. She was surprised to see him there, but Peter had no time for bitches or pussy right now, so he waved her goodbye and cast the spell before closing the portal.

How fortunate that his mask was on right now. But, oh well, Peter didn't really care if Jennifer came to know of his identity. As far as his plans went, Peter wasn't going to remain hidden forever. At least until the New York invasion, he'd hide behind a mask, but after that? No shit baby, he needed his freedom to act without anyone interfering.

And he'd definitely be stronger than most by that point, so it wasn't stupid of him to reveal himself. Although he wouldn't reveal his identity himself. He'd like to keep it a secret for as long as possible, but even if it got revealed, he wouldn't give a shit.

Seriously, from how things were going, he was certain that he'd fuck up someday, and his identity would be revealed to the public. It wasn't really easy nowadays to hide, especially where the world was going. Of course, if he weren't taking the bullshit magic known as plot armor into account.

If plot armor was involved, anything was possible. The fucking Batman was an example of that.

Actually, now that Peter thought of it, was the DC universe also out there somewhere?

If the Marvel universe was real, DC would be too, right? And many other universes also?

Of course, Peter chuckled.

He stood up; now that he was done with this, he needed to do something else. He'd realized something after Yuri got kidnapped. He needed to get his shit fucking together. He'd been lazing around for far too long.

Sure, he knew himself better than anyone, so he was sure that he would end up fucking around in the end anyway, but that didn't matter. Instead of staying passive as he had been till now, he thought that it was time for him to take things a bit more seriously.

So, Peter did what any sensible teleporter would do in your generic cliché Marvel fanfic, especially one relating to Spider-Man.

Stealing every single fucking thing from Oscorp.

"Heh," Peter chuckled, closed his eyes, and snapped his finger for useless dramatics. Then, within a few seconds, multiple portals opened up inside the Oscorp tower, and in just but a few minutes, the whole tower was empty of the most valuable tech—for Peter anyway. Peter only stole things that could be useful to him.

Today, Peter found out that it wasn't that difficult for him to become strong if he put his mind and body into it. Like, he fucking stole Oscorp of their most valuable shit, imagine how much time it would take him to do something even bigger?

Like, a few fucking days?

Wow. It was a bit surprising. Peter had never really considered this.

Anyways, Peter quickly sent the stuff he 'borrowed' from Oscorp inside the mirror dimension. There might be some sort of trackers in there, so he sent it there instead of gathering it inside the warehouse.

Now, he quickly went inside and searched for any tracker.

There were none, which was a bit strange. But maybe it was due to Osborn's arrogance that no one could steal from there.

Oh well, heh, Peter laughed.

It will be fun watching Oscorp's downfall. Though Peter doubted Osborn would go down without a fight.

Meh, he wasn't that big a deal.

Anyways, it was already nearing morning, and Peter had spent enough time inside the mirror dimension already. So, instead of staying inside there and sorting things out, Peter went outside. He'd sort them out some other time, it would take some time, after all.

Anyways, Peter brought everything out and moved them into the basement of the warehouse. Then, he scooted everything here and there, found some lab equipment, and set up a temporary lab.

He needed to research and make his loved ones stronger.

Maybe super soldier serum? Combine it with something else, maybe? That Extremis thingy? Maybe that flower thingy from Wakanda?

"Hmm, I need to find those things first, I doubt Extremis even exists at this point."

But maybe there might be some kind of research on it? Something to look for later.

Now, what was next?

What could he do?

"Aha!" He slammed his fist on his palm as a lightbulb lit inside his head.

Hulk, She-Hulk, Electro, and some other people, he had their blood, no? There was the spider that bit Gwen too…

Peter sighed, so much to do.

Anyways, Peter could use that blood, maybe research some, and level himself up.

Both him, and his system. It was time he did that, after all, it had been a while.

He should have enough SP, and even if he didn't have enough, he could go on a quick hunt.

So, Peter took out the blood samples, and started working on them, using the lab equipment he found from Oscorp.

He wouldn't have to buy some himself now.

Wait, he might have to if someone else was going to use his lab, since he didn't want to be accused of stealing from Oscorp.

He wanted some other stuff too, maybe he could buy toys and things for his baby too?

Hmm, again, something to look later.

Peter sighed, and got absorbed in his research; he wasn't going to go to school for a few days.

He'll text Gwen if she got worried, though.

Anyways, Peter picked up some ultra epic headphones from his [Inventory] and put them on. Soon enough, music blasted into his ears and he started bobbing his head to the beats, all while researching and experimenting.

As her eyes fluttered open in a familiar yet so much different place than she remembered, Yuriko Watanabe was left speechless.

She'd just woken up too.

Wait… when did she fall asleep again?

She didn't remember sleeping, all she remembered was that… she was walking down a road, and then, and then… nothing...?

Yuriko stood up, and immediately stumbled. Her legs were wobbly, and she wasn't feeling so well. Her head spun a bit, and her vision blurred, trembling as she grabbed whatever was near her for support.

– Crash!

Something fell down and broke away, but she didn't care about that. Her vision was wobbling.

It took some time, but everything returned to normal.

Some strange, incomprehensible gibberish of a whisper echoed into her head.

'What was that?'

She questioned in her head, a confused look on her face. But as she didn't come to any kind of conclusion, Yuriko shrugged it off, and stood up straight, looking around in confusion.

…It was… the warehouse.

But it was so much messier here than she remembered.

Yuriko frowned, and looked around, again, just to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. It could be just that, after all, she was having some sort of difficulty just a few moments ago.

Anyways, maybe she should find Peter? He should be here, right?

'He's been working like a madman,' a voice whispered. There was still some incomprehensible sense to it, but it was a bit more recognizable for her now.

Who was this?!

Yuriko was startled, and with a pale look on her face, she looked around, trying to spot whoever it might be. Was she in danger?

'Calm down, I'm…'

Lord_Kismet: who could it be? I dunno myself, I promise. Anyways, I wanna ask, do you want a laid-back chapter full of fluff? Peter and Gwen's shopping spree? Tell me and I'll write one, or I'll skip it and just explain in a few sentences.

Anyway, if this is what you think it is, then who was the one in the end of the last chapter?
