Deadshot

Chapter 18

-Harry-

"You ready boyo?" Zane asked with a grin, the assassin leaning against the wall outside the Southpaw Steam and Power facility. Athena was sitting on a railing nearby, sharpening her sword as Harry checked his guns.

"As I'll ever be." Harry nodded, readying his pistol and ensuring it was loaded. He'd needed more money to keep fixing up the mech he found, and his new mentors had decided to turn it into a test for him. Of the four assassins hiding out with the bandits in here he had to kill each one a different way. The first with a pistol, second with a sniper rifle, third with a melee attack, and the last with a shotgun.

"I still say it's dumb that I can't help." Angel grumbled with a huff.

"It's a test for the boyo's assassin skill." Zane chuckled, "Kinda defeats the purpose if you go in with him, both o ya guns blazin. Once he's killed off the four assassins, then the both of ye can go gallivanting through bandit blood to yer hearts content."

"What the idiot said." Athena nodded, "This is a test for both Harry's skills and the gear he's gotten or built. If you really want, we can find a test for you to do later or a quest for just the both of you."

"Sounds romantic." Angel snorted dryly but relented as Harry readied his gun and snuck into the building, the others following and observing unseen.

He'd started to learn how to move silently back with the Dursleys, having to sneak out whenever he could at night to get food. At Hogwarts with the cloak, he'd figured out how to make no noise even without any spells.

Pulling out the dossier, he started checking the faces as he climbed up high, moving along the pipes running along the ceiling. He saw nomads, psychos, and marauders aplenty before he spotted his target.

Wot, the Hyperion Assassin walking around with a Badass Psycho guarding him.

Pulling out the first of the gadgets he'd managed to prototype with Zane's help, Harry threw the small disk. It flew before attaching to a wall in the large pit nearby, releasing sound as the psychos started charging for it, trying to find someone to kill.

Wot on the other hand looked nervous, eyes flitting about as the cowardly Hyperion agent worked to find some cover. Moving quickly, Harry readied his Jacobs, having managed to make a silencer with Zane's help as he fired of a couple of rapid shots, the first hitting hard enough to take down the shield while the second went through Wot's eye, the two shots grouped tight. Not pausing, he moved quickly to loot the dead Hyperion agent for any loot or intel.

Finding a Hyperion marked Echo log, Harry used a grapple gun Zane had loaned him to get back to the ceiling pipes, moving onward to the next area, having a plan in mind.

Getting to the position he wanted by the staircase that led deeper into the facility, Harry waited till he heard the confused shout of the psychos returning and finding the dead body of their comrade.

From the reports, the second assassin would be just close enough for his group of bandits to overhear the commotion. And sure enough, a couple nomads started herding the Psychos, shields out in case of a threat. The shields of a nomad were notorious for limiting the ways to take them out unless one managed to get them to grandstand and lower their guard or find a slot to shoot through.

When shooting from the front at any rate.

His sniper rifle let out a muffled crack as it hit the second Hyperion agent in the back of the head, this one staying at the back of the group. Moving before the bandits noticed, Harry scooped up what the Hyperion Assassin dropped and hurried down the stairs.

Keeping his breathing even as best he could, Harry continued to crawl along the pipes running along the ceiling. The next assassin, Reeth, would be disguised as a psycho and has a Nomad escort. He'd have to kill this one with a melee weapon.

Getting to the next room, Harry sat silently as he observed the bandits for any patterns or routes that they might be following.

Deciding on his plan, Harry pulled the pin on a grenade and hurled it back into the hallway he came from, the explosives going off. Seeing the bandits scrambling to see what happened Harry watched and waited, dropping behind the burning psycho as he covered their mouth with one hand, the other stabbing a knife into the Hyperion agent till they stopped moving.

Panting, and now covered in blood, Harry tried not to think about that as he hurried though to the next area, doing his best not to leave a dripping trail behind. In the end, he had to leave his shirt behind and continue on bare chested to not let the soaked garment leave a trail.

"One left." He whispered to himself as he loaded his shotgun, "But how to get to…" he looked down at a pile of random bandit stuff nearby, the lunatics who lived here not being all that neat or organized. Seeing a Psycho max Harry slipped it on, grabbing a buzz saw axe as he entered the next area.

Copying the meandering shuffle, occasionally shouting Pyscho Speak as needed, Harry moved closer and closer to where the last Hyperion Assassin, one posing as a Rat, was hold up in.

Slipping to the back area, Harry spotted Assassin Reeth, the Rat's guard down right before Harry hit him with a shotgun and bolted, leaving the bandits to wonder who had done it.

Hurrying out the back, Harry tossed aside the mask as he got outside and panted, seeing his mentors appear a moment later while Angel, who'd apparently waited outside, helped him up.

"Not bad Boyo." Zane tossed him a bottle of water, "Not perfect admittedly, but not bad."

"You started running into issues after two targets were eliminated." Athena was far more blunt as she began to critique him, "You admittedly adapted well, taking advantage of having to leave your shirt behind to pose as a Psycho but it shouldn't have come to that. Your ranged assassination is good, but you clearly struggle up close. I'll have to help you work on that, plus continuing to improve your conditioning and polish up your stealth."

"Now, you two go polish your standard combat skills. Have fun kiddos!" Zane laughed as he gave the all clear to go back in, "Be sure to get em all."

"Killing bandits with some shirtless eye candy? Yes please!" Robo Angel grinned eagerly as Harry blushed, the cute cyber girl dragging him back inside to clear out the bandits.

-Gaige-

"Sup Lilith!" Gaige grinned as she strode back into the command center, "Got those Echo recordings that I absolutely totally did not listen to at all." She gave the most innocent grin she could to the deadpanning redhead, Roland trying not to snort in the corner.

"Thanks squirt." Lilith took the Echoes with the grumble, "Anyway, your brother got back a bit ago. If you're up for it, I got a mission to test how well your new 'vault Hunter team' works. Turns out I have a bit of a cult forming in the Canyon and I need you lot to make sure they're not up to anything. Sound fun?"

"Hell yes!" Gaige grinned, pumping her fist eagerly.

-Omake-

-Harry-

Yawning, Harry slumped on his couch, the group having decided to wait till the next day to go deal with Lilith's cult. He was exhausted after the extra training Athena and Zane had put him through.

Hearing a familiar ding, Harry cracked his eye open as he opened his Echo to see two messages with attachment links.

The first? A comic of a 'Royal Guard Harry' taking down a scantily clad Ninja assassin Angel and then 'punishing her' in quite creative ways. The second was a pinup of Naughty Ninja Angel with the words 'I can't be silent with you' making him blush.
