Reconnecting . . . Xana Welcomes You to Hogwarts
Chapter 1: Foreigners ~ A Whole New World
Professor Dumbledore stood in front of his students, a twinkle in his eye as he began announcing, "My dear students - please join me in welcoming our lovely transfer students from Southern France. Of course, as of any year, we must find them and the rest of our incoming students their new home for the next 5-7 years. Now let the sorting begin!" With his arms raised in the air, Professor McGonagall brought over a stool and a dusty old hat - the sorting hat. Unrolling her parchment, she sternly yelled out, "Belpois, Jeremy." A meek-looking student with blonde hair and glasses, clambered up to the chair, nearly tripping up the stairs - causing a few Slytherins to snicker in his embarrassment. Sitting nimbly on the stool, McGonagall placed the hat on his head.
"Hmm, interesting brain you have here mister Belpois." Jeremy jumped in fright as a voice echoed in his head, before he could question, the hat proclaimed loudly, "Let it be . . . HUFFLEPUFF!" A table in the middle to the left applauded, as Jeremy was guided to the Hufflepuff table.
McGonagall called out, "Della-Robia, Odd". An odd-looking boy clambered up to the stool, with yellow spiked hair and a purple spot in the middle. He sat for a minute before the hat yelled out, "Let it be . . . GRYFFINDOR!"
McGonagall announced next, "Dunbar, William." A tall boy in complete black clothing with black hair, and black eyes strolled up to the stool like he was another Malfoy in the making. It was almost comical how quickly the hat was placed near his head before it rang out, "Let it be . . . SLYTHERIN!" He continued his strut to his seat.
Clearing her throat, the professor announced next, "Ishiama, Yumi". A tall Asian girl walked confidently over to the chair, with her mid-drift exposed, and combat boots, proudly on display. Like the previous transfer, it took less than a minute to decide the girls' faith, "Let it be . . . RAVENCLAW!"
Hermione anxiously waited for her friends Ron and Harry to show up, with her senses on high alert, instantly noticing when a girl sits in the space between her and Luna. She almost immediately catches the difference between this girl and the other students around them. Having previously expected the girl to be a Slytherin, Hermione already expected that something was amiss. "Hey," She whispered annoyedly, "You're going to cost us house points. Didn't you get anything less exposing when you moved in?" Yumi, bewildered, stared at the girl next to her. Before having her attention drawn away to the next one of her friends getting called up to be sorted.
The professor began announcing again, "Stern, Ulrich." A medium-tall boy, with looks that had many girls drooling, walked over to the stool. A few minutes passed on him before the hat begrudgingly announced, annoyance clear in its voice, "Let it be . . . GRYFFINDOR!" The boy quickly hopped off the stool and sat next to Della Robia. High-fiving as he turned to the last of their group, still unsorted.
With one student left standing, McGonagall waved her up, stating, "Stones, Aelita." The girl, with her pink hair, and small stature, nimbly walked up to the professor and sat on the stool. A voice whispered in her head, as the hat was placed, "Well, call me impressed. You would do well in all the houses, but where to place you? The bravery you and your friends have expressed in your journey proves your worth for Gryffindor, but your smarts and brain make you worthy of being a raven. Your shy personality and ever-lasting loyalty show that you would prosper in Hufflepuff. But, there is still - deep down - the deception and cunning ways you and your friends fooled your previous classmates and teachers, that I believe that you would fit well in with your fellow snakes. They know how to take care of students who have been through trauma and horrors such as yourself so…Let it be . . . SLYTHERIN!" The hat finally announced. The whole great hall was silent, as the pink-haired girl shakily stood up and slowly walked to her new dormmates. She flashed her eyes to her friends, hoping that they would tell her this was a dream, just a nightmare devised by Xana. There was no way she can survive the night with Xanas right-hand man in the same dorm - let alone 7 years!
Her four friends stared on in horror. Already imagining the atrocities that might await her. The platinum blonde at the table waved her over pushing one of his friends over onto the floor. She tried to pass him but was caught by the cold grasp of his hand on her upper arm. Dragging her into the seat, he introduces himself, "The name is Malfoy, Draco Malfoy. Heir to the Malfoy Throne. I have never heard of Stone's pureblood family. Tell me, what line do you hail from? Were your parents a part of the light or dark sector? And those friends of yours - You'll find out soon that you don't need them anymore." Feeling creeped out and with a dark presence behind her, she noticed her once friend approaching her and Draco. "Hey, Malfoy! Leave Aelita alone! She's already frightened enough as is without you going twenty questions on her!" William snapped. Sticking up for the pink-haired girl who was once his friend. In a small voice - to where the now annoyed ferret couldn't hear him - William whispered to Aelita, "I hope I can begin to win your friendship back." Shocked at how normal and genuine he sounded, Aelita hoped this meant that Willaim was beginning to fight Xana's control over him. Still cautious, she slightly nodded in thanks and resumed facing the table as piles of food appeared. Watching others begin devouring, she began to eat.
Odd and Ulrich kept a close eye on William, as he sat by Aelita - grateful that he was able to stop the bleach blonde ferret from overwhelming Aelita, but still extremely cautious. They began whispering to each other, "This isn't good - she has no one to protect her. You know how awkward she was after she got out of the supercomputer, this is a whole new environment for her!"
Jeremy sitting a row over from them leaned back and whispered, "We need to try to find a way to get her away from that house!"
Yumi sat in shock as her ex helped her little sister out of an increasingly frustrating situation. How she wished she could've been the one to put that blonde boy in his place. Both physically and verbally. For now, though, she was more inclined to deal with the rude brunette sitting next to her. Of course, she knew yet another private school would bring about more snooty and spoiled kids no matter their standing, but it still registered as a shock that the first thing someone would talk to her about is the type of shirt she wore. She was inclined to say that back home that would never be a thing brought up, but then obviously, she wasn't back home. In fact, she was far from it.
