Chapter 2 ~ Morning Confrontations

Odd and Ulrich woke early to meet with their friends down in the great hall - the Gryffindor duo, anxious to see how their little sister and other friends were feeling. The last they saw of Yumi before being dragged to their tower common rooms, was a look of annoyance as a bushy-haired girl with buck teeth lectured and made snide comments to her. Jeremy looked skeptical but at home with his fellow Hufflepuffs - despite the longing looks towards his almost-girl-friend Aelita.

Odd raised his hand in excitement, exclaiming, "Yumi!" Their Asian friend turned towards the sound a soft smile filling her face as she made her way toward them. Jeremy decided to join them at this point, waving away Diggory who was trying to direct him to the Hufflepuff table. Jeremy exclaimed slightly out of breath, "Guys! Thank God you're all okay! Has anyone seen Aelita? She must be scared out of her mind at this point!" The other warriors shook their heads. No one had seen anyone from the Slytherin house since the night before when everyone was ushered off to their respective dorms.

After a good 15-minute wait, there was a rumble of footsteps approaching the great hall. Many students including the warriors turned to look at the sea of silver and green - the only oddity is the one little head of pink among the throws of darkness. Her fellow Kadic transfer, walking next to her, concern on his face. Noticing the other warriors, he tried steering Aelita towards them, but Draco blocked the way with a scowl on his face, "Slytherins sit together, and definitely don't mingle with filthy mudbloods, and blood-traitors"

William using his shoulder to shove him away, grumbled out, "Hey man, cool it - this is the first time she's been away from her friends for so long - you heard the scream this morning, she didn't have a good sleep." Malfoy scowled, a soft look crossing his eyes only for a second as he searched Aelita's face. Before stiffly walking away, grumbling about idiotic transfers. Cautiously walking towards the warriors, William directed Aelita in front of him almost like a shield.

"Well isn't that comical. Tall, dark, and handsome hiding behind the princess." Odd snickered out towards his friends. Poking fun at not only the height difference between the two but also the lack of William's normal cocky demeanor.

Gulping as he stopped in front of them, he stammered, "I know you guys don't trust me much but please believe me when I say that I will do all I can to protect Aelita." Ulrich trying to defuse a situation about to brew between both sides, pipped in - "What was this we heard about Aelita not having a good night? Were some Slytherins' bothering her?" William ducked his head, and mumbled, "nightmare." Up until this point Aelita had been walking and moving like a living zombie, but she whispered, "that red flash before darkness, I keep seeing it - every time I close my eyes, I see you die." A somber look passed over the group.

A commotion on the other side of the great hall brought all the attention to a boy with red hair and freckles, and another boy with dark hair, green eyes, glass, and a nasty scare above his right eye. A screech filled the room, as Hermione yelled at them, "I should think you'd count yourself lucky that's all you got!"

Before any more discussion could be had, someone stepped behind William and Aelita, placing a hand on their shoulders, a sneer on his face, "I believe the Slytherin table is this way…you may mingle during your free period…but now is time to get your time tables. Come along you two." Professor Snape walked them off back towards the Slytherin table, where you could see a Bleach Blonde Ferret grinning ear to ear as having spoiled the new transfers' conversation.

The heads of each house then spent a good 30 minutes passing out parchments with their students time tables - many students groaned at their paired house classes. Ron Weasley could be heard complaining out loud the most with his "Double Potions with Slytherin!" Draco snickered as Aelita and William sat down across from him - the only seats available. Aelita mumbled, "potions? Do they mean chemistry?" Draco inquired, "What's chemistry?"

"Something to turn a ferret into a corpse easily." Harry piped up behind them. He flashed Aelita a small smile, as he had had the same initial confusion before. Draco scowled and mumbled, "Potter." Aelita giggled at the confrontation between the two boys, right as Draco turned fully towards Harry, and complained, "Thanks a lot scar head! Thanks to you and your idiotic blood-traitor friend's antics, Slytherin is now tied in last place with Gryffindor with -200 points!" Harry rolled his eyes at the blonde ponce and turned fully towards the newbies, "I don't think we had time to meet, I'm Harry, you're the transfers right?" Aelita elbowed William in the gut to stop his scowl, making him mumble," Huh? Oh right…I'm William and this pink-little-lady is Aelita. The three boys across the room death glaring at Malfoy over there are her friends as well as the Asian girl in Ravenclaw. We are all transfers."

"Well, I think Aelita will be fine. Looks like she already made a friend." Yumi quietly remarked toward Jeremy, leaning back in her stool to be in ear range. She let out a small snicker afterward, hearing a Slytherin very dramatically complain about the woes of his house. Something about being in the negatives in points. Something Yumi didn't even realize could happen when the point system was originally explained.

The glare Jeremy held on his face wasn't lost on her though. It was obviously directed at the blonde near Aelita and maybe even the brown-haired boy who seemed to be sticking up for her and William. She rolled her eyes and resettled on her stool. Ignoring the looks she was getting from Hermione, and focused her attention on the blonde girl next to her. Her name was Luna if she remembered correctly. She was aloof at times like Aelita could be, but definitely knew her way around the school better than most of the kids she had interacted with so far
