Chapter: Four
Orion's POV
As I woke up this morning I was about to get up and go check on Hermione like I do every morning to make sure she's okay and not in any kind of pain but then I remembered the events that happened yesterday. From asking Albus Dumbledore for permission if Hermione can stay in the safety of Hogwarts with her two older brothers to Walburga yelling at me. With out another thought about what happened yesterday I get fully out of bed and get dressed for the day before heading down stairs to get something to eat so I can get started on my research on how best to protect my family from that woman.
" Are you finally going to tell me where that little brat is? " Walburga sneered as soon as I entered into the kitchen
" Like I told you last night... Hermione is not any of your concern so I'm not telling you anything that involves my child " I say with no emotion in my voice
" That worthless brat is still my kid so I have EVERY RIGHT - " Walburga began to say
" You have NO RIGHT TO HER... How many times do I have to tell you that Hermione will never be your kid... Sure she may have half of your genes but your not her mother and you never will be " I say with so much anger in my voice and when I saw she was going to say something stupid again about my kid I turned around and walked out of the kitchen and down the hall to my office " Kreacher " I called out as soon as I got into my office and when I heard the small crake I turned to see my old house elf
" Master called for Kreacher " Kreacher said in normal voice while bowing to me
" Yes I require breakfast in my office this morning " I say in a demanding voice as I made my way over to my desk and with one last final bow Kreacher snapped his fingers and disappeared from the office to do what he was told to do and when I was left alone again I started to gather everything I need to help me get that... Woman as far away from my children as I possible can cause I already know what she has planned for Regulus since she disowned Sirius for not doing what she wanted him to do and I have always hated the idea of any of my children bowing down to anyone. Not to mention she'll try to marry my baby girl off to some worthless pureblood son when she get older to help ' extend the family line ' but I won't let any of this happen;
After three hours of researching almost everything I have here in my office I decided to take a small break so I can pack everything Hermione is going to need while she stays with her brothers at Hogwarts. I know I could just get Kreacher to do it for me but I don't trust that house elf with any of my little girl things. Since I know that creature's loyalty will always be more for that woman then anyone else in this family but at least he has a soft spot for Regulus just not any of my other children. That's only because Walburga hates my oldest and youngest children.
When it was time for me to start heading over to Hogwarts I stood up from behind my desk and walked over to where I placed all of Hermione's luggage to shrink them down. Also to place a feather light charm on all three bags before placing them in my inner pocket, and without another thought I walked out of my office and down the hall into the library where my fireplace is; When I got into the Fire Place I grabbed some Floo Powder and threw it down while softly saying " Dumbledore's Office " And in the next second I was in Dumbledore's office stepping out of his Fire Place dusting off my suit of Floo Powder
" Daddyyyy " Hermione squealed with so much happiness that I couldn't help but smile a little and when I looked up I saw she was running towards me I kneeled down a little and when Hermione was close enough I scooped her up making her giggle
" Hello my sweet little girl " I softly says so only she can hear me
" Hello " Hermione says with a big smile on her little face
" Were you in any pain today my little Mia? " I softly asked hoping she wasn't in to much pain
Hermione looked down while playing with her little fingers and after a couple of minutes she took a deep breath before sadly saying " Ummmm... I didn't start hurting until a little after breakfest and and also a little before dinner "
" Hey its okay... Why are you so sad sweet girl the healers said it would take a couple of weeks before the pain fully goes away " I softly say while slightly bouncing her up and down to try and cheer her up
" I know but... "
" But what love? "
" I want da pain to go away and and... If I get da pain to go away sooner then you be proud of me " Hermione sadly says with a little sniff at the end
" I'm always proud of you Mia never forget that okay... And the pain will go away eventually! "
" Promise? "
" I promise Mia! " I softly say with a small smile that I only show to her and when I saw her eye bright back up and the smile on her little face grow bigger I couldn't be more happier to see her in a better mood. After that I walked over to where my sons are standing and then I turned towards Dumbledore " Is there a way I can speak to my sons in private? " I add with my normal blank expression
" Yes of course you can... I have a meeting with Minerva anyways I can just go a little bit earlier then we planned " Dumbledore said as he stood up from behind his desk and once he explained he wont be back to see me off Dumbledore walked over to the Fire Place to Floo over Minerva McGonagall's office.
" Father what happened to Mia? " Regulus asks with his normal emotionless expression but I know my sons well enough to see the concern in his eyes
" A week ago I had this important business meeting at the Ministry so I basically gone all day and when I got back home I heard Mia screaming at the top of her lungs so I followed the screaming up the stairs as fast as I could and I saw that... Woman... Pointing her wand at my little girl while putting her back under the Cruciatus Curse for a just a second before I quickly disarmed her and knocked her out and I got Mia to St. Mungo's as fast as I could... I don't know how long she was under the Cruciatus... " I explained a bit more this time
" What did the healers say about Mia? " Sirius asks while looking at Hermione as she was resting her little head on my shoulder and playing with one of my suit button
" One of the healers said I was incredibly lucky to have gotten to her time before she lost her mind... Mia was in a magical coma for three days so her mind can fully heal, she also had a couple of cracked ribs on her left side and the healer said the after effects of the Crucio will last a little longer because of how young she is " I explained all of the important information that they need to know about what happened at St. Mungo's and after a couple of minutes of letting the information sink in " Once the twitching and the pain stops I want you to take her to Madam Pomfrey to make sure Mia is back to full health and I want an update when that happens! Am I clear?! " I add looking at both my sons to make sure they know how serious I am about this
" Of course father " Regulus says while nodding his head
" Good... Did you two make a schedule on who Mia stays on which days? "
" Not yet... But I was thinking it might be a good idea if Mia stays with Sirius at night cause I don't have enough trust in my fellow Slytherin's when I'm sleeping and I know you have a lot more trust in your... Gryffindor's... And we can switch days on who picks her up from Dumbledore's office and who she eats with for lunch and dinner... If that's okay with you Sirius? " Regulus says/ asks
" Yea that plan works for me... "
" Its getting late you should get Mia to bed soon... Cause someone here is getting really sleepy " I say while slightly bouncing Hermione making her giggle a little and when she yawned I knew it was time to put her to bed. " Alright my sweet little girl I gotta get going! " I softly add with a small smile
" But daddy… You just got - " Hermione tried to say but end up yawning
" I know my girl but it's getting late and your tired "
" But but - "
" No buts Hermione… You need to get to bed and your brothers need to get to bed and you know they have class tomorrow " I softly explained to Hermione and when she nodded a little I hugged her before passing her over to Sirius. Then I grabbed all of her luggage from my inner pocket and handed them over to Sirius. " Take care of your sister and remember to keep me updated on Mia's health " I add while walking over to Dumbledore's Fireplace
" Yes Father " Both Regulus and Sirius said at the same time
" Bye daddy! " Hermione says with a little wave
" Bye Mia… I'll see you soon " I say with a small wave back
" Okay " Hermione mumbles with a sleepy voice and without another word I made my way into the Fire Place and grabbed some Floo Powder and called out 12 Grimmauld Place as I threw the powder down.
