Monsters Nights Bites

"Ah! They fit perfectly! as always." Animo said, happy to have his prized mutagen antennae back in his possession. An improved version of an old prototype he built with the most... homely elements possible.

Two antennae stood on the crystal dome that was the crown of Dr. Animo's head. These two small objects were the source of his powers, the mutation, and control animals.

The man looked to the side, he was not alone in that place, Khyber, that silent and surely lethal alien who claimed to be a mercenary was there.

Although Animo was not a great connoisseur about weapons, in fact, he abhorred them especially if they were used to harm animals, he was sure that the alien was putting one together.

"Uhmm..." a deep sound came out of the alien's gills, which raised with both hands what appeared to be some sort of alien carbine, or perhaps a long-range rifle.

He watched his new companion analyze that weapon with a critical eye, it was easy to see that he was a professional in his field, as well as a perfectionist. Animo was not going to criticize him, he also liked to have things in order and in perfect condition... more or less.

"Are you ready?" the alien's deep voice brought the scientist back to reality. The mercenary now wore, in addition to his black attire, he wore metallic gloves and black boots. The part his chest and shoulders possessed a kind of armor made of bone consisting of a rib cage on his chest, a coccyx on the right shoulder, and a skull belonging to some alien species on the left.

Animal lover that he was, Animo frowned slightly, if it wasn't for the fact that this guy scared him, he would question him about his possible hobbies.

"Indeed. Are you satisfied with that thing yet?" Animo pointed to the weapon in the alien's hands. "And what's that on your chest?"

Khyber looked down, attached to his right breast was a kind of silver and red dial, with a design similar to the jaws of a predator.

"It's a souvenir." His answer was short, like all the ones he offered Doctor Animo.

"If we're going to work together to get out of here I think the right thing to do would be to, you know, communicate." The scientist arched an eyebrow as he watched the mercenary ignore him and head for the exit. " I miss when it was just me and Tennyson and not all these fancy aliens."

Frankie finished arranging an outfit on her bed that she thought was perfect for a party.

A plaid skirt to just above her knees, a black sleeveless T-shirt with a lightning bolt print, and a black shawl. Summer was just around the corner and the nights were getting a little warmer. Frankie wanted to be comfortable and cool at the same time.

Her gaze rested for a few moments on the attire on the bed. If she was honest, she was having second thoughts about whether or not she should run away from home.

Upgrade had warned her that it was all a bad idea and could get her into trouble. She could remember his words.

"Frankie, I'm going to insist, you shouldn't run away, your parents are going to be mad."

"I know! But...they..." Frankie sat down sadly and lowered her arms. "They are so overwhelming sometimes, they won't let me go to the human side of town, or let me have human friends." The girl hugged her legs pulling them closer to her chest. "I just want to... experience the world and they punish me."

The alien looked with his typical inexpressiveness at the girl, although his mind was thinking of his own experience to give her a piece of advice or a word of encouragement.

"It's hard, I understand you, there are times when parents can be a bit irrational." The alien knelt down beside her and rested a hand on her shoulder to comfort her. "But in the end, it's only because they love and care about you. My parents are the same way."

"You... have parents?" she asked with intrigue. In all the time she'd known the alien, they hadn't conversed about the previous life he'd had, and she was very curious about it after seeing the pictures on that phone.

Upgrade was hesitant to answer that question, but as he looked her in the eye he decided that just this once he could loosen his tongue a little.

"I do, and just like yours, they care a lot about me, though honestly sometimes I think they're irrational." He sat down next to her and mimicked her, pulling her legs close to his chest. "Sometimes I think they don't understand me and we argue, but I know they care about me."

Frankie listened to those words carefully. She was surprised. Surprised because she could so easily identify with him in that respect, even though he was out of space, he was still a boy like her.

"For a second there I forgot you were seventeen," Frankie said that without thinking, which earned Upgrade arched his eye as he looked at her.

"Excuse me?"

"Uh... nothing." She looked away in embarrassment, even her cheeks took on a slightly darker hue. "Maybe you're right, but they're hypocrites, they work with humans, but they won't let me be friends with one."

"Everyone thought Ben was your boyfriend, there's a difference." Upgrade pointed out with some amusement, he still couldn't believe how they came to that conclusion. "I think they're just worried. Now, let me tell you my magnificent plan."

She knew it wasn't the right thing to do. Her parents always taught her that she should be a good girl, that she should behave herself and avoid lies and bad actions, but she wanted to go to that party and dance all night with that cute human boy. Besides, she wasn't a hypocrite like them! She had no problem relating openly with humans and if she wanted to do it she was going to do it!

The thought of Jackson motivated her to go ahead with her plan.

After several minutes she came out of her room with her new outfit ready and finely folded inside a small backpack and went downstairs cautiously, she had to avoid being discovered.

As she reached the lower steps, she could see her mother sitting on the living room couch and although the television was on, the woman was more focused on some papers in her hands.

Carefully, Frankie made her way to the garage, making sure not to make any noise, she had even taken off her shoes and was only in socks to muffle the sound.

As her hand touched the door handle, her mother's voice stopped her.

"Frankie, can we talk for a bit?" she didn't need to turn around to know, Viveka was looking at her and that couldn't be a good sign. "It's about the car."

The young woman hesitated a bit whether or not she should turn and face her mother, but opted to do so, not sure what the consequences would be.

After rounding the couch where her mother was sitting and taking a seat on the opposite end, Frankie tried to remain calm, she didn't want her mother to get suspicious about her plan.

"What's the problem mom?" she asked.

Viveka took off the reading glasses she was wearing and put aside those papers that had her so focused.

"Your father and I are worried about the real origin of that car, so we decided to call the police to get to the bottom of this."

The young woman's eyes widened like saucers upon hearing that and almost by reflex she stood up and exclaimed.

"You can't do that!"

Viveka's eyes widened in surprise at her daughter's outburst, but her expression returned to serious shortly thereafter.

"Frankie, you must understand, this must be done, it's for your safety."

"My safety? How is that for my safety? You're taking away something Up… Ben gave me as a gift!"

"It's a very suspicious gift, I'm just trying to..."

"No! You're being hypocritical! You two all the time get stuff from the humans! Dad gets those college funds, you visit some of your students' parents, I even know you have dinner with them! Why can't I have something given to me by a human!?"

"Frankie, listen to me, we're just trying to take care of you."

"Take care of me from what? Hello? We're not in the dark ages anymore! No one's going to start chasing me with spikes and torches!" The girl stood up, not wanting to have a longer discussion with her mother. She just wanted to experience the world, have lots of friends, humans or monsters, she didn't care. Why didn't her mother understand her? "I'll go to the garage, I don't want to continue this discussion."

"Frankie, wait." The woman stood up in an attempt to stop her daughter, but the young woman hurried away and whipped around the door as she walked through it. Viveka just stood, looking in the direction her daughter had gone.

Defeated, the woman let out a sigh and dropped to the couch, and looked up at the ceiling.

"Was I stubborn like that too, mom?" she asked the air.

Frankie closed the garage door and leaned back by it, she still didn't understand why her mother was so intent on forbidding her to be friends with humans, especially Ben, who wasn't even a human, to begin with. If her mother found out that secret maybe she would let her be friends with him.

She took a deep breath to calm her heart and get those thoughts out of her mind. She walked over to the car and rested her hand on the hood, in response, Upgrade's head emerged and looked up at her.

"Are you okay?" he asked. Upgrade had heard a bit of the argument, Frankie's raised tone was easy to detect, but her words not so much, so he wasn't sure what happened, but as he watched her walk into the garage he could tell it wasn't a good thing.

"Yes, I am." She replied downplaying the issue. She walked past him and over to a small window that functioned as a light-swallower on the side opposite the front door.

"I have to say it again, but are you really sure?" Upgrade followed her a couple of steps behind. "If your parents catch you, you'll be in a lot of trouble."

"I'm sure. I'll go out this way, I'll go to Clawdeen's, we'll go to the party, I'll have a nice time with Jackson, and I'll be back before ten."

"Okay, I just wanted to make sure." He replied. "Go easy."

The girl nodded and moved some things around so that she could more easily climb up to the window and get out.

Upgrade kept looking at her, he wasn't going to deny that he was a little worried about his friend's plan, but they weren't close enough to manage to change her mind. Besides, what could be the worst thing that could happen just because she ran off to go to a party?

Once outside, Frankie looked at him and gave him a thumbs-up, he mimicked her.

"Thank you." Frankie was ready to leave, but before she did she looked at her friend. "Upgrade, the next time, I promise I'll take you to a party so you can make friends."

"Going to a high school party?" he questioned. "Uhg, pass, dancing is not my thing, and I have two left feet."

Frankie found it amusing the way he seemed to abhor the very idea of dancing but said no more and left.

When the girl left, Upgrade returned to the car, merging once again with it, and proceeded to do his part of the plan.

A hologram identical to Frankie appeared sitting in the passenger seat and he logged on to the laptop that his friend had lent him once again.

"How much longer?" asked a bored Clawdeen to her older brother, who was driving the van they were all riding in. "I want to get out and dance already!"

"I promised dad I'd take care of you so you know Clawdeen." Replied his older brother with a bit of a playful smile. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

"That should be me telling you, Mr. "I'm going to chase a car full of normies for seven blocks"." Her comment drew laughter from everyone present.

"Hey! They threw water balloons at me, they asked for it."

A small group of five were traveling through the city in a van, among them was Frankie, she was looking at her face in a small mirror, courtesy of Clawdeen, she was finishing touching up her makeup. Her eyelids had dark shading and eyeliner and her lips were highlighted in electric blue color. She had to admit she looked good.

After escaping from her house, she went to Clawdeen's house to change. There Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Lagoona were already waiting for her, along with Clawd, Clawdeen's older brother. He was a young werewolf of seventeen, the same age as her friend from space. The wolf was wearing a leather jacket over a shirt, blue jeans, and casual sneakers.

The werewolves managed to get their parents' van so they could go without taking too long and Frankie took advantage of the trip to finish touching up her makeup, she really wanted to look good for Jackson.

When they arrived at the entrance of Cleo's house they could see a large number of guests. Perhaps a little exaggerated.

"Looks like the whole school showed up here," Lagoona commented in awe at that number of people. And she appreciated that even more were arriving. "This gonna be a dog's breakfast."

All eyes turned to the girl with the Australian accent, who looked at them a bit confused.

"What?"

"Are you still speaking English?" questioned Clawdeen. "Or was that a taunt because we're werewolves?"

"What? No! I..." seeing her friend mocking her, Lagoona could only shoot her an annoyed look and folded her arms. "Heaps funny mate."

"Easy, relax those Aussie scales, it was just a joke."

The group of young people got out of the van and approached the door, from the outside they could already hear the music blaring, along with the shouts and celebrations of everyone inside.

The huge Egyptian-patterned doors opened and allowed them to see inside, the unbridled, fun-filled chaos the teens were having.

"Draculaura, I'll go say hello to my friends. " Frankie could see out of the corner of his eye as Clawd approached the short vampire as he said that. "You'll be all right on your own for a while?"

"Sure, be a good boy, will you?"

"Why sure, I'm a good boy."

"Yes, you are."

Both young men had looks full of affection for each other, the werewolf put his arms around her and moved a little closer so he could kiss her, Draculaura did not put up any resistance and was ready to receive the show of affection, but Clawdeen intervened.

"All right you two lovebirds." Interrupted the younger Wolf. "If you're going to get affectionate, I think you'd better get a room."

"Ah, I'm so sorry, girls." Clawd hurriedly turned away from his girlfriend, who wore an equally embarrassed expression as her boyfriend. "But what about Gil? I thought he was coming with you Lagoona."

"He hasn't returned my calls." She replied with a feigned smile. "So my date today is... Clawdeen, I think."

"I'm a great catch."

"Frankie does have a date." Draculaura pointed out. "He's a human." That was said in a whisper to keep the information from spreading prematurely.

"Really?" the werewolf asked in surprise.

"Is Ben, isn't it? I knew you were more than friends." added a smiling Lagoona.

The young Stein's face became slightly darker as she was the center of that conversation, but she was quick to deny it.

"It's not Ben, I told you, he's just a friend who knows science." Lagoona gave him a look that expressed her doubt about that statement. "It's someone else."

Her three friends looked at each other, intrigued by who their friend's mystery date might be, but added nothing.

Clawd broke away from them and wandered off to be with his friends, so the quartet of youngsters was free to enter the party and enjoy the evening.

"Cleo sure knows how to throw a party," Clawdeen commented as he admired the mess. "Look, Cupid is the DJ."

As Clawdeen said, a young woman was on the sound system, the pink-haired girl with headphones covering her ears was in the speaker area, bringing the party to life.

"This will be a night not to forget." Draculaura said excitedly as she grabbed Clawdeen by the hand and pulled her along. "Come on!"

"Uhg." That was all the werewolf woman could say before walking in.

"I think we should go in too." Lagoona pointed out.

"I think so."

Frankie and Lagoona entered at the same time, careful not to bump into anyone and without getting separated, as in that case, it would be easy to get lost.

The excitement of being at that party began to fill the young Stein, seeing so many boys and girls having fun, dancing, and playing some games was quite an experience for her. Was that the achievement of Monster High? To get different species to live together? She was very happy, but she still hadn't seen Jackson anywhere, so she started looking for him.

The minutes began to pass and the number of people made it a little difficult to move, but Frankie managed to get to an area without many people and could breathe easy there.

"Jackson, where are you?" she muttered as she tried to find some minimal sign of the young human.

From her place, she could see the door open and for a few moments her heart skipped a beat, expecting to see Jackson there, but instead, she only saw a boy with red hair and blue skin. The young man was in very casual attire, but she couldn't get a good look at him from a distance.

This disappointment discouraged her somewhat, but she continued to be patient until Clawdeen and Draculaura approached her.

"Why the sad face?" asked Clawdeen as she walked with her vampire friend. "Come on Frankie! It's a party!"

"It's just..." the young woman continued to look around for a few seconds until she finally focused on her friend. "I don't see him anywhere."

"Your date still isn't here?" asked Draculaura. "Maybe he's the kind of guy who's late."

"I don't think Jackson is that kind of guy... He's not that kind of boy." she looked worriedly at her friends. Draculaura's eyes widened in surprise as she recognized the name and her expression changed completely.

"Did you say, Jackson?" Frankie was a little surprised, she didn't know her friend knew him. "Black hair, glasses, and blue eyes?"

"That's the one." She said nodding. "You know him?"

"Meet him? Lala dated him." Clawdeen replied, her voice sounding slightly annoyed at the mention of the boy. "That fool never showed up for their date nights, the only time Draculaura can go out without her father telling her something."

"He was standing you up?" Frankie's eyes widened in surprise as she saw the vampire nodded. This revelation filled her with dread, did she actually ask a playboy out on a date? Jackson didn't seem like the kind of guy who would just play with girls. She refused to believe that.

Draculaura noticed that her friend was beginning to go into a crisis upon discovering this truth, so she hurried to calm her down.

"He's not someone bad, he's very kind and considerate, just, he's not good at keeping his promises. " explained the vampire with a smile, albeit a bit feigned.

"Do you think he stood me up?" she asked fearfully.

"Maybe, he's human, we couldn't expect anything else." Draculaura lightly elbowed Clawdeen for saying that, but the werewolf woman didn't take it back, just folded her arms. "You know that's true."

"Clawdeen, you know I don't like it when you speak ill of humans." Draculaura scolded. "I know you don't like them, but they're not all bad."

"Can we just not talk about it?" the werewolf woman asked as she did not wish to argue with her best friend at a party.

Nearby, that young man with blue skin and red hair mingled among the people, moving to the rhythm of the music playing over the loudspeakers as he admired everything around him.

"I like this place here." He said as he carefully dodged out of the way to avoid bumping into an overly romantic couple. Crossing Frankie, he stared a little longer before walking on. "And I like the guests."

The young man had one goal at that moment, to talk to the girl who was handling the music, her mixes were okay, but they could be better.

"Excuse me hottie, do you mind if I put on some mixes?" the red-haired boy pointed to the DJ table.

Cupid covered her mouth excitedly as she recognized who it was and didn't hesitate to express her excitement. "Oh my god, you are, DJ Hyde!"

"That's my name, and tell me cutie, is your name as pretty as your face?"

The girl blushed at that compliment.

"I-I'm Cupid."

"Oh a very fitting name, because you, babe, just flirted my heart away."

The girl giggled at the compliment and shyly asked. "Can we take a selfie? I saw your videos on Frightube and I love the mixes you do."

"A fan? Awesome, but in return, will you let me play with this thing?"

"Sure!" she replied excitedly.

The boy smiled elegantly at the camera as Cupid gave a peace sign.

"This is sooo cool! I'm going to show this to Melody, she loves your music."

Cupid stepped away from the DJ table, allowing the young man to approach to do his job.

"Well, how about we turn up the heat? " The boy cracked his knuckles. "Let's pump up the bassline!"

Viveka finished reading the last of her many students' final essays and corrected it with a red pen. A B was in the top corner, not the best grade, but it was good.

The woman finally allowed herself to take off her glasses and sigh with exhaustion, then place that essay on the large stack of essays next to her.

She stretched her arms above her head, trying to get rid of the tension accumulated in her back from being there all afternoon, and decided to turn on the TV so he could relax.

For a few seconds, she could only zap, but her attempt to relax was not working. Her face was slightly distressed as she was still saddened by the argument she had with her daughter.

Leaving the TV on the news channel, she covered her face with both hands and tried to think of a solution to the problem. Frankie was her daughter, her little girl, and creation and it hurt her very much to be estranged from her, but she had the right reasons to scold her for what she did.

In her nearly one hundred years of life, she had experienced both good and bad things, and many of those bad things were caused by humans. She did not want, she could not allow her daughter to go through the same things and as her mother and creator, it was her responsibility to guide her.

"Aaaah!" she exclaimed in a choked cry as she pressed her hands harder against her face. Viveka had just realized that he did not act as a guide from his daughter's point of view, if not appreciating scolding her for her idealistic beliefs.

Frankie may have been right about one thing, she was a hypocrite. Those ideals her daughter possessed, she had them too at one time or another when she was young.

She filled her lungs with air, trying to calm her mind and heart.

Perhaps the damage was done, but she could make amends if she talked to her daughter and properly explained her reasons, that was a good plan.

She turned her face over her shoulder and looked toward the garage door. A few hours had passed since her daughter said she would be there with that strange car that gave her an uncomfortable feeling of being watched every time she approached along with sensing something else coming from it.

"It would be best to talk to her at that time before more time passes and things become even more complicated."

Upgrade had one hand on his chin as he looked at Frankie's laptop screen, he had been researching for some time about that world he now found himself in, and to his surprise, he found something that was unexpected and strange.

That world was too normal.

What was he referring to? The total lack of heroes and villains.

Everything he knew about superpowers, both from comics, movies, and his own experience, that world took all that knowledge and threw it in the dumpster.

"When everyone had a superpower, at the end of the day no one had one." A contradictory thought if one were to consider that the total monster population was one in ten humans.

If that world came into contact with the villains of his world they would definitely have a very hard time. Even those who were normal humans who used gadgets or other things to improve themselves would present a great challenge, although he was sure they would eventually manage to stop them, the damage they would cause would be high.

He didn't even want to imagine what would happen if a high-class villain made their way into that world.

His search for more information led him to more "strange" places. Defining that word was difficult in such a world. After all, the monsters in classic horror stories walked down the street wearing flip-flops.

This search was carried out to find some sign of a great hidden evil that could endanger that world.

He could be considered a veteran and had experience dealing with secret cults or fanatics dressed as if they were going to a Dungeons and Dragons game so he had to make sure there was nothing out of the ordinary.

To his peace of mind, or disappointment, he found nothing strange, just the usual problems also present in his world. And the same conspiracy theories about UFOs, the government, the hollow Earth, even an old theory about a secret monster society. Theory confirmed since it was no longer a secret.

Being a very active person, going a week without much action was affecting him and making him feel a bit impatient, and craving for a smoothie but that was a point and a side note.

In the end, he just closed everything he searched for and stared at the last open web page. A page that was familiar and at the same time unfamiliar to him. Youtube, or at least the monster version of it. All the things he could search for at that moment popped into his head and he decided to go for the easiest, superheroes.

Videos related to that topic appeared, different people, monsters, and humans who shared with the world their taste for comics appeared before his single eye, but nothing that came close to what he was really looking for. Although he made sure to memorize some names and then take a look at them, as long as he was stuck there he could try to catch up on some comics or discover new ones.

He decided to be more specific and tried again and again, to the point where he was starting to get tired of searching. The answer was more than obvious by this time.

"I guess no superheroes are hanging around this world." Now he felt a bit displaced and out of place.

His mind wandered to something else, or, rather, someone else.

He thought about Frankie and her friends. Although they were monsters, or RADs, as they preferred to be called, none of them could be classified as superheroes, rather, quite the opposite, they were normal girls who had their priorities crossed. If Frankie's irrationality about going to a party served as a reference point.

Although judging her for that was hypocritical of him. How many times did he give up some responsibility just to do something he wanted? He ran away from school a few times when he was still attending just to go to the arcade, or when he lied to Julie so he wouldn't see each other so he could enjoy a movie he wanted to see so badly.

Could that be why Gwen scolded him so much for being immature?

Thinking about it, he realized something, he couldn't remember when was the last time he did something similar.

Was it before you left school? A year ago? A year and a half?

He chose not to delve too deeply into that and resumed his earlier thoughts.

That world was not as similar to his own as he first thought. Perhaps they shared similarities, such as the secret history, but the differences were as vast as heaven and earth. In the world of her new friends, peace and tranquility seemed to reign.

This made him feel out of place Wasn't it a little obsolete in that world? There were no supervillains, alien invasions, or the like. If he had no villains to deal with, what good was a hero like him?

"Frankie, can we talk for a moment? " at the sound of Viveka's voice coming from the garage door, in record time, Upgrade activated Frankie's hologram and hid, just as the monster woman opened the door.

He could see her look at her "daughter" and then approach.

She leaned against the driver's window carefully and stuck her head inside the car and he watched her examine it as if the details were etched in her mind, and with a smile, she spoke.

"It really is a nice car, I remember when your father built that one." She turned her head a little, focusing her gaze on the tarp-covered car sitting there. "He spent hours working on it, his 'little girl, a big dummy if you ask me."

She returned her gaze to look at her "daughter", only to notice how she showed no signs of answering her, instead, her eyes remained fixed on the laptop screen.

The woman's expression fell a little at that, she knew her daughter was angry with her, but she wanted to make amends, so she opened the door and sat in the driver's seat.

"Listen, I know you're mad at me, but you have to understand that I'm doing this because I love you and I care about you." The woman looked at the steering wheel of the vehicle and ran a finger over the strange hourglass symbol on the horn. "I know you think we are hypocrites because we work with humans now, but it wasn't always like this, even now, your father and I hide our heritage so we don't get in trouble. They don't understand us and you must understand that. I know you think I don't want you to have relationships with humans, but you are still very young and if something bad were to happen to you, I would never forgive myself."

Upgrade peeked his eye slightly into the back seats, from a place where his friend's mother couldn't see him, but he could see her. He was listening to a conversation that wasn't directed at him and Frankie wasn't even on the premises.

The concern Viveka showed reminded him of his own mother, Sandra Tennyson. She, like his father, was always concerned for him and his welfare to the point that when they discovered he was a superhero they punished him, not caring if the world ended and that same concern led them both to follow him and help him defeat a Highbreed.

Remembering his parents made his eye curve downward and he thought about home, wondering if that week he spent in that reality was the same amount of time in his home reality.

"Your father and I had to run away a few times. I... made some mistakes." The woman's voice was filled with sadness and remorse, Upgrade noticed it, and seeing the distressed expression she had made him wonder what happened to her. "When I was young, because of me one of our hidden communities was discovered and we had to escape. I was naive, I thought that if we made ourselves known and I managed to prove to them that we were not dangerous he... they would understand us and love me for who I was, but it was not so." regret for her past actions was plastered on the woman's face.

Upgrade felt strange to hear that. That an honest and good action like that had been taken in a bad way was something horrible for him and he could identify with that. Many of his good deeds were considered bad because of a very annoying reporter, but fortunately, that was behind him, there were still people who didn't like him, but at least he didn't see them on TV every time he turned it on.

He couldn't help but feel bad for his friend's mother and for all monsters in general, it was a sad story and it made it clear to him that there was a stark disparity.

"I don't want you to go through something like that." The woman looked at her "daughter". Her expression fell a little more as she saw that the hologram continued to not look at her and was expressionless. "This boy, Ben, is a stranger and he gave you something too expensive, you must understand that we are worried about something like that. We don't know what his intentions are, and we just want to protect you." The woman continued without receiving a response and this made her feel her heart squeeze. "I know you're angry, but please, talk with me." the woman moved her hand closer to her "daughter's" face but it went right through her. "What..." Her eyes widened in surprise and she looked down at her hand, then looked up at her daughter and once again tried to touch her, but got the same result.

This not only caused her to start freaking out, but it also caused Upgrade to panic, he was so distracted thinking about this revelation that he forgot for a moment that his task was to prevent them from discovering the whole charade.

"Viktor!" she screamed in fright. The woman tried to get out of the vehicle, but the lock on the doors activated, locking her in. "Viktor! Viktor!" she screamed as she pounded on the window glass in an attempt to break it.

Upgrade deactivated the hologram and moved his head, making him appear in the seat next to Viveka.

"Ma'am." At the sound of the alien's cybernetic voice, Viveka turned around quickly, thus glimpsing the head of simple features and with a lone green circle pretending to be an eye. "Calm down, I am..."

The alien was interrupted when an electric discharge was released from the woman's body. His nanomachines reacted violently to this, causing them all to withdraw in different directions, separating from the entire area where Viveka was.

The woman stepped back in fear and caused the door, lacking nanomachines to hold it in place, to fall under her weight and, consequently, causing her to fall out of the vehicle as well.

Upgrade was concerned to see that, so he detached himself completely from the car and looked at the woman, who opened her eyes in shock and disbelief to see him in his real form.

"Are you all right?" He asked. And to his bad luck, he was without the translator, so the woman didn't understand him.

"VIKTOR!" cried Viveka, completely terrified.

"Cleo, this party is amazing! How did your father let you do it?" said Draculaura speaking to Cleo, who was sitting in an expensive golden armchair and red silk pillows. Next to the two of them were her three friends, Lagoona being the farthest away and with a slightly dejected expression on her face.

"Well of course it is, I made it, and I just had to ask him, do you think I would do it without telling him?" Cleo's words came out with complete assurance, but if someone was paying close attention, they could tell that the mummy looked nervous, as if she wasn't sure what to make of everything that was going on. Or even it seems like the whole party was an accident.

"It's great, but no one seems to want to dance," Clawdeen commented with boredom. As the brown-haired girl said, the dance floor was practically empty, being a few who were in that place, they seemed to prefer to keep their distance, doing other things.

"That's not right," Cleo muttered. "I can't let my party be ruined because no one dances! Frankie! Go do something! "

"Huh? Why me?" she questioned in confusion.

"You're just sitting there with a depressed look on your face." Frankie looked at her werewolf friend, who shrugged.

"Lagoona is the same way."

"Just go ask the DJ to play something better."

Frankie was going to protest once again, but stopped herself and just nodded, her friend was right, she was just sitting there with a dejected expression. She was at a party! It should have been a fun time!

Getting to her feet, she began to move towards where she had last seen Cupid, he had never spoken to her before, but she knew who he was, so she could tell he was going to have an easy time communicating and hitting it off.

Great was her surprise to see that in the place where she had last seen the aspect of love, there was no longer a pink-haired girl, but a young man with red hair and a hairstyle that looked like a flare.

She stood still for a few seconds, admiring the boy playing with the turntables of the DJ equipment that someone had brought to Cleo's house.

That boy was very attractive and had a confident and energetic smile plastered on his face. As with Jackson, Frankie felt something when she saw him, like butterflies in her stomach, but much wilder and without realizing it, she approached him.

The DJ noticed her and took off his headphones so he could talk to her comfortably.

"Hey." He greeted, keeping that white smile on his face.

"Hey, I'm Frankie." She greeted a little nervously. "Sorry, but who are you?"

"You can call me DJ. So, what's a nice party like you doing in a girl like this?"

Frankie let out a chuckle at that strange phrase. She could tell, that boy had a very energetic and lively personality, something she couldn't help but find attractive.

"My friends and I wanted to dance a little, could you play some music for that?"

"For you Firecrack, anything."

"Firecrack?" she questioned confused at that nickname.

"Because you blow my mind babe." The boy winked at her.

Frankie's cheeks tinged a darker color at that and somewhat sheepishly she smiled at the charming boy.

"Looks like this party is looking for something rough." Commented the boy looking at how not many were dancing. "Time to break out the heavy weapons, Firecrack, want to help me out?"

"M-Me?" Frankie pointed her index finger at herself. "But I've never done anything like that."

"Let me guide you."

A little unsure, Frankie stepped to the side of the young DJ, the boy put an arm around her, the contact caused Frankie to shiver and look sideways at him, receiving a wink in response.

"Rocking a party one zero one is in session. Lesson one. " The boy took Frankie's hands and guided her over the board. "The Dj must get them out of their heads and into their bodies."

"And how do we do that?"

"You need to have something known as, a caveman's sense of rhythm, a cursory knowledge of ninth-grade math and biology." Frankie looked at him in surprise and the boy smiled in response. "I'm not just a pretty face." He pointed to the low line of knobs on the board. "Look, the bassline, controls by the switches, right here. The most important region."

The music changed slightly as the knobs moved, being a little deeper, but keeping the beat.

"It doesn't look like anyone is going to dance." Frankie noticed that all around, the "dance floor" was still empty, but the young men were now moving a little more, swaying their waists to the music.

"Don't be impatient, in the beginning, there is always resistance, just is necessary to find that person who is not afraid to go for it." The young DJ searched with his eyes, which Frankie imitated.

"How about my friends?" she asked as she saw Clawdeen and Lagoona talking.

"Good choice Firecrack, now, do your part."

Frankie saw her opportunity when Clawdeen looked her way and with a wave of her hand beckoned her to come closer.

"You seem to be having fun here." She commented as she analyzed the red-haired boy. "Hey, redhead, hands-off." The boy complied with the order, raising his hands and moving them away from Frankie, but without losing his smile. "Meeting new people?"

"Clawdeen, this is DJ." The boy made a little gesture and waved with a "Sup!". "He's teaching me about being a DJ. And I wanted to know if you could help me."

"Help you?" Frankie nodded and explained what he needed. Clawdeen thought about it for a few moments and nodded. "Take it for granted, Lagoona was jilted too so let's make her feel better."

As Clawdeen went back to talk to Lagoona, the young DJ took the opportunity to take a look at Frankie, seeing such a pretty young woman at that party made it worth his while to show up there, he had to admit he had a sixth sense for such things, but why did she look so familiar?

"Look, they're starting." Frankie snapped him out of his thoughts pointed to the dance floor. Clawdeen had managed to convince Lagoona to dance.

He moved his eyes to the dance floor, which was actually the living room of that huge house they were in, he could see the werewolf woman and a pretty blonde who he deduced was a water monster given her light blue scales. Both girls began to dance slowly, following the rhythm of the music, but they were still not out of their minds as he told his new "assistant" would happen, so he decided to work his magic.

Gently, he moved the knob that was in charge of the volume. The music began to get louder, capturing the attention of all the students, who began to move a little more than before.

"Now, concentrate on your heartbeat. You see, BPM is the name of the game, it governs how your body moves. Once you locked onto their heartbeat, then start bringing them up, a song by song."

"Sounds... complicated."

"But it Works."

Their gaze returned to those two girls, the werewolf woman's fingers snapping back and forth while the water monster's elbows gracefully sliced the air. They were moving their feet in perfect rhyme, which were tarting curves on the floor and shaking their slender waists back and forth.

Frankie then noticed something, little by little, as if they were shy to join her friends' dance directly, more students started to go to the dance floor. Boys and girls shook their heads and wiggled their feet. Every shake of their shoulders, every twist of their hips, every shake of their hair, and every beat of their feet seemed to attract more and more dancers with more and more force.

"Told ya." DJ's voice snapped her out of her thoughts and she spun around to see him. The boy had a cocky smile on his face that made her shiver. She was sure her heart had skipped a beat.

Frankie watched as that young DJ masterfully played the records on the machine, moving the knobs and mixing the songs, increasing the desire of all the teenage monsters to dance. The dance floor, once with only a few groups of dancers, was now packed. She could see everyone she knew there, Draculaura was with Clawd dancing in each other's arms, although the song was not romantic at all, more like a mix of electro and pop. She also saw Lagoona and Clawdeen dancing together and Cleo together with Deuce a little more focused on kissing than dancing.

A sad sigh left her lips, she wished Jackson would show up and ask her to dance, but the boy never showed up. DJ noticed this and looked at her with some confusion and decided to inquire.

"What's the matter Firecrak? don't you like the music?" at the sound of the DJ's voice Frankie turned to him. Seeing that smile and those eyes gave her a few tingles in her stomach. "I can play something more upbeat for you."

"No, it's not that, your music is great, it's just..." She looked down ruefully. "I had a date and he stood me up."

"Geez, that sucks." Commented the boy. He laid down on the dashboard his headphones and moved to stand next to Frankie. "What kind of fool would stand up a pretty girl like you?"

Hearing that made Frankie once again look flushed.

"How about you and I go burn some of the track?" he asked.

"Eh? But you..."

"Easy, I left my ICoffin plugged into that thing." The boy held out his hand and asked again. "Shall we dance?"

Frankie's heart pounded at the sight of that face and without a doubt in her heart, she took his hand and they went to the dance floor.

The dry desert wind blew, moving the time traveler's raincoat, who was with his arms behind his back, looking at a specific point of the huge crater nearby.

"You're here sooner than I thought." casually commented Eon, the time traveler turns his head and gives a slightly surprised look to Doctor Animo, who was accompanied by Khyber, who as usual, remained stoic. "And you brought a friend."

The being was clearly an extraterrestrial.

The only part of his body that was exposed was his face, it had a large lower jaw with teeth fused to his lips, his eyes were dark red and he had gills under his cheeks.

"An ally of circumstance I would say." the Doctor clarified, then pointed to the alien. "His name is Khyber." the named Khyber merely snorted in annoyance then turned away from them both. "He's not the social type."

"I see." for Eon, the presence of that alien was nothing more than one more number to his equation, he wasn't going to bother to scold Animo for something like that, as long as it was useful for his plans, he would be content. "How was your escape my good doctor?" he asked kindly as he began to walk, Animo beside him merely let out a groan filled with annoyance. "I assume it wasn't as much fun as I imagine."

"Pure fun," he replied, rolling his eyes as he did so. "I didn't just have to worry about the plumbers, I also had to worry about the other prisoners, some of them attacked me just for being human. Seriously, those fools couldn't assess the situation, it was lucky I ran into Khyber."

"I see." That was all Eon said.

While walking, Dr. Animo's eyes crossed a pile of white and gray objects piled up in a small pile and guarded by two people dressed as ninjas. The villain shuddered as he got a better look at those things, the bodies, they were dry, as if they had been mummified by the passage of time. Not only that, the burnt aroma and the clear signs of a battle gave him to understand everything.

"I see you've been busy too." He said with some discomfort and looked away from the mound.

"It never hurts to get some exercise." A slightly evil chuckle accompanied that comment.

Animo said nothing about it, he knew there would always be resistance, and although he was not in favor of killing for the sake of killing, he understood that sometimes it was necessary.

The three stopped when they reached a makeshift table made of metal boxes and which had a metal box with two gray figures inside. The table was guarded by a single ninja. At the sight of his master, the taciturn figure stiffened and ducked his head slightly.

With a small movement of his hand, Eon made himself understood to that humanoid, and without further ado, he withdrew.

"How helpful." Animo lauded. Khyber on the other hand approached the table and noticed that inside the glass box were two small gray beings.

Upon seeing the newcomers, the chubbier of the pair of little aliens began to speak in a haughty and demanding tone.

"I order you to release me hyper-evolved reptile!" he demanded, while his companion merely chewed a piece of gum. "I'm a certified plumber! You have no idea the amounts of charges I'll bring against you and besides...!" the sound of an energy sword being ignited was enough to silence the little alien, who recoiled in fright. "you don't scare me!"

"I'm glad to hear that," Eon replied, and despite the helmet he wore, Animo was sure he was laughing at that little alien frog. "I guess you've met my new friends."

"Doctor Animo and Khyber the hunter, yep, we've got a list." Commented the slimmest of the little aliens. "Sup Doc. how are your dolls doing?"

"Perfect, as always." Animo recognized the little guy in charge of bringing him food when he was in the plumbers' prison.

Meanwhile, Khyber was hitting the glass with a finger, annoying one of the little aliens in the process.

"I order you to stop doing that hyper-evolved reptile!" demanded the chubbiest of the small captive aliens.

"It's been a long time since I've eaten frog legs, I wonder if yours will taste the same." the threat was explicit, the larger alien made a small shallow cut in the glass with his hunting knife. "Maybe I should try you."

"I-I'm not afraid of you! Come on, give it a try! I'll show you which of the two of us is the superior species!" replied the chubby little alien with false bravado, his companion merely shook his head, he was going to damn them if he kept it up.

"It seems you already know our guests." commented the time traveler with amusement, seeing that little being so frightened amused him, but of course, it was not the time to be distracted by things like that.

Although if he was honest, he left them alive because they were mildly amusing and entertaining to watch.

Leaving aside his hostages, the villain focused on the hunter, who, noticing that he had caught Eon's attention, was impassive.

"Khyber the hunter, I've heard about you."

"Like many." He replied flatly.

Behind his helmet, Eon smiled. He had learned to deal with all sorts of people over the many years he wandered the multiverse, Khyber was the type of person with an unbreakable code but would move for some money, or failing that, a reward that would get his attention.

"I find it convenient that you're here, I could use someone with your skills." His words were not sugarcoated at all. They were the truth.

Traveling between dimensions, while it usually meant no danger to him, the possible presence of Tennyson on the other side meant a variable that would trigger too many ramifications to deal with, if he could count on someone with that hunter's skills, things would be much easier.

"I only came to fulfill my contract with Animo, from here, you are on your own." He replied with his arms folded.

"It's a pity, you'll miss a unique opportunity." Khyber arched an eyebrow at that. "How does a new universe sound, full of creatures to hunt."

Another thing that characterized this villain was that he was always looking for new challenges to prove himself as a hunter.

And as Eon expected, hearing that got Khyber's attention. Animo, who was listening to the conversion, frowned when he heard about hunting.

"Not only new species you've never seen, but also, as a bonus, going to that dimension would get rid of your problems with plumbers."

"Tempting." He replied. "But you can offer something better."

A small twitch appeared on Eon's face, he had no problem offering many things, he could get them, but he hated how that hunter haggled with him.

"I gather that neither of you has encountered Ben Tennyson during your escape, have you?" hunter and evil geneticist denied that question. "My suspicion is confirmed."

"And what would that suspicion be?" asked Animo curiously.

"That Ben Tennyson was expelled from this reality, or rather this multiverse," he replied, the two remaining villains looked at him with confused expressions, something that made him slightly annoyed. "Why does all this always have to be explained?" he muttered to himself in frustration. "To keep things simple, Ben Tennyson was sucked into a slipspace hole, space and time curved back on itself and instead of sending him to a point within this timeline, it took him out of our existence by sending him somewhere else."

"Which is on the other side of this supposed rift, right?" the hunter asked, Eon nodded satisfied to see that it wasn't just brute force. "Sounds like something plausible, but how will you get us to this other side?"

"I have my methods, but I must first complete one last thing."

"And what thing?" questioned the hunter.

"I have to be sure of the frequency at which this rift vibrates, if I get it wrong, well, no one wants a second Big Bang, do we? That and... I want a backup." a dark chuckle escaped his lips as he said that. "Fortunately, I know someone who could make things a lot easier, a promising Galvan I have dealings with." Eon opened a portal to his right and started walking towards it, it would be best to go find this Galvan right now, they wouldn't have much time when the plumbers discovered that that whole place was under their power now. "I'll be back in a few seconds or maybe I'm back already, time travel confuses verbs a bit."

Eon let out a laugh as he said that and crossed the portal, leaving behind a very confused Animo. Khyber for his part just turned around and started analyzing the surroundings in case they had to defend themselves, he headed towards the piled-up bodies, he had seen some weapons, so he wasn't going to miss the opportunity to get more arsenal.

For his part, Animo went to sit next to the box containing both Galvans, who appeared to be arguing.

"This is your fault Blukic! I told you to put down that stupid gum!" scolded the chubby fellow, who merely chewed the candy.

"I wasn't going to leave my gum." the so-called Blukic made a balloon out of the gum, which shortly thereafter exploded and covered his partner.

"You are a …!"

In another part of the galaxy, a young gray-haired, red-eyed human was sweeping up with a really annoying expression the remains of what looked like some kind of alien food.

The boy, no older than ten years old let out an angry grunt as he saw a Galvan in a lawyer's suit passing by drop a crumpled piece of paper in exactly the same spot where he had just cleaned up.

"Hey, Asshole! I just cleaned that up!" he yelled in frustration.

The alien taunted him as he walked away, which drew the ire of the boy, who was ready to follow him and hit him with the broom.

"I don't hear you cleaning up!" exclaimed a female voice from nearby, which caused the boy to resume his work.

This did not stop him from muttering hundreds and hundreds of curses to himself.

"Stupid planet, stupid Vilgax, stupid Luhley, stupid Azmuth," he growled as he continued sweeping.

His work had him walking around a bit, so engrossed was he in his complaints that he didn't notice anyone else in the area until he swept over his feet.

"How are you Albedo? It's been a while." the boy for his part stepped back when he recognized him, but it wasn't out of fear, rather it was to look him straight in the face. His expression made it clear that he was not happy to see him.

"Eon, what are you doing here?" he questioned, then stepped aside and continued with his duties.

The adult watched the child sweep, amused at the childish punishment he was serving despite the crimes he committed.

"Is this what they call community service? The Galvans sure are lax in their punishments." He commented in amusement, but his provocation went unanswered. "Aren't you going to buy me a tea or something? What a bad host."

"Oh excuse me! Would you like a coffee your excellency? maybe a juice? Or maybe a kick in the ass?" he replied, annoyed at the adult's provocations. "What do you want? Speak quickly, I have to get on with this charade."

The boy was quite disrespectful, which annoyed the time traveler slightly, but it's not as if he could blame him, not with his tedious condemnation.

"How about going on a field trip to another dimension?" he asked, clearly making fun of his age, which the boy didn't like, as he looked at him angrily.

"Just like our last 'trip'?" the sarcasm in his voice was obvious. Eon behind his helmet frowned, remembering that experience made him quite angry as it was used and then discarded, something he didn't appreciate at all. "No thanks."

"This time it's different, we won't have a squid to stab us in the back." He wasn't going to hide that he was happy that this person was dead right now. Something he deserved no doubt, but he would have liked to have been the one to do it. "You see, Ben Tennyson has been kicked out of this whole multiverse, he's gone to another one, what kind? I don't know, that's why I need you, after all, you are the smartest Galvan of all, you even surpass Azmuth." the boy didn't say anything for a few seconds, he simply pondered the time traveler's words, but time was running out, so Eon had to insist. "If we leave now and you help me with whatever I need, I'll release you from that shackle that keeps your powers inactive what do you say?"

"I say go to hell." His response was rude and his tone was even more so. "Defeat after defeat, you never get what you want, why should I follow you? It's smarter to bet everything on Ben Tennyson once again defeating you and me with you."

For an instant the whole environment was silent. The distant sound of the planet's inhabitants, the occasional breeze, or the buzzing of insects, everything was silenced.

Albedo stood still, his gaze was fixed on the ground and he did not wish to turn around, he could feel the wrath of the time traveler.

"I have my reasons, Albedo, as you have yours." His response, despite sounding calm, was replete with anger.

Both remained silent for several seconds, and only when all the sound returned did the boy allows himself to return to his work and finish gathering the trash from the area and placing it little by little in a black bag, all under the watchful eye of the adult.

"Working with alternate versions of Tennyson never pleases me." He said, trying to push away the lingering sense of discomfort at finding himself under threat from the time traveler. "And now you want us to go to another dimension? What for? Wouldn't it be easier to stay here and conquer this one?"

"We both know it wouldn't be." The boy paused for a few moments and looked up, even if he couldn't meet Eon's eyes directly, their gazes met. "Think of it this way, one dimension, where our only obstacle would be Tennyson, no plumbers, no annoying kids with powers and much luck, no Azmuth."

For an instant the boy was hesitant, the man had a point, but the variables were too many.

"How do we know Tennyson will be alone? That fool has a knack for pulling allies out of nowhere." Albedo put aside the scavenging and folded his arms. "That place could be even worse, we could end up in a world with The Justice League or something why are you so sure?" The reference to a Terran comic book series caused Eon to arch an eyebrow, Albedo spent too much time on Earth apparently.

"I have a good feeling." He replied, his tone was full of amusement as if the whole situation was funny to him. "So, what do you think? You get your revenge and you get to crown yourself the smartest being in that universe. In my humble opinion, that's a great deal. Or you can stay here, sweeping up the debris of your failure while Luhley is your babysitter. Just imagine it Albedo, a universe where you get the recognition you deserve, your intelligence above everyone else's."

Those words had an effect on the boy. He stopped sweeping and looked around. All the destruction he caused was no longer more than a memory, the inhabitants of the planet, with the help of the inhabitants of the moon that orbited them, rebuilt everything he destroyed together with Vilgax.

His gaze focused on a structure much larger than the others, a structure that possessed a distinctive green hourglass symbol. Seeing that building from below made him frown.

Was that his destiny? To be under the shadow of not only Ben Tennyson, but also his former mentor, Azmuth? He didn't want that, he was a genius! He deserved more recognition! He deserved more! He even tried to prove it by being a more apt holder of the Omnitrix than Ben Tennyson! Then why, why did everything seem to go against him? He was educated by Azmuth himself, his knowledge was what created the Omnimatrix Software, he knew things that many others didn't!

So why was he staying in that damn place?

"I'm in." He said as he tossed aside the broom he was holding. Albedo couldn't see it, but Eon was smiling, appealing to people's egos was always an easy way to get allies. "Now it's your turn, take the shackle off me. And another thing, when we take out Tennyson and I'll take his Omnitrix." Eon nodded, he could accept something like that, though maybe Albedo was going to have some competition when it came to killing Ben Tennyson. "Before we go, I want to take something with me."

The way Albedo said that aroused Eon's curiosity, the hybrid was a really intelligent being, very arrogant and underestimated others a lot, but that didn't detract from his mind, if he had something that he thought could be useful, Eon could rely on that.

"I'm listening."

When Eon crossed the time portal he opened next to Albedo, the first thing he saw was a pile of highly advanced objects carefully arranged in alphabetical order, by type, and by color... And by size.

"How thorough." he thought. "That's Ascalon?" he questioned looking up at a sword on a pedestal.

Albedo moved forward, ignoring him and leaving him behind, and sniffed around the place.

"It's got to be around here somewhere..." he heard the boy mutter.

Eon waited patiently for him to find whatever it was he was looking for, he had no desire to poke around the area, accidentally breaking something was not in his plans, he didn't even know what most of the contraptions in front of him were for.

It wasn't long before Albedo returned with a jar in his hands, this one appeared to be vacuum sealed and had certain danger labels stuck on it. "This may be useful to us."

"I don't want to doubt you Albedo, I know you're very smart, too smart for your own good, but what's in there?" he asked genuinely curious and also a bit wary, he didn't want to have to fight from the first moment against his, now, allies.

"The remains of Malware, Azmuth retrieved them when the Malgax armor calcified, he set out to recreate Malware once again, but without the error in his code, a way to atone himself for the fate of his little creation," he replied as if it wasn't important, even Eon had to admit that that was sympathetic. "I'll take it with us before we launch into any multiverse, I want to be sure we won't barely disintegrate upon setting foot there."

"Your lack of confidence hurts my feelings Albedo." the boy arched an eyebrow at that comment. "We've wasted enough time, it's time to go."

"Can we go for some chili fries? I'd beat a celestialsapien for a ration right now."

"You should watch your diet more. Those things are full of fat and you're in full growth." The man's taunt received a response in the form of a raised middle finger from the boy. "Come on Albedo, I care about you, after all, you're like a little baby brother."

"Can you just shut up?"

Want to know what the hard part of writing this story is? Aside from putting my ideas on the pages. It's harder than you might think.

The human side.

And I'm not referring to the, so far, irrelevant human characters. Ben included, poor guy, is so much in the background that the spotlight falls on Frankie.

I mean that each character had their history, their lives, and thoughts, each character is a person and each person is different, even the villains. They are part of the whole story.

Like Eon and his now present humor. He's a Ben, let's face it, sarcasm is already genetic.

To write Frankie and Viveka I had to read a blog about parenting and the strained relationship a mother and her teenage daughter can have. I think I'm taking this story too seriously sometimes... Not to mention I had to look up some Australian slags for when Lagoona speaks, did I use them right? I don't know.

That Viveka's past was inspired by Lisi Harrison's books. It's inspired by the decisions Frankie made in that book that triggered the plot of the monsters going public, in this case, Viveka did something and they had to escape and that's why she's so fearful for her daughter.

I also know that, although it is a bit slow chapter, it serves a bit to build the world, and for those who never saw monster high, Cleo did not make the party, it was rather Spectra

Side note, the part I hated writing the most, and not because I didn't like it, was the whole party part, I had to look up how to write "choreographies" and also all that stuff about Jackson and Holt, and the worst part is that it's going to continue a bit more before the chaos of the next chapter. Does this count as a Spoiler?

That would be all, thanks for reading and sorry for taking so long, life sucks, and also I got covid and this caused a bit of an overreaction in me and I'm still not fully recovered. You guys are not interested in my private life so let's leave that there.

And if anyone wonders, the next chapter will be a bit violent. And not only because Malware appears, but also for other more... delicate reasons? writing racism without sounding like an idiot or like someone scared to write about that. Is hard and it's even harder to put my ideas into words, which is why it always takes me so long to post. There will be a warning at the beginning and that will start appearing very often around here, seriously, I hope no one gets mad, but if you feel bad about anything I write, I'm sorry right now.

See you later.

PD: someone caught all the references? some were obvious
