Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or 6Teen. I do not own the original story this is based on.
Nikki was stuck in her worst nightmare, except the Clones weren't in it. The only optimistic angle, or at least it would have, had in their place was not someone much worse. The girl had been kidnapped and forced to work in a Khaki Barn in the Ghost Zone, giving scary a run for its money.
"I don't think even Stephen King could write something this scary," Nikki commented.
"Stop complaining and get back to work!" The ghost yelled at her, eyes glowing red. He was tall and gruesome with a leading head, glasses, and an outfit that would impress the Clones. "You're gonna keep working until you live the khaki way!"
Despite being held prisoner in another dimension, Nikki still showed stubbornness as she slowly and crudely folded sweaters. She scoffed as she saw the decor inside. It was like 1969 America. Only more ghostly, yet better than the Khaki Barn she works in.
Well, if it wasn't for tall, ghostly, and gruesome hovering over her shoulder every second.
"Hey! What the heck did I do to you!?" Nikki snapped. She had taken so much from the ghost that she didn't care if she was being held prisoner anymore. She marched up to the ghost and stared him in the eye.
The ghost snarled at her, making the punk girl take a few steps back. He pointed at her menacingly as he spoke.
"You broke my spell and could end up doing the same for more stores. I spent years talking to witches and warlocks about that spell!"
Witches? Spells? Nikki thought in confusion before it hit her. "Wait! Wait! Wait! Are you saying that every Khaki Barn employee is under a spell!?"
"In the old days, yes," The ghost said with his arms crossed. "Nowadays, most stores use...other methods...if they can," He said before glaring harder at her. "And you broke one of my methods!"
Nikki grimaced. She wasn't sure how, but she was sure someone would come for her. Or at least hoped she could escape soon.
Nikki's friends had just arrived at the Ghost Zone and were looking for her. Or at least, that was the plan. As soon as they stepped through, the teens were shocked at the shades of green with purple littering the zone. Jude eyed one of many floating doors as he questioned whether or not he should take a peek.
A swift hand from Jen stopped that idea from escalating.
"Can someone tell me why we followed Jen into another dimension?" Jonesy snarked. As soon as those words exited him, he began to wonder how crazy he might be going.
"Cause Nikki's been kidnapped," Jude pointed out.
"And because we care enough to follow her into one," Wyatt added, glaring at Jonesy.
"Okay, I'm not saying we shouldn't, but what the heck can we do?" Jonesy said, jumping back as a spirit zoomed past. He wanted to save Nikki, too, but this whole thing is freaking him out. And Jude was definitely in agreement with all the creepiness happening. "So, how exactly are we gonna save Nikki?"
"We could...break things?" Caitlin questioned, still freaked out too.
The gang looked at each other in question. They had no idea what to do as the realization they have no real plan dawned on them.
"We're here. So let's do what we can," Jen said, determined.
The guys gulped loudly before manning up and following the girls. One step at a time.
Journeying through the Ghost Zone proved to be as treacherous as it was scary. The teens would hide whenever a ghost would pass by. Most of the time, either Jonesy or Jude had their mouths covered so they wouldn't scream. The Zone stretched past infinity, and the gang was slowly doubting their decision.
Jen especially was wondering why she gathered everyone to follow. She had no idea what she was doing. She was so worried about Nikki at the mall that she didn't think about what to do inside. The only thing about ghosts she knew was that they didn't like chasing people in their underwear and like to mostly attack malls. Though the teens didn't tour Amity Park that much.
Amity Park. Now that was a name that brought comfort to Jen. It reminded her of the times with Danny. How she wished to see him again. Not only because she missed him but because he might know something.
Danny. Jen's thoughts made her heart beat faster. Digging deep down, she brought forth some courage as she turned to the others.
"Guys, I know things look—" Jen looked around. "—well, dark and green, but we have to remember why we're here."
"For Nikki," Caitlin added.
While the guys didn't share the girl's enthusiasm, they too knew the reason. It was just that the Ghost Zone was scarier than they thought. However, they all noted how they never thought about where the portal would go. Maybe next time, they'd plan more, given if their friend is not taken by a netherworldly being.
"Alright, are you guys boys or men?" Caitlin asked.
"Uhh...hard to tell since I'm freaking out all the time," Wyatt replied. Jude and Jonesy nodded from behind.
The boy yelled as a loud BEWARE! was screamed from behind. The gang turned to see a short, round guy who looked like he worked at shipping. The spirit laughed as he shouted triumphantly in scaring the teens. All but one, that is.
"Hey, wait! I know you!" Jonesy proclaimed. "You're that weird Box Ghost that haunted the bubble wrap store!"
"You know him?" Wyatt asked.
"Know him!" Jonesy sounded offended. "That jerk cost me my job at Bubble Wrapped!"
"Haha! And with my victory, I have restocked on the bubble wrap...of death!" the Box Ghost replied loudly and triumphantly.
"Why does that sound so lame coming from you?" Jonesy snarked. His friends snickered as the ghost became less and less scary.
The box obsessed spirit wasn't happy about his cities being rained on like that.
The Box Ghost then brought forth crates he was hauling around. Why he did that, no one really cared. After a few words, everyone thought he was crazy or an idiot. Still, large wooden boxes flying at Jonesy was nothing to laugh about. The boy was frozen in fear as the thrown boxes hurdled right at him.
To their collective surprise, the crates phased through Jonesy. The Hispanic boy opened his eyes to see he was alright. Jude walked over as he inquisitively studied his friend.
"Fools! Do not think that you are immune to our ways because you are humans in this infinite box of ghostly energy! BEWARE!" the Box Ghost proclaimed before flying off in defeat.
"Well, he wasn't much help...or anything," Wyatt said. "But what the heck happened?"
"I don't know," Jonesy replied, patting himself down. "One moment, I was scared, and then the box went through me."
"Hmmm...maybe he's just that weak. I mean, the crate was big," Caitlin said.
"Kinda a weirdo too," Jen added. "I mean, what ghost haunts boxes?"
"Maybe there's like a mini-golf course ghost," Jude pondered. "Except he's like in a bedsheet."
"Still doesn't explain what happened," Wyatt noted.
"Maybe we have like superpowers, but only in here," Jude pondered out loud as he walked to a tree on the road. He took his hand and punch it, only to hurt his fist hard. "Ow! Ok, maybe not."
"Maybe it only works if we want to?" Jen said.
"So, we're safe here?" Jonesy asked.
The teens weren't sure. This wasn't the movies, and they had no one to teach them mystical powers, not that they had any.
"Well, if we got some kind of edge, maybe we won't have to worry much about asking for directions," Caitlin said. Taking glances, the blonde girl noticed another ghost floating nearby. This one hadn't seen them but seemed different. "Maybe we can ask her. She seems nice," she said, pointing away.
The teens looked at the ghost girl nearby. She was pretty with long hair that was violet, with periwinkle and pinkish-purple highlights. She had icy blue iris with pale skin. She was something to look at with a fit figure and ghostly outfit consisting of magenta, purple, and black.
Somehow, to no one's surprise or shock, Jonesy decided to put on the charm.
"Hey there, baby. Want help out a stud?" Jonesy said suavely.
"Jonesy! This is not the time to flirt!" Jen said.
"I'm not surprised. I mean, he did flirt with that genie," Wyatt added.
"Yeah, that giant, hot genie ghost with the boobs," Jude chuckled.
Jen and Caitlin rolled their eyes. They'd give them crap later as Jonesy did get the girl's attention.
At first, the ghost girl stopped and looked around. Ghosts barely communicated in the neck of the Zone. It wasn't until she turned to see Jonesy waving at her as his friend pulled him down, did she notice. Flying over immediately, Jen, Jude, Caitlin, and Wyatt pushed Jonesy forward. He called her, so he does the talking.
"Normies in the Ghost Zone? How incredible!" The ghost girl exclaimed. She brought out a pen and paper as she closed in on Jonesy, invading his personal space. "How did you get here? It's rare for normies to visit the Ghost Zone."
"I...Uh...we..." Jonesy stuttered with no idea how to answer.
"Ok, back up," Wyatt said. He pointed at the ghost girl. "Who are you, and where are we?"
Spectra blushed as she realized the teens were reluctant visitors. Clearing her throat and putting away the notebook, she landed on the road.
"I am Spectra Vondergeist," she said, then gestured to the scenery. "And this is the Ghost Zone."
"Ghost Zone, huh? Pretty sweet name. What kind of stuff do you do around here?" Jude asked.
"Jude, focus!" Jen snapped as she went in front. "Listen, our friend was taken, and we're trying to get her back.
"Oh my goth! What happened!?" Spectra exclaimed. "Ghosts normally don't kidnap anyone...well, unless they have a grudge."
"Well, our friend was taken at work," Caitlin said.
"Also, I don't think she's a goth," Jude added. "Not to mention she doesn't like her job working at the Khaki Barn."
Jonesy and Wyatt grabbed Jude before he could talk anymore. They needed directions, not distractions.
"The Khaki Barn? Well, you can search the Khaki Barn here," Spectra replied.
The teens blinked, wondering why a Khaki Barn would be in another dimension inhabited only by ghosts. Then again, the ghost took Nikki to a Khaki Barn, so maybe there was a connection.
"Alright, take us there," Wyatt said.
Spectra led the group through the floating roads and rocks they could use. While the laws of physics were different in the Ghost Zone, that didn't mean humans could fly. A lesson Jude found out the hard way when he tried.
Eventually, the gang reached the store, perched on the die of the road like it was expecting customers. Spectra gave it a funny glance as well. No one even went to this part of the Zone. Heck, it didn't even have the latest fashion trends sold there.
As Spectra left them to their devices, she felt worried. Sure she knew humans can handle themselves, but there was no way she'd leave them alone like that. And she knew the perfect hero to help.
Flying as fast as she could, the ghost girl went to get help.
And she knew just the manster.
The teens entered the store. It looked like their Khaki Barn but much older and decrepit. If they weren't so concerned for Nikki, they'd be running for the hills. Or, in this case, the floating curvy roads.
Walking inside, the gang saw Nikki, chained and folding sweaters, almost in a state of hopelessness.
"Nikki!" the five teens called out.
Nikki snapped out of her state as she turned her head to the entrance. Tears of joy fell as she was so happy to see her friends again. The gang rushed together as everyone initiated a group hug. The pink girl didn't care if this wasn't her thing. Right now, she was too happy.
"Guys! You followed me here!?"
"Of course we would!" Caitlin replied. The tears in her eyes ruined her makeup. "Why do you think we're here!?"
"Dudes!" Jude cited out, holding back his tears.
Wyatt smiled as he noted Jonesy's face. It was obvious tears threatened to fall. "Jonesy, you know you can cry here, right?"
"I am not gonna cry!" Jonesy replied as his eyes leaked,
But the tender moment was ruined as a loud scream came forth. From the back of the shop, the ghost that took Nikki appeared. He was seething mad.
"Who the heck are you?" Wyatt asked.
"I am Edward Warren, founder of Khaki Barn, and I do not appreciate the non-conformity of your outfits!" Edwards screamed dramatically.
The teen glanced at themselves. There was nothing wrong with their clothes. At least to them, but it didn't stop the angry comments.
"Watch it, buddy! This top is totally in season!" Caitlin yelled. She had saved up for the latest trends and was not going to take any negativity otherwise. This would have been courageous of not for the fact Edward screamed ghoulishly at her.
The gang took a few steps back before running to the entrance. They would have made it if Nikki's chains didn't snap her back. Jonesy grabbed hold as Jude and Wyatt helped him pull. Edward laughed as Jen and Caitlin joined. It was the mall portal all over again.
Only this time, they ticked off the ghost as well. Chains sprung forth in an attempt to enslave the gang.
The teens let go of Nikki as they separated and zigzagged around the store. Warren gave chase as the teen did their best to avoid capture.
Jude tried to hide under a display table, but the chain tapped his shoulder, scaring him before he jumped above and back under. The links rattled as the chase went on. With the table wrapped, it followed, destroying a mannequin display. The clothes ripped and tore.
"What are you doing!? Stop that!" Edward demanded. The chains dropped as he yelled.
Jen noticed what happened and got an idea.
"Quick, keep tearing up merchandise!" Jen cried out.
Everyone stopped ducking as they grew wicked smiles and began demolishing the store. Racks were torn off the walls as mirrors were smashed. Jonesy had an excellent idea of using a shard to cut the merchandise.
The ghost saw this and got raving mad.
"What are you doing?! Stop that!" He insisted, but the teenagers continued to wreck this place.
"Dude, just give us our friend back!" Jude shouted as he knocked over several mannequins.
"Never!"
"Then prepare to face our wrath!" Jonesy added as he crashed several clothes racks into the wall.
The teens had an edge as they decimated everything. At least that was the idea until Edward glowed greatly with a ghostly aura. The chains came back to life and lunged at the teens. They were so engrossed in the destruction, no one noticed Jude was captured as his neck was braced.
"Dudes!" Jude screamed.
Everyone stopped to see their friend suspended in the air struggling against his makeshift shackles. The boy held onto the links around his neck as he tried to pry them off.
"Like, what gives!? I thought stuff goes through us here!" At Jude's words, the boy phased through the chains. The dude blinked as he noticed the metal links wrap themselves around him again, only to phase through him again.
"Oh, yeah...I forgot about that," Caitlin said, walking through the chains.
Jonesy and Wyatt did the same as they walked towards the displays again.
"Come on, Nikki, let's give this creep some payback!" Jonesy said.
Nikki blinked as she studied her chains. Exhausting frustration was circulating through her.
"Wait...are you saying I could've escaped anytime!?" Nikki exclaimed. She immediately slipped through her bindings at her last word. Looking at the now limo bindings, the girl kicked them away as she smiled. With no hesitation, she joined in the mayhem and chaotic destruction.
It was time for revenge. Lots of destructive, teenage-angst filed rage.
Her heart jumped with joy as she took the sweaters she worked on and tore them up. After working in the Khaki Barn with the Clones for so long, she can't say she never wanted to do this. However, she'd never go through with it to keep her job. The girl wanted travel money.
Edward yelled as he tried to halt them. He flung some of the clothing at them, but some were caught and destroyed. He didn't know what to do as his efforts were made in vain.
They had the upper hand, but they needed a real edge. Hopefully, someone would come soon.
Meanwhile, Danny was finishing his homework. Ghostly activities had kept him away from most of his studies, and the uncommon break was a much needed and warm welcome. He had just finished math and moved on to his last subject, history, when his ghost sense went off with the usual blue wisp.
"You gotta be kidding me," he groaned. "Please tell me it's not the box ghost on a late night run."
After transforming and phasing through the window, Danny was met with surprise as he saw not the Box Ghost but Spectra. The two hadn't seen each other since the dating service, but it was evident the ghost girl missed him as she welcomed him with a hug.
"Danny!~" Spectra cooed. "It's ghoul to see you again."
Spectra explained her recent event with the teens, though she realized she forgot to asks for their names and left that part out.
Danny blinked before saying, "Say what now?"
"I said I saw some normies in the Ghost Zone looking for their friend. One of them flirted with me, but they told me a ghost took them from a mall in Canada."
Danny was stunned. A mall in Canada? It couldn't be. But he had to check because either way, humans couldn't last that long in the Ghost Zone without help.
"Please tell me you know where they went," Danny pleaded.
"I do. Follow me," Spectra beckoned as Danny followed.
Whatever was the case, the halfa hoped for the best. Not many ghosts were friendly. It was a rare occurrence to meet such a fellow in the Zone. And whoever kidnapped anyone was never called nice or good."
The two rushed through the air as they entered the Fenton Portal. Danny flew like a bullet, which left Spectra in the dust. Backing up, it was decidedly faster that the ghost boy carried the ghost girl. Spectra almost protested, but she gave in after thought. The ghoul blushed as she pointed the way to Danny in his arms.
It was almost like a dream, even to the point where it would end at the good part.
Meanwhile, the 6teens were busy holding off the angry ghost. Caitlin had found the ultimate merchandise but had to fight the debate in her heart whether or not to destroy it. Something that did not go unnoticed as Edward stared at her, begging with eyes not to have them destroyed.
"Come on, Caitlin!"
"You can do it!"
"Tear those jeans in half!"
"Oh, but these are vintage Denim jeans from the '70s! You can't get them anywhere! They discontinued these decades ago!"
The blonde was holding a rare pair of jeans. They looked so cute and were in her size. She put them against her thighs and legs to see how they looked before Nikki smacked her head.
"Caitlin!" Nikki roared.
The blonde screamed as she tore them in half. She closed her eyes for a moment, wishing she hadn't done that.
However, she also wished that didn't piss off Edward, who screamed loudly. His face scrunched up in anger as he floated menacingly over to the teens.
"No! those were a true Khaki item. An incredible product that could last generations, creating new families of conformity!" Edward said.
"I'm sure they would've," Nikki snarked.
Comment aside, what was the group to do now? Sure, they can't be touched, but no one wanted to find out the limits of that ability the hard way. Thinking fast, Caitlin threw the torn jeans, hoping to blind the ghost. But, they went over his head. If it weren't for the fact, he cared greatly for the product, who knows what could've happened next.
Edward Warren flew fast to catch them in hopes of somehow repairing them.
As the ghost caught the jeans, a blast of ice came and encased him, freezing him in place.
The teens turned to see the surprised face of Danny Phantom with an icy, steamy hand staring at them. They had never been so happy to see the ghostly hero. Even Nikki, who had been grabbed by Syndrome during the summer.
"It's Danny Phantom! Dude!" Jude cheered as his friend did the same.
"I'm glad you're here, but how did you know where to find us?" Jen asked.
"That ghost you met, Spectra. She told me," Danny replied.
"Huh..so, Jonesy's flirting actually helped?" Wyatt asked, looking at his friend. Jonesy gave a smug, suave grin as Nikki hit his head.
"Save it for after we get out of here," Nikki snarked. She took a deep breath as some normalcy came back into her life.
"Alright. Now, how to get you out of here?" Danny wondered. There was the Fenton Portal, but then he'd have to someone get them across the border to Canada. Not to mention none of the teens had their passports on them, a fact none of them realized or cared for at the moment.
Though while Danny was thinking, Jude couldn't help speaking his mind.
"Hey, do you know Danny Fenton?" Jude asked. His friends glared at him. Now was not the time, but the laid-back teen didn't know.
"The Fenton's son...I guess so," Danny said off-hand.
"Is there like a reason you two have the same name?"
Time stopped as the Canadian teenagers stared at Danny, whose train of thought derailed into a massive and horrendous crash.
"It just seems like a coincidence. Like the two Danny's have a similar name," Jude added.
"I always thought it was weird," Wyatt said, pointing to Phantom. "But this Danny is a ghost, and I think the Fenton's would notice him right away. I mean, they are ghost hunters."
Everyone nodded as Danny wiped his forehead. He dodged a bullet there, but that didn't stop Jude from staring at him funny. The blonde dude still had a lot of thoughts inside and had a habit of sucking everyone in. If it weren't for the screams coming from Edward Warren, they'd have forgotten about him.
But now Danny remembered and added more ice to his prison before guiding the teens out of the store and freezing the ghost's lair.
"You think our Danny is one that hot goth chick talked about on TV?" Jude asked, still speaking his mind.
"What hot goth chick?" Jen asked.
"The one on that new reality show."
Everyone glanced at the blonde space case. Danny blinked, wondering what the dude was talking about. He didn't see any show like that, but why did it sound familiar?
"Jude, what are you talking about?" Jonesy asked.
"That Totally Drama Island show. Katie and Sadie are there, and I wanted to see how they were doing."
"Hey, yeah! The one Brigitte was on," Wyatt said, recalling the previous summer date. He looked to Jonesy and smiled. "Isn't Beth in that show too?"
"We do not talk about that!" Jonesy yelled. He regretted already talking about the dates that chose him to the guys. Especially when Jude commented about someone of her details on tv.
Nikki, impatient with the distractions, glared at the boys as she got in between them.
"Hey, we were talking about hot chicks," Jude said.
"I don't care," Nikki said. "But I do have a question." She turned to Danny, who was still sweating a bit. "Am I cursed or something? Cause this is the second time a ghost grabbed me, and you had to save me."
Danny blinked, remembering the incident with Syndrome over the summer. "I don't think you're cursed," he replied. "But I'm not exactly an expert since ghosts mainly keep to themselves."
"Seriously?"
"Well, yeah, ghosts don't really care about each other unless they are part of a group or pack, I guess," Danny said, rubbing the back of his head. "Besides, I deal with ghosts who go out of the Ghost Zone."
"Dude, why do you do that, anyway?" Jude had to ask. "I mean, if ghosts leave each other alone, why don't you do that?"
The others were curious too. Maybe they could ask Mr. and Mrs. Fenton the next time they see them. But they had a more pressing matter, and Danny changed the subject.
"How about we save the Q and A for later? Right now, let's finally get you home," the ghostly hero replied.
"Ok, but how are you gonna carry all of us?" Nikki said. "Not that I'm complaining, but I don't think it'll be easy for you."
"Not to mention walking would take like forever," Jude added. "And we don't know where to go."
Danny pondered on that. They were right. And while in the Ghost Zone, they were the ghosts, they still needed a direct path to Canada. If only they had a portal—wait.
"I have an idea. Hold on," Danny said with a smile before flying off.
After ten anxiety-filled minutes, Danny came back with a large yeti ghost with part of ice on his body. The ghost boy gave a warm smile and said he was a friend. The ice, skeleton arm didn't convince much. Though Jude and Nikki kinda liked it.
"Greetings, young ones," the icy yeti said with a warm voice that calmed them. "Great One, here tells me you're in need of assistance. Allow me and my people to take you home."
Meanwhile, in Vlad Master's mansion, the mayor was seething made as he flipped a table. It wasn't important, and he could always buy a new one.
Now his plan to monitor Danny's progress with the Vultures was cut short as the ghost girl took the young halfa before his bride could do anything.
Vlad did his best to remain calm as he seated himself before the vultures. Too bad his calmness didn't last long.
"Unbelievable!" Vlad seethed, slamming his desk as the vultures gave the news. "I send you three out to see what Danny was up to, and apparently his girlfriend, who lives in Canada, somehow ventured into the Ghost Zone where her friend was taken!?"
The vultures nodded in sync. It was the oddest thing to hear when they overheard everything between Danny and Spectra.
"Well, boss, we had no clue that ghost who is obsessed with fashion would take one of her friends," The lead vulture said.
"Not to mention we didn't think he could open a portal like that," The one with sunglasses added.
Vlad still did not look pleased.
"How am I supposed to run things when Daniel keeps disappearing to save his girlfriend, who lives in another part of the world and—!" Vlad stopped as he listened to himself. He paced around the room, and gears ran furiously in his mind. His fury dissipated as a smile grew. It started out innocent before turning devious. By the time he turned to the vultures, it had grown malicious.
"So, we did good?" the lead vulture asked.
"I believe...we have a unique opportunity on our hands," Vlad said as he looked out his office window. "Maybe even one for a grander scheme." Vlad held his fingers together. "Yes...I can see it now."
"So we did do good!" one of the vultures said as the others nodded happily.
Vlad sighed as he ignored, thinking of his grand scheme, no, his grand dream.
Nikki is safe, and Vlad is scheming. Sorry for taking so long with this one, but things will be picking up. And it looks like Spectra helped out and met Jen, although they don't know they know Danny...for now. Anyway, we'll get a taste of Vlad's plan next chapter. Coming out this month. I hope you enjoyed it and have a nice day. If you have any options or comments, please leave a review. Thank you.

William Escobar 608: 1) Edward Warren, como se presentó. 2) Una mordaza corriente. Eso se puede rectificar en este fic. 3) Comedia. 4) No se trata de si puede atraparlo, es más como si pudiera luchar contra un antihéroe empuñando una katana y con un arma.
