/I need y'all to know to know I made a whole ass playlist for this fic so I'd keep my headspace can we say committed?! /
The rest of the week went by in a monotonous blur. The usual first week of classes and getting schedules in order. Also applying for their hero internships in the spring. Each morning, Sunni was in the gym to clear her mind for the day ahead, Mina had accompanied a couple of times. She wanted to learn more workouts to help with stamina and muscle gain. Sunni was happy to teach her. The two had grown close over the short period of time.
Honestly, her entire class had been welcoming and kind. Well...there were a couple of odd eggs: Bakugo of course, who attempted his usual intimidation tactics. Then there was the creature of...Mineta. He needed more help than anyone could afford. She hoped he would stay away from her tomorrow when they went to the pool. She had signed for the space earlier in the day. The days were still hot, so why not swim?
"Hey Sunni," the pink girl beamed and plopped in the common room on the couch beside the red head, "Working on homework already?"
Sunni smiled and nodded, "I don't have a choice. I'm double majoring so-"
Iida looked up from his own assignments at his seat across the room, "I'm sorry what?"
She blinked her ice blue eyes, "Oh, um, I'm taking the hero course, but I'm also studying in communications and relations."
"That makes my brain hurt." Mina ran a hand through her hair, "when do you sleep?"
Sunni laughed and closed her book, "I live off of coffee and dreams at this point. But," she stood stretching, "I'll be finished with Comm and Relations this term. I had enough credits when I came over."
Iida thought for a moment, "That's impressive. Why the double major though, if you don't mind my asking."
"Because, it's always good to have a fallback," she smiled and walked into the kitchen grabbing a bottled water, "life is unpredictable."
"That makes a lot of sense," the rep pushed his glasses and turned back to his book.
Sunni gathered her books, "I'm going for a run now that the sun is setting. You wanna come?" She looked at Mina.
"I promised Kiri we would study," she smiled, "Rain check?"
"I'll share you tonight," Sunni chuckled and walked to her room. She plopped all of her books down and shut her door with a tired sigh. "A short jog and hot shower, then I need to work on the music...then," she yawned, "SLEEP."
She changed into a pair of black leggings and black halter top tank. With her hair up into a high ponytail and her tennis shoes on, she made her way down to campus.
Dusk was her favorite time of day. The colors were muted, and the sky was painted the most beautiful red, pinks, purples, and grays. She breathed in the humid air and let it out slowly closing her eyes, listening to the evening sounds. She popped in her AirPods and began walking to warm up.
She waved at a few students as she passed, making her way to the trails. This campus had everything...she was thankful, but it was a little ridiculous. She picked up her pace once she reached a trail into a light jog, focusing on her breathing. She tried to keep her mind blank and decompress, but thoughts of everything came flying in and out. She was mostly stressed about the music situation, being a writer for her brother's band was difficult sometimes, along with school and training, she felt as little spread thin.
She stopped for a moment in annoyance when she lost her cycle breathing and began to lose her breath. "Dammit," she sighed.
"You good?"
She spun around to see a student she didn't know, but had passed in the hallways. He was in the support class, though, she wasn't sure what year. His ruffled his black hair as his green eyes looked her over. She smiled and let out a breath, "Yeah I just lost my concentration is all."
He chuckled, "You're new right? In the Hero Class?"
She nodded, "Yes, I'm here to finish out my term," she held out her hand, "Sunni."
He took it, "It's nice to meet you Sunni. Call me, Tashiro."
He held her hand for a moment, but she pulled it away. "Nice to meet you."
"You stressed? Coming to U.A. and all?"
"Definitely," she laughed, "I like to run out here to let off the steam."
"You know," he took a step towards her, "I could always help with that."
Sunni blinked, "I don't follow-"
Tashiro chuckled, "You're cute. I mean like we could hook up sometime."
Ugh of course, she thought to herself. He's cute, but definitely a major creep. The red head took a step back and cleared her throat, "Nah, I'm good." She pointed back towards the school, "I should get going before the sun sets-"
"Sunni come on," Tashiro cooed, "it'd be a good time."
She opened her mouth to respond when a deep voice came from behind Toshiro, "Get the fuck outta here sleaze bag. She said No."
Toshiro turned around and was nose to nose with an angry Bakugo. The green eyed man blinked and smirked, "What you speak for her or somethin?"
Bakugo smirked, "You wanna find out?"
"Maybe," Toshiro rolled his shoulders back.
"Bakugo, don't waste energy on this," Sunni stood beside him, "he's already embarrassed I denied him."
Toshiro's eye twitched, "Listen here bitch-" he went to raise his hand and when she reached out and grabbed it twisting, bending him to a knee. "y-you're not supposed to use quirks on campus-"
She chuckled darkly, "I'm not, you're just a weak ass pretty boy who doesn't know what 'No' means." She leaned down to look in his eyes, "You're lucky he showed up or you'd be on a stretcher. Stay the fuck away from me and my class...am I clear?"
"Y-yeah," he winced.
"I'm sorry, what was that," she twisted more.
"Yes ma'am," he yelped.
She let go and pushed him back onto the ground, "You ruined my workout..." she smiled at Bakugo, "Funny seeing you out here."
He blinked. The way she could flip the switch threw him off. One minute she seemed like she could snap someone, the next she was all smiles and witty remarks. He rolled his eyes and brushed her shoulder, moving past her, "Let's go before you cause anymore issues."
She laughed and caught up with him, "You didn't have to waste your time."
"It wasn't wasted," he ground his teeth, "I can't stand dumbasses like that. It's better he learns his lesson now."
Sunni smirked and nodded, "Hopefully that was enough."
Their walk was quiet until she saw their dorm and frowned. He rolled his eyes, "What's your problem now?"
"I just took a run to escape and now I'm back," she rubbed her eyes, "I have to work on some music for my brother."
"What he can't write his own?" Kirishima had told him that Sunni was a musician, so he wasn't surprised.
She stretched her arms up and shook her head, "He comes up with the concept and I help put it into legible lyrics." Her eyes landed on him, "They told me you are musically inclined." She motioned to the dorm and she walked up the steps.
He sighed, "Yeah, something like that."
Sunni opened the door with her key card and smiled, "I think that's cool. You strike me as a drummer type."
The blond scoffed, following her into the common room, "What the hell does that mean?"
She tossed him a bottle of water and scanned the room to see the room was clear. Walking up to him she smiled, "Some of the most passionate and inspiring people I've ever met, were drummers."
She took a swing of her water and gave a wave, "Thank you for walking back with me."
He took another swig of water before heading to the boys wing. She always found a way to get the last word in.
What the two didn't see, however, was a pair hiding on the other side of the kitchen island, in the floor. Mina smiled, "Ohhhh this is interesting."
Kirishima smirked, "Let's take bets."
She puffed her cheeks and lightly smacked his arm, "No way! They're our friends!" She thought for a moment, "Honestly, we should just see how this plays out."
"Are you sick or something," Kirishima stood and held out his hand, "I would've thought you'd be all over this sorta thing."
Mina took his help, standing, "Yes but," she looked at him, "they're our friends. I would hate to get them together and something bad happen...ya know? If we stay out of it, then there's no guilt." Kirishima thought for a moment and nodded. "But we can encourage them," Mina added with a giggle.
