The next day, Sunday, was quiet. It had rained most of the day, storms rolling in here and there. Sunni hung out in the common room for a while, until Sero and Denki started making plans to turn Denki into a human lightning rod. When Iida began lecturing, she took that as her queue to leave. She did tell Momo to video it if they actually did it.

She passed by Ochako's room to see her and Deku curled up, looking through a magazine. She knocked softly. Ochako smiled, "Hey Sunni."

She smiled back, "Hey, sorry to bother you two. I was just going to ask Deku if he wanted to train tomorrow after school."

The green haired boy grinned, "Yes! That would be great! Do you think you'll be okay though?"

Sunni chuckled, "Yeah it won't be anything too crazy. Ochako you can come ref if you want to."

The brown haired girl nodded and smiled, "I'll be there."

Sunni laid back on her bed and sighed. She couldn't lie, sometimes she was envious of Ochako and Mina. They had great men in their lives they could curl up with on rainy days. Someone they could find comfort and solace in. Her eyes landed over at her guitar, "I've got you Poe."

She began to watch another round of storms roll through, rain hitting her window in slow almost rhythmic sounds. A knock came from her door, she turned her head, "Come in."

Bakugo walked in, dressed in a white t-shirt and black sweat pants. He shut the door behind him quietly so no one would bother them. She sat up and smiled, "Hey there neighbor."

"Here," he handed her a book, "I thought you'd find this helpful."

She took it and clutched it to her chest dramatically, "You thought of me," she teased.

"Don't get carried away," his amused eyes studied her carefully, soaking her in. She wore a grey oversized knitted sweater and black biking shorts. Her hair was pulled half back with a clip, a few rogue strands had escaped to frame her face.

"How can I not?" She joked, "the school tough guy's bringing me a book." She huffed dramatically, "Novels are written on such things."

He raised an eyebrow, "You're insane."

She laughed, "Eh, it makes life fun." She bit her lip, eagerly opening the book, "What's this one on?"

He sat on her bed, "This one is about a bunch of people All Might rescued. They all gave their testimonies."

"Oh wow," she flipped through the pages, "this will be amazing to have," she winked, "thank you Bakugo." Thunder sounded, causing her blue orbs to look outside, "This is my favorite type of weather."

"Same," he tore his eyes from her to the window, "It makes me sleep."

"Exactly. The sound kind of lulls you and pauses your mind for a while," she set the book on her night stand. "So have you been sleeping all day? I knew it was quiet around here."

He laid back on her bed and shook his head, "No smart ass. I trained with stupid hair today, then finished my intern application."

Her eyes came back to him, "Who are you hoping for?"

He shrugged, "I've worked with a good number of them by this point." He looked at her, "What about you?"

"Honestly, I'm not sure," she nervously looked out of the window again, "I don't know any of them except for our teachers. I haven't been around long enough for any of them to know me."

"They'll find someone for you," he calmly said as thunder sounded once more, "your quirk is useful, and you've had a lot of training from the States."

She nodded with a small smile, "Yeah I'm pretty cool."

He chuckled and closed his eyes, "Sunni."

She blinked, he'd never used her name before, "Yes?"

He turned his head and opened his eyes, looking at her, "What's your actual name?"

"O-oh, um," she looked at him. He caught her off guard. She thought for a moment, battling on if she should tell him. He already knew so much about her, what could it hurt, "It's...um, Hallie."

"Hallie," he said, staring at her ceiling, "where the hell did Sunni come in?"

"A song I wrote for my brother. He calls me Sunshine." She swallowed dryly.

"He should've called you pain in the ass," he sat up on his elbows, "I'm not gonna tell anyone."

She smiled on relief, "I appreciate you." The rain picked up, beating on the window, "I was going to train today. I think it'll be a rest day."

"That's fair," another clap of thunder clashed and he yawned.

"Let's take a nap," Sunni yawned. He furrowed his brows at her, "Not in that way, punk." She took the clip out of her hair, "It's just the perfect afternoon for one, don't you think? Besides, the company is nice once in a while."

This girl was out of her damn mind if she thought for a moment he was going to lay down in her bed... "Fine," he spoke barely above a whisper. The words came out before he could stop them.

She laughed moving her phone to her nightstand, "Such a way with words. Literal poet of our generation."

He frowned and hit her with a pillow, "Shut the fuck up."

She smiled and laid back against her own pillow, "I'm just telling the truth."

Bakugo laid his head on her other pillow, the scent of lavender filling his senses as he rolled to his side, facing her. She yawned and closed her blue orbs. He laid there for a moment, watching as her slow, even breathing settled in. Was this a mistake, probably. Fuck it. His eyes grew heavy, the sounds of of the storm pushing for him to sleep. The smell of lavender encompassing him, and for the first time in a long time, Katsuki Bakugo relaxed.

It had been a couple of hours, Mina hadn't heard from her friend and wanted to check in on her. She slowly opened the door and almost screamed at the scene before her.

Sunni was wrapped up in Bakugo's arms, her head buried in his neck. His arm was wrapped around her, his face was in her hair, breathing deeply. The only light in the room was the small desk lamp across the room.

Mina slowly backed out and closed the door, RUNNING to find Kirishima.

A hefty flash of lightning jolted Sunni awake. Her heart was beating against her chest. The room was pitch dark, the power had gone out at some point. Her hands gripped the shirt of a stirring Bakugo.

"You good?" His sleepy voice lowly sounded from his chest. He had yet to register how close he actually was to her.

"Yeah, I guess the lightning woke me up." Her voice was soft and sleepy, "Sorry."

He hand pulled her head back to his chest, shielding her eyes, "Hush."

The smell of smoky caramel hit her nose as she breathed deeply, relaxing again. She didn't care what time it was, this...this was nice. She hadn't slept like this in as long as she could remember.

Bakugo came to his senses and reached for his phone. It was just after midnight. He blinked down at Sunni, thinking. Should he just stay? His alarm was set. No, he knew better. None of this was right. This wasn't supposed to happen. "Sunni," he softly said in her ear. She stirred against him, almost back to sleep. He smirked, "Sunni, wake up."

"I don't want to," she sleepily pouted.

He let out a breath, "I'll make you a deal."

Her sleepy blue eyes squinted at him in the darkness, "It better be worth my time..."

"I'll stay, if you change out of that hot ass sweater," he couldn't sleep next to that wool thing with his body temperature. He was surprised he had been able to nap so long.

She held a sleepy thumbs up, "Deal." She grabbed her phone and made her way to her dresser, using it as a light. She yawned pulling out a t-shirt. "Can't believe you woke me up over a sweater..."

Sleepy Sunni amused him, "Is that how you feel?"

"Yeah," she pulled her sweater over her head. His red eyes snapped away, giving her privacy as she continued to speak, "I haven't slept this good in forever." She pulled on the t-shirt and glared tiredly, "and you go and wake me up."

He scoffed, "Let's go brat before I change my mind."

"Don't boss me," she plopped on the bed, sitting her phone back down, "I'm the boss."

He chuckled, "Mmmmno, you're delusional."

Sunni smirked at him in the darkness, "Who is in whose bed?" She laid down once more, pulling a blanket over her legs. She reached out for him, "Don't pretend to be shy now."

He wrapped his arms around her as she nestled against him once more. He didn't have a witty comeback, well, not one he felt like sharing. She snuggled into his neck. Why was he doing this? Why did this feel so calm? Nothing made sense. It wasn't supposed to be like this. His racing thoughts began to give manifest anxiety, making his heart rate pick up.

Sunni felt his pulse and lifted her head to look at him, "Relax." Her voice was soft, calm. "It's okay."

He looked away from her, "I shouldn't be here."

"Bakugo," he looked at her, "If you want to leave I won't stop you. If you want to stay, that's okay too. There's no strings here...I promise."

"No strings?"

She shook her head, "None. No expectations, ever."

He pulled her back down against him and let out a long breath. Her hand wound into his hair, slowly playing with it. Lavender filled his senses once more, making his eyes heavy, the sounds of the wailing storm pushing him once more into a deep sleep.

Sunni laid quietly for a while. It hadn't occurred to her that Bakugo had never didn't really have someone who he could go to like this. Everyone expected him to act and behave a certain way. It was then she decided she would be the safe space. Whether it meant moments like this or bantering back and forth, he needed to let go before everything consumed him.
