Welp, I've decided to write another part to this strange story.

Kilo8: Thank you! It was a random idea that popped up in my head so I just wrote it.

A year had passed since we had returned to Shizuoka. I was sitting in a refrigerated room, personally developed for me, flipping through a grade 8 biology textbook when Momo opened the door, dressed in winter gear.

"Hey Hyokyu! What did you learn today?" She inquired curiously. I gathered up some ice and formed a human arm with it. I waved at her with the new arm. In the previous year, after speedrunning grade 7 chemistry, that ice that I controlled could mimic other elements in their solid state somehow (excluding radioactive elements), but when I lost control, it turned back into the state of ice.

"Wow! That's amazing! You can make and throw snowballs now!" Momo said gleefully.

I touched the ground of ice, taking control over a small portion of it, before ejecting a ball of snow at Momo.

"Right, you could do that already." Momo giggled, wiping snow off her face. She sat down and looked over my head at the biology textbook. "Wow, that's so complicated! How do you have so much time to do this?"

I drew a picture of a bed on the ground and drew a cross through it.

"Ah, you don't have to sleep. I forgot." Momo said, sighing. "I'm only doing basic maths and Japanese. It's boring, but I would never learn as fast as you." I nodded while disassembling the arm, making room so I could construct a snowman. Momo squealed with delight and picked up a pair of sticks, sticking them onto the snowman.

"Look at me! I'm Mr Snowman! I like singing and dancing!" Momo said gleefully while waving the sticks of the snowman around. I internally smiled and transferred my core to the snowman, ejecting the sticks and making some out of snow. It was a bit of a struggle controlling it, but I could with enough concentration.

I leapt around a bit, pulling some moves that would satisfy a 6-year-old while Momo laughed, singing an entertaining song for me to dance to. After a while, I ejected myself back onto the snow and reconstructed my body and Momo left to do her homework.

I finished the biology textbook and moved onto one about computer science. A CPU? Sounds interesting…

The time had come for me to try out expanding my brain. The issue with my limits were I didn't have enough concentration to manage more than a bit of ice at one time, but if I created more processing power and linked it to my core, it would help. My current limits were about 20 times my core size, and I could match Momo in height.

I focused on the snow placed on my head and created a very basic computer chip. I had learnt how to create it preprogramed. Theoretically, if I were to connect this to my brain, good things will happen. I nervously created a snow wire and attached it to the microchip. Nothing happened.

Right, power. Crap.

After consulting Momo about the power issue, I had a generator attached to the top of my head. Uncomfortable, but it would have to do. I powered it up, and it felt… strange to say the least. Though it did feel as if my brain had seemingly expanded a decent amount. I gathered up as much snow as I can and pilled it underneath me, raising my core.

Once I hit the 20 times mark, I kept going. Until I stopped at 21 times. Underwhelming, but it was an improvement. I deconstructed the structure I had created and disconnected the computer chip and generator. I would investigate it more in the future, but I had a Momo coming home I needed to entertain.

I sat in the corner and waited for Momo to return, busying myself with the biology book. Then Momo jumped through the door, carrying a strange pack. "Look Hyokyu! I brought you a portable home!" The device was bulky, yet intuitive. It looked to be a regular backpack, but when Momo opened the main pack, it was refrigerated to below 0 degrees so that I wouldn't melt. "I'm taking you to the park!" She declared.

I mentally shrugged and jumped into the pack, rearranging my ice to fit snugly inside. Momo zipped it up and I was shrouded in darkness. A bit of shuffling later, the bag was reopened, and I was exposed to the brilliant outdoors. Momo pulled me out of the bag and set me down in the shade of a tree. I regrew my legs so I could walk around again.

Observing my surroundings, I saw countless trees that stretched into the sky, creating a thick canopy. The shade created was pleasant, as it protected both me and Momo from the hot summer's sun. Scattered around the park were a few picnic benches, a place for families to enjoy their meals.

Momo lead me to a nearby table, which she sat and brought out a picnic basket. "It's so nice out here Hyokyu!" She said, smiling at me. She drew from the picnic basket a sandwich and a bag of ice cubes. "I know you don't eat, so I brought you these! It's the closest you'll get to eating anyway."

I nodded and sacrificed a leg to create an arm to pick up some ice, fusing with it. "I never asked, how old are you anyway?" Momo asked. I pondered this for a moment. I wasn't too sure how old I was. I gained sentience about 7 years ago, so I was a year older than Momo. But how old was my core exactly? I don't know. So, I just held up 7 fingers on my ice arms.

Momo nodded and took a bite out of her sandwich. "Are… you human? With a quirk I mean." She asked, hesitantly. I shook my head. I wasn't a human. I was made entirely of ice and required no bodily functions to survive. Was I even alive? Who knows. But then, who knew the limits of quirks?

(Now that I think about it, Hyokyu isn't actually alive. He only follows 3 of the 7 laws to be alive, movement, sensitivity and growth.)

Momo nodded again and watched me closely. "You're melting Hyokyu." She commented, holding the bag open for me to climb in. I did so, but she left the zipper open. "Don't worry about it wasting electricity. It's powered by an RTG fueled by uranium I made." She said while taking another bite of her sandwich.

I sat inside, enjoying the view of the outside, when we were interrupted by a loud crash in the trees. Momo tensed up and held an arm protectively over the bag. "Who's there?" She yelled. Suddenly, a large figure stumbled out, with whips for hands. "Ahh… fresh prey…" His speech was slurred, and he walked a bit unsteady.

"B-back off!" Momo screamed, picking up the bag I was in and walking backwards. Suddenly, the man dashed forward at inhuman speeds and was at Momo in seconds. He raised up his arm…

And slammed it into an ice wall. Me.

It stung like crazy and shattered a lot of ice, but I protected Momo. I gathered the remaining ice from the bag and used it to create a set of arms and legs. "W-what is that thing?" The man growled, turning his attention to me.

I formed the word "run" on my back, prompting Momo to start fleeing from the scene. The man swiped his whip at me, causing more ice to break off. I internally hissed in pain and retaliated with a cold sucker punch to the guts. I was too short to reach his face…

The man stepped back in shock, and I repaired the hole in my side. I launched myself at the man again, hitting him with a flurry of punches. He pushed me off him as I stumbled back. "Now you've done it!" He shouted, cracking his whips. He started to spin, making his whips spiral out in a deadly circle of pain.

I paced backwards, as the man chased me down. If I got hit with that, it technically wouldn't be game over, but it wouldn't be fun. My mind ran over the ideas I could do. Shielding up and firing myself like a cannon ball wouldn't work, but my mind flicked back to the time where I launched a snowball at Momo.

I held out my arm, and turned it into a spiked, before launching it as a projectile. It pierced through the man's whips and caught him in the side, grazing him and embedding itself into a nearby tree. He screamed in main and got down to clutch his side. I noticed I had sliced off some ropes off the whips and made a sizeable cut on his side.

I heard shuffling in the trees and Momo burst out, hugging me and sobbing. Behind her followed a squad of policemen and various pro heroes. "Now ma'am, you said it was this man that was threatening you and your friend?" Gesturing towards the man who had assaulted us. Momo nodded.

"Alright, we will take him in." One policeman said, while another pro hero inspected the cut and the icicle on the tree. "Public quirk usage isn't allowed," The pro hero said to me. I was unable to respond, but Momo did. "It was in self-defence. I believe that is allowed" she said quietly. The pro hero thought and nodded. "I see your point miss. Fortunately, you won't be arrested due to quirk usage in self-defence." The pro hero said, and the squad turned to leave.

Momo hugged me again, "Thank you Hyokyu! You protected me!" She cried. She held out her arm and produced more ice for me to absorb. "Let's go home." She said, picking me up and putting me into the bag, zipping it up and carrying me away.

I sat in the corner, watching the ice RTG work. I had the microchip hooked up to me again, and it was studying the biology textbook. Microchips were useful for multitasking. Since I didn't want to have a generator always hooked up to me, an RTG would provide a useful power source that Momo could refuel at any time.

I observed as the RTG melted as I continued to constantly repair it. It was producing power, enough to sustain a surprising number of devices. However, one of those devices would have to be a cooling device, to prevent the RTG from dying inside. I made a cooling device out of ice and hooked it up.

Unfortunately, the cooling device also started to melt, which would require more cooling devices, but those would melt as well. I needed some way to expel the hot air and keep my insides cool.

Then, I had an idea. I snapped the biology textbook closed and started to concentrate…

I laid down, sprawled out on the ground. I had done it! My great project! Sure, it took a few years, but it was well worth it!

I kind of. I was back to square 1, I couldn't move. My balance was way off, and when I tried to pick myself back up, I just collapsed again. When Momo entered the room, she grinned at me. "You did it! You managed to get a human form!"

I had, it was a challenging experience, but it was so awesome. I had better arms and legs, an amazing cooling system and more brainpower. I also had a voice box!

"Aarraaghh…" I grumbled. I couldn't use it yet. I had copied the appearance of an image of young boy I found on the internet, colours and all. But I made it so badly it looked like someone completely different. I suppose it was a good thing…

My brain consisted of many semi-powerful microchips I had made, which expanded my capacity to over 50 times my size! Well over the height of an adult. Since the cooling system was limited to an area, I had taken inspiration from the human heart to pump cold liquid ice-mercury around my body, to prevent things from melting.

The stomach and intestines were replaced by RTGs and batteries, which technically meant I could now eat. My diet consisted of radioactive elements, but it was eating, nonetheless. The part I was most proud of was the pseudo lungs. They acted as a ventilation system, pumping hot air out, and pumping cold air in.

The cold air acted as a heat sink for the coolers, located where the kidneys are supposed to go. They pushed all the heat into the cold air, and I exhaled the hot air… which was about 50C. This prevented my body from melting and providing me with extra brainpower I could use for more stuff! Momo just used me as a charging port now.

And so the next year was spent teaching me how to walk and talk. It wasn't too hard, given that I already developed walking, I just needed to find the right balance again. And talking wasn't too hard, given I already knew the language.

Then Momo's 11th birthday rolled around, and we were invited to attend Somei Academy, one of the most prestigious middle school academies in all of Shizuoka. I had already learnt all of the middle school content, but I was there to keep Momo company.

"Goodbye Sir!" Me and Momo both bid the butler farewell as we stepped through the gates of Somei. During the previous year, I had made several technological advancements that allowed me to stay icy better. More efficient coolers, better microchips, a water vapour harvester, etc. I was kitted out with a mask that cooled my breath so I would have even better coolants in my body, and I wouldn't melt anyone when breathing out.

"Hello fellow classmates!" We heard a voice from behind us. I turned and saw a tall slim figure with glasses and blue hair. He walked to us in a fashion similar to a robot and stuck out his hand. "My name is Tenya Iida! It is a pleasure to meet you!"

Momo accepted the handshake and so did I. When Iida touched my hand, he withdrew it in shock. "You seem to be very cold. Are you sick?" I shook my head. "It's part of my… quirk." I said. I technically didn't have a quirk, but everyone thought it was, so I would just say it was. It would be weird if I told them I was a sentient ice cube.

"My name is Momo Yaoyarozu" Momo greeted Iida.

"My name is Hyokyu." I introduced myself.

"Do you have a family name I can refer to you by?" Iida asked. I shook my head.

"I… don't actually know who my family is. I was adopted by the Yaoyarozus when I was young, and I didn't feel like it was right to adopt their surname." I said.

"Ah," Iida said, "Well, that mask you are wearing is against uniform policy, it is disrespectful to tarnish the prestigious uniform of Somei Academy."

"Hyokyu got it approved." Momo said. "He could take it off, but you'd be fried by 50 degree air." I nodded.

"I see. Well then, we should be going to our classes now. It is important to be punctual for every class." He said before turning and marching off in the direction of school. I rolled my eyes. "What a strange fellow." I commented. Momo giggled and led us to our first class.

Maths was boring. It was boring due to a natural phenomenon called "Do all your work in the past 3 years." I used my right hand to solve all the equations while using my left to create miniature ice sculptures. Suddenly, a chalk hit me in the head.

"Ow!" I yelled out.

The teacher tutted and exclaimed. "Focus Hyokyu!" I just sat back in my chair and reabsorbed all the ice, doing anything but focusing. I had finished the worksheet by the halfway mark, earning me a stare from the teacher. When the end of class came, the teacher was picking up all the papers and smirked when he came to me.

Then a look of shock overcame him.

And then I was dismissed to lunch.

When I sat down at the lunch table, Momo joined me, chuckling. "The face the teacher made! That was priceless!" She choked out between breaths. I smirked and pulled out my bento box full of ice sprinkled with uranium.

"Excuse me Hyokyu!" I heard Iida yell from behind me. I turned to look at him. "Yes?" I asked politely. "What you did today was incredibly disrespectful and shouldn't be excused!"

"Well maybe." I said, throwing some of the ice into my mouth. "But I was finished"

"Even still, you should listen to the teacher!" He reprimanded. I sighed and poked my ice cubes a bit. "And why on earth are you eating ice?" He asked. "Shouldn't you be eating something else more nutritious?"

"Dude, stop poking your nose into other's businesses. I'm made entirely out of ice." I said, exasperated. "And you might want to back off a bit, this is radioactive." I calmly said.

"What! Radioactive? That is an unsafe material and should not be carried around in a prestigious and safe environment like this!"

"Hyokyu, just ignore him." Momo said. I nodded and continued to eat.

"Ignoring me? That is an inexcusable action-"

With Iida screaming in the background, I was beginning to enjoy my new life in Somei.
