/I wanted to put out another chapter for Valentine's Day tomorrow :) my gift to you /

Sunni snuck in as quietly as she could. It was late, she hoped Bakugo had kept her cover. She was supposedly resting per Recovery Girl's orders. She quietly walked into the common room to see Jiro sipping some juice. They both blinked and looked at one another.

Sunni smiled, "What are you doing up?" She walked over to the fridge to grab a water for bed.

"I was studying and got thirsty," Jiro smiled back, "You did a great interview...I also like what you did with your hair."

The red head bit her lip, "I hope it's okay that I talked about-"

"Yeah, of course," she sat silent for a moment, "it meant a lot to hear what that meant to you."

"So it was you," both girls jumped when they heard Bakugo's voice from the darkened hallway.

Jiro blinked, "Wait."

Sunni sighed, "Ah, the demon on my shoulder makes an appearance..." she smiled at Jiro, "He knows."

"Oh, so that's why he was covering for you tonight," the girl smirked, finishing her drink, "how sweet of you Bakugo."

"Don't go runnin your mouth," the blond warned.

She scoffed, getting up to place her cup in the sink, "I've kept quiet this long, tomorrow they'll all know anyways."

Sunni let out a long nervous breath, "Yeah I know..."

Jiro walked over and gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze, "It'll be fine. I'll see you there, yeah?"

Sunni smiled and nodded, watching her walk towards the girls wing. She walked over to Bakugo and smacked his shoulder, "That's for startling me."

He narrowed his eyes, "Do that again and I'll break your arm."

She smiled, brushing past him, "Lies. I want to put my comfy clothes back on."

He followed her quietly to her room. She closed the door and looked at him, "What's so heavy on your mind?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Believe it or not, I do pay attention," she walked to her dresser.

"How are you feeling," he sat on her bed, changing the subject.

"A little tired," she turned to face him, "If I go change and wash my face, can you behave?"

He rolled his eyes, "Your staying in my room tonight. I don't wanna hear that nerd calling me worrying anymore."

"Says who," she crossed her arms stubbornly.

Bakugo stood, closing the distance between them, "I do." He opened the door, "Go."

She growled in frustration and walked out of the door. He smiled knowing he had successfully annoyed her.

She changed into a pair of grey cotton shorts, something soft on her still somewhat sensitive skin. She pulled a black long sleeve shirt over her head, it was loose, not rubbing too much against her. She looked at herself in the mirror, glancing at the white streak of hair she now sported, a moment of anxiety hitting her, "Get over yourself..."

She walked into Bakugo's room and shut the door. He was laying back reading a book, she smirked, "Wow I didn't know you could read." She laughed as she dodged the book, "You know I'm funny."

She picked up the book and began to look through it quietly. His red eyes watched her, "What was it like?"

"Which part?"

"Living like that," he sat up on his elbows.

"Hmmmmm, well, after our parents died, all we had was one another. I was homeschooled. Tobias was worried people would hound me because of him." She sat on his bed, "The crew and band were my family...they are my family. Sometimes it was lonely." A smile crept into her face, "But when I was on stage with them, that felt like home."

"Is your brother gonna be living in Japan?"

"Part of the time. He has an apartment not far from here. I'll take you there sometime, I think you would really like him." She handed his book back, "I'm almost done with the lyrics for the game awards."

"Good," he yawned and opened his book back up, "They'll probably ask us to sign up for security again."

She tilted her head, "Will you?"

"Maybe."

She thought for a moment, "It would make me feel better if you were there." She swallowed and look at her hands, "I don't know any of those people."

He was quiet for a moment, processing his train of thought. "I guess I'll do it," he glared from his book.

She chuckled softly before settling herself under the covers, "My hero."

He smirked and grunted, "Someone has to be."

She relaxed as his scent filled her senses, "Why do smell so good?"

He blinked caught off guard, "...Because I fucking shower." She laughed and gave the the middle finger. He watched her settle for a minute before getting up and shutting off his light. He climbed into bed and wrapped around her. She buried her face into his neck, breathing softly. Her hands lightly held his shirt. His hands wound into her hair as he breathed in the calming lavender. This doesn't need to become a habit, he once again reminded himself as he fell into slumber.

"Don't let go," Sunni's scared voice echoed in his mind.

He opened his eyes to see he was gripping her arm as she hung off the side of a building. She was in her hero suit, but you could tell there had been a battle of some kind. Small cuts littered her skin and her full, bottom lip was busted.

"Please, Katsuki, don't let me go," she desperately clung to him. Her blue eyes were terrified. He gripped her arm, but could feel her slipping. The sound of gunfire boomed in his ears. He watched helplessly as she fell from his grasp.

Bakugo shot up, breathing heavy. He blinked to gather his surroundings. Sunni slowly sat up, "Hey, are you okay?"

He took a deep breath and nodded. The moonlight came through his window through the blinds. He could see her concern, "I'm fine."

"Do you want me to get you some water-" she made a move to get up, but he pulled her to him. He studied her face for a moment before pulling her lips to his.

It was a slow, gentle kiss. Nothing like what you'd expect from who someone who was normally so harsh. She snaked her hands to his shoulders. He pulled away from her briefly before they made contact again, his hands snaked into her hair. He wasn't sure why he was doing what he was. He didn't understand what possessed him, but here he was. Frankly, it felt damn good.

Did she have any thoughts? Nope. Her mind was mush the moment his lips touched hers again. This was a dangerous game they were playing. She knew that. But it didn't feel dangerous, it felt, safe. Safe was what she felt with him.

He reluctantly pulled away, resting his forehead against hers. She reached her hand up, gently stroking his cheek. She could see him fighting with himself. An inner struggle of some kind. She kissed his forehead, "Come here." She pulled him down and laid his head on her chest. He quietly laid against her, his mind was racing. She slowly traced his small circles on his arm, "When I was younger," her voice was soft, "my mom would do this when I had a bad dream...it works every time."

After a few minutes she felt him relax, making her smile. She was glad he felt secure enough with her to share this side of him. He moved and buried his face into her neck, taking a deep breath. She wrapped her arms around him as he drifted back to sleep. It was her turn to protect him.
