"Listen up, don't make me look stupid out there," Aizawa sat at his desk, looking out at the class, "In your envelopes are your assigned Pros for the week. This weekend is the formal." He sipped a coffee and yawned, "Some of you will be with Pros you've worked with in the past. Others I've switched around. You'll be working actual shifts. Some will be days, others will be at night..." he stood, "Go make me proud."
When he left the room, the classroom was silent except for the opening of their envelopes. Bakugo sighed. He was back with Endeavors agency again. Deku was as well. At least they knew how to handle him. Todoroki was oddly paired with Present Mic, as well as Denki. Mina was with the same agency as before, as well as Ochako and Sero. Kirishima blinked, he would be with Mr. Aizawa. Sunni tilted her head as she read her paper. Such an odd choice, did he choose her on purpose?
"Who'd you get," Mina leaned over her shoulder curiously.
"It seems as though I'll be with our loving teacher," she chuckled. "I'll be on nightshift."
Kirishima fist pumped, "Same! We'll get to kick some ass!"
She looked at Mina and sighed, "This is going to be a long week..."
The first two nights were uneventful. Just a couple of petty theft cases. Sunni and Kirishima made a pretty good duo. Neither of them hesitated when entering a situation and used their quirks well together. He was the defense, while Sunni played offense.
Tonight though, storms were moving in. The sky had been dark and grey the whole day, which let her rest peacefully. The dorms had been quiet for the most part. Everyone got home at different times and were usually exhausted. Mina and some of the others would group text while on patrol, just to keep tabs. She would reply when she had a moment, but she really tried to grasp the experience and learn what she could.
She yawned and stretched, slowly sitting up. It would be a few hours until they were meeting up with their Pro. Lazily getting out of bed, she dressed in maroon sweats and a white workout top. She decided to go to the gym to get her blood pumping.
"Hey hey partner," Kirishima's all too cheery voice came from the weight room when she walked in.
She yawned and waived, "Why do you have this much energy?"
He gave her his signature shark-toothed grin, "Because, tonight's gonna be fun."
"Tch, maybe for you," Bakugo's voice came from the weight rack. "We've been on the sideline."
"Why would tonight be any different than the past couple," she sat on a bench and laced up her shoes.
"It's a full moon," Deku sat beside her and smiled, "not to mention the weather."
"Ah, I see," she casually walked over to the shoulder press machine, "good thing I came here first then."
The boys made idle chatter while working out. Sunni stretched her limbs quietly and pulled her hair back. She looked at the weights on the press and thought for a moment before placing more.
Kirishima sauntered over with a grin, "You gonna max out?"
She blinked, "No, just something quick to get blood moving."
"There's no way," he crossed his arms.
She tiled her head with a small smile, "What, just because I'm not bulky doesn't mean I'm not stout."
"Let's see it then," he hit his fists together, "five reps."
Sun I rolled her eyes and sat in the machine, "Ten."
Deku chuckled and shook his head, putting his weights away. Bakugo stopped to watch quietly. Surly she could do five, but ten? No way.
The girl let out a breath before grabbing the handles casually. "Are you going to count? Sometimes I lose my place and have to start over."
The fellow red head gave her an enthusiastic thumbs up as she started, "One...Two..."
Fifteen. She did fifteen reps at almost three times her body weight. Bakugo was throughly impressed. Deku was as well. Kirishima was in denial, why? Because she was just forty pounds shy from his max.
She stood quietly and took off the extra weights, placing them back where they went. She chuckled, "Kiri, thank you for counting."
He grinned, a new challenge popped into his mind. He was going to work and get his weights higher. Before he could speak, Mina peeped her head in and smiled, "Sunni, you beat us here today!"
"Do you all work out together?" Deku asked.
"The girls asked me to help them out," Sunni moved past them to the door, towards the punching bags and mats, "so we've been working on some hand to hand."
Mina giggled, "She's a really great teacher. You guys should join sometime."
"Like I need help from her," Bakugo spat.
Sunni gave him a smirk, "Honestly, it wouldn't do you any good...I'd still beat your ass."
Kirishima and Deku snickered quietly, trying not to get caught in their amusement. Bakugo stood and walked up to her, "Prove it then. No quirks."
"Sure thing," she turned and walked to a mat, "let's go." The girls of A class sat down, eagerly wanting to see these two throw down. Sunni looked at them, "Remember what we talked about yesterday, be mindful in close combat." Her eyes moved to the blond across from her, "We'll do out of bounds. Because I know neither of us will tap out."
"Fine," he popped his neck and took a step forward. "No whining when you lose."
She laughed, "And no pouting when you lose."
They both moved fast. He sent a jab towards her side just as she swept at his legs. She knew she needed to get his legs first, if not things might become difficult. He moved back out of her way, assessing the situation. She was was better at offense, which meant she would have a few open spots in her defense. He just needed to find one.
"He's actually being serious about this," Kirishima sat beside Mina.
"Maybe he needs to be humbled again," she smiled and looked over her boyfriend, "Have you two had fun this week?"
He smiled and nodded, "We work well together." He watched them for a moment, "I think this is more of a respect thing. Bakugo doesn't go easy on anyone," he looked at her with a smile, "You know that."
They turned their attention back to the match when they heard a thud. Sunni's back hit the mat hard. Bakugo gave a smug smirk, "Get up. That was too easy."
Sunni laid there for a moment, catching her wind. Now she was annoyed. He took a cheap shot. She rolled up and pulled her pony tail tight, narrowing her eyes, playtime was over. She moved in close, landing a blow to his chest with her palm. He grabbed her arm, "Getting careless again?"
She huffed, "Nope, I'm right where I want to be." She used her momentum and spun around his form swiftly, as he twisted her arm. She rolled up his back, grabbing his neck with her knees before slamming him towards the edge of the mat.
"What..." Momo blinked.
"Just happened…" Asui blinked.
"That...was smooth," Mina clapped her hands.
Bakugo laid flat for a moment, processing what just happened. Sunni caught her breath before walking up to him, holding out her hand, "You almost dislocated my arm."
He glared for a moment before taking her hand, getting up, "I should have."
"Girl," came an unfamiliar voice. She turned her head to see a tall muscular red head standing in the doorway with Mr. Aizawa. He looked her over briefly, "You're with us tonight."
She could see the annoyance in her teacher's eyes. He wasn't a fan of this man at all. Sunni walked up to him, her blue orbs meeting his, "Girl isn't my name...it's Hallie."
The man narrowed his eyes and smirked, "You got spunk."
"No sir, just low tolerance," she smiled at her teacher moving back to the dorms.
Bakugo and Deku shared a look. Endeavor was always after the top students. He liked to work with talents that met his expectations. Both boys looked at their teacher. He gave them a knowing look, "You all need to go and get ready for your shifts."
Endeavor had decided to take the three young heroes out into the field tonight. With the full moon they might be needed.
Sunni was very guarded since they had arrived at the agency. She only spoke when spoken to, keeping her eyes away from the Pro Hero. She didn't like him. At all. There had been rumors in the states about him, and frankly she wasn't impressed.
She sat at her post at the top of a bank building watching the people below her go about their night. The rain was light and cold. Just enough to annoy you. She wore a long black jacket over her hero suit for added warmth. Bakugo sauntered his way over watching the street, "What's wrong?"
"With?"
"You," he looked at her.
She glanced back at Endeavor before looking at him, "I don't like him. He has bad energy." She went back to watching the streets, "He makes me uncomfortable."
"That's fair," the blond lowly said, "he's not exactly easy to work with." He thought for a moment, "I didn't slam you too hard did I?"
For the first time that night she smiled, "No, not at all. I was just caught off guard."
He shook his head and smirked, "I should hit harder next time then."
Before she could say her next words. An explosion a few blocks away caught their attention.
