"It's go time," she pulled up her mask just as Endeavor made his way to them. She looked at him, "I'll take the rooftops."
Before he could protest she leapt off of the building, making a rolling land to the next one. Deku jumped after her. "I'll take the streets," Bakugo sounded in their comms. Endeavor huffed and quietly followed.
"Deku," Sunni's voice sounded, "Let's split up until we get eyes."
"Got it."
She moved over the rooftops scanning for any signs. Deku did the same, using his quirk to reach the taller buildings. Bakugo ran his way through the streets until he heard screaming, "Check 1st."
Sunni moved to her left, making her way there. She leapt down onto the street, scanning the rubble. "Endeavor we need medical. Multiple civilians."
The Pro landed beside her as he finished making the call. His eyes scanned around, "What-"
A dark blast hit him in the chest, sending him back into the rubble. Sunni rolled out of the way, looking for their opponent. "Guys stay sharp..." her voice was low.
When the dust settled a tall, slender man stood. His skin was extremely pale, his face was angular, making his black eyes pop. He was dressed in a black suit and bowler hat. She slowly reached up and grabbed her bow staff. The villain smirked, "Oh my, what a pretty young lady."
She shivered at his voice before seeing movement coming from behind him. A shorter man with blond spikey hair and yellow eyes stood beside him holding a large bag, "We ain't got all day."
Endeavor made his way to stand beside Sunni. Deku and Bakugo joined them. The tall man spoke, "I'll take the big boy. You play with the kids," he eyes Sunni, "If you don't kill her..."
The other villain grinned, "Yeah I know."
"Be careful," Endeavor called forth his flames and charged at the tall man.
"Deku, we have to get the civilians out of here," she kept her eyes on their opponent, "you're the fastest."
"When you get them out, get back here," Bakugo let out a breath and rolled his shoulders, "Get moving."
"Right, be safe," he quickly took off.
Sunni shed her coat, tossing it to the side. The man whistled and chuckled, making Bakugo clench his jaws. She walked towards him dragging her bow staff as soon as he made a movement she used her quirk and shot forward slamming into him. Bakugo took this moment to fire a shot, knowing she would get out of the way. She landed back beside him almost silently.
Before the smoke cleared a gun fired, whizzing past them. Sunni reached up and touched her cheek. The bullet had grazed her. She pulled out her cards, "Now I'm annoyed..."
Bakugo took a deep breath. The gunfire kicked in his fight or flight, he needed to stay focused. If not, he could get hurt, or get Sunni hurt.
They blinked as they watched the gun in his hand absorb back into his skin. The villain laughed, "Damn baby you hit hard...I like it." He looked at Bakugo, "when I'm finished with you, me and your little girl are gonna have a good time."
"I don't think so," he launched forward. He wasn't going to let them touch her.
The villain cackled and pulled a sword out of his arm, "Testy."
So he creates weapons with his body, Sunni thought. "If we do enough damage, it'll exhaust his quirk. We need heavy hits."
"Got it," the blond skidded to a stop putting his palms outward, "Howitzer!"
The blast sent the villain backwards, burning his arms. Sunni launched off of Bakugo's back sending a wave of cards flying with her signature purple glow. They exploded on impact, slamming their target. The villains unconscious body rolled to a stop. Sunni walked over carefully to cuff him.
When she was in range, a sword shot out of his chest as his eyes snapped open. Bakugo pushed Sunni out of the way just in time before it pierced his side.
Sunni grabbed the villain and head butted him hard, knocking him unconscious for real this time. She cuffed him tightly before jogging over to Bakugo, "Lemme see."
He lifted his shirt as she examined him, "He got you good..." A shadow caught her eye and she quickly brought her staff up to shield a hit from making its blow onto Bakugo's back. The two stood with their back against one another, "This isn't good news is it?"
"No," Bakugo watched around them, "Deku, what's going on?"
"There were a lot of civilians in the building, I'm moving as fast as I can."
"Keep going, you're doing great," Sunni turned to look at Bakugo, "We got this."
"I doubt that," the tall man from before leaned causally on the wall, "Seems my friend wasn't enough for you two...I assure you I will be a better opponent."
"Sunni, be careful," Bakugo readied himself.
"You too," she threw cards into the air, using her quirk to suspend them.
"What lovely quirks you both have," shadows slowly poured out of his body, "it's a shame I'll have to end this..."
Sunni sent her cards flying just as Bakugo launched towards the man. Her explosions made impact followed by his. She failed to see the shadow creeping to her. It wrapped around her quickly, suspending her in the air. Bakugo skidded to a stop and growled, "You bastard!"
He pulled his arms forward readying another blast, a shadow came from behind him, making him roll away. As soon as he stood, something heavy made contact with his body, sending him flying into the already collapsing building.
Bright flames hit the man on the back, causing him to toss Sunni to the side. She hit the ground and winced, landing on her wrist. Endeavor was pretty scuffed up. One of his arms seemed to be broken. She fought her urge to make sure Bakugo was okay, there was a job to finish.
The man turned his attention towards Endeavor. Sunni jumped up and ran towards him, her staff in her hand. He was using himself as a distraction. He shielded himself waiting for the impact, but it never came. Instead he was face to face with the red headed girl. She had placed her staff in the ground behind her, using it as a shield. She tore her mask off and breathed deep.
"You won't last long," the villain grinned.
"Are you okay," Sunni looked over Endeavor. He nodded. She tapped her comm with her shoulder, "Deku, I need a lift."
A thunderous sound came bellowing through, hitting the villain. Sunni slowly stood leaving her staff in front of the Pro Hero as a shield, "please stay here until we can get you looked at."
Deku skidded to a stop beside her, "I'm sorry I'm late."
She smiled, "You're right on time."
What are they planning, Endeavor thought to himself.
"I'll fly and be the distraction, you smash the hell out of him okay?" Sunni looked at her friend and gave his shoulder a squeeze.
He nodded and took off away from them. Sun I let out a breath and gathered her cards into the hands. The villain slowly stood, holding his side, "You think another one of your little cards will do the trick?"
"Maybe..." she smirked as she heard Deku quickly approaching. Just like they had the first time, she leapt onto his back, absorbing his kinetic energy. Endeavor watched with wide eyes as she launched herself up. Her cards glowed once more in a dark purple before shooting downward with large explosions. Their opponent dodged keeping his focus on where her cards were coming from. He never saw Deku swinging in with a Detroit Smash. The villain flopped across the ground motionless.
Deku skidded to a stop and watched as Sunni came towards the ground once more. He readied himself to jump up and catch her.
"I got her!" Kirishima's voice bellowed as he sprung up, "you cuff 'em!"
He grabbed onto Sunni and hardened his body for impact, "Sorry we're late. We were on the other side of the city."
"Better late than never," they landed with a thud. She wasted no time grabbing her bow staff and running towards the broken building, "Bakugo's in here somewhere."
Kirishima took off after her quickly. Deku drug the unconscious enemy to Endeavor before taking off too. Aizawa walked up and looked the Pro Hero over, "Med is on the way," he started to walk towards the building to help search but turned to face the other hero, "You doubted my students once more...you're lucky they saved your life today. Don't ever make that mistake again...they aren't kids anymore."
Sunni searched her way deep into the darkened building. Lightning flashed as the rain picked up. She reached into the belt and pulled out a small flashlight, "Hey hothead, you better not be dead..."
She heard small movement to her right. She shined the light to see a barely conscious Bakugo. She rushed over to him, "Wakey wakey. I'm here to save you."
He half smiled, "That is so lame."
She chuckled and looked him over. He was rapidly losing blood from his stab wound. She took off his gauntlet and placed his hand on the wound, applying pressure. He hissed and grit his teeth. Sunni tapped her comm, "I'm on floor three towards the back. I need a stretcher and a bandage kit. Would is on the torso and rapidly losing blood."
Aizawa was the first to appear. He knelt down without hesitation and wrapped his long scarf around the boys bleeding waist, "Keep pressure."
Sunni nodded and did as instructed. She noticed Bakugo's eyes growing heavy, "It's not nap time. You've got to stay awake."
He forced his red orbs open to look at her, "Are you okay?"
She smiled, "Of course I am. Just some scrapes is all. We got 'em."
"Sunni why don't you go get checked out," Aizawa looked her over.
"No," her eyes moved to him, "I'm not going anywhere just yet. I have to make sure this idiot gets to where he needs to go."
"Don't start your shit," the blond half joked. She rolled her eyes. Aizawa picked up on what she was doing, trying to keep him awake by teasing him.
"If you fall asleep, you won't be able to have a rematch from earlier," she smirked down at him, "Or see my pretty formal dress."
"It's true," Aizawa smirked, "I'm sure that would be a shame."
"Ugh I'd probably have sit with Denki or-"
"Fuck you're both annoying," the injured boy hissed. The other two smiled at one another as a stretcher neared.
She leaned down and placed a kiss on his forehead, "Be good. I'll come check on you soon."
There had amazingly been no casualties. Deku had managed to get the civilians to safety. Both villains were in custody. Present Mic and a few other Pros came to the scene to make sure everything was being handled.
Sunni had a light sprain to her wrist that would heal in a day or two. They temporarily treated her scrapes with light bandages as she gave her report. She walked over picking up her jacket when a deep voice caught her off guard, "Hallie." She turned to see Endeavor. His arm was in a sling, bandages wrapped around various parts of his body. He held out his good hand. She took it as he spoke, "Thank you for what you did. You saved my life tonight..."
She smiled, "You're welcome. I'm sure you would do the same."
He nodded, "You're going to make one hell of a hero."
Aizawa placed a hand on her shoulder, "She is."
A medic jogged over, "Alright I need all heroes who were in tonight's incident to come with me to the hospital for full evaluation."
Present Mic jogged over to Sunni, looking her over with worried eyes, "Are you okay?"
She nodded with a tired smile, "Yes, just some minor stuff. Nothing to lose sleep over." She winked, "Tell Tobias I'm okay."
He nodded as they shut the ambulance door. He turned to the others, "Alright let's get this cleaned up."
