She had slept so well, one of those that when she awoke she didn't know what day it was. Strong arms were still around her, keeping her close to the warmth. The sun tried to beam through the closed blinds. She had no idea what time it was. Her phone was still in her room. Her hand felt around searched for Bakugo's.
She found it and clicked it, the time reading five in the afternoon. They had slept for so long, yet she felt like she could fall back asleep. Red eyes slowly opened, "What time is it?"
"Five in the afternoon," she yawned and sat up, popping her spine. She looked back to see him quietly watching her. She smiled, "Are you feeling okay,"
He nodded, "Yeah. My head doesn't feel like it's going to explode. Just a dull ache now."
She pulled the brace off of her wrist, looking it over. It was slightly swollen, but not as painful. His hand reached up and took it, looking it over. He put the brace back on it, "You need to go eat something and take an inflammatory."
"Yeah," she ran a hand through her mane on a sad attempt to tame it, "you need anything?"
"Will you come back?" He looked at the wall.
"If you want me to," she tilted her head, watching him. He nodded quietly. She gently smiled, "All you ever have to do is ask."
Sunni quietly walked out to see Iida in the common room. He glanced up at her, "I'm glad to see you're awake."
She blinked. Was he not going to scold her for being in the boys wing? She cleared her throat, "Thank you. I was exhausted."
"And how is Bakugo," his eyes went back to his book.
She smiled softly, "He's resting for now...Thank you Iida."
He hummed, "A good class rep cares for his fellow students during hard times." He looked up at her, "And sometimes they need one another."
She nodded and moved to the kitchen to see Mina had made her a plate from today. She needed to send her a thank you later. Iida sat with her as she ate. He told her more about himself and his goals as a hero. She really admired him. He might come across as a tight ass, but his heart was in the right place.
She walked back into Bakugo's room after going to grab her phone. Her brother had called ten times. She sighed hitting the call button, he must have been so worried.
"Hallie, are you okay," his worried voice instantly picked up.
Sunni sat on his bed, "Yes I'm fine, I promise."
Bakugo kept his eyes closed but listened quietly. Tobias let out a breath of relief, "I'm glad. I saw where you got them."
Sunni chuckled, "Yeah we fucked them up."
"That'a girl," he was quiet for a moment, "I wish I was there."
"I know, but, duty calls ya know," there was a hint of sadness in her voice, "It's nice to hear your voice."
"I'll call you tomorrow and check in okay? Get some rest. I love you Sunshine."
"I love you too."
She sighed and sat her phone down. She felt a little lonely in that moment. She wasn't used to being away from her brother for this long. Her mind went back to Bakugo's mother barging in. She wishes she knew what that felt like. A hand crept up her back, slowly settling into her curls, pulling her from her darkened thoughts. She closed her eyes with a small smile, "Did I wake you?"
"No, I never went back to sleep," his voice was soft and tired. "I took that shitty ass medicine."
She gently turned and placed a cool hand on his head. He sighed in relief at the feeling. She stood, "Let me go get you something."
She left and came back with a cool compress, wrapping it in a small towel. She placed it on his head gently, "We won't leave it on for long. Just enough to dull things back down." He closed his eyes, relaxing in the relief. She smiled watching him, "When you're not glaring at me, you're kind of handsome."
A small blush landed on his cheeks, "Shut up."
She laughed softly, texting Mina thank you for the food. A few moments later she removed the compress, "How's that?"
"Better. Thank you." He slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes. "I'm guessing they left food."
She nodded, "Yeah. There's plenty"
He yawned, "Go back to sleep. I'm need to move around some."
Sunni nodded, and laid her still tired body back into his sheets. His bed was far more comfortable than hers, his blankets were warmer and softer. He watched her for a moment before heading out into the common room.
It was quiet. Most of them were out on patrol. The others were probably resting. He signed as his phone buzzed. It was stupid hair texting and checking in. He and half and half were with Present Mic tonight. His mother had also texted to check in, he decided to call her.
"How are you feeling," her voice sounded in his ear.
"My head still hurts, but I'm fine," he sat back on the couch.
"How is your girlfriend," he could tell she was smirking through the phone.
"She's fine- she's not my fucking girlfriend..." he snapped.
She chuckled on the other end, "Whatever you say son. Are you coming home one break?"
"Probably, why?"
"Because if she doesn't have anywhere to go, you should invite her here. I couldn't help but notice she didn't have anyone there last night..." She trailed off.
"Maybe, I'll ask. But you can't harass her like you did at the hospital," he let out a breath, "that was embarrassing."
"Have you seen her? She seems like such a lovely girl."
"Yeah, we'll, she's a pain in the ass.."
After a short time, he hung up with her and ate the food put away for them. Once he made his way back to the room he sighed seeing Sunni asleep, taking up the middle of the bed. He moved and leaned down in her ear, "Why are you taking up my whole bed?"
She smiled, not bothering to open her eyes, "Shhhhhh I'm sleeping."
"Move it," he lightly poked her side.
She huffed and rolled onto her back, "I was warm."
Bakugo scoffed and smirked, "Are you complaining?"
She glared at him with her sleepy blue eyes and sat up, "Yeah. I am."
"Pft, I suggest you stop."
"Or what," she crossed her arms.
"I'll kick your ass out, try me."
She eyed him and smiled, "Empty threats."
"You think so?" He glared.
She nodded, "Yes."
He tilted his head, "You sound very sure of yourself. Coming from the girl who literally snuck in here when I was-"
She sat up with a sleepy glare, almost in his face, "Bakugo, shut up."
Her lips lightly made contact, catching him off guard. She went to lay back down when strong arms grabbed her, pulling her back to him in a deep kiss. He pulled her against him and wrapped his arms around her. Her arms snaked around his neck as their lips parted for a moment. He kissed her again, and pulled her onto his lap gently. He needed her as close as possible. She didn't hesitate to settle herself against his warm body. His hands felt their way carefully along the bare skin on her legs, making a shiver run up her spine.
He moved his hungry lips to her neck, her hands wound into his hair. Her skin tasted sweet, the addictive scent of lavender filled his senses. When their lips met again, it was all hunger. Sunni's only thought was more. She wanted more of him. She needed more of him. Her hands drug their way along his skin under his shirt. Before she could say anything, he pulled it from his person before connecting to her lips once more. Her hands explored his torso softly, memorizing every scar. Her touch felt like fire on his skin, fueling his desperate need to drown himself in her. He pulled her shirt over her head and brought his lips to her collarbone. A soft sigh escaped her lips. Her back arched into his touch. He knew he held a lot of power in this moment. He made his way back to her lips with a deep, slow kiss.
"That's enough," his voice was low as he came back to his senses. His red hungry eyes look at her hazy blue orbs, "I can't risk these stitches."
"You're right," her voice was barely above a whisper, "I don't want to share you with the hospital again."
He placed one more kiss on her lips and handed her his shirt, "Just wear this. Yours is way over there."
She reluctantly removed herself from him and pulled on his shirt. "Awfully rude of you to throw my clothing."
He smirked and laid back onto his bed, "I didn't hear you complaining."
She puffed her pink cheeks, "Hush you." She laid her head on his bare chest. "I'm sorry-"
"Don't," he played with a strand of her hair absentmindedly, "that was both of us."
She snuggled into his neck and breathed in his scent. Her thoughts were quiet as sleep took her away. Bakugo laid staring at the ceiling for a while. His mind processing. He'd never been like this before. When she kissed him like that, it unlocked a very different him. It wasn't her fault, he had merely never allowed himself anything like this before. Why would he allow it now? That was the annoying question.
After a while, his eyes grew heavy, rest was calling once more.
