A/N: The tour has begun, and Jade's stubbornness didn't kick things off on the right foot. But she's scared and we don't do the right thing when we're scared.

How are our girls going to do an ocean apart?

Chapter's a little short but the next update will be around in a few days so not to worry.

SONG:

"One of Us" was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

The flight to Copenhagen took the whole day. Tori had never been on a plane for that long. The flight attendant reassured the yankees on board that the flights from here on in would be far shorter. Maybe an hour or so max. That's the neat thing about Europe is so many countries in close proximity to one another.

That can create the potential for good neighbors. And also come conflicts over the years.

But one thing that Tori noticed straight away from the other passengers and crewmembers were that Europeans often are polyglots: well-versed in multiple languages. It wasn't weird to find a fellow who spoke English, French, German, and Danish.

Since this was the biggest day for the group in terms of travel, they had the rest of the time after landing to relax. The first show wasn't going to kick off until tomorrow night.

Tori was grateful for that. She normally doesn't experience jetlag but again, this was a long flight for her. Her and the band can get settled in their accommodations and after a full night's rest, they can head to the venue and do their first rehearsals and equipment checks.

The plane came in for a smooth landing at Copenhagen Airport.

Over the speaker system, a pre-recorded announcement came through:

"Welcome to Denmark. Bienvenue au Danemark. Willkommen in Dänemark. Benvenuti in Danimarca."

The flight crew handled the passengers as the plane pulled into the jetway.

Tori was behind the band as she was finally able to get her carry-on and exited the fuselage.

Right when they got off was a huge sign that said: Velkommen! Beside it was the flag of Denmark, the white Nordic cross against a red background. Made Old Glory look busy by comparison.

It was a decent-sized terminal but Tori didn't get lost. This many members of her party and all of this luggage in tow, she easily kept with the group.

Then something unexpected happened. Tori noticed some people kind of speed walking toward them. It made her nervous at first and their excited faces didn't put her at ease.

"Hey, guys!"

Jeremy and Mikaela, who were holding hands, turned around. Mike and Bob took notice and stopped as well.

"You okay, Tori?" asked Mike.

"There's people following us," Tori whispered.

The foursome looked at each other and laughed.

"Relax, Tor-Tor" Bob quipped. "They're fans. See?"

Tori turned toward the eager strangers and sure enough, they were holding glossies of the band and CD's of their recent album.

"Oh!"

"Raven Claw! Raven Claw! Raven Claw!" they chanted, holding their merch.

"Mange tak," nodded Mike as he took a poster and signed it. He then passed it to the other members.

Tori just stood there in amazement, seeing how happy these fans were to be within inches of the musicians.

"Didn't know you spoke Danish," Tori said to Mike.

"What?" he grinned. "Oh yeah, I tried to teach myself at least a couple of lines for the country we're in. Mostly thank you, please, food, bathroom."

Once the stuff made their rounds through the band, the fans thanked them again and dispersed.

Mikaela noticed Tori, looking a little awkward.

"Guess they think I'm a roadie," the Latina shrugged.

"I'm sorry," Mikaela said. "Wait until the big show." She put her hand on her shoulder. "By tomorrow, they will know your name."

Tori smiled meekly.

"Thanks."

The series of taxicabs that were taking them to the hotel were lined up right outside the international terminal.

Tori shared one with Bob and Ian. Mike, Jeremy and Mikaela shared another one.

The tan girl from America learned that the vehicles over here were not humongous like back home. They were very modest and fuel efficient.

About fifteen minutes later, they made it to the Savoy Hotel, which had an old-fashioned sign on the side. It was very unassuming on the outside but that changed when they checked in and saw their accommodations.

"Wow!" Tori breathed.

It was so bright an inviting. The windows let in so much light, which only accentuated the white walls and very minimalist decor. Tori noticed the vaulted ceiling immediately. She figured they would stay at a really nice motel at best. But this place was so nice. It felt more like an air bnb than a hotel in the middle of the city.

Tori paused at the sight of the large bed with clean white sheets.

The sound of a door opening made her look behind her. Standing in the doorway was Jeremy and Mikaela.

"Oh, sorry!" he chuckled.

The couple was still holding hands, practically inseparable since they landed.

"Adjourning rooms," Mikaela said. "Cool. Thank God you're our neighbor and not Bob."

"Nice guy but he can be a little loud at night," Jeremy added.

He noticed the bed as well.

"Ah, yeah, hope this was okay. We thought you were bringing your plus one, so..."

Mikaela slapped his side.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Yeah," Tori nodded. "I'm just a little exhausted from the flight. Probably just need to take a nap. Maybe I'll unpack later."

"Ok," said Jeremy. "If you want to, we're going for dinner later."

"Just let us know if you want to come along," said Mikaela.

"Thanks, guys."

They quietly went back into their room and shut the door.

Tori looked back at the empty bed and walked over to it. She collapsed onto it and stared at the ceiling. Tears manifested as she blinked her eyes.

"Damn it, Jade" she whispered. "Why didn't you come?"

She rolled over and grabbed one of the pillows to cry in.

(Was it you? Was it me? I don't even know any more! I just wished you were here right now.)

Jade hadn't looked at her phone since she checked the flight number on the travel app and saw that Tori's plane had successfully landed.

"Stupid piece of shit," she said to herself. "How could you let her go?"

"No, it was the right thing to do. Would have been more painful. For both of you!"

"How do you know she's okay? What if something..."

"NO! She has her new friends. They will take care of her."

The goth went on like this for hours. She was at war with herself.

She hated the idea that she basically walked away from their relationship, but she kept reasoning that it was like ripping off a bandage.

Jade laid down on the bed that she once shared every night with Tori, the greatest love she had ever known. And probably would ever know.

The brunette curled up on what was Tori's side and cried. It still had her scent; which only made her sob more.

A/N: The Savoy is a real hotel in Copenhagen and from what I gather from the pictures on their site, it looks like a cozy place to rest your head.
