"Anything yet?" Katsuki's voice sounded in her ear.
"Not yet," Sunni carefully moved through the rubble, "I hit a small hiccup."
She began to smell gas leaking from small caved in chamber. Her hands moved her mask up to her face as she moved towards the small opening. She shined her light in and gasp, "Mina!"
The pink hero laid flat on her back, webbing holding down her limbs. Sunni thought on using her cards to blast through. No, the gas will go off...damn. She pulled out her staff and concentrated her quirk before swinging it at the small opening. As soon as it opened enough, she jumped through. Her eyes immediately settled of the leaking hoses. The oxygen levels in here are going south, fast.
She stood and jogged over to her friend, "Hey Pinky, I'm here to save the day."
Her eyes hazily opened, "Sunni..."
She had a gash on her head, blood slowly making its way to the rubbled ground beneath them. Sunni tore the webbing off of her friend and removed her mask, "Don't move, okay? Here, put this on." She placed the mask on her face to give her some oxygen. Her fingers tapped the comms, "I got her. Small problem though, we're stuck."
Bakugo skidded to a stop, dropped a cuffed villain to the ground, "What do you mean stuck?"
"It's caved in, there's some leaking gas lines as well, I can't chance blasting us out." She paused for a moment, "I'm kinda at a loss here."
"Which direction," Aizawa stood suspending a few villains in his scarf.
"I jumped in the crater and went a couple of hundred feet east. It's like a caved in basement."
Kirishima bolted to a stop, his heart racing, "Is she okay?"
Sunni looked over her friend, "She'll be okay. We just need to get her to medic. I gave her my oxygen mask...it's getting a little thick in here." She took small, even breaths.
Kirishima looked at his best friend. Bakugo nodded and his red eyes cut to Present Mic. The blond pro held his thumbs up, "We got the rest of this, go get your girls."
Without a moments hesitation they took off to the massive crater. Bakugo stopped and scanned the area, "She came from this way..." he turned and started walking, "So there."
Kirishima looked at a completely caved in building, "Well you can't blast us in..." he turned back to the massive hole, "So down we go."
"I'm so cold," Mina shivered, her body fighting to stay conscious.
Sunni pulled off her hoodie and carefully slipped it on her friend, "Here. Is that better?" Mina slowly nodded and looked at her darkened surroundings. The red headed girl tore the bottom of her shirt, "I told them where we are. They'll be here." She carefully wrapped Mina's head.
"That woman...was a bitch."
Sunni laughed and nodded, "She was. You put up a good fight though. She was tired when I got to her."
She could feel her body starting to get heavy, and her eyes getting hazy. The gas lines, she thought. She rubbed her eyes and looked around. Mina watched her quietly, "Take it back." She reached for the mask.
"No it's okay," she took her hand and held it in hers, "You've been exposed a lot longer than I have. I'll be fine. Our heroes should be here soon."
The boys stayed silent the whole way. Listening for any signs of the girls. Bakugo could tell his friend was trying to keep his head together, "Sunni's with her."
He sighed, "I know. But still I can't help it...she means a lot to me, man."
The blond stopped when he saw the skid marks of a staff, "I know she does." He nodded to a cave in, "Thoughts?"
The red heads body hardened as he walked up to it, "Fuck it." He brought his fist back and struck hard, clearing the debris. It was dark inside besides for a singular flashlight. Kirishima took off. Mina's heavy eyes opened just as he knelt down, "Hey you." He tapped his comm, "We got 'em." He carefully looked her over before slowly scooping her into his arms.
"Sunni," Bakugo tapped her face, "hey you can't fall asleep yet."
Her lips had a slight blue tinge to them from the lack of air as her eyes fluttered open, "Is Mina-"
He looked her over, "She's okay. Come on." He scooped her up. He waited for Kirishima before they began their journey out. She wrapped her tired arms around his neck, his grip gently tightened. She was with him, she was safe now. As soon as they we're back to the crater, medical was waiting for them with oxygen, whisking them to the hospital.
Her head was killing her. Every single sound felt like a stab in her brain. Her bloodstream had high levels of Carbon Monoxide, so she had to stay until her oxygen levels came back up. Katsuki called Tobias to inform him. He was in London currently, but, he would call every other hour to check in. She was so tired but in too much pain to sleep.
Mina was cleaned up and on oxygen as well. If Sunni hadn't had used her mask, she would be dead. Kirishima owed her for that. She was willing to sacrifice herself for the pink haired girl without a second thought.
Both boys currently sat in the cafeteria, still in their hero gear, drinking coffee to stay awake. The Pros had tried to get them to leave, but it was no use.
"This is what we signed up for," Bakugo began, "Getting involved with them..."
"It's not gonna stop me though," the red head looked at his friend, "It's just gonna make me fight harder...what do you think?"
Before he could answer, Deku walked in carrying two duffel bags, "Hey, I brought these for you."
"Thanks man," Kirishima smiled tiredly.
"How are they?"
"Alive," the blond mumbled, "They have to stay here until the carbon monoxide is out of their system."
"I see. If you guys need a break-"
"No." They both said in unison and looked at him.
He nervously chuckled, "It's just an offer." He sighed, "I'll update the class and take notes for you guys."
Sunni crept down the hallway quietly. She wanted to check on her friend and stretch her legs. The nurses were nice and all, but she needed to lay eyes on her.
She quietly opened the door and closed it back behind her. Mina's eyes opened and she smiled tiredly, "You know I almost did the same..."
"I beat you to it," she sat on her bed and looked her over, "Are you okay?"
"Are you?"
The red head shrugged, "Eh, my brain feels like hot liquid and my lungs feel like glass, but I'll make it."
The pink haired girl scooted over and patted her pillow, "Same. Wanna lay in here a bit?"
"A chance to be in bed with you," Sunni teased and crawled under her covers, "Kiri might get jealous."
Mina grinned, "Oh well."
The two settled down together and talked about random things. Anything to distract them from last nights events. Mina owed Sunni her life. She knew that. Sunni had already meant the world to her, but now, it was even more true.
The pink girl yawned lazily, "When we graduate, let's go get a tattoo."
Sunni's heavy lids blinked as she smiled, "I like that idea."
Bakugo walked into her room and sighed seeing the empty bed. Kirishima poked his head in, "I know where she is."
He led him down the hall to Mina's darkened room and opened the door. The two girls were curled up asleep soundly. Kirishima smiled, "They almost look harmless."
The blonde smirked, "Still giant pains in the ass though."
Mina cracked open an eye and glared, "Say it again."
"Good morning Princess," Kirishima teased.
She smiled and cuddled Sunni's sleeping form, "I got lonely so Sunni joined me."
"She's gotta go back to her room before the doctor comes to check levels," Bakugo crossed his arms.
"What you jealous?" She winked. Kirishima grinned and sat on the bed. He wasn't getting in this one.
The blond scoffed, "Not at all." He walked up and gently shook Sunni, "Hey brat."
Sunni opened her eyes, "What?"
"You can't be sneaking out," his red orbs looked down at her, "let's go."
"No."
"Yes." He leaned down, "I'll drag your ass out of here."
"I'm tired," she glared sleepily at him. He knew how much of a pain she was when she was this tired.
He let out a breath, "I know, come on. They're going to check your oxygen levels soon."
She huffed and sat up, "They better be right so I can go." She ruffled Mina's hair, "if you get lonely, come find me."
Mina nodded in amusement as they both exited her room. She chuckled, "Look at him go."
