Who is your OC today?

Orchid the chamelochin, age 8

What animal are they?

She looks like a normal chinchilla, but is in fact a young alien from another dimension.

What do they look like? Special markings, colorations, etc.

Orchid is mostly gray, with a white patch on/around her nose, a white bottlebrush tail and a sort of V-shaped patch of white on her back, the point facing her tail.

What inspired you to create them?

I decided to join an RP group and she just kind of came together on her own, a lot of my characters tend to do that.

What are they like?

She's a little smartmouth and doesn't let her tiny size stop her. It really can't, since she has the ability to create wormholes as a way of traveling. She will bite just about anyone who annoys her enough, and will change colors depending on how she's feeling (at least when I remember that she has that ability)

What's their family life like?

Her birth parents were famous treasure hunters and taught her everything she knows, and where she got her uncanny ability for locating jewels and things. Her home planet was actually destroyed and her species collected as pets, she was only able to get away because of a lapse in security on the intruders' ship. She doesn't even know if the rest of her kind are still alive, and she tries hard not to think about it.

Her family on Earth is a mix of species, but they all treat her like their own. She appeared out of nowhere in front of her adoptive mother, exhausted and filthy from how long she'd been running through dimensions. Suffice it to say they were all shocked to learn just how special their new little girl was.

Do they have a love interest?

No, because love is gross, her words

So this is your second and final character that we'll be interviewing. But you've actually created a lot of characters for your stories. What's your favorite part of creating new characters?

I don't really have a favorite part, it's just easier to make OCs than get lambasted because I made a canon one OoC

For the purpose of the OC interview the setting is the creator's OC is about to be interviewed by my co-owned OC Vicky Chola. A north american grey fox vixen in her mid 20s. They're both in a studio booth with headphones on and microphones to speak into. The interview we did earlier about the creator and their OC is considered a pre conversation between these two before going on the air. Vicky will ask questions based on the answers provided by the creator. Enjoy!

"Welcome everyone to another edition of the Characters of Zootopia show! I'm your host Vicky Chola and joining me today is Orchid. Thank you for joining me, Orchid."

"I'm the other Orchid!"

"The other Orchid?" She asked tilting her head

the little chinchilla turns pink, then purple

"Oh my, how are you doing that?"

giggles "I'm a chamelochin!"

"A chamelochin? Like the lizard?"

shakes head "Uh-uh. I'm from another dimension!" her white fur now turns a little blue and her ears droop a bit

"Is that similar to an alternate reality?"

her nose twitches and she looks confused

"Um, what I mean is, is there another version of me where you're from?"

quietly squeaks and then shakes her head "Nuh-uh. My planet was the only place with mammal-things, and we all looked like me."

"Ah, I see now. Can you tell us what it's like where you're from?"

the blue color from before looks darker "My mama and daddy were gem hunters, they collected them and made jewelry with them. I helped, but..."

"But what?"

"Then the bad things came."

"Bad things?"

she whimpers, hunkering down on all fours

"Did you lose your family?"

nods a little

"I'm so sorry. So how did you get here of all places?"

nose twitches "I was running."

"I understand you have a special ability that allows you to get away quickly. Can you tell us about that?"

"I make wormholes and jump through them"

"How do you make wormholes?"

squeaks in confusion "I don't know, I just can."

"So it's not a device you have but a natural ability?"

squeaks in the affirmative

"So how do you control it? Do you just think of where you want to go and a portal appears or is it more complicated?"

squeaks again "Yeah, that's pretty much how it works."

"So what do you do now? Where do you live and what do you think of this place compared to your home?"

squeaks "I'm ten, I do ten-year-old stuff." There's a pause. "This place is a lot safer than my old home, but I miss my other mama and papa."

"You have a new mama and papa?"

"My other parents couldn't come with me."

"I'm sorry to hear that. How about you tell me about your new parents?"

"They make sure I'm happy, but I'm a lot smaller than they are, it's hard."

"Does your size difference ever give you an advantage in things?"

"I can help Mama and Papa find things where they can't reach, and I can use doll stuff."

"Use doll stuff? How do you mean?"

"Mama has to buy me a lot of doll stuff because she doesn't fit in stores for animals my size. I have a whole house that's mine in the living room."

"Does it have running water and power?"

"Papa connected it to the water and power of the big house"

"Do you feel pretty independent in your own little home?"

"Uh-huh! I can do whatever I want in there! Giggle"

"I bet you're pretty sneaky sometimes."

"I can go through the whole house without anyone noticing. I'm a ninja!"

"That's pretty incredible. Do you ever find things that went missing?"

"Sometimes, if it's somewhere Mama and Daddy let me go."

"What about exploring new places you haven't seen in the house?"

"I do that when I can't sleep. Mama and Daddy don't even know when I'm up after bedtime." giggles

"So naughty. Have you ever found something everyone thought was lost?"

"I found an old orange once. It had fuzzy blue stuff growing on it."

"That doesn't sound appetizing. So what would you like to do when you grow up?"

"I wanna make jewelry like my first mama. But I also wanna sing like my new mama."

"What kind of music do you like to sing?"

sings a very bad rendition of Roxanne

"That's very cute! So you like older rock and roll. What's your favorite song?"

starts a slightly better take of Butterfly from Smile dk

"That was lovely. We certainly enjoyed you coming to our show today."

squeaking giggle
