The next morning Lincoln got up and saw that the Moon Goats were already up and all but Luna were giggling at the sight of Lincoln getting up from his blanket with Bun-Bun. "Aw Lincoln sleeping with his little rabbit..." teased Mazzy as the band giggled and Lincoln looked embarrassed.
"Perhaps we should get a picture and send to his little girlfriend?" suggested Sulley and Lincoln instantly looked mortified at the little thought of that.
"Don't worry Lincoln; we are just jesting. We wouldn't embarrass our favourite manager like that!" Sam assured him as she pat him on the back and he sighed shaking his head but couldn't help but be amused by this moment. They then cleaned up after the sleepover and Lincoln went to his room with his stuff to get dressed and the Moon Goats went to Luna's room to do the same with Luan leaving the room to give them some privacy.
"Last night; I had a sleepover with the cool friends of one of my sisters who genuinely like me! Now it's Saturday and I can't see anything going wrong anytime soon..." Lincoln said only to hear banging on the front door outside.
He then heard the door being answered with Rita asking "Good morning Clyde; is this something urgent..." Lincoln then heard the sounds of someone running past her and up the stairs with a frantic Clyde barging into his room.
"Lincoln; what happened last night? I woke up in the morning and I found this sent to me by an unknown number; I called Liam, Zack and Rusty and they all received this picture and I didn't want to ask Stella but I can't imagine that any attempt to hide this from her will last." Clyde said and Lincoln was going to ask what he was talking about but Clyde showed him his phone.
Lincoln's eyes widened and his mouth wide opened as it saw a photo of Lincoln and Sam taken somehow from last night; from when they were making joking kissing faces but it was edited to make it look like they were kissing.
"WHAT? THIS IS CLEARLY FAKED! Clyde; I don't know how someone could have taken this but we never did this; we were just having fun with faces..." Lincoln quickly shouted and then said his face filled with shock and horror; if this got around at school who knows what he would have to deal with and how will his sisters react...
"Lincoln; what has got you yelling like that? Did one of your nerd shows get cancelled or something..." Lynn Jr said going to the open door and Lincoln was trying to come up with any sort of excuse when Lynn noticed that Clyde still had his phone out in his hand. "Let me see, I know you two are just making a big deal out of nothing..." Lynn said having a look and her face froze and turned into a glare as she then ran out of the room.
"Don't worry Clyde; I am sure that Lynn is going to act all reasonable and... I can't even finish!" Lincoln said as they ran and saw that Lynn had grabbed her baseball bat and was going to Luna's room and they were now holding her back.
"Lincoln let go; let me handle this! She is going to play for playing around with you and Luna like this..." Lynn shouted as the other sisters, Moon Goats and parents got into the area from either the rooms or from downstairs.
"Just what is going on here? Lynn; what are you doing with that bat?" Rita demanded as the sisters tried to calm Lynn down or pull her back.
"What I am about to do is going to give Sam here exactly what she deserves! Luna; your girlfriend last night was putting the moves on Lincoln!" Lynn snapped with everyone's eyes widening at this accusation.
"WHAT? How dare you... I would never and I'm offended by the idea that you think that I would!" Sam snapped back with a strong glare at the younger Lynn.
"Lynn; that's a strong accusation to make..." Lynn Sr said and Lynn looked to her namesake and then to Clyde.
"Why don't Clyde show you the evidence so that you can see for yourselves?" Lynn then said looking to Clyde who reluctantly put up the phone to show the picture and the shock continued.
"Wha... Sam... Lincoln..." Luna muttered as the Moon Goats were the most shocked and Luna looked like she was about to run away in tears of confusion but Sam stunned managed to catch Luna's arm to stop her.
"Luna; believe me... We never did anything of the sort... Well kind off... Lincoln did make that face but we were just joking around and never even attempted to do this... I would never think to jeopardise my relationship with you by doing this... Lincoln is just like a younger brother to me..." Sam told her with pleading in her eyes and Lincoln sent a similar look to her.
"I wanna believe you both but seeing this... Can I just have some time to myself please..." Luna asked as she slowly walked to her room as they were unsure on what to do.
"So what you are saying that Clyde faked a photo that he took of you two kissing?" Lynn accused but Clyde butted in.
"I didn't take it Lynn; someone from an unknown number sent to me along and the others in our friend group that I asked got sent it out as well! I don't know how many people have received it who could go to our school!" Clyde explained and Lynn humphed.
"These are convenient excuses but it's not like we have any way to verify the claims that this picture was faked!" Lynn fumed but then Lisa coughed to get their attention.
"Actuall Lynn; if Clyde would be so kind to send the picture to me then I could have a look and study it. Deciphering if this photo was doctored would be incredibly easy for someone with 50 less IQ points than what I possess." Lisa spoke up and this sounded like a simple solution to this problem.
"But what Stella? Will this hurt her relationship with Linky when she sees the picture and thinks that he is cheating on her with an older girl?" Linky brought up and Lincoln's eyes widened as his fear for Stella's reaction of the picture.
"I need some time to myself..." Lincoln said running down the stairs and to the outside. He got away from the houses and stood by a lamp post; he ended up noticing a familiar car passing by and he had a glimpse of Stella's mother in the driver's seat with Stella beside her. Fearing that he was spotted he went into the trees.
He hid behind a tree and decided to check his phone and there was the photo sent to him as well; whoever this jerk was probably sent it to him in order to taunt him. He also had some missed calls and texts from Stella asking and pleading with him to answer back. So yes she was sent the photo as well.
He sat down at the tree hearing the voices of Stella and Mrs Zhau calling his name; he then felt two rabbits with the boy white furred and the other orange furred. "Wait... Are you... From last year?" Lincoln whispered to them remembering the white rabbit he had seen who ended up being pushed into meeting his crush by his sisters only for it to go well; what encouraged him to listen to what his sisters had to say and it all ended up well.
"Looks like things are still going strong for you two; do you think that I should go and see Stella?" Lincoln asked and as if the rabbits understood him nodded at once. Lincoln sighed as he got up and let himself be found by Stella and her mother.
"Lincoln; I got sent this photo that looks like... You and Luna's girlfriend..." Stella said running up to him.
"Yeah; I know... Clyde was sent it and the others... I found your messages and I promise that this photo was fake; I don't know who could have taken this photo but they must have photoshopped it..." Lincoln explained at once and Stella had some relief on her face.
"I was angry at you the second I saw the picture but I realised I was jumping to conclusions with you about this picture and thought that she must have messed about with Luna and then to you. Mum found me yelling and after a minute suggested that she would drive to me to your house to get your side of the story after I couldn't get an answer from your phone. I kept texting on the car and I am sorry to say that I was thinking of making an empty threat to break up if you didn't answer..." Stella muttered with her head down before she got her face up to meet his. "I believe you; when mum found me reacting to the picture; I ended up showing her and she pointed out to me that it doesn't look like a natural kiss." Stella said.
"Yes Lincoln; the picture looked fishy and I wanted to help her get to the bottom of this; I didn't think this sounded like something you would do and I wanted to help get this sorted out. A bit of a hectic situation and I was willing to let what Stella had shouted about the older girl slide without grounding; a certain B word that she had called." Mrs Zhau told him and Lincoln couldn't help but chuckle at Stella being embarrassed by what her mother said. "Why don't you join us in the car; your family must be worried about you.." Mrs Zhau said leading Lincoln to the car as the two rabbits watched and then nuzzled their noses.
The Loud sisters and parents were relieved to have Lincoln back at the house as they were looking over the neighbourhood and he was lightly chided for running off like this; a much bigger relief to see that Lincoln's relationship wasn't in trouble with Stella there believing him.
But then the Sharp parents turned up with Simon in their car; turns out Simon had a friend who was a year above him who had gone to Middle School and was sent the photo (so clearly more than just their friend group was sent it) with it being ended up shown to their parents after he caught the attention of their parents with a frantic phone call to Sam asking about it. They wanted not to jump to conclusions and get the full story as well.
"I promise that it didn't go beyond just making kissing faces; Lincoln was just messing about imagining that his folks didn't want to catch me and Luna doing and I was just joking along with him! I am more than happy with Luna and I certainly don't want to jeopardise it with her younger brother who I like as another brother and has his own girlfriend!" Sam said to everyone as they were all gathered in the dinner room to see about getting this all sorted out.
"The best one ever; no offense intended Sam." Lincoln said as Sam told him none taken and Stella smiled at that.
Lisa then got their attention as she had set up a slideshow with her findings; "I have quadrupled checked and I can state conclusively and with 100% absolute certainty that the photo was indeed doctored!" Lisa showing her findings with sighs of relief.
"But who took the picture and how is this going to affect my daughter's reputation?" Mr Sharp asked with Sam groaning imagining the horror show that would be their next day at school as her girlfriend and bandmates comforted her.
"I would be more than happy to send my findings to both the middle and high schools' faculties if a big deal is made out of this photo." Lisa had said and they knew how people could be and how actual evidence didn't deter certain idiots who made up their minds. Plus what this picture doctored or not could do to their reputations.
"I am sure that we can find out who the culprit is together and brave the storm as the Action News Team!" Clyde said getting up with a confident smile and Lincoln and Stella did so as well as they made their Action News Team pose but with only half of the team there, it looked silly with Stella and Lincoln posing together and Clyde looking like he was kneeling in front of Stella.
"What are we looking at exactly?" Mr Sharp asked in confusion as the 3 kids looked embarrassed.
"Lincoln and his friends set up their own school news team and also function as detectives." Lynn explained and gave a sigh. "Okay, all well in good that we know the picture was faked but I am still in the mood for bash someone in with my bat so when we find the jerk can I do it to them?" Lynn asked and Sam looked her way.
"You know earlier when you tried to beat me up with that bat; I have yet to get an apology from that!" Sam brought up and Lynn had a sheepish smile as she was getting glares from her parents as well as Sam's family members.
If you want to ask what my fave episode of the show is; White Hate is easily the answer. Had a lot of fun watching it when I first saw it on the TV and it's cool concept; using the original premise of the show with the characters being a family of rabbits and I wouldn't have minded if that concept stayed.
