"So can I at least know her name?" Kate questions bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet readying for her next attack "and don't even think about denying it considering that sappy puppy dog grin you've been wearing since you got here, Sawyer." She goes on aiming a hard jab at Maggie's unprotected side.

The two former lovers having engaged in some friendly sparing to liven up a dull morning before they really started their day. or at least until they became hungry enough to consider going out for breakfast.

"You wish, Kane." Maggie scoffed just managing to doge the calculated attack sending an answering kick to Kate's shin that the laughing vigilante expertly dodged with a scolding "Gotta do better than that Sawyer." Before adding a probing "but enough holding out on me. The suspense is killing me."

Maggie attempted to play the fishing comments off as simply Kate trying to miss with her head to get the upper hand in their friendly sparring match, but "Her sister did send a video." The dazed detective says already jogging over to retrieve her phone as evidence. "I guess she wanted me to have proof they were taking good care of him." Then adds a soft "Alex even got Brooks to take a bath."

At this Kate paused with owlish eyes. "Seriously?" She had met the rescue a few times during her and Maggie's earlier attempts at a serious relationship. Had even considered adopting the pup herself a few times until she remembered her life (both her day as well as her night job) didn't cater well to raising a pet. Even an adorable one like Brooks.

"Seriously." Maggie echoes "I mean it was just like a washcloth wipe-off kind but that has to count for something right?" she clarifies as Kate steps closer watching the mentioned clip over Maggie's shoulder. "This doesn't do her proper justice." Maggie warns pulling up the lengthy clip. "but you'll get the idea."

Kate rolls her eyes playfully nudging Maggie's hip with a groaned "Stop swooning and play it already Sawyer, I'm getting cavities over here" earning a not-so-soft blush from Maggie as she hits play.

The first thing they hear are Brooks scared whimpers as the scrambling dog jumps from one of the two beds the hotel room offered earning a surprised "Hey, Brookie. Did you have a nice nap with Auntie Kara?" at the dog's sudden appearance after nosing his way into the room's adjoining bathroom.

"Alex?" Kate questions

"Alex," Maggie confirmed with a shy smile

"You're right. This doesn't do her justice at all." Kate agrees but there was something in her ex's expression that had Maggie on edge. Something guarded. Questioning "What the hell is this cellphone grade com 64?" she goes on to complain to the video's low-grade quality as it continues running.

Alex now stripped to a dark-colored tank top and long shorts set obviously intended for sleepwear as the phone camera follows the hurrying dog. An open-faced shower takes up most of the available camera background behind the puzzled woman at the sink wetting down a washcloth as the sisters share a glance between them. Alex simply stared with a raised eyebrow off-camera considering Kara was currently busy filming

"Beats me, one second we were snuggling watching some cartoons well okay actually I was watching cartoons and Brookie was sleeping but then he….."

Brooks cuts her off giving another whimpered bark towards the obviously plugged-up sink the longer the two sisters talk. The pup visibly trembling in his fear as he put himself between Alex and the still running sink gently coaxing the closer human towards the apparent safety of the more wheelchair-accommodating shower.

"Alex has the same distrust of water Brooks does." Maggie offered in explanation at Kate's puzzled sideways glance. Even now Maggie feels her heartwarming at the coaxing calm of her new crush's voice as realization dawns across Alex's videoed face regardless of just how many times she'd watched it before she'd gone to bed herself the night before.

Alex having the sense to gesture for Kara to turn the water off before she drops to her knees beside the whimpering dog. "We're alright buddy. It can't hurt us." She attempts to soothe her hand outstretched but not exactly touching the still shaking k9.

"Aww Brooksie, you're alright buddy," Kate whispered now completely enthralled with the video when she like Maggie already knew noticed the growing puddle now staining the polished laminate of the bathroom floor after finishing and sending off a quick text of her own behind Maggie's back before stealthy returning her phone to the pocket of her gym shorts.

"I'll get some more towels," Kara says dropping her still filming phone onto a towel rack across from the weak-bladdered dog and her still kneeling sister.

"Okay I think I'm in love with this woman," Kate confesses watching as the unintended still playing stream of phone video showed Alex gently coaxing a whimpering Brooks to a drier square of the bathroom floor her tone soft and understanding in the show of nervousness. "Hang on go back a second, was she humming the She-Ra theme to your dog?"

Maggie blinks a few times full of confusion taking the place of the possible blush of a crush coloring her cheeks as the video had drawn to a close.

"Was she?" Maggie asks shocked running the clip back herself to double-check. "Holy….she likes She Ra?" How many times had she watched the longer-than-expected clip and she hadn't caught that little nugget of information over the sheer albeit poor videoed quality beauty that just was Alex Danvers, FBI agent?

"Oh yeah, you're definitely already in love with this one, Sawyer." Kate decides with a laugh at the dreamy glaze of her ex's eyes.

"Shut up Kane." Maggie denies throwing a weak punch to the taller woman's side that ends in Kate once more rolling her eyes as she turns her back to answer the buzz of her phone from an answering message.

Soph: Gonna need a name if you want me to run a check for you Kane.

At this Kate grins giving a whispered 'Not even complaining I called you babe, dang you going soft on me too, Moore." Instead of typing her answer, Kate sends a picture of the lifted credentials she'd smuggled from Maggie's bag when her ex was changing into more workout-worthy clothes.

"She's got Mag's head turned too quick for comfort Soph; I just want to be sure she's not going to get her heart broken." Kate defends typing as quickly as she could as she sneakily returned the borrowed id to her ex's bag whilst Maggie was still distracted by a phone call of her own.
