The Wolowitz Conclusion

Chapter five

Howard looked at the clock and sighed. It was 5.30pm and almost time to go home. He didn't want to. He wanted to stay there, he was fed up of the rut that he and Bernadette were in. the new arrival in the Hofstadter house was a welcome distraction, but it seemed to remind the other members of the group of things they were missing. Amy knew Sheldon would have had something to say about it. He loved his 'nieces and nephews' as much as other proud 'uncles' but Kristian's arrival would have been a change that he would have found hard to deal with, just like all of the other children including his own. For Howard it was the thought of the closeness between Leonard and Penny, he missed that with Bernadette, he didn't know how they managed to have four children and still have the spark. He knew Leonard so well that he could tell if he had 'gotten lucky' the night before just by the look on his face and his stature as he stood.

Howard picked up his phone and looked at some of the flirty messages both he and Hannah had been sending back and forth. Howard had been telling himself it was just harmless fun, just like when Bernadette went on girls night with Amy and Penny and flirted with guys.

Come to my office now. I'll be waiting for you xxx

Howard floated his thumb over the send button, before pressing it and feeling a little bit of sexual arousal and the thought of being naughty for the first time in nearly six months, even if it was with someone who wasn't his wife. Hannah had no hesitation on her willingness to oblige and was stood just outside his office in less than ten minutes. She had a feeling that wearing a super short skirt and skimpy top was a good idea for today. As she walked into the office she saw Howard sitting there. He had been lying to her and saying that him and Bernadette had separated, that he was only still living there as it was his mother's house and he didn't want to move out and then loose the house in the divorce. That he didn't want to upset Halley and Michael any more than he had to and so he was the poor hard done by husband.

Still at work, will be late

He had sent to Bernadette knowing it was a completely plausible excuse and that there was very little chance of him getting caught. Leonard was on paternity leave, Sheldon was dead, and Raj had gone home to India for a visit.

"hey handsome" Hannah purred as she stood in the doorway, her short skirt was shorter than Howard had remembered and her breasts seemed bigger too "shall we settle the problem that your ex-wife hasn't been?"

"of course, beautiful" Howard did feel some guilt. It wasn't true that he and Bernadette had split up, it wasn't true that they were sleeping in different bedrooms, but it was true that they hadn't had sex in almost a year and he had needs, obviously more than her "I'm all ready for you"

Howard felt even more guilty after the event, but god he had enjoyed it, he missed sex, he missed the closeness, the feeling, the ecstasy as he climaxed. Hannah was different to Bernadette, the fact that she was taller made Howard's neck not as sure afterwards, Hannah's legs seemed to go on for miles and her breasts were bigger than Bernadette's. it hadn't taken long for Howard to come after the long time between now and the last time, so he wasn't too late home. He sat outside for a few minutes the guilt getting much worse the more he thought about it. There was no one he could talk to about it, he knew Leonard would tell Penny and Raj would just go straight to Bernadette. His only other friend, Hannah, was the one he was sleeping with and his mother was dead. He had no one. He hated that his primal urges had taken over and he had been weak. It would never happen again, he promised himself.

Howard stuck to his word for a few days, he tried harder with Bernadette, but nothing seemed to change. Not doing the cooking for her, not the flowers he bought for her on Friday evening. Not arranging more time for Bernadette to go out with her friends, nothing. So Howard found the guilt subside as he realised that nothing he did was helping his relationship with Bernadette. So he started texting Hannah again which had ended up in them having hook ups in the office every day of the week. Howard thought he had gotten away with it until he got cocky.

Leonard was still only working part time so Penny was thoroughly enjoying her maternity leave with him, Leonard loved showing off his family so as Kristian was now two weeks old and Megan was handling her crutches well they decided that the six of them would pay a visit to the university, Leonard also wanted to show off his new car. After showing Kristian off to Barry Kripkie, Lesley Winkle and professor Siebert, they took their usual route down to uncle Howard's office. Leonard could hear some moving around in there, but didn't think much of it. Maybe he was looking for something or moving something.

"afternoon Howard" Leonard said as he flung open the door to see Hannah riding Howard as they had sex on the floor

"what the hell are you doing?" Penny yelled, seeing her best friends husband with another girl

"ever hear of knocking?" Hannah giggled sheepishly

"who the hell are you?" Penny could feel even more rage as she took a look at the blonde floozy ruining her best friend's marriage

"I'm Howard's new girlfriend" Hannah cooed, "I'm so glad he's broken up with his horrible wife, I'm here to mend the pieces of his broken heart"

"what the hell?" Penny screamed, rage coming out of her eyes in the form of tears "they've not broken up"

"yes they have" Hannah demanded, "Howard told me they had"

"Howard?" Leonard piped up trying to get Megan and Elliot out of the room, they didn't need to see this "what is going on?"

"what's going on Leonard," Penny answered for Howard "is that this skank, has been fucking Bernadette's husband, Halley and Michael's father and he has been lying to everyone"

"Penny…" Leonard tried to stop her "not in front of the kids"

"take them away" she demanded "get my children away from this, this, useless excuse for a husband, and this, this, slut"

"come on, Megan, Elliot, Alice" Leonard smiled at them "let's let Mommy sort this out with Howard"

Leonard walked out of the room leaving both Howard and Hannah with Penny. He knew better than to argue with his wife, and he knew that Penny wouldn't let this lie. Their whole life was going to come crashing down around them, for a second time in less than a year, and Leonard wondered whether this would be worse for everyone than Sheldon's death had been.
