Honestly? Having Colonnello as her element had been a great decision. She loved it. She actually hadn't known how much of an impact it would have but since they bonded they met up at least once a month, their texting shot through the roof as well and even when he wasn't with her she just felt this warm little spot in her chest, calming in a way but still cheerful.

Even when she had a moment where she was missing her friends too much the little spot in her chest helped fill the emptiness.

It was like he was always there with her, cheering her up and while she usually wasn't that interested in having constant company… This was different. In a way she got used to having him around without him actually being present.

It felt right, more than just that.

Leilani was happy. Their routine picked up and even when they didn't meet up they usually spent Sunday evenings watching a movie together through facetime.

He even got her hooked up on Smores and it even got common for them to have small bonfires together when he was with her.

Whenever Nello had a day off she usually stole him from the island and they flew somewhere together. Sometimes staying in her airship for the whole day lounging around together and gaming and sometimes they went on adventures together.

He didn't treat her much differently than before, their cuddle time had increased though. Colonnello had always noticed how skinship shy she was. While he had already tried to remedy it when he still thought she was a guy he went to greater lengths now.

It wasn't like she didn't like it… but… she never really got the chance before.

While Hermione had loved giving her hugs they never spent hours on the couch, huddled together.

Nello did that with her though. They usually did something else while doing it and she had a weird obsession with headpats because of him..

At one point Colonnello even tried teaching her how to swim. It didn't end that well but Oodako had stayed with her and lifted her up in the air as soon as Leilani started to panic.

Nello had made her hot chocolate afterwards and they stayed together in his flat for hours.

Leilani hadn't talked much, just crawled closer to him.

Water had never been her favourite thing. She always remembered the scalding hot baths her aunt had given her, the times when she had been allowed to shower alone only for the Dursleys to turn off the hot water completely, the times when her uncle or dudley had their fun dunking her under water or… and this was the worst. Way worse than any memories of the Dursleys. The time of her second task. It hadn't been nice to go into the water then, the only thing pushing her to do it was her desperation to save Ron. The whole thing hadn't left any kind of good impression and that Ron hadn't even been in actual danger just hit the nail deeper.

Generally remembering the tournament wasn't nice, not even a bit. She faulted it for being here and… she had never wanted to do it and the time when she had lost Ron? Yeah… the tournament was the worst.

She really had wanted to try learning swimming though. Colonnello loved water but even when she tried to say that they could try it again later he was against it.

He didn't actually say anything, just pulled her closer and wrapped her blanket tighter around her.

All together Colonnello and her were closer than ever and life was great, even if she obviously pushed the thought away what the other arcobalenos were thinking.

They kept their promise and she didn't meet them either. Nello asked her on occasion if she wanted to go to a meeting or if she wanted to know about them but she always refused.

In a way she was slightly scared. Something probably would have changed and she wasn't sure if she liked it. Maybe they would hate her even? She didn't know and she seriously didn't want to think about what she would prefer.

She even made it a habit of her to not land in any of their prefered spots. She once had her pacifier light up and she immediately set sail again. She really would face that only when she had to and that day had definitely not been then.

But running away never worked for all too long, even with the more than just good track record that she had.

She didn't notice anything weird when her usual annual attack started. At least until she heard someone scream about the Vongola.

Leilani immediately froze.

This hadn't been planned, not at all and she didn't trust her luck well enough to imagine that it was the older generation.

She knew that reborn was training the new Vongola heir and therefore… he probably was here as well.

Sure, in theory she could just turn her airship around and fly off but… she had never done that before. She had always visited Colonnello afterwards, at least greeted him and if she didn't it would be obvious that she was running away.

She groaned out frustrated, face planting her face against the wall to her right before standing up.. Apparently the day had come and she would need to deal with another Arcobaleno and it even was Reborn. She was fucked but… she would do it fabulously.

With a new found determination she opened the door of her airship, not planning to land it first but letting the ladder out.

Oodako was already in the water. She had let her companion travel with the Carcassa for a bit so that the marine animal could swim a bit more.

Leilani took another deep breath to calm her nerves. Her ship was floating a few metres over the ground and she started to slide down her ladder. Magic and gloves getting rid of the otherwise bad friction and helping her land savely, directly in front of the Vongola heir.

Using the cracker jinx she made several wizarding firework appear behind her. "The great Skull-sama has arrived!"

She grinned and was already pulling out the badge she had handcrafted this year for Nello.

Stepping over to him to present it to him "Safety check completed. I deem Mafia Island save for your inhabitants once again!"

The rain was snickering but let her pin the badge to his t-shirt.

It had long become another tradition. She produced small trinkets, often enough with magical effects, like the goblet she had made him last year that started to sing when he had it in his hands.

This year's badge just switched besides different emoticons that mirrored Nello's own facial expressions.

The rain was already peering down to find out what she did this year and she used the chance to pat his head "Very good work." she tried to say in her most serious tone.

Colonnello just burst out laughing before ruffling her hair in exchange.

"La- … Skull."

She wrinkled her nose while still facing her rain which only made him chuckle more but she turned around, a way too sweet smile on her that combined with her magic just looked slightly deranged which she knew from experience. "Yes, Senpai?"

"It's good to see you. Been busy?"

"Quiet, quiet. Who could fault me? The world just needs to get their dose of my awesomeness after all. As much as it pains me but… I just can't give you all that much attention. It would be unfair to my other fans."

Reborns smirk was still in place as he mustered her "Tsuna's house in Nanimori is always open for you if you need a bit of rest from…" he gestured at her complete body "This." completely ignoring the shriek and complaints of the Vongola heir next to him.

"Oh my! But I couldn't. Just my mere presence could be too much for such a noble house."

"The offer stays."

She just shrugged "If I'm totally bored, sure… but well you're not that fun Senpai."

"I beg to differ."

"Sure sure."

"I could prove to you how delightful my attention would be."

She struck out her tongue "Bleh. Did that line ever work?"

"It did. Yes."

"I can see the standards of your girlfriends then."

The hitman tapped on his fedora "Very high once. I assure you." his eyes fixated on her face "And I assure you I could help you with your makeup. Maybe find something more fitting?"

She was clearly pouting at this point. She liked her makeup. It took years to perfect after all "Well you could do with a makeover yourself. The costumes are what? An identity crisis?"

He took a deep breath but before Reborn could say anything more she turned her attention to Tsunayoshi "Wanna see something funny?"

The Vongola already had his hands raised in the air, clearly overwhelmed by the exchange but she didn't mind.

Her grin widened even more as her fingertips lightened up while casting Crinus Muto.

She could hear Colonnellos boisterous laugh next to her.

Reborn himself tried to pinpoint what she did this time and out of the corner of his eye he noticed the difference in his side curls. "Skull." he gritted out.

She just clapped her hands in delight "It's streaked! Really, purple and green are definitely your colours. You should change your entire wardrobe!"

"Skull." he gritted out again.

"Ah? You're mad because no one can see it with that big of a hat? Lemme help!"

The teleportation spell she had once struggled so hard with had been perfected over the years. After all, it was possible to send items to quiet far away locations in her world.

Reborns hands were gripping up, not finding his Fedora anymore and his eyes narrowed even more "Skull. Give me back my Fedora."

"No can do."

"Why not."

"Really not able to reach that place right now.. would really be impolite to be honest." She had already wriggled her fingers again to make her ladder float over.

"Skull. Where. Is. My. Fedora?"

She tapped her chin with one hand "I dunno…" her hand grasped onto the ladder "Have you checked your butthole yet?" and as she looked at the definitely horrified look on Reborns face, she made her ladder shoot her up back into the airship.

caffeinated sleeping pill: So… Fon is asking why he's suddenly in possession of Reborns Fedora.

Houdini: Well… I did tell Reborn to check his arse.
