It was obvious that Leilani and Colonnello had used the chance to have a sleepover after the trials were done.

Honestly Leilani was more than just unhappy when Colonnellos ringing phone woke her up so she just buried herself more into his chest and pulled the blanket over her head.

She could hear Nello groan as he blindly tried to find his phone, just declining the phone call before she could feel his arm around her again. Not that it lasted long as the caller didn't seem inclined to give up.

Nello cursed quietly, grasping his phone again and this time picking up. "Reborn, Skull's sleeping. Can't you wait for a normal hour?" he whispered into the phone. Only to sit up at the answer.

Gently getting up from the bed and pulling the blanket around his sky again before moving away towards the kitchen, sending an apologising look at Skull.

She was completely buried in her blanket only one eye lurked out, that slowly opened and accusingly stared at him.

He really could only curse Reborn, even if the sight was way too cute to handle. Still he would rather have stayed in bed for a while longer.

Leilani buried herself more in the covers. She would curse Reborn later. Way later. With some luck Nello would soon come back to bed and their morning routine wouldn't be interrupted.

It didn't take long until she could feel the mattress shifting.

"Skull? Reborn needs to talk with you."

She just shook her head, pulling the blanket more over her head.

She could hear him chuckle "It's important."

"I can't hear you."

"I will make you breakfast after?"

"Sleep."

He laughed as he climbed behind her, pulling her body so that she was leaning against him, even if she still didn't let go of the blanket. He didn't mind, just held his phone against her ear.

Reborns voice rang out "Skull. I need you back at namimori."

"You forgot our wager? I just was there. Are you feeling your age or what's going on?"

"I'm sorry but it's serious."

She finally pulled the blanket off her head "Why?"

"I can't tell you what's going on."

"Then let me sleep."

"I need you to train Hibari."

"What?" she paused, still clutching the blanket but looking up at her rain confused.

"I need them to get stronger. It's important. They need to pass a Trial and I need you to help him."

"But he's strong. What do you even expect me to do? He got cloud flames handled pretty well."

"But you're better. I'm asking all the arcobalenos to train one of the guardians."

"But why?"

"They need to get stronger."

"Honestly? I can't perform miracles over night and he wouldn't even listen to me."

"Leave your makeup off. He's weak to cuteness."

"That's your plan?"

"Yes."

"That's a horrible plan."

"Please."

"But why?"

"I can't tell you… something happens in the future, alright? I cannot risk anything changing but I need you to help him."

She paused, immediately way more awake and sitting up more "So we're talking time paradox?"

"Yes. I know this isn't much but I really need you."

"Alright."

He paused "...you agreed?"

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"Seriously senpai? First you want me to help you that badly and now you question it? I get time stuff, alright?"

"Alright. You're coming with Colonnello?"

"Sure."

"Thanks." and with that he hung up.

Leilani turned around looking at the rain who was still holding her in his arms "Why do I have the feeling that something went horribly wrong?"

"Because it probably did."

Leilani hadn't trusted Hibari to retell his meeting with Alaude and so she had followed him that night.

She had quietly walked away afterwards.

Still she wasn't sure what she should teach him. This wasn't about Hibari getting stronger, it couldn't be. Hibari was strong, stronger than every other guardian. She wouldn't need to focus on that and the way he handled his cloud flames was good. There was no reason to teach him how to change his own size or duplicate more delicately. It wouldn't help him and well.. while cloud flames had more uses… most of them would be too gruesome.

She had refused to teach Tsuna how to force his will onto others and she wouldn't teach Hibari how to torture and kill with cloud flames either.

She didn't believe this would help him face the trial. Far from it. It couldn't be. The first generation hadn't been a cold blooded mafia famiglia… they had been vigilantes.

To be honest she could see three major flaws in him, his inability to work in a team, him not being part of the group and his refusal to use his mist flames.

She didn't even know how much time she had and it was Hibari. Even if Reborns words were true and she would have leeway because of her appearance it didn't change that he wouldn't indulge her endlessly. She had no real interest to fight against him mindlessly until his trial was done and honestly she saw it as pointless.

Leilani sighed as she made her way back to her airship. Maybe her best bet would really be to just get to him tomorrow and try to figure out how by merlin she was supposed to do this.

Leinali had quietly made her way onto the roof. Hibari was sleeping so she just sat down next to him, sitting cross legged. She had never had problems with sneaking, an essential skill to survive the Dursleys after all.

She pulled her helmet off, which had been her only way to keep her face hidden. It wasn't like she minded it if she was seen but… she had no interest in the hassle, not yet at least.

After a few minutes the small bird that usually followed him around had fluttered over, circling around her head for a few rounds before settling on her head.

Maybe her friends had been right when they called her hair a bird's nest… which was kinda unfair as she currently still wore her shortened hair which made them unbelievably neater. But she didn't protest, in a way it was nice. She still missed Hedwig immensely. Hibird wasn't an owl or anything similar but still.. It was nice.

Leilani waited for half an hour until his eyes finally opened and his eyes almost immediately snapped towards her.

"Hello, I'm Skull." she smiled at him, she had even used her own voice for this.

He stared back, not answering but watching her.

"Would you mind if I spend some time with you? Until the trials are over?"

She wasn't sure how she would categorise the noise he made but he at least didn't seem mad. So she took it as a win.

"Senpai wants me to tutor you. But in all honesty I see no merit in trying to force you to sit down and go through mindless practises. So… would you instead allow me to accompany you for a bit?"

Again just a grunt as an answer but she wouldn't complain. He didn't either, when she followed him for the rest of the day.

Leilani was very certain about her judgement that training Hibari in the classical sense would be pointless as soon as she saw Yamamoto's trial.

She hadn't joined the other watchers, instead stayed hidden in the woods. She wasn't certain if any of the arcobalenos had noticed her or not but they left her to it.

She had refused to meet them for a quick meeting as well. It wasn't like she was trying to avoid them but… the whole situation weighed heavy on her mind. Why had Reborn asked them to train them? It didn't make any sense. This wasn't about strength. Colonnello's basic training regime was maybe not pointless but… Yamamoto had failed and it wasn't because he wasn't fit, trained or strong. Especially with the small timeframe they had it didn't make any sense.

Furthermore she had no clue what kind of challenge Hibari would get. There was nothing specific she could aim for and circle around. In a way it even seemed pointless. It wasn't about flame strength either.

The first generation had clearly stated it was about their guardian qualities. As much as she was cloudy. Hibari and her didn't have the same personality or energy. And what would she know about being a guardian? She wasn't one. She was a sky. She had no experience or knowledge about being a guardian. Sure, she had one but… they didn't work like Tsuna and his and she had no cloud either. It just didn't make sense why Reborn had wanted her here.

If it truly was about values then what was she supposed to do within the short timeframe? There was no way to change someone fundamentally that quickly and especially not a cloud. She would refuse to do it with anyone but…Hibari was headstrong, he was his own person, fully with his own values. What was her role in this?

Even if Reborn wanted her to teach Hibari her magic… it was pointless. Hibari wasn't like Tsuna who sat down and would actually practise and had friends who pulled him through it. Tsuna had taken hours to produce the small silver wisp. What was even the use to teach Hibari something like the geminio curse? Or a growth spell? Was he supposed to impress Alaude with this?

It couldn't be. Alaude was pragmatic. He resembled Hibari way more than she did them… maybe this was it? Maybe she should focus on his flaws, not change them but make him realise them. She could aid him in his growth, give him a jumpstart and the rest he would have to do himself. He was smart and he was definitely self oriented. He wouldn't like to get every answer spoon fed, he had to make his own conclusions.

All of this was madness though. She would barely have time to achieve any of this.

Leilani sighed again as she made her way back to the airship.

Tomorrow she would try. There was nothing more that she could do anyway.
