TW: Thank you.

Gallifrey 22.3: Thank you.

An image of the earth is shown before various people across the world are shown connecting to the Wi-Fi. Between the montage, a man shows a cardboard with strange symbols written on it, urging people not to click it as people are shown clicking it. The man explains 'they' are in your computer once you've clicked it and might choose you. The man warns that if they choose you, you die.

"Oi! What?!" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers stared at the screen startled.

"Something is using the Wi-Fi to kill people?" Martha asked in disbelief.

The people that clicked on the symbol are shown dead as the man says you die 24 hours after you click the symbols. The man explains people's souls are being uploaded into the Wi-Fi and he knows it because he was one of the people who clicked. It's then revealed the man is one of many souls, crying out for help.

"Blimey," Mickey muttered as the past viewers all stared at the screen in horror.

"It's like Skynet, if Skynet took your soul," Jack mused, wondering what could be behind this.

"All those people," Wilf said in horror.

"They're still trapped, this is happening right now," Martha realized in horror. "We have to help them, get them out."

"And we will. But I think watching this all the way through might help us do that," Jack pointed out and Martha flushed.

"Right," Martha muttered as the recording continued.

In Cambria, 1207, a monk is seen banging on a door of an abbey and warning that the bells of Saint John are ringing. Later, the monk Abbot walks out of the abbey, telling the monk they must 'go to him'. Later, the two monks are shown in a cave, the young monk holding a flaming torch as he asks if they call 'him' the mad monk. Abbot says they shouldn't, as 'he' is hardly a monk. They find a cloaked monk inside the cave and Abbot warns him the Bells of Saint John are ringing. The clocked monk stands up and lowers his hood. It's The Doctor.

"The mad monk. Why am I not bloody surprised?" Donna asked in exasperation.

"Well, he's certainly mad. But a monk? I don't think so?" Jack said, smirking in amusement.

"What is he doing all the way out there?" Wilf wondered.

"It's explained in a minute," Jane said with a tight smile.

The Doctor says he'll need a horse and walks further into the cave. The monk looks at The Doctor's painting of Clara and Abbot explains The Doctor came here to try and figure out Clara's secret. "If he is mad, this is his madness."

"You have no idea how right you are about that," Martha said darkly as the mood became grim, all of them reminded of what was happening with The Doctor.

"Spaceman," Donna muttered sadly, her heart broken to see her friend so completely wrapped up in the Siren's spell.

In present day London, Clara is on the phone as she bickers with her charge Angie; assuring Angie she's not trying to be her mother. Angie's father then walks in and is handed keys by a boy around Angie's age. The man assures Clara Angie will be fine on her own but Clara says she'll be upstairs trying to figure out her computer.

"Another Clara then?" Mickey asked as the past viewers watched interested.

"This one in the present day. I assume this is the Clara that was originally possessed by the Spare Siren?" Jack inquired and Jane nodded.

"Yeah, this is the Clara the Space Siren first possessed when it first escaped," Jane confirmed.

Jack frowned as the past viewers continued watching, wondering how this Clara was able to appear earlier and all be possessed by the Siren.

The man tells the boy, Artie that they need to go. On his way out, Clara and Artie discuss his book, Summer Falls by Amelia Williams.

"Amy," Donna realized as the past viewers stilled and Jane smiled sadly.

"Yeah, Melody Malone wasn't Amy's only book. She actually made a career of it as a successful author," Jane explained.

"Well good for her," Martha said, although there was no joy in her voice, only sadness.

Artie and his father leave and Clara heads upstairs to her room. Clara taps the internet connections on her computer and sees the symbols. In 1207, The Doctor is standing with the monks who have gotten him a horse when they hear a phone ringing. The three go back into the cave and see the sound is coming from the TARDIS, which The Doctor says shouldn't happen. The Doctor pulls a phone out of a compartment and answers it. It's Clara, asking why she doesn't have internet.

"What the bloody Hell?" Mickey asked as they all stared at the screen in disbelief.

"She called the TARDIS," Martha stated the obvious.

"We're bloody well aware! But how?" Donna exclaimed.

"It's explained in a minute," Jane said as the recording continued.

Confused at first, The Doctor realizes Clara is calling from 2013 and asks how she got this number. Clara says a woman in a shop gave it to her and told her it was the best helpline in the universe. The Doctor asks about the woman but Clara doesn't know much about her.

"A woman in a shop? Some random woman in a shop gave it to her?" Jack asked suspiciously.

"That's what she said. We never do find out how she actually got the number," Jane shrugged.

"Come on. You must have an idea," Mickey noted suspiciously and Jane was silent for a long moment.

"If I had to guess, I'd say at some point after it assumed complete control over Clara's body, the Space Siren assumed its true form, took the TARDIS back to earlier in Clara's timeline and gave her the number," Jane explained.

"That…makes sense in an 'I'm an evil monster' kind of way," Donna said after a moment.

"It really planned this out," Martha noted.

"It had centuries to plot its revenge. It just had to wait for the perfect moment to make Dad suffer. And it did," Jane said with a tight smile.

Clara asks about the internet and, although confused, The Doctor asks if she's clicked on the Wi-Fi icon. Clara clicks on it and goes to Maitland_Family. Angie walks in, asking to go to a friends and Clara asks for the password to the Wi-Fi. Angie gives it to her but Clara wonders how she's supposed to remember that. The monk asks The Doctor if it's an evil spirit but The Doctor says it's a woman. The monk makes a gesture for warding off evil.

"Doesn't seem like he knows a difference," Jack said, amused as Mickey snickered and Donna and Martha became annoyed.

"He's a monk. Women represented temptation and all that," Jane shrugged.

"Well maybe he needs to get out more," Donna grumbled.

Clara goes to put it the password saying 'run you clever boy and remember' as she does. Remembering his past encounters with Clara saying the same thing, The Doctor calls out to her, causing Clara to put in the wrong password. Clara then clicks the symbols.

"Oh Spaceman, you dumbo," Donna said in exasperation as the past viewers watched uneasily.

"This can't go well," Jack muttered.

"About as well as usual," Jane shrugged.

"That bad huh?" Mickey asked dryly as they watched tense.

Clara's face appears on some kind of screen as she tells The Doctor it was merely something to remember the password. Clara goes to leave as it's revealed the image of her room is on a wall with all the souls captured by the internet.

"Clara's next then," Martha realized and Jane nodded.

The room was silent, the past viewers not really sure how to feel about this. While they wanted the Siren gone, Clara was ultimately just an innocent bystander in all this. She didn't deserve to die for it.

At the house, Clara goes to answer the front door as someone incessantly knocks and rings the doorbell. She opens the door to see The Doctor, still dressed like a monk. She looks at him oddly as he greets her by her full name, asking if she remembers him. But she does not, saying Oswin is not her middle name.

"This is all very strange," Wilf noted.

"It is, even by his standards," Jack mused, narrowing his eyes. "Who are you Clara Oswald, and how can there be so many of you possessed by the Space Siren?"

"Spoilers," Jane said with a tight smile.

The Doctor introduces himself and she asks Doctor who. The Doctor asks her to repeat that twice and The Doctor notes how much he enjoys hearing that said out loud. Clara slams the door in his face and starts going up the stairs when The Doctor begins beating on the door, saying he needs to talk to her.

"Well, that could have gone better," Mickey noted.

"I want to shout at him to stay away. But…" Donna trailed off.

"But you know he won't, and it'll lead him to ruin," Jack said hollowly and Donna nodded, tears forming in her eyes.

No one said a word as Wilf took Donna's hand silently. They knew that was what they were here to prevent, but it didn't make it any easier.

In a room with people in suits at desks and computers, a man briefs an older woman on Clara and the woman orders Clara to be uploaded and given computer skills. The woman tells the man, Alexei that they're servers and he apologizes to her, calling her Ms. Kizlet. Kizlet walks up the stairs and meets another man in a suit, saying they should have Alexei killed.

"How very Dalek of you," Jack said darkly as the past viewers watched the screen in interest.

"So these are the people behind the people dying," Mickey muttered.

"But why? And who are they?" Martha muttered.

"And don't you dare say Spoilers," Donna snapped at Jane.

Jane merely smiled and shrugged. Which only annoyed Donna further.

The man says he'll inform HR but Kizlet says to kill Alexei after he gets back from Holiday. They walk into an office and the man worries they'll get noticed for uploading too many people so quickly. Kizlet says what they're doing is like immortality so not to let it affect his conscience. The man says his conscience is fine as Kizlet is shown running her finger on a tablet. The man goes to leave before pausing, wondering if she just hacked him. Kizlet says he merely changed his mind and he says he hoped he did before leaving. The woman is shown running her finger on the tablet again, decreasing before increasing his paranoia.

"Wait, what?" Martha asked as they past viewers looked at the screen startled.

"Oi! You mean they can actually hack people?!" Donna exclaimed in disbelief.

"Once they come for you, they can essentially do anything," Jane said a dark look crossing her voice.

"Who exactly are they?" Jack asked and she shrugged.

"You'll find out soon enough," Jane said as she gestured to the screen.

Jack looked at her blankly before turning back to the screen, hoping his answers would come soon.

Back at the house, The Doctor pleads with Clara and she heads over to a monitor, pushing a button that shows his face. She asks why he's here and he says she phoned him. Clara is surprised, wondering how he got here so fast. He says he happened be in the neighborhood. Not believing him as he points to the TARDIS, Clara turns off the monitor. Hearing a door shut upstairs, Clara calls out, seeing if it's Angie. Not receiving an answer, Clara walks over to the stairs as a little girl in a dress walks down.

"What the bloody Hell is that?" Mickey asked as the past viewers looked at the screen oddly.

"A little girl. Why is there a little girl in the house?" Martha asked, all of them getting a bad feeling.

"I think we're about to find out," Jack muttered as they watched uneasily.

Clara asks if the girl is a friend of Angie's and the girl robotically says she is. The girl begins repeating back whatever Clara says to her and Clara realizes the girl is from the cover of Summer Falls. Clara then watches in shock as the girl's head turns all the way around, revealing an electronic device where the back of her head should be.

"Oi!" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers stared at the screen in disbelief.

"What is that?" Martha asked, not sure what she was seeing.

"Some kind of cyborg. Far too advanced for the Twenty-First Century," Jack said as he examined it with a critical eye.

"So alien technology then?" Mickey asked and Jack shrugged.

"Seems to be the only explanation," Jack said as they watched the scene curiously.

In the TARDIS, The Doctor walks inside and throws off his robe, going through a compartment of clothes and getting dressed. The Doctor then takes out a small wooden box, opening it to reveal a bowtie.

While this coaxed a small smile out of Martha and Donna, the feeling of happiness was tempered by the fact that this was still only the result of the Siren.

After putting it on, The Doctor heads back to the house, buzzing Clara and trying to convince her to let him in. But Clara claims to not know where she is, alarming him. The Doctor uses his screwdriver to unlock the door before rushing inside. Finding Clara unconscious, The Doctor quickly scans her, determining she's still alive as Clara's voice continues saying she doesn't know where she is. Standing up, The Doctor sees the girl with the back of her head to him. Clara's face is on it.

"So that's how they're uploading people," Jack mused.

"Some kind of future/alien technology that allows them to upload someone's consciousness to their mainframe," Donna noted and Jack nodded.

"No need to make the rest of us feel stupid," Mickey muttered as they all watched uneasily.

The Doctor uses his screwdriver on the girl and at the room; Alexei is uploading Clara when the upload stops. The image of the girl fades away, revealing a robot. The Doctor realizes what is happening before heading upstairs, scanning Clara's room before seeing her laptop. Grabbing it, he takes it back downstairs and begins typing it as Alexei and a few others in suits realize The Doctor is reversing an upload. Kizlet asks if that's possible and is informed it is if the upload isn't fully integrated. Alexei and the others watch in shock as the upload percentage decreases as The Doctor promises Clara he won't let her die this time. Alexei is asked if he can stop this and says he no. The upload percentage reaches 0 and the robot shoots a beam down at Clara. Clara wakes up coughing, to The Doctor's relief.

"Guess they've never encountered someone as smart as Boss," Mickey muttered as the past viewers watched the screen conflicted.

While Clara did not deserve to die and they were relieved she was alright, if she had died, so would the Siren and The Doctor would have been freed from her spell.

That night, Kizlet paces in her office before a man walks in, explaining the hacker sent a message. A holographic screen appears on the wall with the words 'under my protection' on it, signed 'The Doctor'. The man says they think he's talking about Clara and Kizlet orders him out, as she has to speak to the client. The man leaves and she walks over to the screen, pushing a button. "Sir. The one you told me about, he's here. The Doctor is here."

"Oi!" Donna exclaimed in shock as the past viewers looked at the screen startled.

"She knows about The Doctor," Wilf said in alarm.

"So she's working for one of his enemies then," Jack noted, eying the screen suspiciously.

"Doesn't really narrow it down," Mickey pointed out as they wondered which one it could be.

At the house, The Doctor pours Clara a glass of water before putting flowers in a vase by her bedside as she sleeps along with a plate of cookies, one of which The Doctor takes a bite of. The Doctor goes through a book on Clara's shelf, where he finds a leaf inside. He examines it before putting it and the book back. The Doctor heads out of her room just before Clara wakes up. She looks around in confusion before hearing the front door shut. Opening her window, she sees The Doctor sitting in a chair on her laptop, sitting outside the TARDIS which is parked on the street. They greet each out and The Doctor inquires if she's alright.

"Well she was almost killed and she's possessed by an alien Siren. I wouldn't call that 'alright' Doctor," Martha muttered as they continued to watch with a growing sense of unease.

Clara asks what happened and The Doctor gives her messages from Angie and her father and a list of things he's done while she was asleep, among of which was inventing the quadricycle. Clara asks what happened to her, only remembering being scared and not knowing where she was. Confirming that Clara knows now, The Doctor suggests she should go to bed. He assures Clara she's safe before wishing her goodnight. Clara goes to go back inside before realizing The Doctor is guarding her. The Doctor confirms this and Clara laughs, asking if he'll sit down there all night.

"Even if he wasn't charmed by the Siren, The Doctor would still probably do that," Jack noted, a wistful sadness filling the room.

"It was the kind of man he was," Jane agreed with a sad smile and no more words were spoken, each of them lost in their memories of The Doctor.

The Doctor vows he's not going to move from that spot and Clara says she'll come to him. The Doctor gets up as Clara closes her window. Alexei, Kizlet and another man are watching this on a computer screen. After confirming Clara is alive and in the house, Kizlet ups Alexei's IQ and orders him to do 'something creative' about that.

"Bloody brilliant," Donna grumbled as they all tensed, watching the screen uneasily.

"They don't mess around," Mickey muttered.

"They know Dad is onto them. They don't want him uncovering whatever it is they're doing," Jane noted.

"And they're going to do whatever it takes to keep him quiet. This is like the 456 incident all over again," Martha noted and a dark look crossed Jack's face, remembering the government's attempt to silence him.

"It really is," Jack said darkly.

Clara exits the house with a chair and two cups. Clara says she's a friend of the family but The Doctor notes she looks after the kids. The Doctor draws a comparison between this and his last encounter with Clara before covering. Clara asks what happened to her and The Doctor says something got in the Wi-Fi, explaining his theory that whatever is in the Wi-Fi is extracting human minds. "Isn't that basically Twitter?" Clara asks.

"Can't really say she's wrong," Jane shrugged.

"The download was at least partially successful. She now has enough knowledge about the internet to be making jokes," Jack noted.

"So now the Siren has internet info as well. Brilliant," Donna said sarcastically.

The Doctor sees the symbols on Clara's Wi-Fi options and realizes a living, sentient computer might be responsible for what's happening. Clara wonders why but The Doctor points out she knew nothing about the internet a few hours ago but is now making a joke about Twitter. Clara wonders how she now knows so much about computers and The Doctor notes she got 'something extra back' from the upload. The Doctor then stands up, seeing someone watching them from across the street. The Doctor orders Clara inside the TARDIS but she refuses, thinking he's coming onto her. Seeing the lights of all the houses coming on, The Doctor points it out to Clara and explains the Wi-Fi is switching on the people. Clara sees the man watching them and is stunned as he turns his head around, revealing the same electronic device the girl had in the back of her head.

"They're surrounded," Mickey realized with a start.

"Just how much can they influence us?" Jack asked, a hint of unease entering his voice as the past viewers watched uneasily.

"You have no idea," Jane said with a grimace.

The Doctor reminds Clara of the girl she saw earlier, musing that they must have taken an image from her subconscious. The Doctor realizes they could be everywhere before he and Clara see the lights in the city all go out.

"Well that's ominous," Martha muttered as the tension in the room seemed to spike.

Kizlet is urged to not do a London wide activation, as they can't always pass it off as a riot. Seeing a plane coming towards them, The Doctor realizes whoever is behind this is using the plane's Wi-Fi to come after them. He leads Clara into the TARDIS, Clara amazed as The Doctor heads over to the console, quickly explaining and saying they don't have time to talk about it.

"They're sending a bloody plane after him?!" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers stared in horror.

"Looks like they're not taking any chances. Still, seems a bit excessive," Jack muttered.

"Well she did tell him to get creative," Jane shrugged.

"How will you get out of this Doctor?" Martha wondered uneasily as they all watched worriedly.

Clara is trying to process this as The Doctor preps for takeoff. The TARDIS jolts before The Doctor heads over to the doors, explaining they just flew away. The Doctor then opens the door to reveal the TARDIS is now on the plane. They run through the aisle and Clara notices the passengers appear to be unconscious, The Doctor assuring her they're not dead but switched off by the Wi-Fi. They stumble into the cockpit, Clara panicking as she sees they're about to crash and demanding The Doctor explain what's happening. The Doctor quickly explains who he is and asks if Clara can fly a plane. Since neither of them can, The Doctor grabs the controls and manages to steer the plane away from the houses.

"Oh thank God," Martha said as they all breathed a sigh of relief.

"Nice save Boss," Mickey muttered.

"That was too close," Jack said tiredly. "The Doctor needs to find a way to neutralize them, preferably before any more people get hurt."

"And how's he going to do that when he has no idea where they are?" Donna asked and Jack didn't have an answer.

The Doctor and Clara sigh in relief as the pilots come around, confused. The Doctor explains he's used his screwdriver to block the Wi-Fi before heading out of the cockpit, pulling Clara along. Kizlet demands her employees find the TARDIS. On the TARDIS, Clara demands The Doctor explain what's going on. The Doctor says he'll explain at breakfast and pulls a lever. The TARDIS jolts briefly and The Doctor heads towards the door. Clara snaps she's not waiting until breakfast but The Doctor points out it's a time machine. The Doctor opens the door and walks out. Clara follows him out to see they're on a street during the day, a group of onlookers applauding.

"Now you're just showing off Spaceman," Donna said with a laugh.

"He loves to show off," Martha said with a slight giggle.

"Do not get me started," Mickey said with the roll of his eyes, remembering many moments when the Ninth and Tenth Doctors had shown off for Rose.

The Doctor holds out his Fez, the onlookers placing money inside, thinking it's a donation. The Doctor leaves Clara holding the fez as he heads back inside, saying he needs to go to the garage. As Clara wonders if tomorrow's come early, The Doctor emerges with a motorcycle, explaining they took a shortcut.

"Since when does he have a motorcycle?" Mickey asked as the past viewers looked at the screen in disbelief.

"He invented it some point on his Farewell Tour," Jane shrugged.

"That does not surprise me in the slight," Martha said rolling her eyes in exasperation.

"Well you just keep getting more attractive, don't you Doctor?" Jack said flirtatiously, only annoying the others.

Clara gets on as The Doctor collects the donations. A few feet away, a man is taking a picture of a woman standing in front of the TARDIS. This triggers an alert that Alexei receives, saying he's found the TARDIS.

"Oh bloody brilliant," Donna said annoyed.

"That is why you shouldn't show off Doctor. Better to fly under the radar in this kind of situation," Jack said as they all watched uneasily.

The Doctor and Clara ride through town, Clara wondering why The Doctor needs a motorbike if he has a time machine and The Doctor explains he doesn't take it into battle, as he doesn't want it falling into the wrong hands. As they near Big Ben, they drive by a woman getting her picture taken, accidently getting caught in the background. Alexei receives another alert.

"They've turned the entire internet into a weapon," Donna realized in horror.

"With all these people uploading selfies to Twitter or any other social media sight, it gives Kizlet a map of the entire city to look at," Jack realized.

"She really has turned the internet into a weapon," Martha said, the past viewers horrified at the thought.

At a café, Clara eats as The Doctor is on the laptop, explaining that while Clara is tired from running, the ones chasing them are even more exhausted as they don't have a time machine. Using the laptop, The Doctor is able to determine whoever is chasing them is in London but their security is stopping him from finding their exact location. The Doctor admits he's an alien, which Clara isn't bothered by as they banter about whether The Doctor has a plan. He does not. The Doctor asks about Clara's job, noting she doesn't seem like a nanny. Not answering him, Clara pulls the laptop to her, saying she can find whoever's looking for them. Clara points out they uploaded her with computer knowledge as they tug the laptop back and forth before Clara snatches it away, promising she'll have the location in five minutes.

"How does she expect to get it when Boss couldn't?" Mickey asked in disbelief.

"Not sure, but considering where she got all that information on computers, she just might be able to do it," Jack mused as he watched with interest.

As Clara begins typing, The Doctor moves to go get a coffee when he pauses, looking back at Clara. She asks why he keeps doing that and The Doctor notes she's a nanny when she should be out doing 'young people things'. She teases him and, annoyed, The Doctor heads inside. The Doctor orders two cappuccinos and is told they will be right out. However, the man then says The Doctor doesn't have the slightest chance of saving Clara. The Doctor is confused as the man then seems to have no memory of this before repeating himself. The old man says he's not speaking when a woman walks up behind The Doctor, declaring she is the one speaking.

"Bloody Hell," Mickey whispered as the past viewers realized what was happening.

"They can bloody control people?!" Donna exclaimed in shock.

"This is like that novel by the author who wrote the Twilight books. Except its people using the internet instead of body snatching aliens," Martha muttered in disbelief.

"They can do a lot more than that I'm afraid," Jane said, horrifying the past viewers.

The Doctor whirls around as Kizlet asks if The Doctor likes Clara before the woman seems to come out of her trance, asking if The Doctor is alright. Realizing what's happening, The Doctor rushes back out to Clara finding her safe. Clara needs to set up a username, deciding on Oswin.

"Oswin, just like the other Claras that died," Wilf realized as the past viewers looked at the screen confused.

"The more this goes on, the more confusing it gets," Martha muttered.

"It'll make sense eventually," Jane promised although it was obvious to all of them that she didn't sound pleased by this.

The Doctor remembers Oswin before rushing back inside. Using the woman from before, Kizlet tells The Doctor to take a look around the café. Kizlet takes control of a little girl and is able to freeze the people in the room by saying 'stop'. But The Doctor is unimpressed, saying he saw what they can do last night as Kizlet unfreezes the people. Using a news anchor on the telly, Kizlet explains to The Doctor they can hack anyone as long as they've been exposed to the Wi-Fi long enough.

"They really have turned the internet into a weapon," Martha said horrified.

"The question is how do we stop them?" Jack noted as he continued to watch intently, hoping he could find a weak point to exploit.

The Doctor realizes they're close as Kizlet reveals they've released thousands into the world. At the office, the webcams go off, taking the employees pictures as its revealed Clara is behind them, taking a picture of each of them.

"She really did find them," Mickey said in disbelief.

"Well it makes sense. Her computer knowledge came from them, so it stands to reason that it would be well beyond that of what an ordinary human would know," Jack noted.

"I'm just worried about what the Space Siren can do with all that knowledge," Martha said uneasily.

"I doubt it'll be anything good," Donna said darkly, only being able to imagine the havoc it could wreck.

The Doctor begins threatening her when Kizlet assures him she has no intention of harming humanity, as her client feeds on human minds. The Doctor calls this murder but Kizlet argues it's no different than a farmer killing livestock as needed.

"Oi! We're not pigs!" Donna said angrily.

"To someone like her, we would seem like it," Jack noted, thinking of many people like Kizlet he had encountered in his long life. "Cast off morality for power and greed and this is what you become."

As the office scrambles to figure out whose taking pictures of them and why, Clara runs the pictures through various social media sites. One of Kizlet's employees figures out someone is using their pictures and social media accounts to determine where they work as Clara sees they work at 'The Shard'.

"The Shard," Jack muttered, filling that information away to use when they returned to the present.

"She actually did it," Donna said in disbelief.

"Blimey," Mickey muttered.

"Looks like you were right Jack," Martha noted and Jack nodded, his mind completely focused on the recording.

The Doctor declares he will end this, demanding to know who Kizlet's client is. Kizlet is then interrupted by an employee, informing her there's a problem. The Doctor walks out to Clara as she stops typing; informing him she's found the Shard, telling them they're on floor 65. Clara realizes it's not The Doctor when he keeps repeating what she's saying back to her. The Doctor's head turns around to reveal the device in the back of his head before it glows. At The Shard, Alexei downloads Clara and tells Kizlet they have her.

"Ah bloody Hell," Martha said as she and Donna groaned.

"There's always a setback, isn't there?" Mickey muttered as they all watched tense, knowing what would happen now.

The Doctor exits the café, seeing Clara slumped over and his robotic double. Its head turns back around and Clara's face is there, calling out for him. The Doctor pulls out his screwdriver as, at the Shard, Kizlet notes there's no point in keeping her as a hostage, as even The Doctor would know that Clara can't be downloaded again. But Alexei informs her that The Doctor is coming. Kizlet is in disbelief as they see various photos of The Doctor on his motorcycle heading towards The Shard. One of her employees suggests stopping him but Kizlet thinks this could be 'funny'.

"They're really so confident he can't stop them," Martha noted, smiling in amusement at their hubris.

"They have no idea who they're dealing with," Mickey said with a smirk.

"There's a reason the saying is 'pride before the fall'," Jack noted as they all watched, eager to see what The Doctor would do next.

The Doctor pulls up outside The Shard building and Kizlet speaks through a man eating, saying a motorbike doesn't seem like him. But The Doctor says he rode it in the Anti-Grav Olypics, 2074, although he came last. Kizlet warns him the building is on lockdown but The Doctor pushes a button on the handles. The Doctor then drives up to the building and to the disbelief of everyone, drives right up the side towards the top.

"Blimey Boss," Mickey muttered, staring at the screen in disbelief.

"He would create a motorbike with an anti gravity setting," Donna said, laughing at The Doctor's antics.

"He just can never do things halfway," Martha said, shaking her head with fond exasperation.

The Doctor turns on his screwdriver and Kizlet and her employees hear glass shattering. Kizlet is informed that was her office and Kizlet calmly walks into her office to see the motorbike on its side and The Doctor sitting at her desk. He demands they download Clara back into her body but Kizlet says that's impossible without downloading all of the souls, which would kill most of them. But The Doctor points out they'd be released from a living Hell.

"I guess if he can't save everyone, at least he can free them from being trapped there," Martha said with a heavy sigh, the doctor in her hating that The Doctor couldn't save them all.

"There's a natural order to things, which these people have disrupted. Even The Doctor knows better than to play God. The only thing he can do is set them free," Wilf reasoned and, after a moment, Martha nodded.

"Guess you're right. Doesn't make it any easier," Martha said, sighing as Mickey wrapped an arm around her.

"It never does," Jack said lowly as they continued watching the recording.

The Doctor tells her to give the order, or he's going to 'motivate' her. Kizlet scoffs, asking why he even came here. But The Doctor reveals he's still at the café, finishing his coffee. At the café, The Doctor presses a button and The Doctor at The Shard turns his head around, revealing it's the robot. Kizlet steps back in terror as a bright glow fills her office.

"Blimey. Bold move Boss," Mickey said as the past viewers stared at the screen startled.

"Smart. He knew only she had the authority to make that order. It's actually pretty genius," Jack noted, impressed with The Doctor's plan. "And he used their own weapon against them."

"But what if the other members of The Shard don't cooperate?" Donna asked uncertainly and Jane smiled.

"Don't worry, Dad has that handled."

Now part of the wall of souls, Kizlet demands they download her. Alexei argues to another employee, Mahler that they can't do that without downloading the entire cloud. Using the tablet, the robot Doctor increases Mahler's obedience and Mahler says to follow her orders. Alexei releases the trapped souls and The Doctor closes the laptop, stroking Clara's hair as she starts to come around. He walks off just before Clara opens her eyes.

"Once again, the day is saved thanks to The Doctor," Mickey said, impersonating a narrator and Martha rolled her eyes fondly before lightly slapping Mickey's shoulder at his antics.

"Well done Doctor," Jack said impressed.

"But the real threat is still out there," Donna said worriedly, thinking of the client. "Whoever Kizlet was working for. Who are they?"

"Just wait a moment and you'll understand," Jane said softly and the past viewers watched the screen curiously.

At The Shard, UNIT has entered the building and has taken control. Kizlet watches fearfully from her office as her employees are rounded up before informing her client on the screen UNIT is here. Her client informs her that UNIT is an old friend of The Doctor and Kizlet notes she's failed, identifying her client as the Great Intelligence.

"The voice that was in the snow globe," Wilf remembered as they looked at the screen sharply.

"I told you it would be back," Jane reminded them.

"Yeah, but we weren't expecting it this soon," Donna muttered.

"It's more dangerous than we thought then," Jack muttered as he narrowed his eyes, wondering how they could possibly fight it.

The Great Intelligence assures he has grown strong from consuming minds but now she must reduce. "You've been whispering in my ear so long, I'm not sure I remember what I was before," Kizlet says. The Great Intelligence wishes her goodbye and she pushes a 'restore factory settings' icon on her tablet. The employees captured by UNIT all go down to their knees, screaming as they hold their heads. After a few moments, they all get up, none of them seeming to have any memory of working for The Shard.

"Did she just –she just erased their memories!" Donna exclaimed and Jane nodded.

"She wiped out all their memories from before they came under the influence of the Great Intelligence," Jane confirmed.

"Good Lord," Wilf said horrified as the past viewers looked at the screen in disbelief.

"What else can it?" Mickey asked uneasily.

"I think a better question is what can't it do?" Jack asked darkly as they all eyed the screen uneasily.

UNIT then enters Kizlet's office to find her on the floor. They demand she identify herself as she looks around in confusion. "Where are my Mummy and Daddy?"

"My God. It's been influencing Kizlet since she was a little girl," Martha said as the past viewers stared horrified.

"Children are very impressionable. Like with Walter, Kizlet was perfect for the Great Intelligence to mold into his weapon," Jack said darkly, realizing the Great Intelligence's plan.

Back at Clara's, Clara is with the family when she sees the TARDIS outside. She walks out and knocks on the door, The Doctor telling her to come in. She enters and finds The Doctor reading a book, wearing Amy's reading glasses. The Doctor notes she never answered his question that she doesn't seem like a nanny. Clara explains she was going to travel and came to stay with the family for a week. The Doctor realizes the mother died during that week and now Clara is returning the favor. The Doctor points out Clara still keeps her book of '101 places to see' and Clara says she's still going to see all of them. "But you don't run out on the people you care about," The Doctor notes. "Wish I was more like that."

"You're always there when we need you Spaceman. Don't be too hard on yourself," Donna said softly.

"I call, you always come running," Martha said with a slight smile.

"But you know Dad. No one does guilt better than him," Jane shrugged as they all stared at the screen sadly.

The Doctor offers to take Clara with him, promising he can get her back in time for tea. Clara laughs, asking if he does this often, taking people away in his 'snog box'. They bicker about her calling it that and Clara says she'll be the judge of whether it is or isn't a snog box. "Starting when?" The Doctor asks. Clara tells him to come back tomorrow and she might say yes then. As she heads out the door, telling The Doctor to pick her up around 7, he asks about the leaf in her book. "That wasn't a leaf. That was page 1," Clara says before heading out the door. The Doctor turns away, musing it's time to find out who Clara really is before heading over to the TARDIS and pulling the lever.

"So now the girl possessed by the Siren is his traveling Companion," Donna said uneasily as the screen went black.

"Yeah. And it was the beginning of the end for Dad and the universe," Jane said with a heavy sigh.

No one else said a word, simply staring at the screen uneasily as the next recording started.

Not the best episode of the season, but certainly not the worst. I don't feel very strongly about it one way or the other, although The Doctor riding his motorcycle into Kizlet's office and using her own resources against her was awesome.
