TW: That's what I was going for.

Gallifrey 22.3: Thanks.

At a mansion on a stormy night, a woman walks into a room where a man is surrounded by various scanners and radios is sitting. They have a brief discussion about the equipment before the man asks if the woman wants to do this. The woman says she does, as 'she's so lonely'. Although clearly dismayed, the man says excellent and sits down to begin.

"Well this is confusing," Mickey mentioned as the past viewers look confusing.

"Some sort of scientific experiment perhaps?" Wilf suggested.

"Maybe," Jack said although he felt there was something off about this.

The man puts on some headphones and speaks into a microphone. "Caliburn House. Night 4. November 25th, 1974. 11:04 pm." The man then picks up a device resembling a satellite dish as the woman walks forward, calling out to the spirit inhabiting the house. As she speaks, the man hears a thud and one of his machines begins recording data.

"So they're what, ghost hunters?" Martha asked in disbelief.

"It's like that American TV program. What's it called, Ghost Adventures?" Donna tried to remember.

"Come on, why are we seeing this? I think we can all agree that ghosts don't exist," Mickey rolled his eyes.

"Don't be so closed minded Mickey," Jack said and Mickey looked at him in disbelief.

"You're not telling me you've seen ghosts to?" Mickey asked skeptically and Jack shrugged.

"I've seen things that defy all rational explanation. Why should we dismiss ghosts when there's so much of the universe we don't understand?" Jack asked pointedly.

Not having a comeback, Mickey turned back to the screen, still determined not to buy into the ghost theory.

The man then hears a loud noise on the headphones and is forced to take them off as the woman begins backing up, a presence seeming to come for her. The man takes several pictures, capturing a white, ghostly figure.

"Still think there's no such thing as ghosts?" Jack asked, smirking at Mickey's dumbfounded face.

"It can't be," Mickey muttered as the other past viewers had matching looks of shock on their face.

"Blimey," Donna almost whispered.

The woman gasps before using a nearby chair to support herself. The man checks on her before they hear a knocking on the door. They make their way over to the front door and open it. "Boo!" The Doctor says as he jumps out, startling them.

"Bloody Hell!" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers almost jumped.

"Not funny Boss!" Mickey snapped annoyed.

"I don't know, it's pretty funny from where I'm sitting," Jane said amused, laughing as five pairs of eyes glared at her.

"You are definitely his kid," Martha grumbled annoyed.

The Doctor says he's looking for a ghost and the man asks who he is. "Ghostbusters," Clara says as she steps into view.

"Okay, have to admit, that was funny," Mickey said with an amused smile.

"Honestly, Clara herself isn't so bad. It's the Siren that's the problem," Jane noted.

"Problem is how to get it out of her?" Donna wondered and no one had an answer.

The Doctor introduces himself and Clara, briefly showing his psychic paper before heading inside, excitedly checking out the equipment. He knows the man is Major Alec Palmer, geeking out over meeting him as he lists Alec's many accomplishments. The woman argues Alec spent most of the war as a POW but The Doctor dismisses this as a lie before identifying the woman as Emma Grayling, Alec's companion and an empathic psychic.

"Psychic? You mean they're real?" Martha asked in disbelief as Jane and Jack nodded.

"Some humans are born with a unique gift, an ability to sense things that normal people can't. Call it mystical or a genetic mutation, some humans just have a gift that others do not," Jack explained as the other past viewers looked on, intrigued.

"So this Alec Palmer is a secret agent of some kind?" Wilf wondered.

"Some people who serve don't have their work announced. Sometimes it's for their own protection," Jane explained and Wilf nodded as the recording continued.

Alec tells Emma The Doctor is military intelligence and The Doctor claims he and Clara were sent by the ministry to see that everything is in order. The Doctor promises to be out of their hair in five minutes before he begins geeking out over some of Alec's equipment. The Doctor pulls out his screwdriver and scans the room, determining that Alec and Emma haven't been exposed to 'life threatening transmundane emanations'.

"Half the time, I think he just makes this all up," Mickey said dryly.

"Would not surprise me. That is very him," Donna said with fond exasperation.

The Doctor then picks a candle, demanding they show him the ghost when they hear a loud bang. "It's ghost time."

"And how long have you been waiting to use that one Spaceman?" Donna asked with a laugh at his terrible pun.

The Doctor walks through the house with Alec angrily saying he won't allow his work to be stolen by the queen, as this is his house. Clara is surprised by this, calling Alec brave for buying it. The Doctor assures Alec he just wants to know what's going on and, although annoyed, Alec agrees. Sometime later, Alec is putting together a board of pictures as Emma explains to Clara how her abilities work. The Doctor notes empathic psychics are the most compassionate and lonely people ever, rambling a bit, not noticing he's making Emma uncomfortable. Clara shushes him as Alec completes the board, asking if The Doctor would like to have a look.

"Spaceman, you're a dumbo," Donna said bluntly as Martha slapped her forehead.

"Doctor, try to have a little more tact," Martha said in exasperation.

"You know how he gets. Sometimes he gets so excited he forgets about people's feelings," Jane shrugged.

The Doctor, Clara and Emma walk over as Alec explains that, while the house is only 4 centuries old, the ghost, the specter of a woman, has been seen on the site for much longer and the sound of knocking has been attributed to her arrival. As she looks at the pictures, Clara realizes the ghost is always in the same position. Alex explains that recording equipment can't capture the ghost and The Doctor realizes this is why Alec needs Emma. As Emma stares at the pictures, she says the ghost knows she's here and is calling out to her. Clara asks what she's saying. "Help me." Behind them, a figure passes by the doorway but none of them notice.

"You all saw that right?" Donna asked shocked and got several disbelieving nods.

"Doesn't mean it's a ghost," Mickey insisted, still refusing to accept it.

"Were you always this stubborn?" Jack wondered and Mickey glared at him.

Remembering Alec calling the ghost 'The Witch of the well', The Doctor asks about the well. Alex explains they couldn't find any well on the plans of the property.

"Well that's strange," Donna noted as they watched intrigued.

"So why is she called Witch of the Well?" Martha wondered.

Clara becomes frightened by the lightning strikes and refuses to go look for the ghost with The Doctor. When he gestures that he wants her to come with him, Clara reluctantly walks out with him after The Doctor dares her. Before they leave, Emma tells them the music room is the heart of the house. As they walk through the house, The Doctor explains they're going to ask the ghost how she came to be if they find her. As they round a corner, neither The Doctor nor Clara notice something walk out of the shadows.

"That obviously wasn't a ghost," Jack noted as the past viewers began to feel uneasy.

"So what was it?" Mickey asked fearfully but no one had an answer.

As The Doctor and Clara begin examining the kitchen, Alec and Emma discuss The Doctor, both agreeing he's a liar. Emma alludes to having feelings for Alec and reaches out to take his hand but he pulls back, giving an excuse before walking out of the room.

"Ouch," Martha winced in sympathy for Emma as Donna sighed.

"Unrequited love always hurts," Jack agreed, thinking of Owen and Tosh.

The Doctor and Clara arrive in the music room and The Doctor begins scanning the room. He asks if Clara feels anything and she denies it but The Doctor accuses her of lying. As The Doctor continues scanning the room, he and Clara agree they feel like they're being watched. As The Doctor walks towards the door, Clara hears floorboards creaking behind her and The Doctor realizes he can see his breath. "I think she's here," Clara says.

"The temperature just…dropped?" Martha asked in disbelief.

"Unexplained dropping in temperatures, something they can't see and an unknown creature stalking The Doctor. Still think there's no such thing as ghosts?" Jack asked Mickey dryly.

"The universe is full of things that don't make sense," Mickey said stubbornly and Jack rolled his eyes.

"Bloody ghosts aside, whatever's happening in that house is clearly not normal," Donna noted as the group watched curiously, wondering what was going on.

The Doctor realizes there is a cold spot in the room and draws a circle around it before walking out of the room. Clara follows after him and one of Alec's machines begins recording data. As Alec inspects it, a mist rises from the cold spot.

"And now mist is coming out of the floor. It's like a bloody horror a film," Donna said, wondering if she'd finally snapped.

"I know we've said things don't make sense about these recordings, but this is ridiculous," Martha muttered, wondering what on Earth was going on.

The Doctor and Clara hear some loud bangs before the candles are blown out. Emma joins Alec as they realize the house is getting colder. The windows begin to freeze as Emma and Alex hear the banging as well. "She's coming."

The past viewers tensed as they watched uneasily, wondering what 'she' would do now.

The Doctor and Clara wonder what's making the noise before they hear it again. Clara tells him while she's terrified, he doesn't need to hold her hand. But The Doctor points out he's not. They look behind them and lighting illuminates the corridor, showing a figure behind them.

"Shit!" Mickey exclaimed as the past viewers stared in horror.

The Doctor and Clara run, making it down the stairs and reuniting with Alec and Emma. In a flash of light, a black disc hovering in the air appears.

"What the bloody Hell is that?!" Donna exclaimed.

"I don't know, but I don't like the look of it," Martha said uneasily.

"Jack, please tell me you've seen something like this before," Mickey almost pleaded.

"I can honestly say I am as clueless as you," Jack to the dismay of the others.

"I guess now we know what this 'well' is," Wilf muttered as they continued to watch.

After confirming with Alec this has never happened before, The Doctor borrows Alec's camera and takes a picture of it. While the disk begins to crack, facing the other way, Emma sees the ghost, who appears to be standing in what seems to be a forest. Clara alerts The Doctor to this and he turns around, taking a picture of the ghost. "Help me!" it cries before it fades with the forest. Emma then passes out and Alec catches her. Hearing a noise, Clara looks over and alerts The Doctor to something. He and Alec look over and The Doctor climbs up the steps, staring at the words 'help me', which have been imprinted onto the wallpaper. The words fade just before the disk vanishes.

"What the bloody Hell just happened?" Mickey asked as the past viewers stared at the screen, having trouble comprehending what had happened.

"I believe the ghost just tried to make contact," Wilf noted.

"I think Mickey might be right, I'm not so sure it is a ghost anymore," Jack mused and they all looked at him in disbelief.

"You saw what just bloody happened!" Donna shouted.

"And I also saw the disk that appeared in the room and the ghost trapped in a forest. I can't say for certain that this isn't something supernatural, but I believe the ghost or whatever is might be trapped somewhere and is reaching out for help," Jack mused.

"And the fact that the ghost has appeared for centuries?" Martha asked and Jack shrugged.

"Still working that out," Jack admitted.

"It'll all make sense eventually. Just keep watching," Jane promised.

Later, Clara and Emma are having a glass of whiskey but both agree they'd prefer tea. Clara notices Emma is rattled as, in a Darkroom; The Doctor makes conversation with Alec about his operations during the war. Alec is dismissive, saying what he did was no more than millions of others and he was just lucky to come back. The Doctor asks how he ended up here and Alec, ashamed, says he killed during the war, having sent young men and women to their deaths while he still lives. Alec notes it haunts him.

"It always does," Jack noted haunted, remembering the many lives he'd taken over his life.

Martha looked at him concerned but Jack didn't say anything else, just continued watching the screen as the recording continued.

Clara asks Emma about her relationship with Alec and Emma admits she thinks she may be feeling from Alec what she wants him to feel rather than what he actually feels. Clara assured her Alec does and that it's obvious.

"He might as well be wearing a jersey with 'I fancy you' sewn across the front in big letters," Donna said dryly.

"He is not very subtle," Martha agreed with a slight smile.

"He reminds me of myself when I first met your grandmother," Wilf told Donna with a chuckled, thinking back on those memories fondly.

Alec explains to The Doctor he wouldn't have minded dying in order to defeat the enemy. The Doctor asks what he'd say to the people who did die and Alec admits he'd thank them. The Doctor hangs a picture of himself standing next to the ghost, admitting he thought she'd be fun. The Doctor requests to borrow Alec's camera and Alec hands it over before The Doctor walks out. Emma asks if Clara is involved with The Doctor and she says no. Emma warns Clara not to trust The Doctor. "There's a sliver of ice in his heart." Clara is surprised by this before she hears The Doctor calling for her.

Donna bit her tongue. She wanted to defend her friend, but she couldn't really disagree with Emma. It was why she had initially refused to go traveling with The Doctor.

"She's good," Jack noted, impressed by how much Emma was able to see about The Doctor. "And powerful."

"Let's just hope her lack of trust in him doesn't cause problems," Martha muttered.

The Doctor and Clara head out of the mansion and towards the TARDIS. Clara admits she feels like the TARDIS doesn't trust her and The Doctor assures her it's slow to trust at first.

"Well maybe because it knows you're possessed by a Space Siren who wants to kill The Doctor," Donna said dryly and the TARDIS seemed to 'Vwoorp' in agreement.

"You tried to protect him, to warn him," Martha realized sadly.

"Unfortunately, Dad didn't understand her warnings until too late," Jane said with a sigh.

"It won't be this time. We'll stop it," Jack promised and Jane smiled weakly.

"I hope so Jack. For all our sakes."

The Doctor heads into the TARDIS and Clara looks back at the mansion before rushing over, knocking on the door. The Doctor lets her in before heading back to the console. Clara mentions he needs a place to keep umbrellas and The Doctor mentions he did have one before Clara begins shaking the rain off her umbrella. The Doctor scolds her, saying the TARDIS won't like her if she keeps getting it wet. Clara awkwardly apologizes to the TARDIS and it lets out a metal groan.

"Apparently both the Siren and Clara are on the TARDIS's list," Jack said amused as Mickey snickered.

Clara asks where they're going and The Doctor says nowhere if he can do it right. Clara realizes they're going forward in time and The Doctor laughs before saying they're going to 'always'. The Doctor and Clara bicker about that as he comes back with an orange jumpsuit, which Clara insults. As the TARDIS dematerializes, Alec and Emma watch from the window, Alec wondering where they went. A lightning strike reveals the ghost standing next to them.

"Blimey," Mickey muttered as the past viewers watched the screen unnerved.

"Hopefully whatever The Doctor finds out will give him some clue about what's going on," Martha said as the recording continued.

The TARDIS materializes on a molten, barren wasteland. The Doctor walks out in the jumpsuit, scanning the area with his screwdriver before taking a picture.

"So that's Earth at the beginning then," Wilf realized.

"At the spot where the mansion will be one day," Jane confirmed.

"So how can the ghost be there?" Donna wondered and Jane smiled.

"Spoilers."

The Doctor reenters the TARDIS, warning Clara not to touch him as the suit steams. The Doctor says they've traveled six million years into the past. There is then a montage of The Doctor and Clara taking pictures at the site at various points in time before The Doctor puts on the jumpsuit again. He walks out, warning Clara not to touch anything and not to move before walking back out. He now stands in a barren wasteland.

"So that's…" Martha trailed off as the past viewers realized where The Doctor.

"Earth, after all the remaining humans had fled and Earth was unlivable," Jane confirmed as the past viewers all stared at the screen, in a bit of disbelief.

"Nothing lasts forever, not even Earth," Jack said, not as affected as the others due to being born somewhere other than Earth, but it still wasn't easy to see.

"Easy for you to say, Immortal Man," Donna muttered.

"Everything ends eventually. It's what gives life meaning, doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy it while it lasts," Jane said kindly.

No one said anything, most of them still trying to process what they were seeing as the recording continues.

The Doctor takes a picture as Clara watches on the scanner. The Doctor walks back onto the TARDIS and notices Clara seems upset. Clara is upset about seeing that Earth will eventually die and when The Doctor admits her body is likely out there in the ground somewhere, she accuses The Doctor of seeing humanity as ghosts.

"Oi! You really don't know him at all," Donna said angrily.

"To be fair, The Doctor does kind of see her as a ghost after seeing two versions of her die," Martha mused. "Not that you're wrong. She doesn't know him at all."

The Doctor assures her he doesn't; saying humanity is the only mystery worth solving. The TARDIS rematerializes and, inside the house, the creature that stalked The Doctor and Clara is seen watching from a window.

"And that thing is back," Mickey muttered as they watched the screen uneasily.

"Not sure which is worse. The ghost or whatever that is," Donna muttered uncomfortably.

As The Doctor and Clara rejoin Alec and Emma, Emma notices Clara is upset. Clara says she just saw something she wishes she hadn't: that everything ends. Emma disagrees, saying love never ends as she looks at Alec longingly.

"She's got it bad for him," Jack noted.

"Makes Tosh with Owen look tame by comparison," Martha said and Jack smiled sadly.

"Yeah," Jack said softly, thinking back to his old friends.

The Doctor then shows them a slide of the ghost, proposing that the ghost isn't trapped in a moment of fear, but that she's trapped somewhere that runs at a slower time than earth. The Doctor explains that while thousands of years could pass for them, only a second could pass for the ghost. The snapshots The Doctor took earlier are then seen and the ghost's full image is finally revealed, revealing a young woman with dark hair and skin dressed in white clothes.

"Shit," Jack said as he stared at the screen in disbelief.

"What? You know her?" Martha asked as the past viewers looked at Jack, thrown by his reaction.

"Only from the history books. She's a legend," Jack said in disbelief.

"Dad explains in a moment," Jane said before they could press Jack further.

The Doctor identities the woman as Hila Tacorien, a time traveler from a few centuries in the future. Alec scoffs at time travel but The Doctor assures him the paradoxes have been resolved. Emma asks how long Hila has been alone and The Doctor explains from Hila's perspective, it's only been a few minutes since she crash landed, explaining Hila is trapped in a pocket dimension. The Doctor blows up a red balloon and a blue one, using them to represent Hila's universe and their own, explaining that Emma is guiding Hila back home.

"So that's what happened," Jack noted.

"Who is she exactly?" Martha asked as the other past viewers looked at Jack curiously.

"She was considered one of the greatest pilots in history when she appeared to have died when testing a new Time Ship. Although now we know she was just thrown into a pocket dimension," Jack explained as he stared at the screen. "I'm curious to see how The Doctor plans to save her."

Clara wonders what Hila is running from and The Doctor says they don't know, using his screwdriver on the projector. They all stare in shock at the slide, revealing the creature that's been stalking them.

"So the creature isn't after The Doctor and Clara," Wilf said as they realized what was really happening.

"All this time, it was stalking Hila," Donna whispered.

"But how can it both there and in the house?" Mickey wondered.

"It'll make sensei a bit," Jane promised.

Clara asks what that is and The Doctor admits he doesn't know but they shouldn't worry. Emma asks what they do but The Doctor reveals it's up to Emma, the rest of them are just along for the ride.

"No pressure or anything," Martha said dryly, wondering if Emma could actually do this.

The Doctor and Clara head back out to the TARDIS to get some supplies from Metebelis 3. Inside, Alec pleads with Emma not to do it, not wanting to risk Emma's life. Emma tells him to tell her what she's thinking. Alec says he doesn't have her gift but she says all he needs to do is look at her and tell her. Alec looks at her and an understanding seems to pass between them.

"Looks like they finally had that talk then," Jack noted.

"Sometimes people don't need to say the words to acknowledge how they feel about each other," Jane shrugged.

"I know the feeling," Martha said, smiling at Mickey before grabbing his hand gently.

On the TARDIS, Clara asks if The Doctor couldn't just fly the TARDIS into the pocket dimension but The Doctor explains the TARDIS would lose all power upon arriving there. Later, The Doctor preps a machine, a large cable stretching from the TARDIS and into the house. The Doctor places a device around Emma's head, explaining it will amplify her abilities. As The Doctor puts on a harness that's linked to the machine, he assures Alec all he needs to do is dive into the dimension, find Hila and get her back home before it collapses.

"Really, is that all?" Martha asked dryly.

"He always tries to make the most difficult tasks sound overly simple," Wilf noticed.

"To him, they probably seem that way," Jack shrugged.

Emma asks if it will hurt and The Doctor says no before admitting it will quite a bit. Emma becomes nervous but Alec gives an encouraging nod.

"Here we go then," Donna muttered as they all watched the screen uneasily.

Emma then calls out to Hila and the clocks begin going haywire. The disk then appears behind them as Emma winces it pain. The disk explodes and a bright light is seen as wind blows through the room. The Doctor explains the 'well' was a wormhole to the pocket dimension. After making sure Emma is ready, The Doctor rushes into it. The Doctor appears in the pocket dimension and takes off his harness and runs off. Reaching the edge of the dimension, The Doctor sees he's trapped in a forest.

"Well that explains why Hila seemed to be in a forest earlier," Jack noted.

"Yeah. Now all he has to do is find Hila and get out of there," Martha said softly, knowing it wouldn't be that easy.

"While avoiding whatever is after her to. Good luck Spaceman," Donna muttered worriedly as they watched the screen tense.

The Doctor runs off, calling out for Hila when he hears a noise. He pauses, counts to 3 and turns around, hearing the woman calling out for help. He runs forward and nearly collides with Hila.

"Well that was surprisingly easy," Jack said as the past viewers stared at the screen in surprise.

"I doubt finding the way out will be as easy though," Martha noted, unable to shake the uneasy feeling that came over her.

The Doctor explains the situation quickly and they begin to run. Hila tells him there's something in the mist and he urges her to run. They reach the edge of the dimension and The Doctor realizes he's lost the exit.

"I hate being right," Martha groaned as they stared at the screen in dismay.

"Come on Spaceman, use that big brain of yours and figure a way out of this," Donna pleaded softly.

They hear the sound of the creature and The Doctor hears Emma. They begin heading towards her voice as, in the house, Emma is shouting for him. The house appears in the dimension, surprising Hila as The Doctor realizes Emma projected it into the dimension. The Doctor and Hila head into the house, locking the creature outside. It slams against the door and The Doctor and Hila run. Emma shouts she's not strong enough before wailing in pain.

"Just hold on a little longer," Donna pleaded as they all watched tense, hoping The Doctor could make it.

The Doctor and Hila reach the wormhole and The Doctor uses the screwdriver to lock the door, urging Hila to go. She puts on the harness and asks about him. He assures her he'll be right behind her and Hila tugs on the rope. Seeing this, Alec begins reeling her in.

"Hurry," Mickey urged softly, knowing time was not on their side.

Hila emerges in the house as, in the pocket dimension, the creature approaches the door. The Doctor approaches the wormhole as he hears the loud banging, realizing it was the creature all along. Before The Doctor can enter the wormhole, Emma passes out and it vanishes.

"No!" Donna wailed as the past viewers stared at the screen in horror.

"He's trapped over there, with that thing," Martha said horrified.

"Well he found a way out, otherwise we wouldn't have five more recordings to watch," Jack reminded them, although this did little to comfort any of them.

Clara is horrified as The Doctor takes a step, finding himself back in the forest. The Doctor hears the creature getting closer as the TARDIS dings. As the creature nears him, The Doctor runs.

"Run Boss. Put as much space between you and that thing as you can," Mickey whispered nervously, all them watching the screen as they held their breath, fearful for The Doctor.

Back at the house, Clara pleads with Emma to wake up and open the wormhole but Emma is too weak to do it. Alec tries to convince her to do it as Clara runs out to the TARDIS. She beats on the doors and a second Clara appears behind her.

"Is anyone else seeing a second Clara?" Wilf asked as the others started.

"Seeing it, not exactly sure what I'm seeing," Jack noted.

"It'll make sense in a minute," Jane assured them with a smile.

Alec tells Emma she brought him back from the dead and, her will strengthened, Emma gets up. Alec puts the device back on her head and she joins hands with him and Hila.

"She's strong," Martha noted all of them impressed by Emma's strength.

"And brave," Donna added.

"The best ones always are," Jack said lowly, thinking of his team and the many brave souls he'd encountered in his long life.

Outside, the second Clara explains she is the TARDIS voice interface, which has selected the image of Clara due to Clara herself esteeming herself. Although annoyed, Clara tries to urge the TARDIS to help The Doctor. The interface argues it would lose all power in second before vanishing. Clara, infuriated, bangs on the doors.

"I know I shouldn't laugh, but it's hilarious seeing Clara argue with herself," Mickey said with a snicker.

"Thinks awfully high of herself, doesn't she?" Jack noted.

"A lot of people at that age do," Jane shrugged.

In the house, Emma brings the disk back as, outside, the TARDIS opens the doors and Clara heads inside.

"Have to admit, didn't see that coming," Mickey said as the past viewers were surprised.

"As much as the TARDIS didn't trust Clara, she knew Clara was needed to save Dad. The devil you know, ya know?" Jane shrugged.

"Makes sense," Martha muttered as they continued watching.

In the pocket dimension, The Doctor is running as the TARDIS flies through the time vortex, Clara hanging on for dear life as Emma calls out to The Doctor from the house. The Doctor hears Emma before seeing the wormhole. He rushes towards it before hearing the creature.

"And of bloody course it catches up to them at that moment," Donna said as she, Martha and Mickey groaned while Wilf and Jack watched the screen uneasily.

The Doctor wonders what the creature wants, looking around for it wildly. The creature steps into view as Emma shouts for The Doctor to hurry. The Doctor wonders why the creature hasn't eaten him and realizes it wants to use him to get to the other world. "Come on then big boy. Chase me," The Doctor says before running towards the wormhole. The creature knocks The Doctor on his back and begins advancing towards him.

"You just had to challenge it, didn't you Spaceman?" Donna grumbled as they watched fearfully.

"You know Dad, never met an enemy he didn't want to challenge," Jane pointed out.

"Well keep your bloody ego in check," Martha snapped.

The TARDIS then appears in the sky and spins down, striking the creature and getting it away from The Doctor. The Doctor runs towards the TARDIS, grabbing onto it. Emma screams in agony before the TARDIS materializes out of the wormhole.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but thanks Clara," Martha said as they all breathed a sigh of relief.

"Like I said, Clara's not so bad herself. She actually wants to help Dad. It's the Siren that's the problem," Jane said, a dark look crossing her face. "That's what you need to worry about."

Emma falls to her knees, gasping as Clara exits the TARDIS. The Doctor walks over and checks Emma over. The next morning, The Doctor watches as Clara walks out onto the front lawn. Emma walks up behind him, knowing he wanted a word and being okay with it. Emma knows he didn't come here for the ghost, but for her. The Doctor asks Emma about Clara and Emma tells him Clara is perfectly ordinary.

"So he came for information about Clara," Wilf realized and Jane nodded.

"Unfortunately, the Siren realized this, retreated so far into Clara that Emma would never be able to sense it and couldn't warn Dad," Jane sighed as they watched the screen in dismay.

"It's devious, I'll give it that," Donna said darkly.

"It hasn't met us yet," Jack said, a dark look on his face as he stared at the screen, wondering how they could defeat such an enemy.

Later, The Doctor, Hila and Emma exchange a hug and Emma asks what Hila will do. Since history says she went missing, Hila can't go home. Emma argues The Doctor can change history and he argues that he can't before Clara drags him off. Emma and Hila notice a familiarity and The Doctor explains that Hila is descended from Emma and Alec, surprising Alec as he walks up and The Doctor realizes he's said too much.

"Now it all makes sense," Jack said as the realization hit him. "Being a descendant of Emma, Hila must have latent psychic abilities. When she became trapped, she began calling out from the pocket dimension and Emma picked it up."

"That is…ridiculous," Donna said in disbelief.

"As ridiculous as anything else that we've seen," Martha shrugged.

The Doctor realizes this is why the psychic link between Emma and Hila was so powerful. As The Doctor walks towards the TARDIS, Alec stops him, asking about him and Emma and what they do now. The Doctor says they merely need to hold hands. As The Doctor walks towards the TARDIS, he hits his head, exclaiming he's so slow. The others look at him confused as The Doctor asks how sharks make babies. Clara says carefully but The Doctor disagrees, saying happily. The Doctor runs out towards the front of the mansion, saying every monster needs a companion. Clara realizes they haven't been dealing with one monster, but two, seeing one pass through a window. "It's the oldest story in the universe. This one or any other. Boy and girl fall in love; get separated by events, war, politics, accidents and time. She's thrown out of the hex or he's thrown into it. Since then, they've been yearning for each other across time and space, across dimensions. This isn't a ghost story, it's a love story," The Doctor explains.

"Bloody Hell," Mickey muttered as the past viewers stared at the screen in disbelief.

"So that thing wanted to come here so it could…mate with the other one?" Donna asked, sounding disgusted at the thought.

"That's kind of sweet actually," Martha noted.

"Also disturbing as Hell," Mickey muttered.

The Doctor then runs up to Emma, saying he has a favor to ask. The Doctor is then shown flying back into the pocket dimension in the harness. He then runs through the forest, calling out to the creature and promising to take it to the other one, to a place where they can be together. Hearing a noise behind him, The Doctor turns to see the creature.

"Well that is one ugly monster," Mickey declared as they got a look at it.

"And The Doctor's playing matchmaker," Martha noted. "This is really weird."

"You're telling me," Donna muttered.

The Doctor greets it happily before they hear the sound of the TARDIS. The TARDIS emerges from the vortex and moves towards The Doctor and the creature. "Get ready to jump," The Doctor says before the screen goes black.

"Well I guess that's another one down," Jack noted. "These keep getting weirder."

"Oh trust me, the next one is plenty weird," Jane said with a smile.

"Brilliant," Martha said sarcastically as the next recording.

An okay episode I guess. Not very good IMO but it gets a few points over the previous two due to the fact it doesn't feel like a rip off an earlier episode.
