It's the big day! Elizabeth barely slept last night due to the excitement and nervousness of this date. The date was still not for a few hours so she had time to do her normal schedule.
"Hey there, Little Jack," Elizabeth said to her son as he was waking up. "Later today, Auntie Rosemary will come over and you guys will play and have so much fun!" Elizabeth said as she was changing him.
Elizabeth heard a knock on the door. "Elizabeth, it's me," Rosemary says while at Elizabeth's door. "Come in, Rosemary," Elizabeth said wait for her lovely friends to come in.
"Elizabeth, hi!" Rosemary said excited. "Hi Rosemary. What are you doing here?" Elizabeth asked. "I'm here to see you and of course Little Jack. Today's your big day!"
"Rosemary, it's not a big day. I'm just going on a date," Elizabeth corrected her friend.
"Oh Elizabeth, this is the biggest of days! You're opening up your heart again. And to a very handsome mountie," Rosemary said. "He's handsome? I haven't noticed," Elizabeth teased her friend.
"Haha, very funny," Rosemary looks at Elizabeth's hand. "You took of your wedding ring?" Rosemary asked, very surprised. "Yes, it was time. I couldn't begin my relationship with Nathan if I still wore my wedding ring," Elizabeth said.
"Wow Elizabeth! Second time in a week you get the I'm so proud of you speech! Seriously, Elizabeth, I am so proud of you! You are truly opening up your heart again!" Rosemary said ecstatic.
"Aww, thank you Rosemary," Elizabeth said. "You're welcome Elizabeth!"
Over at the oil company, Lucas was working. He now had two businesses to run and was completely stressed. Gustave was running the saloon for a little while, so Lucas could work here. First and foremost he had to get an employee who could partially run this place when he was at the saloon. He kept thinking and didn't even notice Fiona walk in.
Hey there Lucas," Fiona said as Lucas nearly jumps from his seat. "Hi Fiona. What can I do for you?" Lucas asked hoping for a certain answer to solve his problems.
"I heard you are now running two businesses," Fiona said. "Yes, I am," Lucas answered confused. "And you need help," Fiona asked, implying something. "Yes, I do. Fiona, I know what you're saying. Yes, you are hired to work at the oil business. But, I doubt you know anything about oil," Lucas implied.
"No, I do not know much about oil. But, I am a hard worker and am sure I can learn in a jiffy," Fiona said confident.
"You're hired. You start tomorrow. Go to the library and read all the books about oil," Lucas said. "I will certainly do that. Thank you Lucas. Bye," Fiona said before exiting.
I can't believe I'm just noticing how gorgeous Fiona is. That beautiful dark brown hair and those stunning brown eyes. Lucas, stop it. You two will be working together. Keep things professional.
The date is only in a couple of hours and I still don't know what I'm doing. Since the date was at 6:00, I was thinking of eating food by the pond and then watching the sunset. Sounds good right? I don't know, I've not been on a date in such a long time. I'll make the food and it'll be done in a little bit. Okay, that sounds good.
Allie sees her uncle running around all over the place and looking very confused. I bet it's because he's going on a date with Mrs.Thorton.
"Uncle Nathan. are you okay?" Allie asked. "Yes Allie, I'm fine," he said while looking around for ingredients and pots and pans. "Are you acting strange because you're going on a date with Mrs.Thorton?" Allie asked.
How in the world does she know about that?
"How do you know about that?" Nathan asked, very curious to hear her answer. "Florence and Molly. They found out but eavesdropping and told the whole town," Allie responded.
Oh, of course FloMo. You can't keep a secret in this town without them finding out and telling the whole town. Not that it's a secret, I just didn't necessarily want the whole town to know," Nathan commented.
"You call them FloMo?" Allie asked confused. "Yes, but don't call them that. Refer to them as Molly and Florence," Nathan replied, hoping she would listen. "Okay, sure, Uncle Nathan," Allie said sarcastically. "Well, I'm going to go to my room. Good luck!" Allie said before walking to her room.
Thanks Allie, I'm gonna need it. Why is cooking so hard?
It was an hour before the date. Rosemary was over to help Elizabeth get ready.
"Oh Rosemary. What am I going to wear? The location is a surprise so I don't know how I should dress," Elizabeth said, knowing her best friend will have an answer.
"Elizabeth, wear something casual. Also, a coat because it will be cold outside," Rosemary said to help out her friend. "Rosemary, what would I do without you?" Elizabeth went over to her closet to find her best casual dress and a cute coat.
"Perfect, thank you so much," Elizabeth said. "Now, let's go your hair and makeup," Rosemary said excited.
About 30 minutes have passed and Nathan would be arriving here any second. Rosemary curled Elizabeth's hair. She has chosen a simple makeup look for her date.
They heard a knock on the door. "He's here," Elizabeth said very quietly. She opened the door. Wow, he looked handsome.
Woke, she looked so beautiful. "Elizabeth, you look beautiful," he said, staring too much. "You don't look too bad yourself," she teased.
She walks up to Little Jack, who was being held by Rosemary. She hugs and kisses her son. "Bye my little man. You will have so much fun with Auntie Rosemary," she said. She looked back at her son and her friend before she headed out the door.
Elizabeth could see how patient Nathan was. He didn't rush her, like some people. Ahem, Lucas.
"So, where are we going?" Elizabeth said while walking to the secret destinations. "You'll see," he said.
There they were. They were at the pond. There was a little table with food on it. It all looked so beautiful.
"Wow, Nathan, this is beautiful," Elizabeth said amazed. "Thank you, Elizabeth. I hope you're hungry," Nathan said. "Starving," she said she they sat down at the table. They both started eating.
"Mhm, this food is so good. Did you make it?" Elizabeth asked. "Yes, I did. Well, I might have had a little help from Allie," Nathan replied shyly.
"Well, both of you are amazing cooks," Elizabeth complimented him and his niece. "Thank you, Elizabeth," Nathan thanked her.
Meanwhile at Elizabeth's house...
Rosemary was playing with Little Jack when she heard a knock on the door. "It's me," Lee said as he walked in.
She sees that he brought dinner. "Let Coulter, you made me supper?" Rosemary asked. "Yes, sweetheart. You are over here and watching Little Jack, and I thought you could use some food," Lee said.
"What a gentleman. Perfect timing because I was about to bring Little Jack upstairs to go to sleep," she says to her husband. She carries him upstairs and rocks him to sleep and puts him in his crib. She then comes back downstairs.
"Alright Lee, let's eat," she says as she's sitting down. The smell of onions is really making her sick. Maybe I need to...she runs to the bathroom.
"Rosie, are you okay?" he rushes to the bathroom to see what's going on. "Yeah, just the smell of onions made me vomit. That's never happened before, and I've been more tired recently.
"Hmm, weird. Wait do you think this means...," Lee said. "I'm pregnant!" Rosemary squeals and jumps up and down. "Ssh, don't wake up Little Jack," Lee said. "You're right. Thanks Lee," Rosemary said. "Let's go see Carson in the morning to see. Let's not tell people until we know for sure," Lee said.
"Okay, sounds good," Rosie said.
Back at the date, Elizabeth and Nathan had just been talking.
"It's almost sunset, let's go look," Nathan says. They walk closer to the pond and see the amazing sunset. The sunset was reflecting on to the pond. "Wow, this is beautiful," Elizabeth said starting at the sky.
"Elizabeth...," Nathan began. "Yes? Nathan said confused. "I would like to court you. If that's what you want," Nathan asked.
"Took you long enough. Yes, of course I will court you," Elizabeth said.
He walks her home. During the walk in silence, they were just thinking about what lies ahead.
I can't believe we're courting now. In just a matter of time we will be husband and wife. Woah, Nathan, slow down. We just began courting.
They show up at Elizabeth's house. "Thank you, Nathan. This was a wonderful evening." "You're welcome, Elizabeth," Nathan said.
He walks away. She has no idea what news she'll here when she walks in her house, and her best friends has no idea the news she's about to share.
