Everybody in the 1-A class was relaxing in the common room after class watching the news when Aizawa walked in with a moving bundle in his scarf.
"Hi Aizawa-Sensei, what do you have there? Is it Principal Nezu?" Midoriya asked, noticing the bundle.
Aizawa's eye twitched as the Problem Child was very observant in the teachers' personalities. "Not this time, Midoriya," He then reached his hand into the bundle and pulled out something with bluish-gray fur. "I found a stray kitten around the corner and I waited for its mother but it was abandoned. I am going to take care of the furball."
The kitten mewed and everyone in the room was awed at its cuteness, its green eyes glowing like it had been exposed to sunlight.
"Oh wow! Is that a Nebelung?" Koda suddenly said, causing the group around him to look at their friend like he grew a second head. He can talk!?
"From what I can see, yes. I figured you would know the breed, Koda." Aizawa said in amusement and handed the kitten to the boy. "You mind asking him where his mother is or where I can return it to the family?"
Koda nodded and took the kitten and started talking to it. It may take some time so everyone else was either looking at it or continued watching the tv. Bakugou looked to the side and noticed that his friend was looking a little weird, and he was avoiding eye contact with the furball.
"Oi, Shitty Hair. What's up?"
Kirishima tried to smile, but the blonde knew it was forced. "Y-yeah, bro, I'm fine. I-I just not a fan of cats."
Bakugou raised one of his eyebrows in surprise. "Why's that?"
Kirishima looked down in thought. "I don't know how, but a few years ago I developed a dislike of cats. They never harmed me or anything, but…it is their face that gives me the creeps."
Mineta suddenly laughed at Kirishima's fear. "Dude, it is a cat. Why the hell are you afraid of it?" Immediately he knew he said something stupid as Kaminari next to him whispered "Bro" and the girls around him were glaring daggers.
"Not cool man." Sero replied, shaking his head.
"What, I just think it is stupid." Mineta then got punched by Uraraka and Momo hung him upside down, creating a spiked bat next to him. It sounded heavy.
Kirishima went on the defensive, glaring at Mineta as well. "I can't help that my mind thinks they are evil. Have you seen those fangs!? They look like vampires!"
"I can definitely see a kind of resemblance, Kirishima-kun." Midoriya contemplated, "I think that is how some people derived the vampires from cats."
Kirishima pointed a finger at the greenette. "See?"
"Everybody has some sort of fear, some more than others, kero." Tsu said, "It could be from a trauma or like Kirishima, some kind of visual that may seem unnatural."
"Exactly," The red-head replied and then looked at the kitten who was now looking back at him with those glowing green eyes. He shuddered. "It also feels like it can see my soul."
Koda then gave the kitten back to Aizawa and gave him an answer. "He lost his mother in an attack. He is the only survivor."
Kirishima then looked at the cat in sorrow, his discomfort suddenly gone. "Oh, shit. I'm sorry kittybro."
"Meow." The kitten then jumped down and landed on Bakugou's lap, not going any closer as he could sense the boy's discomfort. He lay down on the blonde's lap and purred, showing that he was harmless.
"U-uh, hehe." Kirishima tensed a bit and close proximity, and with some hesitation, he lifted his hand and brought it to the kitten's nose. The Nebulong sniffed it for a few seconds and chirped.
"The kitten wants you to know that he won't harm you. He wants to be your friend." Koda replied, with a smile and a nod. "He just wants company."
Kirishima nodded and looked at the kitten again. His eyes were still glowing green but somehow the demeanor changed. It looked lonely. So, with resolve, he gently scratched his ear and in response the kitten leaned into it, chirping happily. Kirishima chuckled.
"I guess my fear was just stupid after all." He said and everybody cooed as he picked up the kitten and put it on his own lap. "I know you found the kitten, Aizawa Sensei, but can I name it Vlad? I think it would be cool for the ironic situation."
Aizawa chuckled and nodded. "I guess so, as he seemed to like the name as well."
Vlad the Nebulong, meowed in happiness, purring loudly as he was being scratched with the red-head's sharp claws.
