Hello Lads, Ladies and Lovelies! I hope you all enjoying this story so far as I have many ideas going through my head. I am bouts of anxiety through job searching and streaming, adulthood is just non stop and I hate it. XD Anyway I hope all of you have been well and enjoy.
Welcome To New York
Everyone is so glad to get out of a tense plane ride but is grateful to see the distant, beautiful view of New York itself, even the Statue Of Liberty herself. This is not a dream. He's actually here. He feels a nudge on the shoulder where he turns to see an annoyed Kevin behind him.
"Come on dork. I'm suppose to meet someone." Edd starts to follow him into the airport, about to start the conversation but decides against it. Him, Kevin and May are waiting for their luggage on the conveyor belt within the tension in the air again making the wait feel even longer. Edd can't help but sneak glances at kevin with the memory of him sleeping on his shoulder still fresh in his mind. Kevin can feel someone watching him and turn to see Edd looking at him, Edd's cheek goes light pink from being caught and just turn away. His eyes caught his luggage and immediately gab them and put them on his trolly. May and Kevin followed by to get their luggage and they go into the shopping area of the airport where it's packed by crowds of people. All they can do is look around, not used to the crowdedness of the area. Kevin turns to Edd and May,
"Ok, I'm meeting my cousin here who's picking me up, so if you guys could leave before he gets here, that would be great." May just scoffed,
"Don't worry, I need to go find a cab anyway, certainly don't want to give your cousin Kanker cooties," she said snarkly as she glares at Edd.
"And what about you dork?" He looks at Kevin with a sigh before he answered,
"Well I would like to meet your cousin but clearly you don't so I'm going to just leave in a cab too." Kevin nods his head,
"Damn right."
"Boo!"
"Ah!" Kevin jumps and turns to see the very culprit that scared him. A tall, handsome man who has teal hair, a blue jumper, sinny ripped jeans and a cheeky grin that's close to laughing.
"Dude, you should've see a look on your face." The strange man continues to laugh while the others gives him a weird look. His laughter dies down,
"Dude, don't you recognize me? It's Nat!" Kevin now sees the familiar features on his face and can't help but look at him with a shocked expression.
"Nat? But you….your hair..."
"Nice right. Changed quite a bit since the last time you saw me while you..." he gives Kevin a brotherly noogie,
"...haven't changed a bit." he laughs as Kevin pushed him away. "I could spot you from a mile away." Nat laughs but slowly stops to see Edd and May who looks at him with a blank stare. Nat's attention immediately focuses on Edd who he saunters over to with a sexy smirk.
"Well hello there. The name's Nat cutie." he takes Edd's hand and give it a light and delicate peck, making Edd blush while all May and Kevin can do is watch, one with amusement and the other with horror.
"SO, does a pretty face have a name or do I just call you cutie?" he said with a flirty tone to Edd who's face is going bright red. Kevin interjected,
"Nat don't talk to him, he's a dork!" Nat turns to him,
"You say dork, I say adorkable." and gives a wink to Edd. He has never been flirted like this before and he doesn't know how to handle it, but he doesn't hate it, in fact it makes him feel giddy. Then, Nat turns and caught sight of a blonde girl in a flower dress.
"And who might you be my dear? Are you with us?" He held out his hand for a shake which May accepts,
"May Kanker and yes. I came here with Kevin and Double D from Peach Creek." Nat smiles,
"Ah so all of you are together? Well then, I'll be more than happy to chaperone you to your new abodes." he over dramatically said with a bow while May and Edd can't help but be happy with the offer until Kevin steps in.
"No! No, they said they can get the cabs so they will be fine." he said with a strain smile while trying to push Nat away from them but he just waves his hand at him.
"Don't be stupid! Cabs are expensive! Listen, I have a big van outside where you can squeeze your luggage in. All I need are your addresses for my nav and accept my invitation to a dinner out tonight. My treat." Edd can't help but be delighted.
"That's very generous of you Nat." he takes out his little notebook and write his address then hand it over to Nat.
"Here's my place of accommodation." Nat gestures to May,
"And what about you beautiful?" May blushes at the compliment and grabs Edd's notebook to write down her address.
"Okies," she says quietly, Edd gives her a questioning look while Kevin just glares at them. May hands the book to Nat. He reads the addresses when he raises his eyebrows in surprises.
"No way! These are where you guys are staying?!" Nat looks at them excitedly while the other three looks at him with confusion.
"Dudes, that's the same block of flats I live in! What a coincidence, right? I'm also friends with the guys you'll be staying with so I can tell you about them. Come on! Let's go!" Nat walks off with a skip on his step as Edd and May happily follows him while pushing their luggage as Kevin stares after them, couldn't believe what he just witnesses. It was suppose to be his day and his day only. Not share it with a dork and a Kanker and he didn't think his cousin would take a liking to them, and now they're going to be neighbours, in the same building. He starts to feel depressed about the situation, lowers his head and rotate his cap to the front with his shoulders hunch and drag his feet at their direction.
Once everyone got out of the airport, they are greet by tall scaffoldings surrounding them, many billboards with brightly coloured advertisements. lots of cars and people bustling around the city and smell a combination of street food. It's a lot to take in for the kids of the cul-de-sac as they stand side by side, looking around in wonderment. They hear a car horn, they turn to see Nat waving at them from the car park, next to a run down, rusty van covered in graffiti. Edd is horrified by the state of the van the others just look nervous. After they pack the luggage into the van, they see there is no room in the back and up squishing together at the front.
"Alright are we ready?" Nat says to his cousin and friends and all they can do is nod their heads, still nervous about the condition of the van. Nat didn't notice the nervousness and turns the ignition and the van makes a weird rattling sound before the engine fully runs. Nat reaches to turn on the radio,
"Hellooooooo you beautiful people and welcome to NYCFM! I'm your host, Aimee Opal and I'm super excited because it's the beginning of September where there'll be new students from all over the world coming here to experience their lives in our beautiful city, getting ready to start University! You know the drill! Let's give them all a big, warm welcome by playing one of my favourite artists! I expect you all to sing along!"
Walkin' through a crowd, the village is a glow
Kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats under coats
Everybody here wanted somethin' more
Searchin' for a sound we hadn't heard before
And it said
Nat can't help but sing along to the chorus as the other three, especially Kevin were surprised by how amazing his voice is. Pop star quality.
Welcome to New York
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
Welcome to New York
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
It's a new soundtrack I could dance to this beat, beat forevermore
The lights are so bright but they never blind me, me
Welcome to New York
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
Edd clears his throat,
"So Nat, are you in Columbia University as well?"
"Yes Siree Double Cutie! Music is my major." he said as he sings to the last part of the second verse "BOYS AND BOYS AND GIRLS AND GIRLS! WHOO! My favourite part!"
When we first dropped our bags on apartment floors
Took our broken hearts, put them in a drawer
Everybody here was someone else before
And you can want who you want
Boys and boys and girls and girls
Edd blushes at the nickname while Kevin sharply turns his head,
"What? I thought you'd be doing football like me? Last time we saw each other you like football."
"And I still do along with other sports, but I just do them for fun and to keep in shape,
Welcome to New York
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
Welcome to New York
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
It's a new soundtrack I could dance to this beat, beat forevermore
The lights are so bright but they never blind me, me
Welcome to New York (New York!)
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
but music is where my passion lies. Especially vocals." May smiles at Nat,
"It definitely shows." Nat puts his hand on his chest, clearly touched by the comment.
Like any great love, it keeps you guessing
Like any real love, it's ever-changing
Like any true love, it drives you crazy
But you know you wouldn't change anything, anything, anything
"Thank you! I'm glad to hear that because me and a couple of my mates are forming a band to make our own music. If we manage to get a gig, I'll hook you guys up." he said with a wink.
Welcome to New York
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
Welcome to New York
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York, welcome to New York
He suddenly slows down the vehicle,
"If you look to your left, that's one of the campuses that Double Cutie here will be going to. Science and Medicine, right?" No one answers to Nat's question and just look at how tall the building is with five stories and could be mistaken for a hospital. White, Pristine and shines under the sun.
It's a new soundtrack I could dance to this beat
The lights are so bright but they never blind me
Welcome to New York
New soundtrack
It's been waitin' for you
Welcome to New York
The lights are so bright but they never blind me
Welcome to New York
So bright, they never blind me
Welcome to New York
Welcome to New York
Aimee - "That is Welcome To New York by the beautiful Taylor Swift! Now before we move on to our game of Popmaster, here's Katie Tale with the news."
Katie – "Thanks Aime, well the sun is up and the streets are bustling! A perfect welcoming party for the new students, but I unfortunately have to cut the celebration short as I fear to have dire news. Four students from Columbia University are still missing and the police are no close to finding them, however a friend of one of the victims decides to speak out about the night Casey disappeared. Bella, in your own time, do tell us what happened."
Bella sobbing her heart out – "I shouldn't have taken her to the nightclub! I shouldn't have but I just wanted her to have a night out!"
Katie – "Please calm down, take a deep breath and explain as much as you can.
Bella takes a slow, deep breath – "Well Casey always prefer to read books. Always likes to stay indoors, so I decided it would be nice for her to have a night out. I took her to a nightclub to Scorch so she can have some fun, maybe find a guy. But when she starts drinking, she was swaying, laughing for no reason and even cried out of the blue. Then, I took my eyes off her for a second, then she was gone and that was the last time I saw her and spoke to her."
Katie – "So she was drunk when she's missing?"
Bella – Well that's the thing, she couldn't have gotten drunk because all she had was orange juice. She didn't want to get drunk so seeing her act that way worried me."
Katie – "Are you saying she could be drugged?"
Realization hit Bella – "Oh my god! Oh my god! Casey!" Bella cries loudly as the reporter makes shushing sounds to try and calm her down.
Katie – "Back to you Aimee."
Aimee – Thank you Katie. The police has advised to not be alone when you're out at night and if you're feel you are in danger in anyway, do not hesitate to call 911. The police also want you to call the emergency number if you know anything or seen anything to do with the serial kidnapper or any of the victims. We've put pictures of the victims on our website on our news tab at .com, and please everyone, stay safe."
Nat immediately turns the radio off,
"Well, that went depressing fast." Nat said with a sigh quickly glance at the three passengers to see worrying looks on their faces.
"Don't you guys worry. You just concentrate on enjoying University and the city life, cuz that's what you guys are here for ok? Besides, Nat here will protect you." They nod their heads and continue to sit in silence when they finally reached their destination. Look out the window to see a simple block of flats with a few balconies sticking out and giant bins a few feet away with in a small area inside brick walls. Nat gets out of the van first,
"Welcome to your new homes, mi amigos! Mi casa es su casa! This is where your adventure begins!" The three students got out to observe to observe their surroundings, then look at each other, the people who were never really friends and now living in the same place. They know this is going to be one hell of an adventure.
A key turns in a lock and in comes a slender woman with long, wavy, brunette hair all the way down to her waist and wearing a brown waitress uniform with a name tag 'Bella' on it. She feels exhausted after everything has happened. A friend being kidnapped, the waitressing job and having to have a radio interview about it straight afterwards. It's too much and all she wants to do is get into her dressing gown with a glass of red wine and watch endless television. With a glass of wine in hand, she's flicking through different channels, trying to find something good to watch. But unbeknownst to her, heavy boots slowly and creepily came out of it's hiding place and make its way towards Bella. It slowly comes right behind her and swiftly cover her mouth and nose with a thick cloth. Bella can smell some sort of chemical from it and knows exactly what it is and tries to scream for help only to come out muffled.
"Don't worry my dear. Just fall asleep and you will meet your dear friend soon." a deep, eerie voice whispers in her ear as she feels her eyes fluttering close and her brain goes hazy from the smell of chloroform, then slowly drifts into the dark abyss, going limp into the hands of a dangerous stranger.
