I watched as Peter and Jasper started to prep dinner consisting of chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and corn bread. For vampires who don't eat human food- they sure as hell look like they know what they're doing in the kitchen which amuses me. What do these two do during the day? Watch cooking shows in their free time? My amusement must have gotten a bit too high because next thing I know Jasper is standing right in front of me between my legs but a safe distance.
"Your amusement is coming off of you in waves, Bella. What is going on in that beautiful head of yours?" Jasper questions, his right hand coming up to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.
My face reddens as I know I've been caught and shake my head a bit before saying, "Just find it a bit odd that for two vampires who drink their meals, you guys know how to go about in a kitchen. Do you two watch Hell's Kitchen in your free time?" I arch my eyebrow.
Peter chuckles as he finishes up and comes over to stand at my side. "This one here," he jerks his thumb towards Jasper, "made us watch every single cooking show for the past three months so that we knew how to cook and bake anything you might want."
I can't contain my laughter as Peter informs me of this and from the look on Jasper's face, it looks like if he could right now- he'd be blushing a bright red. "I wanted us to be well prepared for anything," Jasper tells me sheepishly.
"But Indian food? Have you ever had Indian food, sugar?" Peter inquires with a skeptical look.
"Not yet," I reply.
"See! She said yet meaning we get to make Indian food now," Jasper says to Peter as he shoves his shoulder playfully.
Peter rolls his eyes and turns back towards me. "You've already got him wrapped around your finger. Just wait until you're actually comfortable," he smirks before placing a quick kiss to my cheek before going to stir the cooking potatoes.
My emotions shift quickly, much too quickly for me to even settle on one solid emotion until I calm down a bit. There was a shock that ran through me with only slight uncomfortableness, but what overcomes that uncomfortable feeling is contentment and happiness. Jasper smiles before turning his attention to Peter who is damn near growling at the potato he is trying to stab with a fork.
Once my dinner is done, both Peter and Jasper watch intently as I slowly eat which is slightly unnerving as they get the most interested as I swallow the food down. I raise an eyebrow at them which grabs Jasper's attention as he goes from the leaned over position on the counter to standing straight up.
"Come on, Peter," he says. "We'll go pull out our movie collection, darlin'."
I can hear Peter grumble about something as they make their way out of the kitchen and into the living room leaving me to eat in silence. It doesn't take long for me to finish and wrap up the remaining to place in the refrigerator. As I walk into the living room, I see the boys seemingly wrapped up in one another but as soon as they notice my presence, they quickly reposition themselves.
"Sorry," I mumble as a blush forms across my skin.
Peter shoots up and is suddenly standing directly in front of me making me take a step back as my heart skips a couple of beats from surprise. Grabbing my hand gently in his stone cold one, he walks me to the couch and pushes me softly to sit next to Jasper as he grabs a couple of things from where the TV is mounted on the mantle. Sitting on the other side of me so that I am in the middle of the two, he turns on the TV and starts the movie. It doesn't take long for me to start to doze off but as I do, I enter a world where I don't want to be.
"Bella!" He shouts but I continue my way to the beach angrily. "Jesus, Bella! Would you stop!"
Ignoring him as best I can, I keep my feet and legs moving to my destination but of course Jakes legs take him further than what I am even capable of and he reaches me just as I step into the sand. Stopping me in my tracks I clench my fists tightly as I refuse to look at him as he sighs heavily in my face.
"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to push you, I should've taken your no for an answer," Jake says softly. "It won't happen again, I promise, Bells."
I shake my head. "That's what you said last weekend too," I remind him harshly as a tear forces its way out of the corner of my eye on its own accord in anger.
Jacobs grip tightens around my arm making me wince, but I keep my mouth shut. "Am I not dead enough for you?!" He asks loudly as he shakes me slightly. "Is that why you won't make love with me?"
I yank as hard as I can to get my arm free of his grip, pushing him away from him as I do. "You're an asshole, Jacob Black!" I shout at him as the tears come fully out making me even angrier. "Maybe I just don't want to have sex with you right now, have you thought of that? I'm not ready and I shouldn't have to explain myself!"
My arm comes free, and I turn away from him, making my way further onto the beach. I can hear a ripping sound from behind me followed by a low growl making me freeze and turn around. Knowing full well that he shifted his form, I stand still as he stalks up to me but gets halted by the sound of Sam's voice shouting from the tree lines. He emits one more low growl before taking off to leave me on my own and I don't collapse until I am sure he is far away.
"Come on, sugar, wake up already," I faintly hear Peter say.
I start up my truck just as Jacob comes running out of his small house however, I don't stay in park for long as I quickly push the truck down the small muddy driveway. As I take off down the road, I see him running behind me just before I hear a loud howl. I jump but continue down the road back to Charlie's, ignoring the churning in my stomach as I feel as if I'm being hunted. Once I get inside, I automatically walk up to my bedroom to grab a change of clothes before heading to the bathroom where I scrub my skin to the point of it being raw.
The last thing I remember about my dream is a deep loud growl sounding in my ear just before I wake up with a start, my heart pounding in my chest. Peter is kneeling in front of me with a hand over one of my own. Sitting up right, I rub my eyes before sighing.
"What time is it?" I question quietly, sleep still evident in my voice.
"Just a little after three in the morning," he replies. "What was your dream about, sugar?"
"I don't remember," I say as I sit cross legged on the couch, my eyes drooping a bit on their own accord.
"Let's get you to bed, shall we?" Peter says as I get lifted up into his arms which makes me jump slightly in surprise before I relax slightly in his arms. "The bathroom is just through there," he points to the half closed door as he places me gently to my feet before grabbing my bag and placing it on the bed.
Grabbing my things, I make my way into the bathroom to get ready for bed. I skip most of my routine since it's so late and there is no real point in doing it now and when I walk back into the bedroom, I see Peter has changed his clothes as well. Shoving my used clothes into my bag, Peter peels back the covers before motioning me to get in. Too tired to say anything, I crawl in with Peter covering me up once I am settled.
"I'll be right down the hall if you need me, just holler and I'll come running," Peter says before leaning down and placing a kiss to my cheek.
The feelings that stirred up came back and the same resulted in the end. This time when I close my eyes, I dream of nothing. I fall into a deep sleep full of nothingness which I am grateful for.

As I walk up to the house, I can tell Bella is sleeping soundlessly while Peter is somewhere in deep thought. When I get inside, I go up to where Peter is sitting in his chair in the library. His emotions shift just before his head shoots in my direction where his eyes take in my ripped shirt from the bear who thought he could eat me.
"Did something happen?" I ask from his earlier deep thoughts before I came in.
"She had a bad dream," he shakes his head slightly. "I asked about it, but she told me she didn't remember it. She's been sleeping for just over an hour now and seems fine."
"Bella's in a deep sleep so hopefully she stays like that for a while because I have a feeling Jacob Black will make it hard for her to sleep," I say before walking over to where Peter is sitting.
"His ass is grass if he thinks he can get his furry paws anywhere close to her," Peter growls.
"I agree. I'm wondering if we should try to give the Quileute's a call to see how Jacob was able to leave tribal land like he has."
"Should we tell, Bella?" Peter questions worry evident in his emotions. "There isn't much need to worry her even more, but I think she deserves to know."
I nod in agreement, "We will tell her. Let's just give her a couple of days to settle in here before we bombard her. I'm going to get cleaned up."
Grabbing a change of clothes quickly from the bedroom, I stop to stare at Bella's sleeping form and can't help the small smile that spreads across my face. Her lips are slightly parted, hair spewed every which way possible, seemingly content laying on her stomach as the blanket is wrapped around her left leg while her right leg is hitched up. I can't resist the urge to press my lips against her temple smiling as she lets out a soft sigh in response. Making my way to the shower, I let the hot water relax me slightly, but I don't bother spending my time in there as I am anxious to get back to my mates. I follow Peter's scent back into the bedroom where I find him laying on the edge of the bed, watching Bella as she sleeps.
"How long do you think it will take for her to let us in?" Peter asks lowly so he doesn't disturb her.
Going to the other side of the bed, I mimic Peters position before answering, "Longer than either of us would like, but she could surprise us. It's not like there is anything any of us could do about the situation. We should make her as comfortable as possible, but I don't think we shouldn't try to be affectionate. It might help her along the way to know we desire her even if she isn't ready to be with us romantically."
We continue the night talking softly with one another until almost nine in the morning when Bella begins to stir. Bella opens up her eyes, blinking a few times as she focuses on me laying next to her- further than what I want to be but far enough away she isn't completely uncomfortable.
"Morning, sugar," Peter makes himself known from the other side of her making her shift her head towards his direction. "Sleep good?"
Even when she was Edward, she wasn't much of a morning person that much clearly hasn't changed in the time we were away. Bella's response is a simple nod of the head before lifting up her pillow and covering her head up with it. I can't help the chuckle that comes out as she groans and relaxes into the bed once more.
"Still not a morning person I take it, darlin'?" I smile.
Another groan ensues making Peter laugh as he gets off the bed before quickly going down to the kitchen where I can hear him make a cup of coffee before coming back up a few minutes later. At the smell Bella perks up, shifting into a seated position with her legs crossed. She throws her hair up into a messy bun before Peter hands her the mug of coffee. After taking a sip, she glances over at the both of us before taking another sip.
A/N: Coffee really is a drug, unfortunately I won't be able to drink any until I get rid of this stomach bug. Hope you guys liked it.
