Journey to the End: Will you be expanding more on Ichigo's Quincy side? Cause Bleach Brave Soul has the design of Quincy Ichigo that you can use to implement in the story. As I said before I will be expanding on Ichigo's Quincy power, like blut vein, his heritage, etc. I am aware of bleach brave soul designs for his Quincy powers. Since I play the game for 4 years. So, Yes I will implement it in the story. Also, the 7th Anniversary Ichigo looks sick and I will add that power into the story.
Love-to-peace: Ichigo can't learn magic, can he? I mean I would have suggested Kido, but he never learned that so I don't know what else you can do to make Ichigo more versatile. Not unless you have Quincy Zangetsu teaching him some Quincy skills. I stated before that I plan on Ichigo learning magic. I won't tell you how.
I'm starting to notice that not everyone reads the author's notice. Which I find surprising. I didn't think to write this in the beginning because it seemed obvious to read, but I guess not. Please read the author's note, I don't want to answer the same question. Just letting you know for those who haven't noticed, the village Ichigo and Wendy are in is a bit different from the anime. I'm not going to follow everything like the anime, how Roubaul told Wendy that she was in the guild. I will bring up the guild, but later in the story.
So if there are things that are different here from the anime. That just means I'm adding things to make this village more realistic. In the end, the village and everyone there was all an illusion. So I want to make it more involved. So the goodbye Ichigo and Wendy will have to make will be more realistic. In the anime, there wasn't much involvement with the village and the people within. So Wendy's goodbye wasn't that good, I mean I teared up, but that's it. Also, I'm going to make Ichigo understand and be able to read the language in this world since I don't want to write it in the story. He won't understand things like Freed's magic language, ancient language, or anything like that. So I'm trying to make things more reasonable. Just the normal language everyone speaks and reads. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 8:
A new day had started, the sun slowly pouring on the curtain, and the sounds of birds loudly chirping outside. The noise that the birds were making slowly woke Ichigo up. It was getting annoying. He groaned as he got up from his bed. He looked over at the clock. It was 6:30 in the morning. He woke up early again. At least this time he had 8 hours of sleep. He didn't even try to fall back asleep, knowing that the attempt won't work. He got up from his bed and looked in Wendy's direction. She wasn't bothered by the noise. He later noticed there wasn't much noise coming from the birds and was thankful the noise had diminished. He didn't want Wendy to wake up. The boy went to the sink and got a drink of water. His mind replayed yesterday's event.
After Jellal's departure, Ichigo and Wendy continue to spend their time with Rouabul in the village. Roubaul continues to introduce and show them around the village. Ichigo did see most of the buildings the previous morning. However, he didn't know what those buildings' purpose was. As they continued, the two started getting accustomed to everything around them. He went back to see Wendy before going outside. He saw her blanket off on the side, only covering her left side. He went over and rearranged the blanket, coving her whole body.
As the boy stepped outside, he started heading to the library. There wasn't a reason why he was going to the library. He just wanted to kill some time. He remembers Roubaul telling both him and Wendy that the library is always open. However, if it's early in the morning or late at night. No one will be there, so they will have to sign the book themselves. This meant that Ichigo was able to access any books that were in that library, despite how early it was. However, he thought this was odd since people can just steal any book they want if they chose to.
As he approaches the entrance of the library, he opened the door and walked inside. In front of him, many shelves were filled with different kinds of books. All of the books on the shelves were placed on the side. They were labels on each shelf, indicating what the books were focused on. The library had books relating to fantasy, documentaries, mystery, thrillers, and much more.
He walked over to the documentaries section and looked for anything that interested him. He never liked reading documentaries even at school. But it was different now, he needed the information. Any book focusing on dragons or magic will help him and Wendy greatly. Looking top and bottom, there weren't many that caught his eyes. Before a red leathered book was to his right. He grabbed the book and looked at the cover. The book had a map. He looked at the title of the book and it read 'The History Of Earthland'. This was the kind of book Ichigo had hoped to find. He opened the book and looked at the table of content. He needed to see if this book mentions anything about dragons. The word dragon was displayed near the end of the content. "Two for one," he thought to himself. He went over to the counter and wrote his name and the book title on the sheet.
On his way back home, he heard a female voice off in the distance. He peeked around and saw Anisa and Roubaul near a well. "...You really should rest," Anisa spoke with a hint of concern.
"I'm fine, you don't need to worry."
"You haven't gotten any sleep lately, how can I not worry?"
The man was silent, he couldn't deny that fact. Ichigo, who had overheard their conversation, thought it would be better not to eavesdrop any further. He quietly walked away from them but stopped when his foot landed on a branch. "...dammit," he thought tiringly and sighed. The two heard the noise, Anisa was alerted, but Roubaul didn't feel the same cautiousness the woman had felt.
"Good morning Ichigo," he said off in the distance. Knowing it was him.
The boy walked out for them both to see and greeted the two. "...Morning"
"Ichigo? Why are you awa-" Anisa asked, but quickly cut off.
"Can't sleep again?" the older man asked, Anisa was confused about why the boy was awake at this time and how calm Roubaul was when asking.
"yeah, this time I was woken up by birds" he explained
"They are quite loud sometimes." He chuckled before continuing. "However, you really should get more sleep, it's not healthy waking up so early," he said with concern, a boy his age shouldn't be lacking in sleep. While Anisa felt the same concern for the boy but was still annoyed.
"...the same could be said for you." The woman said. Roubaul brushed it off.
"…I'll try, but I don't think that's not going to happen for some time," Ichigo spoke his mind.
"Why is that?"
"...Just a feeling"
"...I see" accepting his words, his eyes slowly laid on a book the boy was holding. "You went to the library?"
"Yeah, just wanted to kill some time"
"Which book did you get?"
Ichigo looked back at the title of the book, not wanting to get the name wrong. "The History Of Earthland"
"I never took you as a person who liked History," he smiled.
"Yeah, I'm not a fan of history, but it doesn't hurt to learn."
As the two continue their talk. Anisa was on the side witnessing the two interact. Judging by their exchange. It felt like the two had a similar kind of talk before. She was concerned. Roubaul isn't getting enough sleep, and now apparently Ichigo isn't getting enough either. She didn't mind the two talking to each other. But they should do so at a different time, not early in the morning when they should have their rest.
"You heard our conversation, didn't you?" the man asked knowing the most likely answer.
"I did, don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
"That would be appreciated," the man said with relief. He didn't want others to worry about him. Nor make a big deal out of it.
"If you don't mind me asking, was your conversation only about sleep, or is there more to it?"
The two were shocked by Ichigo's curiosity. However, they weren't sure if they should tell him. There was silence afterward. Both Anisa and Roubaul tried coming up with an answer, but Ichigo continued with another question.
"Does this relate to yesterday's talk?"
Roubaul winced, while Anisa was the only one surprised by the boy's question. "Yesterday's talk?" she looked back at Roubual for an explanation but he was quiet.
"Not everything"
"What did you two talk about yesterday?" the woman asked, she was more confused. Rabaul became more hesitant. He hasn't told her.
Seeing how Anisa was confused and Roubaul's hesitant expression. Ichigo didn't know if he should have brought up their conversation from yesterday. "Sorry, was I not supposed to bring that up?" he asked.
"I had wanted it that way, but I don't blame you for mentioning it.," he responded to his question. Before looking back at Anisa and calmly spoke. "Ichigo is aware that I am a ghost."
Her eyes widen before looking at Ichigo. "W-what…how?" Her astonishment showed on her face. Ichigo understood why she would be worried but answered her question. "I'm spiritually aware, but do others know that Roubaul is a ghost."
"...No, only I do" Anisa answered, Ichigo's face didn't show it, but he was surprised. "She's the only one? Then how does every else see Roubaul and not know what he is?"
"...Sorry about my wife's concern, I didn't want to make her worry any further, so I didn't say anything," Roubual said bluntly, he realized what he said.
"It's fine…huh?" He looked at Anisa to see if what he stated was true, but all he saw was Anisa's annoyed face. "How can I not worry!" she yelled at Roubual before looking back at Ichigo "...Yes, I'm this idiot's wife" she sighed. "How the hell do you marry a ghost?"
"I see" mind blown by the new information. They didn't seem compatible with each other. He didn't want to think more of this. They probably have their reasons. Instead, he looked back at Roubaul hoping he would answer his questions from yesterday. Roubaul was aware of the boy's curiosity but wasn't able to answer. "Sorry, I'm still not ready to talk about it."
Ichigo was saddened by the man's secrecy. He wanted to know. "...You can take your time," Ichigo said "Does Anisa know the answers?"
"...she does.."
The boy looked at Anisa, she was confused once again. "What questions?" she asked the two.
"Is it ok if I ask?" He asked for consent.
"I would like to keep it a secret for a bit longer. It would be more appropriate for me to answer those questions."
"...Right" he accepted his input and stopped.
There was silence afterward, they didn't know what to say nor what to do. This time, it was Anisa who broke the silence.
"How's Wendy?"
"She's doing fine, but she still misses her mom and Jellal," he answered
"...How do you plan on finding her mom, Jellal did say that you two were trying to help find her mom," Roubual asked, remembering the purpose why Ichigo was with her.
"I don't know, but I don't think it's too hard to spot her. She's a big white dragon after all."
The two didn't say anything. They didn't have anything to add. But when their brains finally registered what the boy had said. They both instantly shot back at him.
"A dragon!?" both Anisa and Roubaul shouted at the boy.
The boy was startled by the two's sudden shout. "...yeah, that's what she told me." he forgot that none of them mention what Wendy's mom is.
"A dragon? How does a dragon raise a child?" Anisa asked, still shocked by the newfound information.
"I asked myself that too, but she insisted her mother was a dragon. So all I can do is believe her." at least it made his job easier. If it was a person, it would have been much harder. They weren't much else to add to the topic afterward.
"Hey…sorry for asking, but is there a place where I can work?" Ichigo asked
"Why do you ask?" Roubaul asked back while Anisa stayed quiet.
"I plan on earning money, I don't want to keep freeloading. Plus…I'm…kinda broke." the two looked at each other. They didn't expect Ichigo to feel that way. But they didn't think much else when they heard that he was broke.
"Yes, there should be a person you can ask near the farms. You can lend him a hand."
"...Thanks"
He looked at the sky and saw the sunlight slowly appearing over them. "I'm going to head back, I need to make breakfast. See you later."
Biding them farewell, Ichigo headed back home. "He's mature," Anisa said to Roubaul. "Yes, he really is."
As he returned home, he quietly walked to the bedroom and saw Wendy sound asleep. Not wanting to waste any time, he looked around the kitchen and got a pan and a spatula. He went over to the fridge and got the ingredients he was planning on making. He noted how advanced the village was. When they first came to this village, he expected the place to have no kind of modern technology he was used to. But despite the village's appearance, there was technology. Not much, but there were the necessities. The fridge, stove, sink, there were even toilets. He was relieved. He didn't want to change his lifestyle.
He sets the pan on top of the stove and watches as the flames turned on. He cracked the eggs onto the pan and slowly used his spatula.
As he was cooking, he heard the door slowly creaking, Wendy had woken up. He looked over at the door and saw the girl's silhouette. She was looking at him, somewhat hiding behind the door. She wasn't rubbing her eyes or yawning. It didn't look like she had just woken up.
"Morning" Ichigo said to the girl. He didn't understand why she was shy.
"Good morning…n-nii..san" Wendy replied slowly. The last part was quieter. She wanted Ichigo to hear her say it but didn't at the same time, it was too embarrassing.
He understood why she was hiding behind the door now. She was just embarrassed. He displayed a bitter smile "You don't have to force it, you can take your time."
She blushed, he did hear her, it wasn't as embarrassing as she had thought. "O-ok" She slowly walked over to the table. Waiting patiently for him to finish. As she waited her curiosity slowly comes in. She looked over at the boy. He was currently making something, but what? She never knew Ichigo could cook and got excited to see what he would be cooking. She hopped off the chair and walked toward Ichigo and asked.
"W-what are you cooking?"
"Just toast and scrambled eggs so far," he answered, he knew how much Wendy liked eating, so he planned on making a bit more. He wasn't experienced in cooking, but he does recall his little sister Yuzu teaching him how to cook. Whenever Yuzu and Karin would have to go on a field trip, Yuzu would make sure that Ichigo and their father would be able to take care of themselves.
"Wanna give me a hand?" he asked calmly.
"C-can I?" this was her first time cooking.
"I don't see why not, I think there was a stool nearby," Wendy's excitement now determined her next action. She wandered around the hut, in search of a smile stool she could stand on. Ichigo put aside the eggs and went back to the fridge to gather more ingredients.
For the rest of the morning. The two spent their time cooking, creating many memories on the way.
Ok, I admit, there wasn't much story progression in this chapter, but sometimes I think chapters like this are fine. I don't know. You can tell me in the review. Next chapter I do plan on moving the story along, somewhat. I know that this story is kinda slow, but I hope you continue reading.
