Darth krayt1: The new TD characters in Alexandria are Brick, Jo, Zoey, B, Dakota, Brody, Kitty, Emma, Rock, Sky, Chet and Lorenzo. Cameron, Spud, Sam and Beardo lived in Alexandria too, but the former three died when the Wolves attacked Alexandria and the latter one died while making his way back to Alexandria after half of the herd was lead towards it by the horn.
upcomingfactor: You'll have to wait and see how Noah will react to what will happen to Glenn.
ThEndymam: I love when I get long reviews with theories like yours. I have to correct you about one matter, though. Lightning is not a member of Alexandria. Your predictions are interesting to say the least but you'll have to wait and see which are wrong and which are correct as I don't want to spoil anything to you. :)
Daryl, Duncan, Abraham, Sasha, Sanders and Harold continued to do their job of leading the remaining walkers in the herd away from Alexandria. Upon arriving at the 20-miler marker which was to set be the place where they were supposed to lead the walkers to, they increased the speed of their vehicles and started to distance themselves from the herd, beginning to head back to Alexandria.
"That's 20?" Daryl asked his group through his walkie-talkie.
"It will be." Sasha replied, "642 is a mile ahead."
"We gotta put distance between us and them before the turnoff." Harold stated.
"So floor it." Abraham added.
"On it." Duncan replied, increasing the speed of his motorcycle even more.
"All right, try to keep up." Daryl said, beginning to distance himself from the car with Abraham, Sasha, Sanders and Harold in it as Duncan followed his example.
"Guys, have you looked at this car?" Sasha asked them, "Believe me, we want to get back there, too."
Upon reaching the 642 sign, the small convoy consisting of three vehicles turned to the left, leaving the main road they've been driving on since the start of this operation. They drove into the city to which the road they had just entered led, putting a distance between themselves and the herd. They continued to drive their vehicles through the town, intending to find a way out of him and start driving back to their home.
As they proceeded to make their way through the town, a group of gun-wielding rushed out of the buildings and the forest surrounding the town and opened fire at them. Sasha, Abraham, Sanders and Harold ducked down in their car to avoid getting shot by the strangers, hearing how the back window of the car was destroyed by the bullets as Daryl and Duncan started to maneuver their motorcycles to avoid getting shot.
It was when a car with a few attackers inside drove out of the corner and started to chase after Abraham, Sasha, Sanders and Harold as Daryl took a too sharp turn with his motorcycle and collapsed on the ground. Duncan looked over his shoulder at him in worry, beginning to consider if he should stop right now and give him some covering fire with his pistol to give him enough time to get himself back on his motorcycle safely, but was forced to abandon this idea.
It was when three more cars drove into his view and one of them seemed to be going after him. He got the confirmation to it as a bullets hit the ground around him. Having no other choice, he quickly took a turn to the left to get himself away from the attackers as one vehicle followed him. Daryl quickly got himself back on his feet and picked up his motorcycle from the ground before getting himself back on it and starting it up again.
He quickly started to drive away from the attackers and looked over his shoulders, seeing two cars were going after him as Abraham, Sasha, Sanders and Harold crashed their car through the brick wall, causing the cars which were following them to stop. The four of them quickly got themselves out of their car, with their guns in ready and walked through the now destroying brick wall.
They opened fire at the car in front of them, killing the attackers inside it and didn't stop firing until they ran out of the bullets or shells in Harold's case. When they stopped firing, there was almost nothing left of the car in front of them. The four of them lowered their guns, no having no further need to use it for now as the rest of the attackers was somewhere else right now.
Abraham pulled out his knife and moved towards the now destroyed car as Sasha looked at him, "Leave it."
"We need to get out of here. More of them might arrive here soon." Sanders said, reloading the UMP45 she took from the armory for this operation.
Abraham stopped in his tracks and looked over his shoulder at them with a grin on his face, "Just gonna give it a last little polish."
"What the hell you got to grin about?" Sasha wanted to know.
"We won, darlin'." Abraham replied.
Sasha grabbed him by his shoulders, "Listen to what Sanders just said, there could be more."
Abraham stared at her for a second before sheathing his knife again, "Screw it."
"We should split up." Harold suggested as Abraham, Sasha and Sanders looked at him questioningly, "We should go look for Duncan and Daryl to see if they're okay."
"Are you sure about this?" Sasha asked, "You know it's risky."
"Yes." Harold nodded, "If someone will go look for them and will come across either of them or both of then, then we will get out of this town quicker."
Abraham nodded at him, "Alright. If this is what you want to do. Are you going alone or do you want to take someone with you."
"I'll go with him." Sanders volunteered as she stepped closer to Harold.
"Okay." Sasha nodded, "If the two of you will change your mind about it or will need to find us for some reason, look for us in the nearby town."
"Understood." Harold nodded in understanding, "Let's go, Sanders."
Sanders nodded at him and turned away from Sasha and Abraham. She and Harold split up for them and ran towards the forest to look for Duncan and Daryl as Sasha and Abraham watched them leave for a moment before turning away and heading towards the town.
Daryl drove his motorcycle through the forest for a bit after managing to lose the attackers which were going after him in their car. He stopped it in the burnt-out area of the forest after a moments of driving and turned off the engine. He got himself off his motorycle and grabbed it by it's handlebar, beginning to lead it through the forest, coming across a few heavily burned bodies of the walkers in the process.
He looked around himself as he proceeded to make his way through the forest, keeping his eyes open for any possible threats to him before stopping in his tracks after finding a place which he thought was good enough to stop and catch a breath. He leaned against his motorcycle, making sure to lean against it too hard as he knew it would cause it to collaps on the ground.
He pulled out his walkie-talkie shorty after and called out for his group, "Duncan? Sasha? Abraham? Sanders? Harold? Are you there?"
After receiving no answer from any of them, he looked down at his bloodied hand and the wound he had sustained when he crashed his motorycle right after he and his group got attacked. He took off his glove, wanting to patch this wound up and took off his jacket. He grunted in pain as he slowly slid his wounded hand out of the sleeve, trying to make it as less painful as possible.
He placed his jacket aside and reached into his motorcycle to his grab he was keeping there. He was about to reach into it and pull out some supplies he could use to patch himself up but he stopped himself after hearing something close to him. He put his bag aside and covered his motorycle with a bunch of leaves before picking up his crossbow.
He slowly moved towards the tree from which the noise that caught his attention came from. He made sure to slow and careful in his approach, not wanting allert whoever was hiding there of his presence. If anyone was hiding there. He knew there was a possibility of his ears playing a trick on him. However, this time it wasn't the case as the two unknown women appeared in his view after he made his way to the tree. The two women got themselves into a standing position and raised their hands in the air.
"You found us, okay?" One of the women took, keeping her hands raised in the air, "Here we are. We earned what we took."
Before Daryl could answer to her question in any way, he heard a twig snap behind him. He quickly turned around and saw an unknown man swinging a large stick at him. The man hit him right in the head, knocking him out.
Duncan let out a deep breath as he drove his motorcycle the forest, having lost the people who were on his tail a few moments ago. He had no idea what happened with Daryl, Harold, Sanders, Abraham and Duncan, but he hoped they managed to escape from the attackers too. He looked around himself as he drove further into the forest, wanting to make sure if they were was someone else in the forest.
He nodded his head to himself. It seemed like he was the only person in this part of the forest. He stopped his motorycle and turned off his engine before getting himself off of it. He leaned his motocycle against a tree, making sure it won't fall on the ground and leaned against the tree next to it. He pulled out his walkie-talkie and called out for his group.
"Redneck. Harold. Sanders. Abraham. Sasha. It's me. I managed to escape from those assholes. Can you hear me?" He called out for his group, but got no answer from any of them, "I repeat. This is Duncan. I managed to escape from those assholes, whoever they were, can you hear me? If yes, can you let me know where you are right now?"
He shook his head after not receiving any answer from his group for the second time. Realizing there was no sense in contacting them right now, he put his walkie-talkie aside and walked back to his motorcycle. If he was not able to contact his group right, then he will try to make his way back to the town. Perharps he'll get lucky enough and stumble upon some familiar face there or on his way there.
He stopped in his tracks upon hearing something in the not too far distance from him. He looked in the direction of the noise and saw a group of people walking towards him. He shook his head as he grabbed his motorcycle and gently set it down on the ground. He quickly grabbed some nearby leaves, covering his motorcycle in them before distancing himself from his vehicle.
He took cover behind a nearby tree, waiting for the people coming his way to walk past him as they slowly made their way into the area. Duncan slightly leaned out of his cover, taking a quick look at the group of people. He saw this group consisted of six people, five men and one woman to be exact, and saw a mexican man walking at the front of the group.
He hid himself completely behind the tree again, wanting to stay hidden there until the group of unknown people will distance himself from him as he didn't want to be noticed them. As he continued to hide out of their view, he managed to overhear the conversation they were having right now.
"Is it here?" A woman asked.
"Yes." The mexican man nodded in confirmation, "I just talked with Wade about the guy some of his men chased into the forest. According to him, he drove somewhere into this part of the forest."
"Is he with the people we're going after?" A man with a black hair with an UZI in his right hand asked.
"I don't know, Alv. Wade didn't say anything else about him." The mexican man replied.
"I see." Alv nodded in understanding, "Better to check it out than just leave it."
A black skinned man sighed in frustation, "I hate it when we have to go after people who suddenly stopped liking our way of life. It's always the same case everytime when someone tries their luck outside. At first, they didn't have a problem with it, but when a problem they have to work for appears, they suddenly realize they don't like how we do things back home."
A man with a dirty blond hair shook his head, "I don't understand why we've been sent along with Wade's crew for this job."
"You're new, Vince. You still have a lot to learn about your home." Alv said, "He doesn't like escapee's. He always sends a large search party whenever someone tries to escape and the leader of our outpost always aid him in this."
"A word of advice for you, Vince." A man with cap on his head said, "You better keep your complains about having to go on this kind of stuff as the leader of our outpost hates complainers and trust me, you don't want to deal with him when he's angry."
"Speak for yourself, Kenneth." The woman said, "I personally find him scarier when he's calm. Don't even get me started on his whistling melody. I always found it so damn creepy."
The black skinned man shook his head, "Who would have thought a guy with an emo hair like him could be stern towards his people. If I didn't know him, I would have thought he's just some kid trying to look scary."
"I hear ya." Vince nodded in agreement, "You should have seen how suprised I was when I learned he's the leader of our outpost after I was assigned to it. I heard a few things about him at our outpost. I overheard he was one of the first members of our community, just like Laura. Is that true?"
"Yup. It is true." The black skinned man nodded in confirmation, "He was standing by his side when our community was formed. Him being around for so long is the reason why he views him in such a high regard, just like he does with Simon."
"You're exaggerating. All of you." Alvin said, "He's not that bad once you get to know him better."
"Easy for you and Manny to say." Kenneth said, "At least he seems to like you in some way so he isn't as harsh towards you two as he is towards me or the rest under his command."
"Perharps Alvin is just too used when dealing with those kind of people." The woman said, "I mean, look at him and Manny. From what I've heard from Manny, Alvin here used to be a big coward when he first met him." A chuckle escaped her lips, "According to Manny, Alvin looked like he was seconds away from shitting his pants when he introduced himself to him."
"I was coward in the first weeks of all of this. I won't deny it because it's the truth." Alvin admitted, "Good thing I met Manny when I did otherwise I would definitely be a dead man by this point if I didn't."
Manny smiled at him, "Are you saying I had an influence on you?"
Alvin nodded in confirmation and smiled back at him, "You know it. The best kind of influence."
The group of six continued to move forward themselves as they continued their conversation. Duncan managed to overheard they were saying and what he had just learned from him got him quite curious. Who were these people? Who were their leaders? What were the names of their leaders? All he could say from their words for now was the fact one of their leaders was apparently named Simon.
He didn't ask himself if those people and their group were dangerous. It was quite easy for him to say they and their group weren't pleasant people. He already got a chance to experience it when they attacked him and his group, causing him to be where he is right now. The way they were talking about their leaders only assured him it would be better if he stayed away from them and their group.
As they continued move further down the path, he slowly moved to the side in his cover as he knew he would become visible to them if he remained hidden behidn this part of the tree. It was when he heard something snap underneath him. His eyes widened, realizing he had just stepped on the twig and broke it.
Manny stopped in his tracks, "Have you heard it too?"
"Yeah." Kenneth looked around himself, "There's someone here."
"It seems like Wade was lying to us." Alvin stated.
Vince looked around himself and narrowed his eyes upon noticing something suspicious about one tree not too far from them. It was when he noticed something move behind it, "Hey." He made sure his group had their eyes on him and pointed at the tree which caught his attention, "We should check this one large three. I think I saw something move over there."
"Okay." Alvin nodded at him and looked at the woman and the black skinned man, "Grace. Russell. You know what to do so."
"Understood/Okay." Grace and Russell voiced their understanding at the same time and moved towards the tree Vince had just pointed towards.
"...Shit." Duncan thought to himself, knowing he had unintentionally revealed his position to them.
He clenched his hand, hearing how Grace and Russell were getting closer to him. He now wished he took his Colt Model 933 with him instead of leaving it at the armory in Alexandria. This way he would have a tiny chance against these people. In the situation where they were already made aware of his presence, he doubted he would be able to do much against them with his bow and his pistol.
He nodded his head to himself, making a decision on what to do next. He knew how risky it was, but it was the best thing he could in this situation. He moved out his cover and pushed himself into run. He started to run forward himself in an attempt of getting away from the group he had just encountered, leaving himself perfectly visible to them.
Grace stopped in her tracks and pointed at Duncan, "He's getting away!"
Manny took a quick look at Duncan to see if he was the person they were looking for. He nodded his head to himself after seeing Duncan's mohawk, "He has a mohawk. He matched the description Wade gave. That's our guy."
"Okay." It was all Alvin had to heard from him, "Russell. Vince. Grace. You're with us." He shifted his gaze to Kenneth, "Ken. You go get Amy and the rest. You know what to tell them."
"On it." Kenneth nodded in understand as he turned away from his group and ran in the opposite direction of them to get more people from his group.
Not wasting any time, Manny, Alvin, Russell, Vince and Grace quickly ran after Duncan, beginning to chase him throughout the forest as Duncan increased his speed after hearing how they started to chase him, wanting to get away from them as soon as possible.
Daryl had no idea how much time had passed since he was knocked out when he regained his consciousness. The first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was the man who knocked him out in the first place. The unknown was crouching in front of him with a suspicious look on his face, his right hand holding a pistol as Daryl felt like he was leaning against a tree.
The unknown man aimed his pistol at Daryl upon seeing Daryl open his eyes, "We're moving. Here's the deal. You don't say shit and I don't kill you."
"I ain't who you think." Daryl replied, his eyes set on the unknown man. The two unknown women from earlier were standing right behind him.
The unknown man moved his pistol closer to Daryl's forehead to make himself look more threatening, "Say something else. Go ahead." Daryl remained silent as the unknown man grabbed him by his shoulder and brought him back on his feet. He lead him to the two women, "Follow them."
Daryl silently complied to his orders, knowing it was the best thing he could do right now. He doubted those people were with the attackers. The two women moved away from him and the unknown man, beginning to move further into the forest as he and the unknown man followed them. He felt the unknown man was still aiming his pistol at him as they proceeded to walk further into the forest.
The unknown woman reached into her bag and pulled an almost empty bottle of water before holding it out to the other woman, "Here, drink the rest."
"We should save it." The other woman said.
"We'll find some more. Drink." The unknown woman insisted as the other woman reluctantly took the water bottle from her and unscrewed it, "You're supposed to stay hydrated. It all works together."
"Yeah. It does." The other woman nodded in agreement and took a sip from the water bottle. She handed the bottle back to the unknown woman who turned to look at Daryl and held it out oh im.
"Have it." She told him as Daryl backed away from her, delicing her offer.
The unknown man grabbed the water bottle from her and held it in front of Daryl's face, "We don't need you falling down. Drink." Daryl reluctantly took the water bottle from him and took a long sip from it, empty it completely, "They find us, maybe we give you to them, they let us call it even." He gestured towards himself and the two women he was traveling with, "You see, we're reasonable people. Everybody's got their code. You feel you gotta kneel, that's fair enough. We don't." He took the now empty bottle from Daryl and held it out to the unknown man. The unknown woman took it from him as he grabbed Daryl by his shoulder, making him walk again, "Let's go."
"I can't believe we're back." The other woman said as they continued to move further into the forest.
"It's not home anymore, but it's better than where we were." The unknown woman stated.
"This is a pit stop." The unknown man stated, holding Daryl by his arm, "We pick up Patty, nothing more than that."
The other woman looked around herself, seeing all the burned trees around them, "How'd you do it?
"You saw where we left the truck?" The unknown man replied, "We opened the valve and drove all the way in from Farmview Road. Ran from the tree line till we got to the pavement. Lit up a matchbook from the Sweetwater and dropped it in on the trail. Then we just ran for the car. Got in and the dead ones were there. They were beating on the hood, and then... and then boom! Knocked 'em on their asses and I took an axe to each one."
"Then we just watched it go up." The unknown woman added, " No more moans, no more of that wailing. It was just the fire, just burning them all away."
"You did all this?" Daryl asked them, speaking up for the first time since they went into the forest.
"It was right at the start." The unknown woman replied, "Everything stopped... the TV, the radio. We were here. The forest was full of them. And the other ones in town, they were drawn to it. They just walked right into the flames. We got most of them. Thought we ended it for us, and she was in DC. We thought everyone was fighting them wherever they were."
Yeah, we thought that was what everybody was doing." The unknown man added as he let go off Daryl's arm and catched up to the unknown women, "Fighting it. That we'd all win together. We were stupid."
"Y'all don't think you're being stupid right now?" Daryl asked, angering the unknown man.
The unknown man turned around to look at him with a glare on his face as he pulled out his pistol and moved towards him. He aimed his pistol right at his forehead, "Are you saying I should kill you?" Daryl stared at him silently, "I mean it, are you gonna try and pull something on us? Are we just being thick here by not removing all doubt? Right now, by me not pulling this trigger, is that a mistake? I'm serious. I really wanna know. You made a choice to kill for someone else, to have them own you for a roof over your head and three squares, so maybe I'm not considering all aspects here. You tell me, am I being stupid?"
Daryl shook his head, having no idea who were the people he was talking about. Could this have been the people who attacked him and his group back in the town?, "No. Look, I got somewhere to be. We can make a deal. I can help you out."
"You're one of them." The unknown man said as he continued to aim his pistol at Daryl's forehead, "You're hurt and you're alone and you'd say anything. We should've never trusted you people to begin with." He made a gesture with his pistol, ordering Daryl to start walking again. Daryl complied to his order, having no other choice right now, "Go on. Keep moving."
Daryl walked past the two women, not saying anything to either of them as the unknown man catched up to him and grabbed him by his shoulders, making sure he won't try to do anything funny. The group of four continued to move further into the forest, eventually walking out of the burned part of it. The unknown man pushed Daryl to the right, letting him know they were changing direction without saying anything to him a few moments later. Daryl once again complied to his wishes and moved to the right. It was when a gated parking lot with a lot of walkers walking around it appeared in his view.
The unknown man followed him to the gated parking lot and shook his head after seeing how many walkers were infesting it right now, "Son of a bitch. Patty."
"She could be..." The unknown woman tried to say.
The unknown man put his hands on the sides of his head, knowing it a big complication in his plan, "No, she's gone."
The unknown man nodded in understanding, "Then we make another plan."
The unknown man turned around to look at her, "Yeah, we get out of here, that's the plan."
"Then that's the plan." The unknown man gave him another nod of understanding.
"You guys didn't have to do this for me." The other woman stated, her eyes set on the walker filled parking lot.
The unknown woman looked at her, "It was the right thing for all of us."
"This was the right thing?" The other woman asked her as she returned her gaze, "Even if just you guys went back now, if you just told them that it was me..."
"No." The unknown woman cut her off, her hands on her hips, "We'll find a way."
"Just think about it." The other woman insisted.
The unknown woman shook her head, "No."
The unknown man pointed at the parking lot, "Look, maybe we don't get as far, but we'll get..."
His words died in his throat as the other man lose the balance in his feet because of the pain she was in right now and fainted. She fell against the unknown woman as the unknown woman and the unknown man started tending her. Using this opportunity to his advantage, Daryl quickly picked up the bag from the ground and fleed into the forest.
"Tina!" The unknown woman called out for the other woman now named Tina in worry as she gently set her down on the ground, "Hey, baby sister, look at me."
The unknown man saw what just happened with Daryl and the bag and quickly jumped back to his feet. He aimed his pistol at Daryl and fired a few times at him, "Hey, hey, hey!"
The unknown woman looked over her shoulder as Daryl ran out of her view with the bag in his hands, "Don't! We need that, please!"
Daryl ran through his forest for a few moments, trying to distance himself from the people who took him prisoner as best as he could. He ran back into the burned part of the forest and jumped over a burned log, taking cover behind him. He quickly freed his hands from his bounds and reached into the bag, pulling out the walkie-talkie.
He brought the walkie-talkie closer to his mouth, "Duncan, Harold, Sanders, Sasha, Abraham, are you there?"
Just like earlier, he didn't receive any answer from his group. He looked over the fallen log as he heard something walking towards him. Much to his relief, it wasn't the people he had just stolen the bag from and instead it was just a walker. He quickly reached into the bag, intending to take his crossbow out of it as the walker proceeded to move towards him.
He pulled out his crossbow out of the bag and turned towards the walker and the walker reached it's hand towards him, being just a meter or two away from him. Daryl quickly fired his crossbow and the bolt hit the walker right in the middle of it's head, killing it for good. The walker's body fell down to the ground like a ton of bricks as Daryl looked away from it and took a look into the bag again.
He saw mall cooler filled with insulin sticking out of the bag, realizing Tina didn't faint out of the panic she was feeling after seeing how walker infested the parking lot was. She fainted because of the diabetes.
Abraham and Sasha walked through the town together, trying to find a place where they could wait for their group to return to them. Sasha stopped in her tracks and looked at the door to the office building next to her as she found a good place for her and Abraham to wait. Seeing her stop, Abraham stopped in his tracks and looked ahead of himself, seeing a lone walker walking down the sidewalk in front of them.
Sasha started writing down Daryl, Harold, Duncan and Sanders' names on the door to the office building with her knife as Abraham pulled out his knife and took a step towards the walker in front of them, wanting to take it out.
"Don't." Sasha's words stopped him from taking another step towards the walker.
He looked over his shoulder at her with a questioning look on his face, "What?"
"You're smarter than that. We don't need to leave bread crumbs." Sasha explained as she stopped writing the names of the members of her group on the door and walked into the building.
Abraham pulled out his flashlight and his pistol and followed her into the building. He shined his flashlight at the hallway in front of him and he held his pistol in ready, just in case if he will have to use it on something or someone. He carefully walked into one darkened room and shined his flashlight around it, giving him a good view he had just walked into.
It was when something caught his attention. He slowly walked over to it and unzipped it, finding out it was protecting a military uniform with a lot of various medals on it. He turned away from it and walked over to the wall, seeing a picture of a man who was wearing this uniform. The unknown man was smilling widely on the picture as he was surrounded by his family.
He touched the picture and turned off his flashlight before walking out of the room. He walked into the office where Sasha had situated herself, sitting on the chair. She rested her head on her hand as she stared blankly ahead of herself. Upon arriving at the office, Abraham quickly moved to the side, taken by suprise by something as he heard someone bang against the glass wall next to him. He titled his head to the side and saw a walker banging against the glass wall of an adjacent conference room.
"How come gorgeous over here is still standing?" He asked Sasha.
"He can't get out." Sasha replied as Abraham tried to open the door to the conference room, "It's locked. We're fine. Stand watch or sleep? Your choice."
"I'll take the former." Abraham replied, "Do a little shopping, maybe."
He walked past her, walking over to the nearest trashcan as Sasha got up from the chair. Abraham pulled out a thrashbag from the thrashcan and started searching the room as Sasha walked over to the corner of the room and laid down on the floor, trying to get some sleep. She closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep as Abraham continued to search the place.
She opened her eyes a few moments later, realizing she was not going to fall asleep right now as Abraham saw her open her eyes. He walked closer to her, throwing the thrashbag aside and stopped in front of the desk separating him from her.
"Can't sleep?" He asked her.
"What does it look like?" Sasha replied with a question of her own as she sat up on the floor, looking at him as if he just asked her the most obvious question in the world. Abraham had to stop himself from making a joke where he would compare her to Noah, "
"I just wanted to know if it was a choice." Abraham shrugged as he turned away from her and walked over to the wall before leaning against it, " You have no idea how much I want to release that thing from this plane of existence." He let out an amused laugh as he looked around himself, "This our new home? Should we give him a name?"
"You got yourself into this." Sasha pointed out, "I was driving that car solo until you chose to come with which caused Rick to choose more people for this job. This is how Harold and Sanders joined us."
Abraham walked closer to the walker on the other side of the glass wall, setting his eyes on it, "Oh, I didn't have a choice there."
"Tell me why." Sasha wanted to know.
"You going stag was not an option." Abraham replied.
"Tell me why." Sasha repeated herself.
Abraham looked over his shoulder to look at her, "You were out of control for a good while there. If I didn't volunteer to come with you, I'm sure Trent would go instead of me as I saw how much he was worrying about about took my arm off on the road to paradise. You remember that?"
Sasha nodded in confirmation, "I do. I'm in control now."
"Me, too." Abraham nodded back.
"That's why you wanna kill that walker?" Sasha asked, "The one down the street? The guys in the car? 'Cause you're in control."
"'Cause loose ends make my ass itch." Abraham replied, "If I have not gotten my psyche situated straight, it's because the shit's continually been hitting the fan without respite.
"Oh, there's been respite. There was a party." Sasha reminded him.
"Oh, I remember that." Abraham replied as he reminded her of something that happened back at the party, "You had the time of your life there.
"You don't have to throw yourself out of a moving car to feel like you're calling the ball." Sasha pointed out, "That's easy. You jump out of an airplane, you don't have choices after that. Maybe you play some chicken with the ground, but you pull the rip cord, you live. But if you have a roof over your head, you have food, you have walls... you have choices. And without walkers and bullets and shit hitting the fan, you're accountable for them. I mean, hell, you're always accountable. It's just with all that other noise, you know people won't notice. Stand watch or sleep."
"The former." Abraham started as he moved towards the exit from the room, "Straight through the night if I will have to. We'll reassess in the morning."
"What do you mean?" Sasha asked.
She received no answer from Abraham as Abraham silently walked out of the office room, leaving herself all by herself there.
Duncan ran as fast as his legs could carry him as he could feel Manny, Alvin, Vince, Russell and Grace on his tail. He wouldn't have to worry about them catching up to him if it was only one person or two people, but it was an entire group of people who he doubted had friendly intentions going after him. He knew he wouldn't stand a chance against them if he tried to attack them head on.
He stopped in his tracks upon reaching the edge of the forest to catch his breath after a few moments of constant running. There was one more reason why he stopped in this one particular spot. It was when he had come ome across a place which he could hide in from those people, whoever they were. He found himself standing in front of an old construction site. He had no idea what kind of building was being built here before the world changed for the worse, but he didn't care about it.
What mattered to him right now was the fact the unfinished building had three floors. He nodded his head to himself, knowing it was a perfect place for him to hide from the people he was running away from right now. Knowing he had no time to lose, he quickly pushed himself into run again and ran into the area of the construction site. He looked around himself as he ran past various abandoned construction site equipment and vehicles, trying to find an entrance to the unfinished building
"Guys! I found him!" A voice sounded in the distance behind him as Duncan looked over his shoulder and saw Vince standing on the edge of the forest, in the same exact spot he was standing on when he found this construction site.
"Shit." Duncan thought to himself, knowing the amount of time he had time find the entrance to the unfinished building had just been reduced.
Vince started to make his way over to him, not waiting for his group to catch up to him as Duncan sighed internally in relief, having finally found the entrance to the unfinished building. He quickly ran through the hole which served as an entrance and started to run up the stairs, trying to reach one of the upper floors of the building as Vince followed him.
Hearing how Vince just ran into the staircase, Duncan was forced to abandon his plan of reaching the upper floors of the buildings for now as he knew how close Vince was to catching up to him now. He ran into the first floor of the building as soon as he reached the door leading to it. He looked around himself as he ran into the first floor, seeing a few gray cement walls around him.
He made his way to the end of the corridor and quickly ran through the hole in the wall in the size of a door. Upon running into the unfinished room he saw the wall in front of him was not even started, leaving a large hole and a fall down in it's place. He ran over to the edge of the wall and looked down, seeing several steel pikes standing in the place he would fall into if he tried jumping off this floor.
He nodded his head to himself, coming up with a plan how to handle Vince as Vince made his way into the room and started to make his way down the corridor towards the room he was in. He quickly leaned against the wall close to the entrance to the room he was in right now, intending to jump at Vince and attack him the moment he will try to step into this room.
Duncan didn't have to wait long to put his plan into action. Vince arrived at the room just a moment later. The member of the unknown hostile group rushed into the room and waved his gun around, trying to see if the person he was looking for was somewhere in it. Duncan punching him right in the face when he tried to look around the right side of the room was the next thing he knew.
Vince stumbled backwards a bit, trying to regain his balance in his feet as Duncan shoved himself at him to get another step of his plan done. He disarmed Vince, making him drop his weapon the floor, before Vince could regain his balance and grabbed him by his shoulders. Vince glared at Duncan, trying to free himself from his grasp as Duncan took him towards the edge.
Having realized where Duncan was taking him right now, Vince continued his attempts to free himself out from Duncan's grasp, becoming more desperate as they got closer to the edge, but unfortunely for him all of it was in vain. Duncan pushed him out of the room through the hole and the sound of Vince's body getting pierced through the pikes was the next thing the juvie heard.
Duncan walked over to the hole, stopping right on the edge and saw Vince's body. A few steel pikes pierced through Vince's body, leaving him only moments away from death as blood was coming out of all of his wounds. Vince weakly glared up at Duncan with a pained look on his face, knowing his death was only moment away before closing his eyes for good, meaning his death.
Duncan let out a sigh, relieved his plan worked as he watched how Vince just bleed out to death after his body was pierced by a few steel pikes. He knew he couldn't lower his guard now as he knew Vince's friends were coming and would arrive here soon, remembering hearing Vince call out for them before finding the entrance to this building. He doubted they would be friendly towards him after he just killed their friend.
He looked over his shoulder upon hearing someone running up the stairs, realizing Vince's friends had just arrived at the construction site. He ran out of the room right after, knowing his plan won't work again and hid behind a tall pile of planks.
Daryl quietly walked through the forest, keeping his eyes open for the people he had managed to distance himself from a few moments ago as he wanted to find them and give them the insulin he had stolen from them back to them. It didn't took him long to find them. He saw them sitting on the fallen log after a few minutes of searching. The group of three was completely unaware of Daryl's presence as he slowly walked over to him.
"Drop the gun." He told them, letting them know of his presence as stopped in his tracks and aimed his crossbow at them. The unknown man got up from the floor and aimed his pistol at him, "Drop it." The unknown man complied and lowered his pistol, "Give it to me." The unknown man once again complied and handed him his pistol, "I came all this way. What you got for the duffel? You put me through too much shit just to give it back. Principle of the thing. What you got besides this gun?"
The unknown woman shook her head at him, "Nothing."
"What was that thing you were carving?" Daryl asked.
The unknown man reached into his pocket and pulled out a figure he carved out of wood, "My grandfather taught me how..."
"Don't care. It'll do." Daryl cut him off as he took the figure from him. He threw the bag towards them, "Take it. It's all there." The bag landed in front of the unknown man as Daryl turned away from them, "Good luck. You're gonna need it."
He stopped dead in his tracks as he heard a car driving towards them. He looked in the direction of it and saw a pickup driving towards him. He quickly hid behind the nearby cover behind the tree as the unknown man and his group looked at the pickup as it stopped in front of them. A few unknown people got out of it. All of them were carrying various machine rifles.
"Let's end this." The man in front of the group said.
"It's ours." The unknown woman replied, repeating the same words she used when she and her group encountered Daryl for the first time, "We earned what we took."
"You're gonna return what you took." The man in front of the group replied, "You're gonna pay for the gas it took to come out here and for all the time these men took out. It's over. You know the rules."
"Your rules are batshit!" The unknown woman shouted at him as Daryl silently watched the exchange of the words from his cover.
"We're not going back, Wade." The unknown man added, "We're done kneeling!"
"Don't change the subject, asshole." The man in front of the group pointed out as another pickup drove into the area.
Daryl looked in the direction the pickup came from and saw a few more unknown people walking towards them. All of them were carrying various machine rifles, just like the people the group of three were talking with. The group of three got themselves ready to flee the area as Daryl came out of his cover and walked towards them, realizing those were the same people who attacked him and his group back in the town.
"Come on." He stopped behind the group of three and pointed in the direction which was free of any threats as the group of three looked at him. He grabbed Tina and wrapped her arm around his shoulder as the unknown man and the unknown woman ran in the direction he had just pointed towards.
The group of four continued to run forward themselves, trying to flee the scene and get away from those people, whoever they were. They managed to find a decent hiding spot behind a tree and a bunch of sticks after a few moments of running. They crouched down behind the trees and the sticks, trying to keep themselves hidden.
"Hey." Daryl called out for the unknown man as he pulled out the pistol he had taken from his earlier. The unknown man looked at him as he held his pistol out to him, "Take it."
The unknown man took the pistol from him and looked ahead of himself again, keeping his eyes open at their surroundings as the unknown group continued to move through the forest in search of the unknown man and his group.
"Eyes open." The unknown male voice echoed from the area in front of them. It sounded like it came from a walkie-talkie, "You cover your quadrant. Go to alpha channel."
"Love you, Sher." Tina said to the unknown woman now named Sher as she rested her head on her knees, the effects of the lack of insulin getting the best of her, "You didn't have to for me."
Daryl looked around himself and saw one heavily burned walker stuck to a rock. He slowly walked closer to it and shook the bushes in front of the walker, earning the attention of one member of the hostile group. The man pulled out his pistol and started to walk towards Daryl, unaware he will get attacked by the walker.
The walker grabbed him from behind by his arm as soon as he walked past the rock. The man quickly forgot about the noise he heard a moments earlier and screamed in pain as the walker sunk it's teeth in his arm. He hit the walker with the butt of his walker, managing to free his arm from it's teeth as he killed it for good.
He moved back towards his group, looking at his now bitten arm, "Wade, I'm bit! Wade, I'm bit!" He knelt down, placing his bitten arm on the rock as Wade ran over to him and started wrapping a line around his arm, "Take it off me. Do it! Just take it off!
"I'll get your watch after." Wade said as he pulled out his machete and brought it down on the man's hand, slicing it clean off. The man screamed in pain as his arm was separated from the rest of his body. After slicing his friends arm off, he spoke to it, "All right, that's it. Time to go home. Cam got a boo-boo."
"Are you sure?" The man on the other side of the walkie-talkie replied as Wade picked up Cam's hand from the ground.
"Oh, yeah." Wade confirmed as he took the watch off Cam's hand before throwing the limb aside, "He only wanted to take this so far. And he only wants ass that's willing, you know? Inform Alvin and Manny and their crew about it too." He put the watch in his pocket as he picked up Cam from the ground, wrapping his arm around him, "Come on, Cam. Let's walk it off."
The unknown man watched Wade and Cam walk away from them before turning around to look at Daryl, "We thought you were with them. We knock you over the head, tie you up, threaten to kill you... why the hell did you come back?"
"Maybe I'm stupid, too." Daryl replied as Sher injected some insulin into Tina's arm, getting her back in shape.
Abraham walked out of the office room and looked out of the window next to the door. He looked around the area out of the window and a grin grew on his face shorty after, having noticed something on the nearby bridge he and his group will certainly make a good use of in the future. He walked out of the office building, beginning to head towards the bridge.
He arrived at the top of the bridge a few moments later. On top of the bridge, he saw an abandoned humvee and a walker impaled on the bridge fence. He set his eyes on the walker as the walker reached towards him, even though it was unable of reaching him. He looked away from the walker, wanting to search the area before he will take care of it.
He walked over to the humvee and saw a crate laying on the trunk of the vehicle. He walked towards it and stopped in front of it, placing his M16 aside. He opened the crate, finding out it contained a few RPG's grenades.
"Well, howdy, gentlemen." He said the moment he said his eyes on the RPG's as he picked the grenade and eyed it for a moment before placing it back in the crate. He closed the crate and search the rest of the trunk of the humvee, finding a box small. He opened it and saw a few cigars in it, "I'll be dammed. Looks like me and Izzy will have the cigars we promised ourselves a while back, after all."
He smiled as he picked up one cigar and sniffed it. His smiled widened. Those were goods cigars. He placed it back in the pocket and looked at the impaled walker, remembering it had an RPG launcher slouched over it's back from when he looked out of the window. He grabbed his M16 and walked over to the walker. He set his machine rifle against the wall and climbed onto the fence to get the launcher.
He tried to get the RPG launcher off the walker for the few next moments, but unfortunely for him it turned out to be way harder than he thought. He screamed in frustation as got himself back on the bridge and walked back to the humvee, wanting to smoke a cigar to calm himseld down and to figure out the way he could get his hands on the RPG launcher.
After litting up the cigar, he looked at the walker again and saw it's impaled rotted shoulder was starting to slide completely through the fence post. The walker fell to the ground shorty after, leaving the launcher dangling from the fence by its strap. Abraham climbed back onto the fence, now being able to retrieve the RPG launcher without any problem.
Not wasting any time, he quickly took all the things he managed to find on the bridge and made his way back to the office building, having no further reason to remain on the bridge.
Sasha looked away from the window she was looking out of as she heard him open the door and walk into the office room. Her eyes immediately caught the sight of the things Abraham brought with himself, "Where do you get that?"
"It is the fruit of some off-the-chart stupidity." Abraham replied, putting the RPG launcher and the box with the grenades on the table, " Some grade-A, butt steak idiocy."
Sasha looked way from him to look out of the window again, "Self-awareness is a beautiful thing."
"Yes, it is." Abraham nodded in agreement as he stepped closer to Sasha, "You see, I know this group and I know Rick." Sasha looked at him again and leaned against the wall, "And whatever happened back there is being managed and kicked right up into its own ass one way or another. I know that. We got beer... and air conditioning... and walls. The table is set for the rest of our lives, and I hope those years to be long and fruitful. I see that time before me... and I've been feeling the urge to make some plays... before the great cosmic Pete comes to cut my throat unceremoniously and I gurgle my last breath. Well, things are gonna go on for a while before that, and that hadn't occurred to me before. I've been kind of living check to check on that point. I like the way you call bullshit, Sasha. I finally understand why Noah is Izzy's best friend. I believe I'd like to get to know you a whole lot better."
Sasha chuckled in amusement, "That one of your plays? What makes you think I want that?"
"A man can tell." Abraham replied.
Sasha let out another chuckle, turning to look out of the window again, "Well, you got some stuff to take care of."
"Yeah." Abraham nodded, letting out a chuckle of his own, "I do."
Daryl, the unknown man, Sher and Tina walked through the forest after managing to lose the tail of the group who was going after the latter three. Things weren't as tense between them as they were earlier as the unknown mna, Sher and Tina now knew Daryl wasn't the with the people they were trying to escape from and Daryl knew they attacked him just because they thought he was with the people they were escaping from.
"So you knew 'em? Still you thought I was one of them?" Daryl asked, walking next to the unknown man.
"Where we were... we were there since the beginning. We still didn't know everyone." The unknown man replied, "Back when we first threw in with them, it was as good as a place as any. Then things got harder people got harder. Human nature kicked in and it became a truly unique kind of shitshow."
"People will trade anything for safety, for knowing that they're safe." Sher stated.
"Everything." The unknown man added, "So they got nothing left except just... existing."
"Hey, nobody's safe anymore." Daryl stated, "Can't promise people that anyhow."
"You could promise the people who want to hear it." The unknown man pointed as Tina froze her in her tracks after setting her eyes on something next to them. After realizing what it was, she quickly pushed herself into run towards it as the rest of the group followed her, "Hey, Tina, hold up."
They followed Tina through the forest towards the place which caught her attention. She stopped a few seconds later, making them stop too and set her eyes on the burned greenhouse in front of them. The group of four could notice two burned bodies which were incased in a melted glass laying on the floor inside it. The unknown man, Sher and Tina quickly recognized them as someone they knew from when the world was normal.
"Carla and Delly." Tina said as Sher covered her mouth with her hand in shock, "That's them." She walked into the burned greenhouse, explaining to Daryl who they were, "Me and Sher used to babysit them when they were kids. Everyone said that they went out north when it all started. We didn't know."
"I did this." The unknown man said with a guilty look on his face.
Sher turned to look at him, "We did this."
Tina pulled out some flowers from the ground and walked over to the two bodies. She crouched down in front of them to lay down the flowers and pay her respect. It was when she noticed something. An eye in of the bodies opened. She screamed in fear, realizing Carla and Delly had turned into the walkers as walker Carla and walker Delly broke through the glass.
The two walkers grabbed Tina, bringing her down to the floor and bit into her neck. Daryl, Sher and the unknown man quickly rushed in her aid, but unfortunely it was already too late to do anything to save her. Daryl quickly killed walker Carla and walker Delly as Tina screamed in pain again, knowing her death was just a matter of moments right now.
Sher knelt down in front of Tina, "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, baby. We had to try. We had to try. We had to. I'm so sorry."
She pressed her forehead against Tina's as Tina closed her eyes, having just died from her wounds. Sher continued to cry and apologize to her sister as Daryl and the uknown man watched the scene silently.
After losing Tina and making sure she won't turn into a walker, Daryl and the unknown man searched the burned greenhouse, looking for something they could use to dig a grave for her and found two shovels. They walked out of the greenhouse and started digging a grave for Tina right after finding the shovels in the greenhouse as Sher sat down on the ground behind them with a saddened look on her face.
Daryl stopped digging for a second as he looked between the unknown man and Sher, debating with himself if he should offer them something he's been thinking about offering them ever since the escaped from their old group. He nodded his head a moment later, having decided to make them this offer. Despise how their first meeting went, the unknown man and Sher seemed like they were good people.
"Hey. How many walkers you killed?" He asked, making the unknown man stop digging and look at him in confusion, "Just answer the question."
"A lot." The unknown man replied, "A couple dozen at least."
"How many people you killed?" Daryl asked him another question.
"None." The unknown man responded.
"Why?" Daryl wanted to know.
"Why haven't I killed anybody?" The unknown man replied with a question of his own as turned away from Daryl and started digging again the grave for Tina again, "Because if I did, there'd be no going back. There'd be no going back to how things were."
"I'm from a place where people are still like they were... more or less, better or worse." Daryl said as the unknown man looked at him again. He shifted his gaze between him and Sher a few times and nodded at him, acknowledging his offer and looking quite interested in it.
Duncan held his breath, keeping himself hidden behind a pile of planks as Grace and Russell walked through the floor he was in right now, looking for him and Vince. The juvie did his best not to make any noise and movement as he knew Grace and Russell easily could have been allerted by the slightest noise and movement because there was nothing else that could make those things on this floor aside from him.
Grace walked into the room where Duncan had pushed Vince off the edge into the steel pikes and looked around herself, trying to see if either of the people she was searching for right now was there. There wasn't anyone there. She was about to walk out of the room, but something made her stop dead in her tracks. She narrowed her eyes at the hole in front of her, hearing snarling come from over there.
She walked over to the edge of the room and looked below her. Her eyes snapped in suprise upon seeing what was the source of the snarling. She saw Vince or rather his walker. He was laying on the ground, his body pierced through the steel pikes. She shook her head and turned away from the view a few seconds later, wanting to inform Russell about her recent finding.
"Russell!" She called out for him as she walked out of the room, "I found Vince!"
"Really?" Came Russell's voice from the other side of the floor as Grace stopped in her tracks for a second and looked towards the pile of planks before pushing herself into walk again, "Where is he?"
"He's dead! The guy we were chasing must have killed him! The bastard pushed him down into the steel pikes. They pierced right through him!" Grace explained as she walked out of Duncan's view down the corridor towards where Russell was right now.
"What? Are you serious?" Russell asked in suprise, "Dammit. Did you found anything which may lead us to the bastard who killed him?"
"No. I couldn't find any trace of him." Grace replied, "C'mon. We need to tell Manny and Alvin about this. They should be checking the upper floors right now."
"Shit. They won't be happy about this" Russell stated.
Hearing how Russell and Grace exited the floor through the door and walked into the staircase to inform Manny and Alvin about Vince's death, Duncan knew it was his chance to move out and to try to leave the area the area. He moved out of his hideout behind the pile of planks and started to make his way down the corridor towards the exit from the first floor.
He never reached his destination, though as it was when Russell charged at him from the room in the middle of the corridor. Grace was right behind him. Duncan gritted his teeth as a glaring Russell pinned him against the wall, realizing Grace and Russell played him into believing they left the floor. Grace must have noticed him hiding behind the pile of planks when she paused in her tracks for a a second shorty after leaving the room.
Knowing he had to act quickly, Duncan headbutted Russell. Russel stumbled backwards, freeing Duncan from his grasp as Grace replied to this action by aiming her gun at Duncan. Seeing this Duncan quickly charged towards her and grabbed her rifle by the barrel, knowing she was the only thing standing in his way and preventing him from leaving the floor. He quickly lifted the barrel of the rifle at the ceiling in the exact same time as Grace pulled the trigger.
Thankfully, the bullets didn't hit Duncan and hit the ceiling instead because of Duncan making her aim her rifle at the ceiling just a second before she pulled the trigger. He raised his fist of his free hand up, intending to punch Grace, but someone stopped him from doing so. It was when he felt someone grab him by his shoulders. Russell had collected himself after receiving a headbut from Duncan and now was more than ready to finish what he started.
He moved Duncan away from Grace and threw him on the floor. He started to walk towards Duncan with an angered look on his face as Duncan quickly reached for his holstered pistol, knowing there was no sense in doing things quietly anymore and aimed it at Russel. Having no chance to react to Duncan aiming his pistol on him, Russel ended up dead on the floor with a bullet hole in the middle of his forehead right after.
He tried to get himself up from the floor right after ending Russell's life, but something stopped him. Grace stepped on him, pinning him to the floor as she kicked his pistol out of his grasp. She aimed her rifle, intending to end his life for killing two of her comrades. Her eyes widened before she could pull the trigger as gunfire echoed right behind her.
She gasped in pain, dropping her rifle to the floor as a few bloodied bullet wounds appeared on her body. Blood started to pour of her mouth as she fell down to the floor, bleeding out to death. Duncan looked ahead of himself and saw the person who saved him from Grace's wrath. It was Sanders. The black skinned young man lowered her smoking UMP45.
"You alright?" She asked him.
Duncan slowly got himself back on his feet, picking up his pistol as he did so, "Yeah. Thanks. She almost got me. What are you doing here?"
"I and Harold went to look for you and Daryl after you two got separated from us. We heard some noise coming from over here and went to check this out. This is how I found you. " Sanders explained, "Where's Daryl? Is he somewhere around here too?"
"I don't think so. We got separated from each other in the same time we got separated from you, Harold, Abraham and Sasha." Duncan replied as Sanders nodded in understanding.
"Y-You bastards." Grace weakly let out as Duncan started to walk over to Sanders. She glared at Duncan, "You murdered Vince and Russell..." She shifted her glare to Sanders, letting out a painful grunt as she did so, "And now your friend murdered me. Fucking murderers..."
Duncan looked at her like she had grown the second head after hearing her accusation, "What are you talking about?"
"You don't have right to call us murderers. All we did was protect ourselves from you." Sanders replied.
"W-We weren't planning to kill him after we spotted him in the forest you dumb bitch. If we wanted to kill him from the start, we would have shot him down in the forest!" Grace replied, feeling herself becoming weaker with each passing second, "I-If he wouldn't ran away from us the moment we noticed him, we could have just talked with each other and go our separate ways as you aren't with the people we're looking for you. But no. He just had to kill Vince. Things changed when he killed Vince..."
Grace didn't got a chance to finish what she was saying. She let out one final breath and died from the blood loss. Sanders and Duncan stared at her unmoving lifeless corpse for a few seconds before turning to look at each other.
"Where's Harold?" Duncan asked her.
"He went to check the upper floors." Sanders replied.
Duncan's eyes widened, remembering Grace telling Russell about Alvin and Manny checking the upper floors, "He went to check the upper floors? Shit. We gotta hurry."
"Why?" Sanders asked as Duncan turned away from her and rushed towards the exit from the floor.
"The other two are searching the upper floors right now. Harold might be walking right into them right now." Duncan replied, rushing into the staircase.
Sanders' eyes widened as she followed him, "There's more of them?"
"Yes." Duncan nodded in confirmation, starting to make his way up the stairs to find Harold on one of the upper floors of the unfinished building, "More of their friends are coming here too as only a few of them followed me here. We gotta hurry if we want to leave the area before they will make their way here."
Harold slowly walked along the floor of the third floor of the unfinished building, holding his Striker 12 shotgun in his ready. He didn't check the second floor and went straight to the third one as the entrance to the second floor was 1/3 blocked by something. He thought about climbing over it, but quickly changed his mind about doing it when he heard snarling, a lot of it, coming from the second floor.
Knowing there was no reason for him to check the second floor as he doubted anyone would hide in the floor infested with the undead, he immediately started to make his way up the stairs to the third floor of the unfinished building. He reached the entrance to the third floor shorty after. He walked through the hole in the wall acting as an entrance and looked around himself to get to know his understardings a bit better.
It seemed like the floor he had just entered was in an early stage of building when this construction site was abandoned. There was a lot of construction site equipment and planks splattered around the floor. The walls were thin and weren't made of cement. He wouldn't be suprised if he would be able to easily make a large hole in it by shooting at it. The other thing worth mentioning about this floor he spotted was a large hole in the floor at the end of the corridor.
Not wasting any time, he pushed himself into walk and started to walk forward himself. He looked around himself, trying to spot if there was anyone aside from him on this floor on the building as he proceeded to make his way forward himself. He nodded his head to himself after as he reached the part of the corridor where there was no floor a few moments later, coming to conclusion there wasn't anyone except for him on this floor.
"Perharps Sanders had more luck on the lowers floors." He thought to himself as he looked at the lower walker filled floor through the hole in the floor he was standing in front of. He will have to watch out when turning around as he didn't want to risk falling down the lower floor. Landing on the cement would certainly hurt and he didn't want to deal with the walkers infesting the lower floor.
He slowly turned away from the hole and started to make his way towards the exit from the floor, intending to go back to the lower floors where he suspected Sanders still or was already making her up to him either by herself or with either Duncan or Daryl or both of them, depending if the noise they come from this construction site was really them or if this noise were the walkers, presumably of the constructions workers, infesting the second floor
It was a few gunshots echoed from the lower floors. He stopped in his tracks as soon as he heard them, not recognizing those gunshots as Sanders' UMP45. He knew it couldn't be Duncan or Daryl as neither of them brought a machine rifle with themselves on this operation. Knowing it had to be someone unknown to him and his group, he increased his pace and was about to push himself into run.
He didn't get to push himself into run, though as a someone crashed through the thin wall next to him. He stopped dead in his tracks and titled his head to the side to look what happened and saw a mexican man charging towards him. His reaction to seeing him charge at him was instant. He aimed his Striker 12 at him as Manny crashed into him, making him lose his grip on his Striker 12.
"Remember not to kill him, Manny." It was when another man came through the wall as Harold's eyes widened, realizing there were on the floor for this entire time and he failed to notice him, "Those shots from the lower floor came from Grace's. Whoever she just fired at, must be his friend. We will decide what to do with him and his friends after Grace, Russell and Vince will his friends."
Manny titled his head to look at him, "This is exactly what I was planning to do. You don't need to tell me this."
Alvin raised his right hand in a defensive manner, "I'm just saying. I know you and sometimes you can't stop yourself. You do remember what happened on the night we met with when that one eldery couple attacked us, right?"
Manny smiled at him and shook his head, "You know me so well, Alv."
"Who would I be if I didn't know you, right?" Alvin smiled back at him.
Harold backed away from Manny and Alvin as Manny turned towards him again. Manny charged towards him as Harold moved to towards his Striker 12 to grab it. He didn't reach it in time, though as Manny moved towards him again. Manny crashed right into him, making him stumble backwards and almost making him fall to the floor. Knowing he had to act fast if he didn't want to be caught by them, Harold leaned against one table and reached behind himself, grabbing a plank which was laying on it.
He waited for Manny to charge at him again before putting his plan of striking back into action. Manny charged at him again again a second later, ready to knock him out as Harold tightened his grip around the plank. He swung it at Manny as soon as Manny got close to him. He hit Manny right in the fact as Manny stumbled backwards, clutching his nose as he felt like blood started coming out of it.
Harold punched him again and again, making him fall down on the ground. Seeing what just happened to Manny, Alvin pulled out his UZI and aimed it at Harold, growing worry for his partner. Harold quickly rushed towards the nearest cover he could use which happened to be a pile of cement bags as Alvin opened fire at him. Harold pressed his back against the cement bags, feeling how the bullets from Alvin's UZI pierced through the bags.
Powdered cement began to fall slowly on him as Harold knew he had to act wait because he didn't want to wait give Manny enough time to collect himself. He didn't want to wait both of them at the same time. His eyes widened as Alvin stopped firing at him, followed by the sound of someone starting to reload their gun. Knowing it was his opportunity to strike back, Harold acted.
He got himself back on his feet, getting himself out of his cover and threw the plank he hit Manny with a few moments earlier at Alvin. Alvin finished reloading his UZI and looked ahead of himself again, intending to open fire at Harold again. His eyes widened, seeing a plank flying right towards him. The plank hit him right in the face. He lose his balance in his feet and fell to the floor, his UZI sliding across the floor away from him.
Seeing this as a chance to get his hands back on his Striker 12, Harold moved out of his cover and made his way towards were his shotgun was laying. He picked it up from the floor and looked towards his opponents again, ready to use it on them in case if they will try to attack him. It was when he saw Manny managed to compose himself and was on his way to attack him again.
Having on other option to defend himself, Harold pulled the trigger of his Striker 12 and his weapon fired right after. The round hit Manny right in the stomach, making him let out a painful gasp and stumble backwards as Harold fired his weapon at him again. It was enough end Manny's life. His eyes rolled to the back of his skull. His lifeless corpse fell down to the ground like a ton of bricks, not a single breath living his lungs
Alvin slowly got himself back on his feet and saw what happened to his partner, "Manny!" He shouted in a pained voice the moment he saw his partner's body hit the ground like a ton of bricks. His turned his rage filled eyes towards Harold, seeing red and charged at him with pure killing intention him. He charged towards him without picking up hiz UZI from the floor as rage overshadowed his senses, "I'll kill you! You hear me you fucking four eyes! You're dead! You're fucking dead!"
Harold aimed his Striker 12 at him and was about to pull the trigger, intending to have him end up the same way Manny did as he knew Alvin couldn't be reasoned with peacefully. He didn't got a chance to fire his weapon as Alvin crashed right into him. The two of them fell through the hole in the floor, falling into the lower floor of the building.
Harold clenched his teeth in pain after colliding with the floor, feeling how his Striker 12 shotgun fell out of his grasp upon them impact of the landing. He had no idea where Alvin landed. All he could hear from Alvin right now was Alvin's painful grunt. He slowly got himself back on his feet, letting out a painful grunt as he did so. He tried to walk over to his Striker 12 to pick it up, but Alvin stumbled right into him.
Alvin slowly grabbed him by his shoulders and pinned him against the wall. He looked straight into his eyes and Harold looked straight into fury filled ones, seeing Alvin's eyes were differently colored. His right eye was green and his left eye was blue. Harold looked over Alvin's shoulder, having heard something walking towards them and saw a walker coming towards them.
Harold's eyes widened, having forgotten about this floor being infested by the undead as he slightly panicked at the view of more walkers entering the part of the floor he and Alvin were in right now, because Alvin didn't seem to notice the walkers or didn't care about them. His panic didn't last long, though as he quickly got an idea how to get out of the situation he found himself in.
He clenched his teeth again as Alvin punched him right in the face, not doing anything to defend himself against him because it would just interrupt him in his plan. It wasn't long before the walker in front of the group of walkers catched up them. Just as Alvin was about to punch Harold again, the undead sunk it's teeth in his left arm close to his elbow.
Alvin screamed in pain, freeing Harold from his grasp as he turned around to face the walker which just bit him in his left arm. He punched the walker, making it stumble away from him a bit and felt how his eyes widened after seeing how many walker just walked into the area he and Harold were in right now. He punched the walker again as the undead shoved itself right at him.
Knowing his plan was working exactly the way he wanted it do, Harold quickly pushed himself into run and ran past Alvin. Seeing this, Alvin was about to follow him but was quickly forced to change his plans as the walker shoved itself at him again. Alvin grabbed it by it's shoulder, trying to stop it from bitting into him again as he realized he found himself in a trap because all of the walkers on this floor ignored Harold and focused their attention entirely on him instead.
Harold let out a deep breath as he continued to make his way towards the exit from the floor, doing his best to make sure the walker will have their attention on Alvin instead of him. He debated with himself if he should try to retrieve his Striker 12, but ultimately backed out of it, thinking it would be too risky for him to try and would definitely earn the attention of some of the walkers. The only thing he focused on right now was safely getting to the slightly blocked exit from this floor which he accomplished a few seconds later.
"You better pray we won't see each other again you fucking four eyes, because I promise I will put a bullet through your head when it will happen!..." It was the last thing he heard from Alvin before the walker infested floor by climbing over something and finding himself on the staircase.
He titled his head towards the stairs leading towards the lower floors as he heard someone running up them. It was when Duncan and Sanders ran into his view. He immediately set his eyes on Duncan, "Duncan?" He shifted his gaze from him to Sanders, "You found him"
"Yes." Sanders stopped in her tracks and nodded at him, "He was on the second floor."
Duncan stopped in his tracks, "We need to keep our eyes open. I got attacked by some unknown group shorty after I got seperated from you and the others. I and Sanders managed to kill three of them, but but two of them are still here somewhere."
"I know about those two." Harold replied, "I killed one and the other one is fighting the walkers over there right now. He's bitten and doesn't have any weapon himself. I don't think he is going to make it."
"Where's your shotgun?" Sanders asked, noticing Harold was not carrying his Striker 12 anymore.
"I lost it over there." Harold pointed towards the floor he had just climbed out of, "I thought about retrieving it before leaving the floor, but I realized it would be too risky and would definitely shift the attention the walkers had on the guy who is fighting them right now from him to me."
"Okay." Duncan nodded in understanding. It seemed like Alvin and Manny won't be a threat for them anymore, "We gotta go. There's more of them coming here. They may arrive here at any moment."
"Alright. Where are we going?" Harold asked.
"To the place where I left my motorcycle." Duncan replied.
Harold and Sanders nodded at him. The group of three quickly headed down the stairs, with Duncan leading them. They reached the ground level several seconds later and from there Duncan started leading Harold and Sanders towards the place where he left his motorcycle after getting separated from his group. They ran into the forest shorty after, leaving the construction site behind them.
It was when they heard gunshots coming from the construction site. The group of three ignored them, though as they only cared about distancing themselves further from the construction site because they didn't want to come across more of Manny and Alvin's friends. They continued to run through the forest for several more moments and didn't stop until reaching their destination.
Harold put his hands on his knees, panting as he tried to catch his breath, "That was close."
"Yeah. You can say that, man." Duncan nodded in agreement as he turned to look at Sanders with a smile on his face, "Thanks for the help back there. You saved my ass. I was a dead man before you showed up."
Sanders slightly blushed at his words and nodded, "No problem."
"Do you know who these people were?" Harold wanted to know if Duncan knew anything about Manny, Alvin, Russell, Grace and Vince.
"No idea." Duncan shook his head, "I just came across them in the forest and overheard them talking about one guy, possibly their leader or someone highly ranked in their group. They noticed I was watching them shorty after them and went after me right after, sending one of their friends to get more people."
"Do you think the friend they send to get more people was the one who fired the gunshots we heard shorty after running into the forest?" Sanders asked.
"Most likely." Duncan nodded at her, finding this to be quite likely, "Harold said that the guy he left fighting the walkers didn't have any weapons to defend himself against them."
"We should go." Harold said, "Abraham and Sasha are waiting for us back in the town. We shouldn't keep them waiting. We should hurry too. I don't want those people to catch up with us."
Duncan nodded at him as he grabbed his motorcycle by it's handlebar and picked it up from the ground, "Okay. Lead the way."
"What about Daryl?" Sanders asked, "We're not going to look for him?"
"Don't worry about him. You don't know him as well as we do. The only person who can kill Daryl is Daryl." Duncan replied, letting her know not to worry about the Dixon, "Whenever he is right now, I'm sure he is trying to make his way back into the town."
"Okay." Sanders nodded, "I'll trust you on this."
After giving Tina a proper burial, Daryl took the unknown man and Sher to the place where he left his motorcycle. He crouched down in front of his motorycle and started removing the leaves from it, uncovering it as Sher and the unknown man watched him from behind.
"I can walk it from here. Till we meet up with my friends." Daryl said, leaving more leaves from his motorcycle, "They got a car. You can ride with them."
"How many friends you say there were?" The unknown man asked.
"I didn't. There's five of 'em." Daryl replied, grabbing his motorycle by it's handle bar and picking it up from the ground.
"Where are they?" The unknown masked asked him another question.
"We're gonna find out." Daryl responded, beginning to lead his motorycle away.
"How do you know they even got away?" The unknown man wanted to know, "That they didn't get taken?"
Daryl stopped for a second and looked over his shoulder at them, "I don't."
He turned to look ahead of himself again, pushing himself into walk again as Sher looked at the unknown man and nodded at him. The unknown man nodded back at her and pulled out his pistol, aiming it at Daryl.
"Oh, damn it." Daryl muttered to himself, realizing what was happening as he let go off his motorcycle and moved to the side. He turned to look at the unknown man and Sher again, seeing the former aiming his pistol at him as his motorcycle fell to the ground. He tried to take off his crossbow off his back and aim his crossbow at them, but unfortunely for him he didn't have enough time do so as the unknown man would kill him before he wouldn't take it off.
"I'm sorry." The unknown man looked at him with an apologetic look on his face, "Give her the crossbow."
"You gonna go back?" Daryl asked, "You gonna be safe?"
"Shut up." The unknown man told him to shush.
"Ain't nowhere safe no more." Daryl pointed out.
The unknown man gestured towards Sher with his head, "Give her the crossbow."
"You gonna kneel?" Daryl asked as the unknown man fired his pistol at the tree next to Daryl, letting him know he won't hesitate to shot him if he won't give him a choice.
Having no other choice but to comply, Daryl took his crossbow off his back and handed it to Sher. Sher took it from him and slouched it over her back before taking the pistol from the unknown man. The unknown man picked up the motorycle from the ground and started it up as Sher walked over to him and reached into her bag, pulling out a bandage.
"Patch yourself up." She said as she threw the bandage to Daryl and took her seat on Daryl's motorcycle. She looked at him with an apologetic look on her face, "We're sorry."
Daryl glared at them, "You're gonna be."
It was the last thing he said to them, before they drove off and vanished from his view among the woods. After watching them drive away from him and regretting helping them and offering them a place in Alexandria, Daryl pulled out a small knife from his pocket as he had no other weapon to defend himself right now. He started to walk towards the town right after.
Fortunely for him, it seemed like Lady Luck smiled at him for all the crap he's been through today a few moments later as he managed to find a fuel filled fuel truck hidden between the bushes and the trees. After killing the walker in the driver's seat, he got himself into the truck and started up the engine. He drove out of the forest towards the town as soon as he turned on the engine.
Upon arriving at the town, he saw his name written on the door to the office building and saw Duncan's motorcycle standing next to the door which caused him to park the truck next to the building. Duncan, Abraham, Sasha, Sanders and Harold walked out of the building shorty after, all of them carrying all the stuff Abraham managed to find on the bridge. The other thing he noticed about them was Abraham's clothing as Abraham was now wearing a military uniform with a lot of medals on it.
After packing all the stuff into the truck, the group split up into their vehicles. Abraham, Sasha, Daryl and Harold went into the fuel truck as Duncan and Sanders sat down on Duncan's motorcycle, because there was no place for six people in the fuel truck. Duncan started up his motorcycle as Sanders hugged him from behind, making sure she won't fall off of it as she never drove on a motorcycle before.
Daryl started up the fuel truck again and started to drive towards the exit from the town, beginning to make his way back to Alexandria as Duncan and Sanders followed him, Harold, Abraham and Sasha on Duncan's motorcycle, driving next to the fuel truck. Daryl took his eyes off the road for a second and looked out of the window at Daryl and Sanders. Duncan noticed him looking at him and nodded his head at him as Daryl nodded back.
Daryl drove into the forested road as grabbed his walkie-talkie from the counter, calling out for Rick, "Rick, you copy?" He received no answer from Rick, "Chef. Are you there?" Chef stayed silent, "Chris. What about you?" He was once again met with nothing, but silence in response, "Anybody?" He finally heard something on the other side of the walkie-talkie, but couldn't understand what this person was saying, "Say it again?
It was when everyone in the fuel truck heard a terrified, "...Help."
Hope it wasn't that bad. See you in another chapter.
