I don't own Total Drama and The Walking Dead.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
Darth krayt1: No problem. :) I'm sorry to disappoint you but Alvin, Russell and Vince were OC's. They just happened to share the names with the characters from Telltale's TWD.
Brendan: Yup. The characters who went after Duncan were OC's indeed. For now, I don't have any plans for Duncan to get a dog.
Fan: I'm glad you liked the chapter :)
upcomingfactor: It will definitely be a stressful season for our characters. Especially once we will reach the second part of the season.
mcgman651: I'm glad you liked the chapter and liked the section with Duncan, Sanders and Harold. I had a lot of fun writing it. I'll consider your idea of having Wade return in the story in season 7 :)
ThEndymam: I'm glad you liked the chapter :)
Aztec 13: Likewise :)
Glenn had no idea how much time had passed since he climbed under the dumpster to hide himself from the walkers to stop them from tearing him apart, having lost the track of time a long time ago. There was one thing he was certain about, though as he remained hidden underneath the dumpster. He was extremely exhausted and could use a good drink and meal or two.
After making sure all of the walkers left the area and it was safe for him to leave his hiding place without getting eaten alive in the process, he slowly crawled out of the dumpster. He got himself back on his feet and looked around himself, trying to locate his bag as he was keeping his water bottle there. He spotted it a few seconds later. He quickly reached into it upon spotting it and pulled out a bottle water. He lifted it up to his mouth, attempt to drink from it, but unfortunely the bottle was empty.
Letting out a sigh, he tossed the empty bottle to the ground and started searching the area, trying to find something he could use to make it back to safely his group in Alexandria. He let out another sigh upon stumbling across the flare gun and it was not broken and in pieces. In the end, a pistol and a knife were the only useful things he found him around him.
"Heads up!" A voice sounded above him. He looked up to the source of it and saw Enid standing on the roof of the building next to him. She tossed him a water bottle and Glenn failed to catch it in time as he was too suprised to see her on the roof right now. The bottle landed on the ground, spilling the water all over the ground, "Shit. I said heads up."
"Enid?" Glenn asked as he narrowed his eyes at her. He didn't receive the answer from Enid as she moved out of his sight.
Quickly grabbing his bag from underneath the dumpster, Glenn moved towards the window which was leading inside the building next to him. He moved the white plastic sheet covering it away, knocking some stuff off it in the process. Now inside the building, Glenn slowly moved towards himself, keeping his guard up for any possible threats.
"Enid." He called out for Enid, hoping he will gain her attention, "What are you doing out here?"
"There's another water bottle in the corner." Enid replied a few seconds later, "Take it and go."
Doing as he was told, Glenn made his way to the corner Enid had told him to go and saw a water bottle there. He quickly picked it up and uscrewed it. He lifted it up to his mouth and took a long sip from it, finally having a drink ever since he got trapped underneath the dumpster. As he continued to drink the water, he noticed some other stuff such as empty cans laying around him.
He looked away from the empty cans and looked around himseolf, "You're not gonna answer me?"
"No." Enid responded.
"What happened in Alexandria?" Glenn asked her another question, despise her answer as he got himself back on his feet, "We heard that sound. The gunfire." Once he received no answer from Enid, he called out for her again, "Enid."
"What happened is what always happens." Enid gave him the answer he was waiting for the past several seconds, "People died."
The worst scenario instantly flew through Glenn's mind upon hearing her answer, "The herd broke through the walls?
"What herd?" Enid asked, confused.
"The walkers. They broke out of the quarry early." Glenn explained, "We got on them, but that sound, the air horn, what was that?"
"It was people." Enid replied, "You should go."
Glenn remained silent for several next seconds, growing worried for his friends and more importantly for his wife who were in Alexandria when it was attacked, "M-My wife. Maggie. Is she okay?" Once he was met with another long silence from Enid, he called out for her again, "Enid. Is Maggie okay? Answer me!"
After not receiving any answer from Enid for the next several seconds, he pushed himself into run and moved further into the building with the intention of finding Enid and getting the answers he wanted from her. He made his way to the upper part of the building, excepting to find her there since she was on the roof the last time he saw her.
He made his way to the upper floor of the building and saw it was completely empty. Enid was nowhere to be seen. He saw an open window a few steps away from him and quickly made his way to it before climbing through it, finding himself on the roof. He looked around himself after reaching the roof and saw Enid running away from the building down the street.
"Enid!" He called out for Enid as Enid ignored him and ran down the street. Seeing her running away, Glenn quickly started making his way towards the exit from the building with hopes of reaching her.
Alejandro looked out of the window of the building he had taken shelter in with Geoff and Brody after the three of the split up from their group to give them more time and ensure they will leave the town without the walkers reaching them. He nodded to himself as he took a good look around the street next to the building he had taken shelter in with this group. Streets seemed empty for now. It seemed like he, Geoff and Brody will be able to move out and return to Alexandria soon.
He turned away from the window as he felt someone put their hand on his shoulder. He looked at this person, seeing it was Geoff, "How are the things outside, bro? Are they any better or are we still trapped here?"
"Take a look yourself." Alejandro replied as Geoff looked out of the window, seeing the walkers were gone for now, "It seems like all the walkers have left the area after they kept us trapped for all this time. I think it will be safe for us to move out now."
"Alright." Geoff nodded in understanding, "I'll go let Brody know we will be moving out in a few minutes. Get yourself ready if you need to."
Alejandro nodded back at him, "Okay."
Geoff turned away from Alejandro and walked away from him, beginning to head in the place where he saw Brody for the last time. He opened the door leading into the room where he thought he will Brody and saw his friend leaning against the wall. His friend had a thoughtful look on his face. He must have been lost in his thoughts, because he didn't notice Geoff walking into the room.
"Hey." He called out for him, gaining his attention.
Brody pushed himself out of his thoughts and looked at Geoff, "Hey, bro. I'm sorry I didn't notice you coming in." He rubbed the back the back of his head, his expression turning more sheepish, "I was just lost my thoughts."
Geoff looked at him with a curious look on his face as he stopped next to him, "What are you thinking about, bro?"
"About what's been going on with us lately." Brody replied, letting out a sigh, "This is nothing how I imagined it."
Geoff raised his brow in a curious manner, "What do you mean by that?"
"After I saw you in the clinic, I thought things will be the same after they were before all of this started." Brody started his explanation, "I thought we would go back to the way things were before all of this. I thought we would party as much as we used to and do stuff both of them usually did before all of this, only this time accompanied by the friends I made in Alexandria and friends you made in your group." A saddened frown formed on his face as he uttered the next words, "I thought we would live like the world outside walls didn't exist. I was completely wrong, though."
"Don't dwell too much on it, bro." Geoff patted him on his shoulder, trying to comfort him a little, "To be honest I thought I and Bridge would be able to escape the world outside the walls too after Aaron and Brick first brought us into Alexandria. I even thought we would be able to have normal life like the things were back in the normal world after I saw how sheltered you and everyone else from Alexandria truly were. Just like you, I learned I was completely wrong about this matter."
"Let me guess." Brody said, "You realized it after all the crap that went down between Rick and Pete?"
"Yeah." Geoff nodded in confirmation, "That along with Dylan's death made me realize things will never go back to the way things were before all of this happened. We will never be able to fully escape the world behind the walls and live as if what happened since the walkers appeared never happened."
"Good to know I'm not the only disappointed idiot in this room. Makes me feel a bit better." Brody chuckled, "This is why I signed up for this job and joined you and Alejandro when the two of you went to distract the walkers from the rest. I don't want to be the idiot I was for all this time. I was to know how to handle myself against those things better than I did at the times whenever I was going to do my job at the construction site. This way I'll be able to keep myself and everyone else I care about safer."
Geoff smiled at the desire of protecting himself and the others his old friend just expressed, "Don't worry, bro. With my and my group to tutor you, you will be turned into a walker killing machine in no time. The same goes for the rest of Alexandria."
"Good to hear it. I can't wait to reach your level or the level your friends Abraham and Izzy showed when they saved Francine." Brody smiled back at him, " "I know I won't have to worry about dying after I will reach it because it's not like I will get shoot through the head anytime soon, right?"
"Shut up. Don't stay stuff like this, bro." Geoff grinned back at him and playfully hit his shoulder, "I came here to let you know to get ready. We will be leaving this place in a couple of minutes."
"Are we leaving?" Brody raised his brow, "Did the walkers left?"
"Yes." Geoff nodded in confirmation, "I asked Alejandro how were the things outside before I came to talk with you and he showed me the walkers have left the area."
"Okay. Let's go." Brody nodded in understanding as Geoff nodded back and turned away from him. The of two of them started to make their way towards Alejandro as Brody asked, "By the way, have you and Bridge thought about the name for your child?"
"We didn't got a chance to talk about it, yet but I thought about it lots of times already." Geoff replied, "A few ideas went through my head but I think we will wait with our decision for a name until Bridge's pregnancy will get more serious. Why are you asking?"
"I just want to know if you thought about naming your child after me?" Brody asked, "Brody is a name that suits both genders."
"I'll make sure to keep it in mind when I and Bridge will make our decision." Geoff chuckled as he walked into the place in the building where Alejandro was waiting for him and Brody.
Alejandro looked at them, standing next to the exit from the building, "There you two are."
"We're ready to head out. What about you?" Geoff questioned.
"I'm ready as well. I was waiting for you." Alejandro replied.
"Okay." Geoff nodded, "Let's go back home."
"You don't need to say it twice, bro." Brody said as Alejandro turned away from them and opened the exit from the building.
Alejandro walked out of the building as Geoff and Brody followed him. The three of them kept their eyes open for any walkers, knowing there still could have been some of them left in the area. Luckilly for them, there wasn't a single walker in the area as all of them must have left this place over the course of the night. They started to walk down the street, beginning to make their way towards Alexandria.
They were forced to stop dead in their tracks when a familiar face ran right into their view out of the corner a few moments ago. This familiar figure was Enid. They all looked at her in suprise, having not excepted to see her here out of all places as Enid froze in her tracks the moment she set her eyes on them. She let out a sigh, knowing she won't be able to get away from them without getting asked by questions.
Brody raised his brow, "Enid?"
"What are you doing here dudette?" Geoff asked.
"It doesn't matter." Enid quickly said, trying to get them away from the subject, "I saw Glenn not too far from here." She pointed towards where she saw Glenn, "If you will be fast, you will find him without any problem?"
"Glenn?" Alejandro asked, "Glenn is still in the town?"
"What about Nicholas?" Brody asked, "Was he with him?"
"No. I didn't saw him anywhere." Enid shook her head as Brody sighed, having realized what it meant.
"Okay." Geoff asked, "Let's go find Glenn."
"I'm not coming with you." Enid said as Geoff, Alejandro and Brody started to walk towards where she had just pointed towards.
Geoff stopped in his tracks again and looked at her, "What?"
"What are you talking about?" Brody asked, thinking he heard her wrong.
"I'm not coming with you and don't make me repeat myself again." Enid replied.
"Hold on a second. Is this why you are here?" Alejandro asked as Enid remained silent. It was the only answer he needed to get from her, "You were leaving Alexandria. Why?"
"Do you really want to have this conversation? You're just going to waste your time." Enid replied, "You're Alexandria was attacked by some people. They might need your help right now."
"Alexandria was attacked by some people?" Geoff asked, immediately growing worried for Bridgette and his unborn child.
Enid nodded in confirmation, "Yes."
Alejandro shook his head, growing worried for Heather, "We should go."
"Yeah." Geoff nodded in agreement, "We better hurry."
"Good luck." Enid wished them luck and turned away from them, wanting to distance herself from them.
"Wait a second, Enid." Brody said, "You're coming back with us."
Enid looked over her shoulder at him, "No, Brody. I'm not coming with you."
Brody shook his head at her and took a few steps towards her. "Yes. You are coming wth us. We're not leaving anyone behind."
"He's right." Geoff nodded in agreement, "We're not leaving you out there."
Enid turned around to face them, revealing she had a pistol with herself and aimed it at Brody who was the closest to her, "No. I'm not coming with you and don't make me repeat myself for the third time."
Brody's eyes widened when he saw Enid aim a pistol at him, "Whoa. Calm down, dudette."
Alejandro took a few steps towards Enid, "Give me the gun, Enid."
Enid moved her gun away from Brody and aimed it at Alejandro after seeing him move towards her, "Turn around and walk away."
"You're not gonna pull the trigger." Alejandro shook his head.
"I will if you make me." Enid replied as Alejandro reached his hand towards her and disarmed her, taking her pistol for himself, "Asshole."
"You point a gun at me and Brody and I'm the pendejo?" Alejandro retorted as Enid glared at him, "Now where did you say you saw Glenn?"
Rick walked along the walls of Alexandria, checking the state they were in right now as he didn't want to risk the walkers getting through the wall. As he continued to inspect the walls, he saw a familiar figure of Morgan in the distance. Morgan was doing his normal training routine with his stick until he saw Rick watching him in the distance. Rick started approaching him a few seconds later, making him stop his morning routine.
"Morgan." Rick called out for him as Morgan set his eyes on him
Morgan nodded at him, "Morning."
"We haven't talked. We should. A little later, okay?" Rick asked, walking past Morgan.
"Okay." Morgan gave him a nod of understanding.
Rick walked past Morgan and went back to his job of checking the state of the wall. He stopped for a brief second when he noticed a crack in the wall, with blood trickling through from the other side. He touched the blood, making a mental note to tell about it the rest later as glanced to the side, seeing Maggie and Bridgette standing together on the lookout post.
He made his way to the lookout post and climbed up the ladder, joining Maggie and Bridgette on top of it, "You don't have to be up here so much."
"I won't be." Maggie replied.
"I'll stay here for just a few more minutes." Bridgette added. She still had to go back to her work at the clinic as she still needed to watch over Scott, even though his condition has been getting better.
"This is the direction they'd come in." Maggie said, gesturing towards the direction she and Bridgette were looking at for all this time, "If either of them or all of them will send up a signal, it'll be from out there.
"Yeah." Rick nodded.
Bridgette let out a worried sigh, "Or it won't be."
"When we go out there, it's never easy, it's never simple." Rick began, trying to make Maggie and Bridgette less worried, "It's always a fight. But we've come back from harder things. From further away. Glenn, Geoff, Alejandro, Duncan, Daryl, Harold, Sanders, Abraham, and Sasha, they will, too. Maybe we don't wait for them to be back. We should start figuring out how to draw the walkers away. We have some food and water to last us a while and the walls are holding. We can take our time. Really think this through. Do it right. Clear it so they can- they can walk right in."
"I saw Judith in the house the other day." Maggie said, slightly smile forming on her face, "She's starting to- she's starting to look like Lori."
Rick smiled back and nodded, "Yeah.
"So you saw it too?" Bridgette asked with a smile on her face, "At first, I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me."
Having failed to catch up to Enid, Glenn started to make his way towards Alexandria as he wanted to reach it and find out if Maggie was okay or not after Enid refused to give him the answer to this question. As he was getting close to the forest, he took a turn to the left right when he noticed a something he could climb over and reach the forest faster.
He noticed a body leaning against the fence as he got closer to it. He slowed down, having recognized the body in front of him as David, despise the deceased Alexandrian having his back turned to him. He looked at him with a saddened look on his face as he stopped next to him, seeing he had a bullet hole in his forehead. Someone from his group must have put him out of his misery before they left him.
Turning his gaze away from the walkers, he reached his hand upwards and was about to climb over his fence and start making his way back to the Alexandria, but he changed in his mind as he thought about Enid again. He turned away from the fence and was about to head back into the town to look for her again but it was when he noticed four familiar figures of Enid, Alejandro, Geoff and Brody in the distance.
"Guys!" He called out for them, earning their attention as he pushed himself into run towards them. Enid, Alejandro, Geoff and Brody looked at him as he made his way to him. He set his eyes on Alejandro, Geoff and Brody, not spotting Enid, "What are you doing here? You didn't make your way back to Alexandria with the rest?"
"No." Geoff shook his head, "We were forced to leave the store after we saw how many walkers were heading towards us. I, Alejandro and Brody split up from the rest and tried to distract some of the herd to give the rest a better chance at getting out of town. Especially after we lost Annie and Beardo shorty after leaving the store."
"What about Nicholas?" Brody asked, "The two of you left the store together. Did the walkers get him?"
"No. He killed himself." Glenn replied as Brody, Geoff and Alejandro nodded in understanding, "The walkers surrounded and he just panicked. I tried to stop him, but it was too late. I had hid under the dumpster to stop the walkers from reaching me."
"We should go back to Alexandria." Geoff said, "We don't have much time."
"We can't go back, yet." Glenn said, "I stumbled upon Enid shorty after I managed to leave my hideout. She's somewhere in the town?"
Alejandro rubbed the back of his head, "Glenn? You really didn't notice her?"
"What are you talking ab..." Glenn's words died in his throat when he saw Enid standing behind Brody and Geoff, "Oh. I didn't. I just focused on the fact I saw the three of you. If she's with us, then I assume you already know what happened back home?"
"Yeah. We know." Alejandro nodded, "Enid already filled us in on everything after we convinced her to come back with us."
"This is why we need to hurry." Geoff added.
"Alright." Glenn nodded, "Let's go."
Rick lead Carl and Ron through Alexandria, wanting to teach the latter how to shoot with his son as Gabriel was posting signs for a prayer circle that he had planned for later that day. Rick shredded one sing as he walked past the priest, ignoring Carl calling out for him in a scolding tone as Gabriel watched him walk away for a second before replacing it with a new signs.
"Gun will be a little better for your first go." Rick started his explanation on how to use a gun to Ron upon reaching the training place with him and Carl. He pulled out a pistol to give a little presentation to Ron, "Magazine release. Slide release." He unloaded and loaded the pistol before showing him another part of the pistol, "Thumb safety."
"That stuff's easy, right, Dad?" Carl asked as Ron looked at him.
"Yeah. Empty magazine." Rick continued his presentation as he unloaded and loaded the pistol again and opened the chamber, wanting to show to Ron it was empty, "Empty chamber. See it?"
Ron nodded at him, "Yeah."
Rick took a few steps away from him and pointed ahead of himself, "Someone's in front of you, they have a gun."
"You're gonna be scared." Carl added as Ron looked at him, "You will be."
"Your body's gonna tense, you won't have time to think." Rick proceeded with his explanation, "You're just gonna want to pull the trigger when you get it in front of you." He pulled the trigger and the pistol clicked, "But you'll miss and you'll be dead. You have to get it up to your eye."
"You've got to be strong enough to wait for your moment." Carl added.
Ron looked away from Carl and looked at Rick, more specifically at the pistol he was holding right now, "Can I, uh...?"
Rick nodded at him and handed him the pistol. Ron pointed at the pistol ahead of himself a few seconds later, doing his best to follow the instructions Rick had give him a few moments earlier. Rick quickly noticed a few mistakes in his firing stance a beginner like him would make and stepped closer to him, intending to correct the mistakes he made in his stance.
"Hey, your finger doesn't touch the trigger until you're ready to shoot." Rick said as Ron did as he was told and corrected his stance. After making sure he got everything properly, he pulled the trigger and the pistol clicked, "Keep that one with you. Get a feel of what it's like to carry one around."
"Can I shoot it?" Ron asked, "Maybe like down at the walkers?"
Rick shook his head, "No, with things how they are, the walls are strong, but we're lucky the walkers are spread out. We don't want to pull them all to one spot."
"Well, what about, like, target practice in the center of town?" Ron asked him another question, "'Cause then the sound will spread out in each direction. Or maybe we could use, like, silencer or something like that." When neither Rick or Carl responded, he lowered his gaze to the ground, "But, uh... I mean, we probably don't want to waste bullets right now, huh? Just want to learn more."
Carl nodded at him, "You will."
Morgan walked up the stairs leading to the porch of the clinic and stopped in front of the front door to it. He knocked on it a few times, hoping either Bridgette or Denise will answer to his call. When neither of them answered to his knocking, he turned away from the door and started to make his way down the stairs, planning to try again later. He stopped in his track a few seconds later, hearing someone open the door behind him. He turned around to look at the door again and saw Denise.
The glasses wearing woman looked at him with an apologetic look on her face, holding a bowl of oatmeal in her hand, "Hey. Sorry. I was making- you want some oatmeal?"
"Thank you. I'm okay." Morgan politely declined her offer.
"You were coming to the door. What's up?" Denise asked and pointed at his arm, "Want me to take a look at your arm?
"No, I'm not here for..." Morgan paused for a second, "I'm fine."
"You can tell me or Bridgette if you're not." Denise said as Morgan nodded in understanding.
"Morgan." A voice sounded behind Morgan as Morgan turned around to the source of it and saw Rick and Bridgette standing behind him, "Can we talk now?"
"Uh-huh." Morgan nodded at him and walked over to him and Bridgette as Bridgette stepped away from Rick and walked over to Denise.
"Sorry I left you alone in the clinic." She looked at Denise with an apologetic look on her face. She rubbed the back of her head, "The last two days have been tough for me."
"Don't worry. It's okay. I understand you're just worried for Geoff." Denise assured Bridgette no harm was done as Rick and Morgan walked away from them, "I was making some oatmeal. Do you want some?"
"Yes." Bridgette smiled and nodded at her, "I would like that."
After splitting up from Denise and Bridgette, Rick and Morgan made their way to Rick's house where they were going to have the conversation Rick wanted to have with Morgan. The two men walked into the dining room and sat across from each other. The two of them stared at each other silently for several seconds as Morgan waited for Rick to start the conversation. They weren't the only people present in the dining room. Chef, Michonne and Chris were with them.
He looked at Rick questioningly after Rick stayed silent for a few more seconds, "What's going on?"
"When I was coming back..." Rick paused for a moment and cleared his throat, "I tried to cut off the herd with the RV. Lead the walkers away. But five of those people with the Ws in their foreheads, they stopped me. They tried to kill me and Chef, shot up the RV. Now, Carol says she and Heather saw you. That you wouldn't kill those people.
"Did you let any of them go?" Chef asked.
"Yes, I did." Morgan nodded in confirmation, "I didn't want to kill five people I didn't have to kill.
"They burned people alive." Carol pointed out.
"They slaughtered our people like it was nothing for them." Chris added.
Morgan nodded at them, "Yeah."
Morgan set his eyes on Rick, "Why didn't you kill me, Rick, back in King County? Pulled a knife on you. I stabbed you. So why didn't you kill me? Was it 'cause I saved you after the hospital?"
"'Cause I knew who you were." Rick responded.
"Back there I would have killed you as soon as look at you." Morgan pointed out, "And I tried. But you, you let me live and then I was there to help Aaron, Brick, Duncan and Daryl. See, if I- if I wasn't there... if they died... maybe those wolves wouldn't have been able to come back here. I don't know what's right anymore. 'Cause I did want to kill those men. I seen what they did, what they keep doing. I knew I could end it. But I also know that people can change. 'Cause everyone sitting here has. All life is precious. And that idea- that idea changed me. It brought me back and it keeps me living.
"I just don't think it can be that easy." Michonne stated.
"It's not easy." Morgan agreed.
I wasn't saying..." Michonne tried to say ,but Morgan interruped her before she could finish the sentence.
"I know." Morgan told her, "And I've thought about letting that idea go. But I don't want to."
"You may have to." Chef stated, "Things aren't as simple as four words. I don't think they ever were."
Morgan looked around the people around him, "Do you think I don't belong here?"
"Making it now, do you really think you can do that without getting blood on your hands?" Rick asked.
"I don't know." Morgan gave him an honest answer.
After ending their conversation with Morgan about him not wanting to kill the people with W's on their foreheads, Rick, Michonne, Chef, Carol, Morgan and Chris walked out of the house. Carol and Morgan headed in their own directions as Michonne, Rick, Chris and Chef stayed on the porch where they started to come up with a strategy to lure the walkers away from Alexandria.
"If we can somehow get outside the walls, get back to our cars at the quarry, we could use them to draw them away." Rick said.
"We will have to be extremely careful if we will want to sneak your way past the herd." Chef stated.
Rick nodded at him, "I know."
"We'll set up more watch points." Michonne said, "Coordinate the shooting of guns and flares so we could pull them out in even directions."
"We'd need to get all our people on it." Rick stated, beginning to list of the names of the members of his group who were available right now, "Carl, Gwen, Trent, Leshawna, Noah, Izzy Tara, Rosita, Carol."
"What about everybody else?" Chris asked, referring to the others Alexandrians as Michonne nodded her head, agreeing with the question.
"Well, let's just keep this to our own for now." Rick replied.
"Really?" Michonne asked.
"Look, if we had the time to bring the people along, sure. But we haven't had a chance to catch our breath." Rick explained his reasons for not wanting to bring anything outside his group for this mission.
Chris raised his brow at him, repeating what Michonne just said, "Really?"
Michonne sighed, "We're in here together. We're catching our breath right now. Anything else is just excuses."
"She's right, Rick." Chef voiced his agreement with Michonne as Chris silently nodded. "We will have to bring some of them with us if we want them to become stronger."
Rick looked behind Michonne, Chris and Chef, forgetting about what he was going to say to them as he saw Deanna walking towards them, "Deanna."
"Rick." Deanna nodded at him as she stopped between him, Chef, Chris and Michonne.
Chef pointed at the piece of paper Deanna was holding right now, "What's that?
"Plans for the expansion." Deanna explained, smilling.
"We got a few other things on our plate right now." Rick pointed out."
"I know." Deanna nodded, her smile not leaving her face as she handed the plans to Chris, "These are for what Alexandria can be after this. Because one way or another, there's gonna be an after this."
Jo walked back and forth as she watched how the lined up Alexandrians were improving their skills with machetes, doing something she'e been waiting to do ever since she saw how sheltered people of Alexandria truly were. She made sure to observe all of them closely, correcting them whenever someone did a mistake, acting like a stern drill sergeant whenever she did so.
She wasn't the only one training Alexandrians. Brick, Rosita, Trent, Leshawna, Izzy, Noah and Gwen were with her. Brick, Rosita and Gwen were helping her in training Alexandrians as Leshawna and Trent were occasionally throwing in some useful advice. Izzy and Noah were giving some private lessons to Emma and Kitty instead of training the rest of Alexandrians, like Jo, Brick, Rosita, Trent, Leshawna and Gwen.
"Now, when the blade connects, don't jerk it right back." Jo said, doing her best to sound like a stern drill sergeant as Brick shook his head at her with an amused look on his face, "You'll get stuck."
"Stuck?" Zoey asked, standing next to B.
"Like an ax cutting into a tree." Rosita pointed out as Jo nodded at her words, "It's easier to get a blade into bone than out.
"What she said." Jo said, "You should slide the machete down through the wound. One fluid motion."
Brick swung his machete on the ground, doing a quick presentation to them, "Okay, you ease it through the bone like this. All right?"
Rosita looked at Eugene who was standing among the training Alexandrians. Unlike the rest people present at the training session, he was not doing anything and was instead staring ahead of himself with a blank look on his face. Rosita scoffed and shook her head as she picked up a machete from the box and walked over to him. Trent and Gwen followed her, having noticed how Eugene was acting too. Rosita swung the machete in front of Eugene, taking him by suprise and scaring him a bit.
"Hey!" He screamed at her as Trent and Gwen stopped next to Rosita, "I'm a weapon novice holding a significant blade here and there are people in my proximity with open-toed shoes."
"That's right." Rosita nodded at him, "So get a grip.
"You'll have to learn how to defend yourself. People won't always watch over you." Gwen added, her arms crossed as Rosita nodded in agreement. Eugene stayed silent and looked away from them.
"What are you so scared of, dude?" Trent asked, having noticed there was something off about Eugene.
"That would be dying." Eugene gave him an honest answer.
"Dying is simple." Rosita told him, "It all just stops. You're dead. The people around you dying, that's the hard part. Okay? 'Cause you keep living knowing that they're gone and you're still here."
"You saw it yourself what Izzy went through after Zeke died." Gwen added."Do you want other people or yourself to go through the same thing?"
"What you should be scared of is living knowing that you didn't do everything you could to keep them here." Trent added, letting out a sigh at the few examples going through his mind right now.
"Too upset to keep going?" Rosita asked, "Are the noises scaring you or can we get back to the lesson?" Eugene just gave Rosita, Gwen and Trent a look before turning away them and walking off, "Let's try this again."
Heather walked over to Leshawna, "Hey."
Leshawna looked at her, "Hey. Why are you alone, sugar? I thought you went to bring Dakota here."
"I tried to bring her here." Heather replied, "No matter how much I tried to convince to make her come here and learn how to defend herself, she refused. After Sam's death, she just became a completely different person."
Leshawna put her hand on her shoulder, "Just give her some time, sugar. Sam was her beloved one. It's completely understable she is mourning him. I'm sure she will get better as the time will pass."
Heather sighed, "I hope you're right."
"Stop." Noah said to Emma, unaware of the discussion going on between Rosita, Gwen, Trent and Eugene as he, Izzy, Kitty and Emma were keeping distance from the rest, not wanting anyone to interrupt them in their training session. Emma stopped what she was doing and looked at him, "You're doing this wrong again. If you will keep swinging like that, you will end up dead with your throat ripped out by one of those things."
"Dammit." Emma sighed, "What's happening with me today? I'm following your instructions and I'm still repeating the same mistakes."
"Don't dwell on it much. If you will keep dwelling about how much you can't do it, you will end up dead." Noah replied, stepping closer to Emma, "Here. Let me show you how to do it properly."
He stopped behind Emma and waited for Emma to take a proper fighting stance. After she took the proper stance, Noah grabbed her hands and began showing her how to swing a machete properly. Emma felt a blush form on her face, feeling how Noah was moving her limbs as if she was a doll as Noah blushed as well at how close he was to her right now, hoping the others won't notice how flushed his face was right now.
Izzy and Kitty stopped their training for a second and looked at Emma and Noah. Izzy smiled at the scene as for the first time since the walkers surrounded Alexandria, Kitty smiled as well.
Rick, Chef and Chris set up the building equipment next to the wall where Rick found a crack earlier today, the latter two having been formed by Rick about it after they parted ways with Michonne and Deanna. Rick and Chef worked hard on building a new support wall for the wall as Chris did his best to help them as best as he could, despise his lack of experience in this kind of thing,
"Another one done." Chef declared, holding out a plank to Chris, "You know what to do with it, pretty boy."
Chris nodded and took the plank from him, "On it."
He walked away from Rick and Chef and walked over to the wall, trying to set the plank up in one spot as Tobin, Chet and Lorenzo saw them working on the wall from the distance. They watched how much Chris struggled with keeping the plank steady, because of his lack of experience and walked over to them, intending to help them in whatever they were doing right now.
Tobin put his hand on the plank, keeping it steady as Chris looked at him, "You look like you could use some help."
"Thanks." Chris smiled at him.
Tobin turned around to look at Chet, "Chet. Could you help Rick and Chef?"
"Sure." Chet nodded, walking over to Rick and Chet.
"Lorenzo. Come here. You will help us in holding the plank." Tobin said, wanting to make Lorenzo feel useful.
"Sure." Lorenzo nodded at him as he walked over to Tobin and Chris and put his hand on the plank Tobin and Chris were holding together.
"You know, I think we could build up a brace on this thing." Tobin voiced his idea as Chris started to fasten the planks to the wall.
Chef nodded his head, approving of the idea, "Good idea. Tobin."
Lorenzo looked away from the plank he was looking at for a second and noticed a crack in the wall, "Guys. There's a crack in the wall."
"We know." Chris let him know they were already aware of that.
"This is why we're reinforcing this part of the wall." Chef added.
"You scared the hell out of me." Tobin said to Rick, looking over his shoulder at him, "With that beard. The way you looked around like you were seeing things we weren't... hiding around corners."
"That's the understatement of the century, Tobin." Chet said, "I and Lorenzo overheard from the others how scared they were of the new guy."
"It doesn't matter right now, anyway." Lorenzo stated, "In the end, he did saw things we weren't seeing. Things moved slow here and a coward like me was allowed to go on the supply runs, despise my decision getting other people killed."
"Don't call yourself a coward anymore, bro." Chet said, "You realized you have to change something in yourself and you're doing it right now."
Chef raised his brow at him, "Right now?"
"We were just going back from the machete using lesson Jo has started giving everyone." Chet said, "Lorenzo attended it because he wanted to improve himself with one hand. Because of him already having experience in it, she let him go earlier than the rest."
Chet nodded in understanding, "I see."
"The same goes for Chris and Chef." Tobin said, "After everyone learned Chris McLean and Chef Hatchet just joined our community, people excepted you two to behave the way you did on the TV. In the end, they ended up behaving completely opposite."
Chris shrugged, "The sadistic persona was just an image I was putting for the media to gain more viewers."
"It still doesn't change the fact you're a completely different person right now." Tobin pointed out before looking over his shoulder at Rick, "After what happened between Rick and just started moving fast. Too fast." He looked at him with a pleading look on his face, "But don't give up on us."
A legless walker crawled along the dirt road, struggling to make itself move forward with just it's hand. It reached it's hand out toward something in front of it, having noticed something it could make af feast of standing in front of it. It was when Enid approached it and stopped behind it. She stabbed it through the head with her knife, killing it for good.
"What?" She asked as she looked Glenn, Geoff, Alejandro and Brody and saw the looks they were giving her right now, "Think your someone from Alexandria wouldn't have wanted me to kill it?" Glenn, Geoff, Alejandro and Brody stayed silent as she walked away from the now deceased walker and walked over to the green ballons left over from Rick's walker-herding mission. She cut them and tied them up to her backpack, "We can use them to distract them.
Glenn pointed at the bushes next to them, "There's a helium tank in those shrubs. More balloons, more string."
"I'll go get it." Brody stepped closer to the bushes and crouched down in front of them, seeing there was indeed a helium tank and more balloons in them. He pulled out his knife, beginning to cut the line keeping all this stuff tied up to the bushes. After cutting the line keeping all this stuff to the bushes, he started filling the ballons with helium.
Geoff looked at Enid with a questioning look on his face, "Who did you stay with back home?"
"It's not my home." Enid pointed out, "I lived in Olivia's place. But I was on my own. Orphaned by walkers. It's just what happens."
"I get that you're scared." Glenn said.
"I'm not scared." Enid argued.
"Yeah, you are." Glenn said, "You don't want to lose anything again, so you give up and you say, "That's just what happens."."
"I don't need a lecture." Enid told him.
"I think you do." Alejandro said, "This is why you left Alexandria? You're leaving it just because you're scaring something again?"
"I said I don't need a lecture." Enid repeated, "Do you even know how it feel like to lose your parents?"
"Yes." Alejandro nodded in confirmation, "As far as I know, my entire family is dead. I never learned what happened to my parents. My older brother Carlos is dead. My other older brother Jose is dead too and don't even get me started on the things he did to me and my group."
Enid raised her brow, "What did he do?
"So you want to know what he did? Very well. I'll tell you." Alejandro replied, "He was a working with a psychopath and together they attacked our home and destroyed it. Do you know Duncan used to have a girlfriend who isn't with us anymore because my brother stabbed her in her stomach and left her to bleed out? Do you want to know how many people, our friends, died because of him? A lot."
Enid looked at him with a stunned look on his face, feeling a bit sorry for making Alejandro remember this, "I-I'm sorry."
"And you what?" Alejandro continued his lecture, paying no attention to her apology, "Despise all of this happening, I never gave up on my group, despise having to deal with the guilt of my own brother doing all these terrible things. You honor the dead by going on. You live because they don't get to. You think your parents wanted you waving around a gun because you're afraid?"
Enid glared at him upon hearing him mention her parents, "We don't have to talk."
After preparing all the balloons they needed for their mission, the group consisting of Glenn, Geoff, Brody, Alejandro and Enid returned to the road and continued to make their way towards Alexandria, the latter now having a lot of balloons tied to her backpack. They reached their destination a bit later and much to their worry, the saw the entire community surrounded by the undead.
Brody's eyes widened in worry, "Dudes..."
"My God." Enid shook her head and turned away from Alexandria. She started to walk away from it as Alejandro, Geoff and Glenn looked over their shoulders at her. Brody continued to stare at his home in a stunned worried silence. It wasn't unnoticed by Geoff who immediately shifted his gaze to his old friend.
"Stop." Glenn told Enid. His words fell deaf on her ears as she continued to walk away from them. He and Alejandro quickly pushed themselves into run and stopped in front of her, preventing her from going further, "I said stop."
Enid looked up at them tearfully, "What's the point? The world is trying to die. We're supposed to just let it."
"No." Alejandro told her, "You're wrong."
"We're not supposed to let the world die." Glenn added, "And I sure as hell am or Alejandro or Geoff or Brody are not gonna let you die."
Alejandro leaned a bit closer to Enid and whispered to her, "Look, the walls are still up. The houses are still up. We'll find out the rest. Okay?"
"Calm down, bro." Geoff said to Brody, trying to get him to calm down, "We'll get through this. We'll find a way how to get this done."
Brody gave him an assuring nod, "O-Okay..."
Rick, Chef, Chris, Tobin, Chet and Lorenzo walked down the street, intending to get more materials before they will return to their work on the new support wall for the wall where Rick had discovered a crack earlier today. All six of them froze in their tracks upon seeing something in front of them. They saw Spencer. He was shimming over the wall along a rope he's attached to the watchtower with a grappling hook.
"What the hell?" Tobin voiced what all six of them were thinking right now.
"What the hell is he doing?" Chef asked as Rick pushed himself into run towards Spencer. The others quickly followed him.
Rick quickly climbed up the ladder to the top of the lookout post and set his eyes on Spencer who continued to make his way along the rope, "Spencer, get back here now. Spencer. Spencer!"
"What are you doing?!" Chris asked as he stopped next to Rick, "You're going to get yourself killed!"
Spencer ignored them and continued to make his way to the watchtower. It was when the grappling hook lost it's grip, resulting in Spencer almost falling down right into the herd. He grabbed to grab the rope in the last and was now hanging above the walkers for his life. The walkers reached their hands upwards, trying to reach him as Spencer started to make his way back to the lookout post.
"Go! Keep moving!" Rick shouted.
It was when the grappling hook completely broke, resulting in Spencer falling off into the walkers and slamming against the wall. He quickly got himself back on his feet and someone started shooting at the walkers. It wasn't Rick or Chef or Chris or Tobin or Chet or Lorenzo. It was Tara. She saw what happened and was now hanging off the side of the wall, giving Spencer a chance to escape.
Spencer pushed a few walkers away from him as Tara continued to take down every walker she could. After making sure all the closest walkers were either dead or pushed away from him, Spencer started climbing up the wall as Rick, Chef and Chet started pulling on the rope, trying to make him reach the lookout post faster. The rest of the herd reached Spencer a second later and began trying to grab him, managing to take off his boot in the process. After the combined efforts of Rick, Tara, Chef and Chet, Spencer eventually reached the lookout past and was now safe from the undead.
"Tara!" Rick shouted to Tara as Tara climbed her way back to her own lookout post after making sure Spencer was safe, "You almost died once for these people."
Tara looked at him in disbelief, "What?"
"What the hell were you doing?" Rick asked as Tara flipped him off.
Spencer let out a dry laugh, "Lost a damn shoe. Crap."
Rick looked down at Spencer angrily, "What was that?"
"Do you even realize how reckless it was?" Chef asked.
"I was trying to help. I wanted to get to a car, draw them away." Spencer explained himself for doing so reckless, "
"You ever make a climb like that before?" Rick asked as Spencer shook his head, "You want to help? Don't make us come running to save you. You got an idea, you come to me."
"Would you have listened to me?" Spencer retorted.
The door to the clinic was opened and Morgan walked in, seeing both Denise and Bridgette were inside the building. They were checking the state sleeping Scott was in right now and if his state was still getting better or if it started getting worse. Fortunely, his state continued to get better and it was giving some confidence as a doctor to Denise which was something Bridgette was really glad about.
Bridgette looked away from Scott and looked at Morgan, "Morgan. What is it?"
"I need to talk with either of you." Morgan revealed.
"I'll go talk with him." Denise said, "You stay here and finish our checks on Scott."
"Okay." Bridgette nodded at her, "Remember. If you will need any help, don't hesitate to ask."
Denise nodded at her and stepped closer to Morgan, "Everything okay now?"
Morgan put his stick against the wall, "It's handled. Everything's fine."
"So are you gonna tell me why you're here this time?" Denise wanted to know.
"How well is the community stocked with antibiotics?" Morgan questioned.
Denise raised her brow at the question, but answered it nevertheless, "We're good.
"I need to dress a wound, but I don't know if it's infected." Morgan replied, "I don't want to waste medicine if I don't have to."
Denise nodded at him and gestured towards his arm, "Let's take a look at your arm."
"I didn't come in this morning because I didn't want to get you or Bridgette involved in something that you may not want to be involved in. In a secret. It's not my wound." Morgan revealed.
Denise stared at him for a few seconds before whispering to him, "Could you tell me what you mean quietly? I don't want to get Bridgette's involved because of her pregnancy."
Carol was standing on the porch of her house, holding Judith in her arms when he saw Morgan walk out of the clinic, followed by Denise. She narrowed her eyes at them, specifically at Denise who was holding a bag in her right hand. She walked down the steps of the porch and started to follow them, wanting see where they were heading right now.
After seeing them enter one basement together, she quickly turned away from them and started to make her way towards the closest person she could give Judith to. She knew she could have given her to Bridgette as Bridgette already had a lot of experience when it came to watching over her, but she didn't want to bother her at the clinic, especially since she had to constantly watch over Scott.
She made her way to Jessie's house and saw her working on something on the statue on the porch, "Hey." She said to gain her attention as Jessie looked down at her. She walked up the stairs onto the porch and held Judith out to her, "I know you just took care of Judith this morning, but they want some help with the watch points after that thing with Spencer. Could you...?"
Jessie nodded at her, "Oh, yeah, no problem. Unless you want me to take your shift."
Carol shook her head at her offer, "No, I like being up there."
Jessie raised her brow, "Even with all them outside?"
"You can see everything. Even inside." Carol replied.
Jessie nodded in understanding and showed the stuff she was using when she working on the statue on the porch, "Um, let me just lock these up. Can you give me a second?"
"Mm-hmm." Carol nodded.
Jessie pointed behind her, gesturing towards inside her house, "Do you want to come in?"
"Yeah." Carol gave her another nod and walked into the house as Jessie closed the door behind her. Jessie walked further into the house where she was going to leave the stuff she used when she was working on the statue as Carol watched her leave for a second until something else caught her attention.
"Carol?" Darren's voice called out for her from above, "Carol."
Carol took a few steps towards his voice, entering the kitchen "What? Darren?
"What happens if you can't live with it?" Darren asked.
"I told you, it eats you up." Carol reminded him, "Can you come down here? I can barely hear you."
"The people who came, were they the monsters?" Darren asked her another question, "Did my dad turn into one?"
"What?" Carol asked, slightly taken aback by the question.
"If you kill people, do you turn into one of the monsters?" Darren wanted to know.
"The only thing that keeps you from becoming a monster is killing." Carol gave him an honest answer.
Jessie walked into the kitchen several seconds later and Carol handed Judith to her. After giving her thanks to Jessie for taking care of Judith, she turned away from them and walked out of the house. She started to make her way towards the basement she saw Morgan and Denise enter together several moments earlier, intending to confront Morgan about whatever secret he was keeping locked up in that basement.
Rick, Chef, Chris, Lorenzo, Tobin and Chet went back to their work at reinforcing the wall after the entire incident with Spencer, getting more of the job done the longer they worked on it together. All six of them were certain about one thing. If they will continue to work on it together with the same pace, they should have get this work done pretty soon.
"Hey." Tara's voice sounded behind them as she approached them from behind, "Have you seen Denise? Bridgette told me she left the clinic to take care of something but didn't told her why."
Rick shook her head, "No."
"Sorry. Haven't seen her the entire day." Chris replied as Chef, Lorenzo, Tobin and Chet silently nodded in agreement.
"Okay." Tara replied as she turned away from them and started to walk away.
Rick watched her leave for a few seconds before tossing his hammer on the ground, "I'll be right back."
"Alright." Chef replied as Rick got himself into a standing position.
"Hey." Rick called out for Tara as he pushed himself into a run and catched up to her. Tara stopped in her tracks and turned around to look at her, "Look, I'm sorry about before. I was just..."
"He was stupid. That we know." Tara cut him off.
"I just meant what you did for him, you didn't have to." Rick explained himself.
"I know." Tara nodded at him.
"You could have died." Rick pointed out.
"I mean, I'd like to say I was thinking about it, but I wasn't." Tara explained.
"Is that why you did it?" Rick asked, "You weren't thinking about it?"
"No." Tara shook her head, "That's how it works with us. We're stuck with each other, right?"
"Rick." A voice sounded behind Tara. Rick and Tara stopped their conversation and saw Deanna walking towards them, "Rick, you saved my son. Thank you."
Rick shook his head at her expression of gratitude and pointed at Tara, "Thank Tara."
"I already did." Deanna replied, taking a few steps closer to Rick as Tara walked away from them, "Now I'm thanking you."
"What Spencer did was stupid." Rick pointed out as Deanna stopped in front of him.
"I can't argue that." Deanna nodded, "At least he tried."
Rick shook his head, "That's not the point. I could have tried. There was a chance."
Deanna raised her brow, "How's that?"
"When the walkers were going for him, it made a gap." Rick started his explanation, "I could have jumped down, ran, made it out. I could have got in a car, used it to lead the walkers away. I could have done that and Spencer would be dead."
"But you didn't do that." Deanna pointed out, "Why?"
"I helped save him because he's your son." Rick replied.
Deanna shook her head with a smile on her face, "Wrong answer."
As Alexandrians continued to do their usual business, something on the sky caught their attention. It quickly made them abandon what they were doing at the moment and focus their attention attention on it. They saw a lot of green balloons flying towards the sky to distract the walkers. Having realized who it could have been, Maggie quickly left the lookout post and started to run through the streets of Alexandria, knowing she had to find Bridgette and Heather and inform them about it if they didn't already saw those balloons.
On her way the clinic where she knew she will find Bridgette, she stumbled upon Rick and told him who must have been responsible for those balloons. having just restored her hope. Unfortunely her newly restored hope was short lived, because the watch tower fell over and crashed into the wall...
Finally watched Disventure Camp and this fan series is so good. Definitely looking forward to the new episodes.
The NieR: Automata anime comes out next month and I'm super excited for it as I absolutely love the game. I hope hope they won't mess it up. To be honest the anime could have been about 2B and 9S walking around the desert and doing nothing but talking with each other and checking the crates for 20 minutes and I would still watch it because I love these characters so much.
It will be the last chapter I will post for this story in 2022 so allow me to wish you all Happy New Year :)
Hope it wasn't that bad. See you in another chapter.
