Chapter 4: Fue Mejor

These worldly possessions

I don't need none of them

Tú no me mereces (no, no)

Someone could come love me

If somebody know me

Tú no me conoces (ghost, ghost)

Take a little sip, take a little puff

Don't want to think, don't want to talk, no

Is it enough, is it too much, oh

I'm not this, I'm not done

Kali Uchis & SZA

"I'm glad you made it here safely." Elena sighed, voice perpetually husky as she pulled her small friend into her arms and held her tightly.

Bonnie actually stood there and returned the hug for longer than half a second and Elena was so surprised she almost backed out of it herself but Bonnie just held her tighter until her best friend relaxed.

"Love you, Bon," Elena whispered feeling warmth in her heart at her friend's rare show of affection, squeezing her once more before letting go.

Bonnie mirrored Elena's meaningful smile, each wondering why they were starting to feel teary-eyed out of nowhere.

A throat cleared, "I'd hate to break up this sweet moment, but my jealousy senses were tingling and now I'm worried about you stealing my girl, Bonnie." Stefan made himself noticed in the room, stepping into the lavish apartment's foyer with his hands stuffed in his pockets. He looked dashing as always if not a little more than usual since he was dressed up for a night out. Dark blue jeans molded over his skin with a just as form-fitting dark green designer button-up shirt. His burnished auburn hair was done in its normal coif.

"What can I say, Stefan, I'm on the market again and no one's safe," Bonnie played along, giving a wicked smirk to Stefan before turning back to her bestie and sending her a flirty wink.

Elena gave her friend a quizzical look, noting that there was something different about the girl. She looked more relaxed, freer, sexier… Elena's big brown eyes drifted down to her friend's attire.

"Wow, Bon that dress looks amazing on you!" Elena gasped, finally taking in her best friend's appearance. "That's the one Caroline made you buy when we went shopping right?"

Bonnie blushed, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear with faux bashfulness before smoothing down the dress with her hands, "What this old thing?"

The girls laughed at her behavior.

"Yeah Caroline as per usual knows what's best when it comes to fashion. I will never doubt her again but don't tell her I said that. Someone needs to keep her on her toes."

Elena snorted, shaking her head because she knew the girl was right.

"It's not as slutty as I thought it would look on me, and it works for tonight."

The brunette nodded her head in agreement, "Yeah it's perfect, you're giving a very confident aura right now and I absolutely love it." Stefan moved to stand beside his girlfriend, giving Bonnie a polite appraisal as well.

"You clean up nice Bon."

"Eat your heart out Stef," the green-eyed woman gave him a teasing look. "Elena you look absolutely gorgeous as well. Stefan you won't have to just worry about me trying to steal her tonight." And it was true, Elena looked amazing in her nude-colored body con dress. It had one strap, toga style, with a second layer of translucent chiffon that added dimension to the fabric. Nude heels that were just as tall as Bonnie's wrapped around her feet and made her long legs look even longer. Her long chestnut hair was pulled into a pony at the top of her head with swooped bangs that framed her face.

The man groaned, hugging his girlfriend tighter to his body in reply. Elena giggled, enjoying being in her man's arms.

A popped bottle of crystal and a round of tequila shots later and the girls were swaying to the beat of the music playing from Stefan's sound system as they stood next to the breakfast bar. Fue Mejor by Kali Uchis was playing and Bonnie had to give credence to Stefan's taste. The heavy bass coming from the song and their indulgence in liquor helped put an extra swing into Bonnie and Elena's hips giving a teasing preview of the rest of the night.

With a raised heavy brow, Stefan's bluish-green eyes twinkled with amusement at the girls. With the way Elena was pulling Bonnie against her hips and pushing her leg between the other girl's thighs, his thoughts were nowhere near gentlemanly, but he didn't think any hot-blooded males would be at the moment. Walking towards the bar, Stefan placed down a platter of hors d'oeuvres. It was nothing too crazy but when Bonnie got a look at it she gasped at the spread.

"As much as I'm enjoying the show, I know you girls are lightweights, especially Elena," he gave her a pointed look, "so I want you two to eat something before we go."

"This looks great Stefan." Bonnie praised, already picking up a small meat skewer and popping it in her mouth. Her smokey eyes closed at the taste, plump red lips pouting as she chewed on the delicious morsel before moaning in a slightly erotic manner. "I swear you are too good at cooking."

All the while, Elena was giving her man a teasingly indignant look in response to his jab. "We're hardly lightweights Stefan. Not all of us can throw back full bottles of bourbon like you can."

"I'd say it's a Salvatore talent. Bourbon seems to disappear as soon as we get our hands on it." Stefan had opened his mouth to speak but it wasn't his lips that formed the words they heard. "Right, brother?"

Three heads turned toward the hallway that lead to the front door spotting the devastatingly handsome man that stood there.

For the first time, Bonnie saw him out of his ordained therapy clothes which usually consisted of some sort of henley and comfortable trousers. Tonight he was wearing all black, from his black expensive looking t-shirt covered by an even more expensive black leather jacket, black jeans, and black boots. The stark dark colors brought out the stunning color of his white skin and luminescent blue eyes. If not for the natural warm hue of red attractively sprinkled on his cheeks and lips that showed his vitality she would think he was part of the undead.

Even from where he was standing, Bonnie swore she could smell him and he smelled just as great as always with a fresh overtone of a recent shower. Most likely he took one after their session as she did. Her skin prickled with awareness like usual when he was around but when his heavy gaze finally landed on her and his eyes started to smolder, the intensity was dialed to one hundred and she felt like her skin was going to go up in flames.

"W-What are you doing here?" Bonnie breathed and, "Brother?"

Instead of an answer, she felt his gaze as if they were his own hands, take a scenic tour of her body, rounding at her pretty feet and going back up just as slowly until he reached her lash-engulfed eyes. "Well don't you look like a doll."

"Do you guys know each other?" Elena asked, finally breaking up the tension in the room. Stefan gave a just as perplexed look as his girlfriend as he looked between the two.

"Me and Bun Bun here? We go way back." Damon answered in that way he did sometimes that made everything he said sound unconvincing, still not taking his gaze off of Bonnie as he ambled further into the room with a predatory gait.

Bonnie's breath caught in her mouth when he finally stood before her. Even in her sky-scraping heels she only reached his jaw so she had to peer up as he looked down, aided by his fingers catching under her chin. She shivered, suddenly distressed by how aware she realized she was of him and his presence. She always reacted to his touch but it felt like after their session today, that chemical reaction was on overdrive. His breath on her skin, the zipper of his jacket brushing against her stomach, and even the air around him made her body hum and her senses come alive.

"Tu as l'air délectable." You look delectable. Damon whispered in French into the air between them, only for her ears.

"Bonnie?" Elena asked again.

"U-Um," Her thick lashes blinked open and closed like a bird's feathers, she was at a loss for words. Could he just stop looking at her like that and suddenly saying arousing things in French!?

Shaking her head slowly, Bonnie broke eye contact in an effort to gain her wits. With her hand, she pulled his away from her face. "He's the therapist I told you I was seeing." She finally answered Elena, ignoring the fact that Damon hadn't let go of her hand and was rubbing his thumb against her knuckles. "Seeing, as in professionally seeing," she emphasized needlessly.

That answer raised Elena's eyebrows as well as Stefan's. Bonnie wasn't sure if he understood because Elena blabbed to him or due to the fact he was the man's brother and naturally knew what he did for a living.

Speaking of, wait, they were brothers?

Perhaps due to him savoring the reactions he could pull from everyone, Damon smirked smugly down at Bonnie, and after two tense elongated seconds, he finally pulled his gaze away from her and turned to the other two occupants in the room.

"If you don't close your mouth Stef I'm afraid some flies may get trapped in it. That would go against that vegetarian diet you insisted on wouldn't it?"

Seeming to blink out of her reverie from watching the attractive couple in front of her, Elena turned to her boyfriend. "Stefan, since when were you a vegetarian?"

"That was years ago Damon." Stefan sighed, brushing a hand through his hair and disrupting the locks. Stefan never messed up his hair, but within minutes of his brother entering the room, he did so. The action was really a testament to the dynamic of their relationship.

"So, you're brothers?" Damon's ears twitched at the sound of the sweet warm voice below him. With a cocky grin, he swung his head back to the woman who captured his attention as soon as he stepped into the room and who wouldn't relinquish it for more than a second. She looked drop-dead gorgeous which said something because he always found her appearance to be ravishing. However, the way her black hair highlighted with a burnished red tint under the light seemed to dance around her beautiful face in voluminous curls, with one side pulled behind her ear giving her a sexy look, and the dress which left no question about the innocence corrupting curves her small stature held, he felt truly besotted. He couldn't keep his hands off of her and wouldn't mind putting other parts of his body on hers as well, for safekeeping of course. With the way that she looked, he was sure there would be men falling from the rafters trying to talk to her. He needed to be there to protect her virtue. Bonnie was still new to this world of debauchery and was still under his tutelage, thus she was his responsibility, he rationalized.

"Yep," he popped the 'p' with his lips, "didn't notice the matching last names? Salvatore. How many men do you come across with that last name? Come on Bunny." He chastised, leaning dangerously into her space and widening his eyes.

Bonnie's expression was unimpressed as she leaned her head back away from him.

"Oh I get it, you were too distracted by my scary good looks during orientation that you missed when I said my last name."

"Try taking out the good part of that statement and you'd be right." Bonnie snarked back.

"Ooh, you wound me," Damon pulled her closer, not perturbed by her attitude in the least.

A throat cleared, Stefan's, while Elena just stood in front of him with her mouth slightly agape.

Bonnie finally yanked her arm away after realizing they had an audience and stepped away from Damon's hold. She parted from him, replying to his snicker with a roll of her eyes before rounding back to where Elena was and stealing a cucumber with salmon and cream cheese on it from the plate that Stefan left on the table.

After chewing for a moment, she realized the quiet that had stayed in the room and looked between Stefan and Elena's bemused faces towards Damon's simpering one as he sidled up next to her and plucked his own appetizer. "What?" She focused the question back onto Stefan and Elena.

Clearing her throat, the brunette shook her head, "N-nothing, I've just never seen you like this before."

Bonnie's brows raised, realizing how she and Damon must have looked to them. Bonnie was so used to interacting with Damon when it was just the two of them alone that she never thought to think how they must seem to other people. On top of that, it must have been an even greater shock to Elena considering how Bonnie used to shy away from people before and would definitely never let them get as close as Damon did and for so long. She hardly ever even let Jeremy touch her in public and she let her therapist touch her all over and basically stand on top of her as soon as he walked in.

"Judgy, taste this," Damon pulled Bonnie's face back his way. Luckily for him, her mouth had already been slightly open in thought so he just coaxed it to open further before placing a white chocolate-dipped strawberry into her mouth while he held onto the stem.

Forgetting herself, Bonnie bit into it out of instinct and instantly moaned as the sweet, slightly warm after being freshly dipped in chocolate confectionary exploded onto her tongue. Her eyes may have rolled, it was that damn good. "Fuck, that was good." She stated with a breathy moan.

More, almost sharp-looking pearly whites were shown to her, "Tasted so good you made a mess, huh?" Damon teased, brushing his thumb under her lip where the melted white chocolate had dripped from her mouth and left a suggestive picture. His pants certainly got tighter wondering if she was always this messy.

He got distracted by the fullness of her bottom lip as she bit into it, licking the seam with a tiny tongue searching for any other vestiges of white substance.

Damon groaned, stuffing the rest of the half-eaten fruit into his mouth after tasting the chocolate from his thumb, and whirled around to pick up the bottle of bourbon his brother left sitting on the table.

As he poured himself a glass, Bonnie had turned back to the appetizers, this time trying something delicious looking smeared on a crostini as if nothing mildly sexual had happened between them.

Stefan and Elena's faces were even more confused with a small added amount of disgust.

"So how about we take a round and finally get the heck out of here?" Damon suggested after downing his glass. He shook his pilfered bottle in front of everyone to make sure they knew what he meant.

.oOo.

Twenty minutes later they arrived at a sleek highrise building in Damon's car. They chose Damon's because his was bigger than Stefan's Porsche and now that there was another member of their ragtag group, they would need the space. Bonnie learned that the man drove a vintage 1969 Chevy Camaro convertible in sky blue. It was ostentatious in a classic way, kind of like him.

After making their way into the building they stepped past a long flowing line gathered in the lobby who groaned at the unfairness of newcomers going first and then were ushered in without question by the bouncer into an elevator. That elevator took them all the way to the top floor.

The ding announcing their arrival, settled into Bonnie's skin as the elevator doors opened. Her pretty eyes widened largely as she took in the amazing view. They were on the roof of the building which appeared to be a popular nightclub. Neon lights in pinks and purples flashed everywhere along the dancefloor which gave a translucent impression as if you would fall through it to the floor below. Glowing lights flashed from it as well making everyone dancing on top of it appear extraterrestrial.

There were three bars, one located in each corner of the club, tables and patio couches lined the sides and there was an overarching deck connected to enclosed rooms that appeared to be for VIPs.

Everyone was young and hot showing they had a type for who they allowed into the club.

Bonnie was impressed.

"Sometimes it pays to have rich and attractive friends."

Elena raised her eyebrows and shoulders in agreement before rocking her heels toward her boyfriend and giving him a kiss as thanks.

"What about me, do I get a kiss?" Damon spoke up, eyeing Bonnie so that there was no question to whom he was requesting one from.

"In your dreams, Casanova."

"Don't be mean," the raven-haired man pouted, bringing her closer by the hips as if he were going to force a kiss on her but then changed trajectory and pressed his mouth into her neck, growling and gnawing the flesh as if he were biting her.

"Damon!" Bonnie admonished, holding tightly to his shoulders so that she wouldn't fall as she felt herself teeter dangerously in her pointy heels. She was one part aroused at the feel of his lips on her skin and two parts mortified that he'd do so in front of her friend and his brother. Just as she was about to smack him upside his head–the desire was so strong she could taste it when she spotted the smug look on his face, a hand pulled her away by the crook in her arm and she was suddenly engulfed in bony limbs and the smell of Chanel No. 5.

She knew that smell anywhere and without having to look up she could tell who the person was that held her hostage.

"Hello, Caroline."

"Bonnie! I'm so happy you guys are finally here! Tyler and I have been waiting for, forever! You look great by the way, I told you that dress would look hot on you!" Caroline rambled, letting the girl out of her embrace as soon as she put her in it to take in her appearance.

On his way home from a trip to visit his mom in rehab, Caroline went to pick Tyler up from the airport. Initially, the group didn't think Tyler would want to go out considering how stressed he would be dealing with his mother, who was trying to get over her alcohol addiction, but it seemed the opposite was in effect and thus they were there. Caroline had to rush home and get ready and those two reasons were why they decided to meet her at the club instead of at Stefan's place. Still, she somehow beat them to their destination.

"You look super hot too, Care!" Caroline's blonde tresses were put in a semi-complicated curly updo that Bonnie would think she spent hours on to get to look that perfect. On her body, she was wearing a dark blue mini dress with a deep plunge at the neckline that ended at the end of her sternum. Black pumps finished the look.

"Thanks!" Caroline gave her a saucy wink before taking in Elena's appearance and giving her an equally winded hello and compliment. She then said a friendly hello to Stefan before being introduced to Damon.

After that introduction, Caroline gave Bonnie and Elena her famous 'hot guy alert' expression with reference to Damon, and Bonnie could do nothing but shake her head.

"Hey guys," Tyler greeted, finally coming up to the slowly forming group to say hello. He nodded his head to the guys and gave the girls side hugs. Bonnie was reaching over to give him a hug back when she noticed her ex standing sheepishly behind the man.

Great.

"Hey, Bonnie," Jeremy greeted awkwardly once their eyes connected.

Bonnie stood stock still after pulling away from Tyler. She didn't think she could form a proper reaction even if a film director yelled action and waved a cue card in her face.

It was in that tense uncomfortable moment of silence that went on too long for everyone involved that Bonnie waited for her familiar feelings of anger, resentment, loneliness, or even the pushed-down feelings of love to come. When they didn't, the girl belatedly realized that she no longer felt that way about Jeremy because she was over him. Truly and finally.

The smooth indifference on Bonnie's face slowly changed to wondrous curiosity as she looked at her ex. She mulled over when exactly her feelings changed in the past couple of months.

"Alrighty then! How about we go get some shots!" The silence was finally shattered by a voice too excited for the mood, breaking the ex-couple out of their reverie.

Tyler and Elena instantly brightened, more than happy for the distraction while Jeremy brushed a hand through his freshly cut hair before finally turning his eyes to Caroline and agreeing lamely.

Bonnie was then pulled by Caroline as they lead the group to the bar closest to them, luckily there wasn't much of a crowd near it.

Stefan and Damon hung back, watching the group go.

"So that's the ex-boyfriend, I presume."

"Yup," Stefan supplied, stopping a pretty young waitress from carrying a bottle of bourbon. It was obviously made on request for someone else, but his smile was more than charming enough for her to pour him and his brother a drink.

Damon took a grateful sip from his glass after the waitress handed him his. Her blush that started by Stefan spread all the way down her chest once she got a look at him. He imagined she never felt so lucky to be talked to by two handsome as hell brothers.

"He's not worth her heartache." Damon finally stated, watching the exes stand awkwardly next to each other. Jeremy was obviously trying to unsuccessfully engage Bonnie into a conversation, but the petite brunette wasn't having it. Instead, she typed on her phone as they waited for their drinks in a move that read, 'leave me the fuck alone,' to anyone who had eyes.

Stefan raised a brow, drinking a gulp of his own drink and enjoying the burn down his throat. He wasn't drunk despite the pregame back at his place but he was definitely feeling a good hum in his stomach. It gave him looser lips than he tended to have as more of an observer than a participant in conversations. "When did you fall in love with her?" He asked, watching his brother, watch Bonnie and Jeremy.

Damon scoffed, damn near spitting out his drink, but held back by the skin of his teeth on the surprise he felt from his brother's assertion. "What gave you that idea." The ebony-haired man replied, avoiding all eye contact with the man next to him.

Stefan's brow raised higher, noticing that despite his negative reaction, he hadn't denied it. This gave him more confidence to keep going. "I've never seen you like this before Damon, you're so different around her. You're softer and more protective." Stefan eyed the man, "I don't think you've taken your eyes off of Bonnie longer than two seconds since you showed up at my place…You certainly weren't like this with Katherine." Katherine was Damon's one and only true love that started his freshman year in college, or at least that's what he liked to call her during the time she had her claws deep in his back and even afterward as he tried to win her back. She didn't go to the school he went to, but was a well-known party girl on campus that stole the attention of any guy she walked past. Damon was no different.

She was the worst of the worst and made Damon just as bad. She had only used his brother in a time of boredom in her life, claiming to love him while sleeping with every other guy who caught her eye. She even tried to manipulate and seduce Stefan in her ranks and fancying them having some sort of ménage à trois. Damon was so far gone he didn't leave her when she hinted at the idea or when he found out about her indiscretions, but it just made him harder and rougher around the edges due to the hurt he felt knowing he wasn't enough for her. Every time they met Stefan could only see the darkness that his brother had submerged himself in as he drank away Katherine's dalliances with other men that he tried to remark blithely made their sex life hotter. When Katherine turned her eyes on Stefan, the younger brother had never seen Damon look at him with such hatred and resentment in his eyes. It didn't matter if Stefan denied her or not. Stefan was now competition.

Finally, Katherine had broken up with Damon but he wasn't the same since. He begged to get back together with her as if the woman was a drug that he couldn't quit no matter how bad she was for him. They went through many hookups and hate sexcapades but never fully got back together. It wasn't until Katherine, legally an adult at nineteen, drugged Stefan who was seventeen and still in high school at the time and tried to sleep with him that Damon finally shook off the curse that she put on him. He saved his brother and threatened to call the cops on the broad for attempted predatory sex with a minor, as well as putting a restraining order on her if she ever got near the two of them again.

It took a long time for Damon to get over what happened, and slowly but surely the brothers were able to repair their relationship. Soon after, their father passed and Stefan moved back to Mystic Falls since their mother wanted to be closer to home during Stefan's last year in high school, and Damon stayed behind to finish college. During that time is when Stefan met Elena and they fell in love. It became awkward once again for the brothers due to the fact that not only was Elena the spitting image of Katherine…but they were sisters as well. Katherine was the oldest by a couple of years. Their mother struggled to take care of one child with an abusive boyfriend that was rarely home, so when Elena came along she separated them. Elena had been adopted by the Gilbert family and Katherine had stayed with her birth mother who put hundreds of miles between them.

Stefan couldn't understand how he fell in love with a girl who had the same face as the woman who almost split him and his brother apart and then tried to date rape him. Damon couldn't understand it even more so.

He finally met her after a year of them dating but Elena was nowhere near a Katherine 2.0 and she proved that which helped fix what was becoming a budding feud between the brothers. Damon still felt apprehensive toward the girl and their conversations were kept at a minimum.

Though he would never tell Stefan this to his face, he wanted his brother to be happy, so he tried to keep his misdirected feelings about Katherine at bay towards Elena.

Learning about Katherine and how she treated her boyfriend was hard enough of a bubble to pop during the honeymoon phase around the couple's head. It became even harder for Elena when she tried and then successfully found her birth mother who turned out to be a bitch of the highest caliber. Then she incidentally met Katherine who instantly resented her for the life she should have had, instead of the hard one she suffered through with a neglectful mother and a long-gone father.

Damon wondered if a nasty comment about her not being good enough for his brother was something she was already wondering about herself.

"Despite what you liked to go around telling people, you were never in love with Katherine." Damon tensed and Stefan's perceptive eyes picked up on his change in mood. "But Bonnie's different. I can see it even in the hour that we've spent together and I found out you two knew each other. She's not a conquest to you like every other woman you've bedded. You care about her. I even think you love her."

Damon threw back the rest of his drink, not once having looked at his brother. Instead, he watched Bonnie receive her shot and clink her glass with everyone for cheers. However, she didn't drink hers once everyone else did, rather, she looked behind herself seeking someone out in the crowd. Damon realized it was him she was looking for when her gorgeous verdant eyes landed on his and her full luscious lips pulled up into a secretive smile.

He held his gaze with hers as he replied to his brother.

"You know what I think, Stefan?"

Stefan gave his brother a sidelong glance, finishing off his own drink and idly wondering when he would get another.

Cerulean-colored eyes shifted towards Stefan's in that wide way he did that made his target wonder if he had it all together. "I think the little monkey with the cymbal in its hands as a replacement for your brain has stopped playing and you've gotten a little dopey from your drink." Damon's eyes widened that much further to stress his point.

Used to his brother's snark thus not feeling insulted in the least, Stefan got what he really wanted from Damon's reply and received all the confirmation he needed for his statement. It was rare that Damon just came out and said how he truly felt about something. No, it was much more common for the man to be defensive and use biting sarcasm when someone neared the mark on his feelings. He watched as Damon turned his head back to Bonnie and they made eyes at each other before the young girl angled her head in the universal signal for 'come here.'

Like a fish to a line, Damon obliged. "Now, if you'll excuse me." Damon gave Stefan a vague look before heading in the direction of his pupil.

A few strides from his long legs later and Damon was in the presence of the only person who wasn't insufferable there. Thoughtlessly, he brushed his hand down the back of her arm holding the shot.

"Bonnie! Why haven't you drank yours yet?" Caroline complained loudly in Damon's ear. He got a shadowy idea while meeting her and after she pulled Bonnie from his arms that he wouldn't particularly like the blonde, but it was made even more clear to him now as he digested the crude sound of her shrill voice.

Bonnie's mouth opened in reply but Damon answered before she could.

"She was waiting for me, but no worries." Damon winked at a blushing Bonnie, "How about I order us all another round."

Caroline beamed, happy with that arrangement while Bonnie smiled thankfully at him.

Doing just that, Damon called out to the bartender and got their drinks started. "Now Bonnie will have to drink two shots instead of one." The dark-haired man smirked, throwing the weight of his stare onto the girl.

Bonnie gulped, ignoring the jeering from Caroline and her other friends as she glared back at Damon for his mischievousness.

Jeremy who wasn't too far behind Bonnie's turned back, frowned at the obvious chemistry and closeness between the couple, but he went ignored by them.

A second round settled into everyone's hands, as well as Stefan's who'd ambled up behind his brother a few seconds later and kissed Elena's pouting mouth. The somewhat clingy girl probably felt neglected.

"You're really going to make me drink both of these?" Bonnie leveled her gaze with Damon's, currently quote on quote double fisting her proffered drinks.

Damon rose a challenging brow, "Don't think you can do it small pint? Considering how small you are you're probably worried it will go straight to your head right?"

"That's what you think." Bonnie gave him a saucy look before cheersing with the group. She tossed her head back and let the buoyant bounce of her curls sway down the back of her head. While presenting the long smooth expanse of her neck and proud chest to him, Bonnie poured both glasses down her throat at the same time. It only took one big swallow as the rims of the two glasses kissed with a clink and her cupid's bow, heart-shattering lips rubbed against the cups erotically before smacking closed. "Yum," Bonnie sang innocently, giving Damon a wink and placing the glasses in his hands. Luckily, his hands were big enough to hold the two glasses, because he certainly didn't have enough coordination at the moment to hold tight as he stared at the girl in wonderment.

Within a moment his eyes heated up like fire doused on propane. "I guess I was wrong," Damon said, finally gulping down his own shot without blinking at the girl.

Bonnie felt herself come alive underneath his stare, or maybe it was the double shots. Either way, she felt less tense, warm, and most of all daring. "If you continue to think I can't handle things," Her eyes glided down to his belt before going back up flashing under the strobe light like methane, "then I hope I never prove you right again."

Damon smirked at the girl and she smirked right back.

No one paid attention to the couple as they connected in their little bubble. Elena and Stefan had started macking on each other and Tyler and Caroline had gotten tequila shots for each other. No one had any idea about what was going on with the pair except for Jeremy who was stewing in anger along the side of the bar.

Since the beginning of the night, he had barely taken his eyes off of Bonnie, long before she acknowledged his presence in the club. Every moment she spent talking to the tall dark-haired creep never went remis from Jeremy Gilbert.

He had let her have her couple of months to get over her hurt from him cheating–he was an asshole sometimes but he knew she would get over it, and now he wanted to talk about them getting back together. That's why he invited himself when he overheard Elena talking about it on a phone call to Bonnie while he visited her dorm that morning. He had shown up first, before Caroline and Tyler. Once she arrived, Caroline had used that time while feeling bored waiting for the other two girls, to lay in on him and threaten him from pulling any kind of shit tonight. He was that close to just leaving after she called him an immature idiot for the fifteenth time when he finally saw Bonnie's beautiful awe-stricken face exit out of the elevator.

He didn't realize how much he missed her until he saw her impeccable smile. She truly had the best smile he'd ever seen. On top of that, she was the prettiest girl he'd ever dated. It took him years of wearing her down to finally get a date, so he didn't know why he messed up all of the time. Women often wondered how men could cheat on beautiful women, especially the ones with the full package like Bonnie had–beauty, brains, personality…and to be honest, men themselves didn't even know. Jeremy certainly came up short when asked.

He'd like to think it was because he wasn't satisfied in some way by their relationship. He had Bonnie, but sometimes he felt like he didn't really have her, have her. Like she was holding back because she didn't trust him. Their sex life was another conversation. He loved having sex with Bonnie, she was a feast for the eyes even without makeup and baggy sweats on, her pussy was the tightest he'd ever had and she always smelled so good. But she often complained about him wanting her too much, and he never got the feeling she truly enjoyed being with him in that way even though he was having a blast. Sometimes she'd even beg him to hurry up or be quick. When you're in the arms and depths of the woman you love, that's the last thing you want to hear.

Now seeing her again after so long, after the frosty replies to his messages and the ignored calls, he finally gets to see her pretty face again, but he had to deal with it being pointed at another man ninety-nine percent of the time. Jeremy was raging.

And who was this guy? Damon Salvatore is what he heard the man introduce himself to Caroline as then he followed up with him being Stefan's older brother.

Jeremy thought he was a prick.

He was good-looking in that way that stated he already knew he was before you could decide it. His clothes were tailored and expensive, and anytime he wasn't looking at Bonnie or Stefan he was damn near giving someone a sneer. He didn't even acknowledge Jeremy with more than a fleeting glance. Yet, here he was flirting with his girlfriend any chance he could get and looking that close to fucking her in front of everyone once Bonnie gave him the okay!

Jeremy clenched his fists and tightened his jaw. Glaring at the couple, he damn near thanked Elena when she gave Bonnie a mixed drink that incidentally ended the eye fucking between Bonnie and Damon. The two girls started chatting, soon after bringing Caroline into the mix and that gave Damon the cue to move over to his brother and Tyler who were talking about something or another.

Jeremy felt very left out, knowing he wouldn't feel welcome no matter which group he decided to intervene in.

He needed to figure out a way to get Bonnie alone…

Thoughts?

Just when Damon and Bonnie are growing exceptionally closer, look who shows up, hehe. What kind of spiel do you think Jeremy will come up with to win Bonnie back? Do you think Stefan is right? Do you think Damon is in love?

Editing right now, but I hope I can get the next chapter out soon!
