Hello, I thank you all for over 2k views on my fanfic. Here is a new chapter of the fan fav fanfic. Sorry for the people who wanted stories about Naruto's time as Octopus aka an assassin. Sadly, I'd like to get to the main story quickly and I can't exactly think of many ways to come up with several different stories about being an assassin that are interesting. Also, sorry for Sakura fans, just a warning, she may be bashed for some time. Not because I don't like her, just I feel as if her character needs a dramatic shake up. I'm also changing how some thigs work such as Genin exams work. Her character will be redeemed later on, I promise. I won't give too much spoilers though.
"Octopus, in position?" a voice said over a crackly radio.
"Yup, on the cliff and my scope has spotted the target Hawk," responded Octopus.
"Good, Spider, in position?" came the voice of the now revealed Hawk.
"Yup, up in the shadows ready to fall," came an overly cheerful voice.
"Ok, 3, 2, 1, go," said Hawk as multiple things happened at once. Octopus pulled the trigger on his rifle killing his target, Spider fell from off the top of his targets tent with a sword stabbing through the targets brain, and Hawk shot a sedative through his bow at his target. They all left after completing their kills except Hawk who went to grab his asleep target.
All 3 of them ran back to Konoha after a well-done mission. They met up a mile out of the village at the agreed rendezvous point. "I'm assuming we all completed our assigned goals," said Hawk. Both of his teammates nodded. "Ok, let's go back to Konoha and report to the Hokage about our successful mission." His teammates both nodded again as they sprinted to Konoha.
"Another mission completed, well done." said the Hokage. "This idea of assassination teams has been working very well," the Hokage nodded satisfied after completing that sentence.
"Right, although speaking of teams, I believe today is the last day for Octopus," came the sad voice of Hawk.
"Ah yes, Octopus, today is your last day. Tomorrow is you shall be assigned a Genin team so go to the academy to get your team. Now I think I will leave you guys to celebrate Octopus' last day," said the Hokage with a light smile.
"Alright let's part then!" said the overly cheerful Spider.
"Yah let's go, I'll leave the prisoner here," said Hawk as he dropped his target. "So, what should we do to celebrate?" asked Hawk as they left the Hokage's tower.
"Let's go out drinking with our friends!" yelled Spider. "Here I'll get them," with that Spider disappeared in a blur.
Octopus sighed as he took off his mask, "Well, I'm assuming we'll be going at 9, like usual."
"Right see you around," said Hawk as he also disappeared. Naruto shook his head as he ran back to his house, now that he took off his mask, he could be Naruto. He had to prepare for the next day, he hoped he would get on a team with Sasuke. After he became an assassin, they met less but they still sometimes trained together. He was the person Naruto worked with the best. Also, his scores were 0s across the board meaning he would most likely get assigned with Rookie of the year, who would most likely be Sasuke, and whoever the Kunoichi of the year was. Naruto decided to take a nap since he had a while until 9, and he had nothing better to do so after grabbing a snack he went, flopped onto his couch and fell asleep.
Naruto woke up to knocking on his door, he rubbed his eyes awake, grabbed his make, before opening his door. "Hey Octopus, it's time to party!" yelled Spider.
"Right, let's go," responded Octopus. The duo ran off to their favorite ninja bar. When the 2 arrived, they saw a group of people, all conversing and waiting for them. "Hey Kurenai, Asuma, Gai, Hawk!" yelled Octopus while waving his hand. Everyone turned to face the new arrivals.
"Hey Octopus," responded Asuma with a small wave. "Let's go inside now." They all nodded and entered the bar. They found some seats that they took.
"So, Asuma, Kurenai, are you 2 dating yet?" asked Hawk.
They both spat out their drinks and started sputtering, "N-no, why would you ask that?" asked them both in indignation.
"I don't know, maybe it's because it's obvious you 2 like each other," replied Octopus who sighed as they both asked, "What?" Octopus shook his head in exasperation. "Do you guys think your discrete? If you do, then you must think sneaking into a mansion involves blowing up the front door."
"At least I'm not being made a Genin," replied Kurenai.
"Oh, shut up," responded Octopus clearly agitated by the comment. "We all know I can take you any day of the week."
"Oh, shut up calamari, I can wipe you out with my genjutsu." said Kurenai.
"I'm an octopus, not a squid, also at least I have skills in more than 1 field," responded Octopus.
"You wanna take this outside takoyaki?"
"GUYS CALM DOWN! We're in the springtime of our youth! no need for this pointless argument, take this into a youthful competition!" said Gai as he was waving slightly from the drinks.
"How bout we have a 'youthful conversation' about shutting you up?" asked Hawk.
"Yah! Let's take this outside!" yelled Spider.
"Everyone, we're here to celebrate Octopus becoming a Genin, even though that's a demotion," said Asuma with a chuckle. "A toast to Octopus!" They all moved up their cups for a toast before downing their drinks.
"Do ya'll know what team I'll be on though?" asked Octopus who was starting to feel a bit woozy.
"Well, tommora is testin an de Hokag will decide teams afterrrr. Apparenly, he is goin with diffren teams dis year than da usual as expiremess," said Gai.
"Hopefully I'll be on Sasuke's team, he is the only person I'm actually friends with," said Octopus. "Anyways, Ima call it a night, bye!" Octopus ran out to return to his house. When he arrived, he took off his mask and prepared for the shower. Naruto took off his coat and black hakama pants left in only his white shirt and grey shorts. He looked at himself in the mirror before smiling and taking off his beanie. He quickly took off the rest of his clothes as he entered the shower.
He came out and put on a bit of clothing before going to bed. He had an important day tomorrow and wasn't going to be late.
When Naruto woke up, he found himself to be almost late. He would have to leave soon if he was going to make it on time. Naruto ran and pulled on his clothing before grabbing a ration bar from his kitchen. He threw open the door before starting to sprint to the academy. When he arrived and slid open the door, he found a comical sight to say the least. Sasuke had his head in his arms as he was doing his best to ignore Sakura and Ino arguing over who got the seat next to him.
Naruto decided to put Sasuke out of his misery and walked over to the seat. "I'll be taking this, thank you very much," said Naruto as he sat down in the seat. Sasuke's eared perked as he heard the familiar voice, he turned his head and his eyes brightened as he saw his best friend.
"Naruto!? You're here? I won't be trapped in this hell hole without any friends at all. It's a miracle!" yelled Sasuke. Sakura and Ino were about to go and attack Naruto to get him out of the seat, but the bell rang before they could, so they reluctantly went for other seats.
"Good morning class, today you will all be taking the Genin test to see if you are worthy of being a shinobi. There will be a written portion, taijutsu portion, weapon portion like kunai and shuriken, and then a jutsu portion." said Iruka as he started class. Iruka and his assistant, Mizuki, started going around handing out papers. Everyone seemed to be doing fine on it with the people who finished it the quickest being Sakura, followed by Sasuke, and then Naruto.
"All right, let's move onto taijutsu, you will be put up into a spar with someone else at random," said Iruka as he collected all the tests. "Rules, only taijutsu, no fatal attacks, you lose if you get knocked out of the ring or you get knocked unconscious."
"First match, Hyuga Hinata against Inuzuka Kiba!" The 2 got into stances at the center both prepared to start the battle with Hinata being significantly more nervous. Kiba started the match by lunging with a fist to the stomach that Hinata blocked. She tried to jab him, but he dodged. Kiba then tried to kick her, but she ducked and struck his leg causing him to wince. Kiba quickly leaped away as he prepared to charge once more. Kiba attacked once more this time jumping above and trying to punch her in the face. Hinata pushed his fist to the side which Kiba used to twist his body and kick her. Hinata was pushed away but she quickly regained control and took the initiative and charged. The match ended quickly after that when Hinata quickly shut off all his chakra points. With a quick and high pitched, "Sorry!" Hinata left the ring looking all red in the face.
"Next match, rando(random no named girl) and Haruno Sakura!" The girls got onto the stage and got into the academy beginning stance. The 2 girls both came to the same conclusion, this would be a battle for their precious Sasuke. They started by charging each other. Sakura sent a punch at rando who dodged the attack. Rando sent 3 jabs in quick succession. Sakura blocked with her arms before twisting her body to kick the rando. Rando jumped back before charging and leaping with a flying kick. Sakura got kicked down but she got up. Both girls were panting heavily at that point. The 2 nodded as they came up with an idea. They both ran at each other and sent a kick at each other's heads. They stood up yet again both almost knocked out. Sakura got a new rush of power as she couldn't let herself lose in front of her precious Sasuke. Sakura pulled back her arm and sent it flying at rando. The rando did her best to block and lifted her arms but was knocked down onto the ground unconscious. Sakura wasn't much better as she fell onto her knees. Medics came and picked them up and carried them away.
"Uchiha Sasuke and Nara Shikamaru step up!" The 2 stood up with Sasuke sighing about a boring match and Shikamaru sighing because of a bad matchup. Sasuke decided to just play around and leaped at Shikamaru while Shikamaru ran away to the edge of the ring. Sasuke then charged him again, but Shikamaru jumped up and tried to push Sasuke out of the ring, but Sasuke overpowered Shikamaru and shoved him off. Sasuke then appeared before Shikamaru and barraged him with a series of punches and kicks. Shikamaru was thrown back before he sighed and stepped out of the ring.
"Aburame Shino, Akimichi Choji, step up!" Choji took the initiative and ran to Shino before pulling back his fist. Choji sent a powerful punch at Shino. Shino dodged to the side before trying to jab Choji several times in quick succession. Choji lifted his other arm and blocked each punch not even flinching. Choji then tried punching him again before Shino jumped up and kicked at Choji's face. Choji blocked and tried punching at Shino while he was in the air. In response, Shino kicked off of Choji's arm. the kick made Choji lose balance which Shino used to appear under Choji's guard. Shino started punching Choji but Choji took it before sending a large punch in Shino's stomach. Shino was sent flying back and collapsed onto the ground holding his stomach. Shino slowly got up to counter but his face was met with another fist as he hit the ground outside of the ring not getting up. A medic came and carried away Shino.
"Now, Uzumaki Naruto and Yamanaka Ino!" Naruto started the match by running towards her and sending a kick at her leg. Ino jumped over the kick, but Naruto brought his leg down and in a showing of flexibility brought his other leg straight up kicking at Ino while she was in the air. Ino grabbed his leg and tried to throw Naruto. Naruto proved to be stronger though and threw her down to the ground. Naruto appeared right in front of Ino as she stood back up and sent a punch at her stomach. Ino grabbed onto his punch to throw it away. Naruto used his other hand to grab onto her arm before turning around and jumping. He carried her up before spinning in the air and slamming her down to the ground. Ino tried to stand back up but was kicked in the stomach and sent out of the ring. A single medic came and carried her away.
