Chapter 4: The Battle Has Begun!

September 10, 2010

Outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina

The Chaffee rolled forward into the darkness, Tomas had switched on the headlights, but even this had barely any benefit on Tomas' ability to navigate. Inside the turret, Kay was recalibrating the gun sights while Jonathan was taking a quick power nap. Eryn had a map and was attempting to navigate where they were, but due to the complete darkness that was shrouded around them, this was made nearly impossible.

A little while later, the Chaffee had come across a crossroad. Eryn saw this and looked on his map to try and decipher where they were located, he managed to find where they were and saw that one of the roads led deeper into the forest while the other led to a field in the middle of the map. Eryn now had to weigh his options, what advantages and disadvantages could be present if he decided on either route? After a while, he and his crew had come up with the potential benefits and consequences for each one.

Forest Road: Potential to set up an ambush Great concealment from others, armor disadvantage mostly negated due to close ranges, difficult to navigate, especially without proper visibility, can also be ambushed, also difficult to spot and acquire other targets, can easily disengage from fights.

Open Field Road: Can easily spot others if light is on, easier to navigate, huge armor disadvantage if fighting a heavy or medium tank, an ambush is nearly impossible, can easily be spotted, cannot disengage if shot at.

The group considered their options before coming to a mutual consensus. Eryn looked at everyone before asking for their opinion.

"Which road do we take guys?" Eryn asked.

"Forest." Everyone responded simultaneously.

"Huh, alright." Eryn said. "Tomas, turn right and follow the road.

Once again, the Chaffee moved forward and followed the road, Eryn opened the hatch and carefully looked around him, the darkness made it nearly impossible to see anything in the tree line. Even then, Eryn still peered into the trees, there was an unsettling feeling within him which told him that something was out there.

Out in the distance, a light started peering through the trees. Eryn immediately caught on and observed it, it appeared tp be swaying as the light got closer and closer towards the tank. Eryn came to the conclusion that it was a tank, he ordered Tomas to stop and had Jonathan load a round, Kay had her finger on the trigger ready to fire at what was to come. As the light came closer and closer, anticipation and fear filled the tank. Everyone started sweating as it rounded the corner.

To their most upmost surprise, the object with the light wasn't a tank; it turned out to be the T-34's assistant driver Jacob. Eryn looked at him in surprise and shouted.

"Why aren't you in your tank?" Eryn shouted, Jacob looked at Eryn and smirked.

"Checkmate!" Jacob said.

A bright light shined onto them, Eryn looked towards it's source and saw that it was the T-34, covered in shrubbery and branches. As soon as he saw it, Eryn's face dropped as he closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable. However, a shot never came and Eryn opened his eyes again. He saw that Cara was peeking outside of the hatch smirking at him.

"I'm assuming your gonna spare me?" Eryn asked.

"Mhm-" Cara said. "Wanna team up?"

"A weird way to ask, but sure I guess." Eryn responded.

The T-34 drove out of it's cover and parked beside the Chaffee, Cara and her crew disembarked from the tank with Cara gesturing Eryn to do the same. Eryn called his friends out of the tank, they all dismounted and met up with Cara's crew.

"What's the plan?" Lillie asked, Cara pulled out a map and laid it on the T-34's front plate.

"So, my idea basically has us stay around the forest. We will cover our tanks in camouflage and bushes and wait for other tanks to come across us."

"So basically an ambush?" Eryn noted, to which Cara nodded.

"You guys get it?" Cara said, everyone nodded yes and they all mounted up in their vehicles. The two tanks drove around the forest until they found a suitable area to setup their ambush.

As they approached the last corner, a tank suddenly swung into view and crashed into Cara's T-34, Eryn and Cara were caught in complete surprise as the tank, which was a Panzer IV looked like it appeared from nowhere, it had burn and scorch marks all over it. Immediately, Cara and Eryn ordered their gunners to traverse their turrets towards the Panzer IV. Before they could fire, the hatch popped open and revealed a young man who bore suspiciously bright blonde hair and blue eyes, he looked at the two commanders and waved his arms, signaling not to shoot.

"Don't shoot, don't shoot!" He pleaded, Eryn looked down at Kay and said something.

"Hold your fire, but get ready to shoot this guy if you think he's trying to set us up for something" Eryn said, Kay threw him a thumbs up.

"Why shouldn't we shoot you?" Cara questioned.

"Well uh-" He replied. "We want to team up with you."

Cara and Eryn looked at each other with suspicious faces, should they trust this guy? He noticed their expressions and attempted to clear his case.

"K, I know this seems suspicious but please trust me on this. There was a duo of heavies in the field, I'm talking a Churchill and a KV-1. I had another group with me but they were taken out, I was the only one who made it out." He said.

"Hmm-" Cara droned, she thought carefully before coming to a conclusion. "Fine, you can join. What's your name?"

"Peter, Peter Muller." He replied.

"Alright Peter, do you know where all the other tanks are?" Eryn asked.

"I saw most of them out in the field, it was a huge brawl out there. I also didn't see any enter the forest."

Eryn dropped his head and rubbed his chin with his fingers. If no tanks had made it to the forest, then that would mean that setting up repeated ambushes would be pointless.

"Cara, our plan won't work. There's probably nobody here." Eryn said.

"Yeah- We need to reconsider." Cara agreed.

"What was your plan anyway?" Peter asked.

"We planned on hiding and ambushing whoever drove through the forest." Eryn explained, Peter nodded in impressiveness.

"We can probably do that again," Peter said. "We can camouflage our tanks and hide wherever the forest meets the field, and we can just wait there until someone comes close enough to us."

"I can roll with that." Cara concurred, Eryn nodded in approval.

"Alright, lets roll." Peter ordered. The Panzer IV turned around and drove down the road with the Chaffee and T-34 in tow.

The trio of tanks had a long way to go before they would arrive at the field. For the most part, the ride had been pretty silent; with the only sounds being the tank's engines and minor small talk between each tank's crew. These talks although minor, provided a brief insight on everyone's background and passed the time really well.

"Why did you guys start Tankery?" Cara asked.

"My dad did Tankery, so I kinda wanted to be like him." Eryn responded.

"Ooo-" Peter said. "Was he good at it?"

"Yeah, but that was back in the 90's" Eryn informed.

"I see, what's his name?" Cara questioned.

"Joel Silva." Eryn replied. Cara and Peter both looked at him with faces of shock and awe.

"JOEL SILVA!?" Both of them shrieked, Eryn was then yanked into the turret of the Chaffee, Kay forcefully made him face her.

"You're the son of Joel Silva?" Kay exclaimed, with bits of excitement leaking through her voice.

"Y-yeah?" Eryn said, a bit frightened. "What's the big deal?"

"What's the big deal?" Jonathan mimicked. "Your dad is THE Joel Silva, considered one of the best Tankery athletes in the world!"

"Alright, alright I know." Eryn exasperated with a bit of annoyance. "Can we talk about my dad later?"

After their little conversation about Eryn's dad, the trio of tanks had made it to the tree line. They found suitable positions that overlooked the field and covered their tanks in camouflage, all they had to do now was wait. The field was littered with knocked out tanks of various types, it looked as if a war had happened. Peter scouted the area with his binoculars, he saw that there was a lone Matilda which looked to be running away from something. Just then, a Churchill tank and a KV-1 appeared in Peter's line of sight. The two heavy tanks fired at the Matilda, with the Matilda desperately swerving to avoid fire. Due to the Matilda's top speed of just 15 mph, it couldn't hope to avoid fire and was then knocked out by the KV-1's gun.

Cara and Eryn also watched the entire thing happen through their binoculars. Both of them wanted to open fire at the tanks, but they knew that it was a bad move and would give away their position. Peter however, thought otherwise; he grabbed his radio and told Cara and Eryn of his plan.

"Guys, I'm gonna open fire on the KV-1!" Peter informed.

"Wait!" Cara warned. "Let them get closer."

Peter complied, and waited for the tank to get closer. Eventually, the KV-1 had made it to a desirable range, and Peter got ready to fire.

"Range to target- 700 meters, fire when ready!" Peter ordered.

"Firing!" Peter's gunner: Kurt said.

The Panzer IV fired, the Panzergranate 39 round zoomed towards the KV-1 and slammed into the side plating. The KV-1 buckled to the right and stopped moving, a white flag popped out signifying it's defeat. The crew of the Panzer IV celebrated their small victory.

"Woohoo! Tank destroyed baby!" Kurt exclaimed.

"Nice!" Peter congratulated.

The shot wouldn't go unnoticed however, a moment later; the Churchill traversed it's turret which faced the tree line, it started scanning the area and found its target: the Panzer IV. It was the easiest to spot due to it's silver paint and lackluster camouflage job done by the crew. A shot from the Churchill then burst from it's barrel and towards the unlucky recipient, the round lodged itself into the lower glacis of the Panzer and wrecked it. The Panzer IV was now out of action.

"Dammit!" Peter cursed.

To the remaining two tanks surprise, the Churchill had turned away and started to drive off. Eryn watched it as he confirmed that the Churchill had only spotted the Panzer IV, he grabbed his radio and informed Cara.

"It didn't spot us!" Eryn said.

"Good, let's take it out then," Cara replied. "Arielle, take aim at the Churchill!"

Eryn did not agree with this action, he turned on his radio again and spoke to Cara once more. "Don't shoot it! You really think that our guns can take it out from here?"

"Alright, alright! Arielle don't fire." Cara said.

"What should we do?" Eryn asked.

"Hmm-" Cara droned. "You think it's good to close the distance?"

"In an open field like this?" Eryn responded.

"You got any other ideas?" Cara sassed.

"Fine, fine." Eryn concurred. "We can use some of those destroyed tanks for cover, I guess."

"Got it, on my mark." Cara ordered. "Go!"

The T-34 and Chaffee rolled out of their cover and drove into the field. While there were some tanks that could provide cover for them, the way they were spaced out meant that there were some areas with ample cover and others that were just total death traps if attempted to use for cover. The two tanks still had bushes and camouflage applied to them. It was next to useless however, as they both still stuck out like sore thumbs in the massive field.

By now, the two tanks were now just 300 meters from the Churchill, Eryn ordered to slow down so that the clanking of the tracks and engine noise would be drowned out by the Churchill's own. The tanks had parked behind their last piece of tank cover, which could barely cover the two of them. Eryn had his head out of the hatch, eyeing on the massive box-like tank. The commander of the Churchill also peeked their head out of the tank and looked behind them, they made direct eye contact with Eryn for about 10 seconds. The Churchill commander then grabbed their radio and shrieked at it, the tank then began traversing its towards Eryn.

"Cara, we've been spotted!" Eryn shouted into the microphone.

"Oh crap, what do we do?" Cara panicked. Eryn slumped into his seat and stroked his chin. A few seconds later, he had an idea.

"Okay, I got right and you got left." Eryn ordered, Cara gave a sound of approval and the two commanders got ready for action.

"Brett, forward!"

"Tomas, charge!"

The two tanks peeked out of cover simultaneously and took aim at the boxy beast. To Cara's surprise, the Churchill had taken aim at the T-34 and fired a round right into the side. The T-34 shuddered to the left, with parts of it's camouflage flying everywhere. The Chaffee then stopped and took aim to avenge the T-34.

"Kay, fire!" Eryn screamed.

"On the way!" Kay responded.

The 75mm gun of the Chaffee jolted backwards and ejected a casing from it's breech, as an armor piercing round sped towards the target. It hit the Churchill on the turret roof and generated a small dust cloud, Eryn peeked out of the hatch and eyed the tank. The dust had cleared, and the result shocked Eryn. The Churchill was still very much alive, the round from the Chaffee had only left a small dent and a paint scratch. The gun of the Churchill might as well have been pointing towards Eryn's soul, as the mere view of the Churchill's gun pointing at the Chaffee made his stomach drop. Instead of grieving however, Eryn's emotions turned into actions. He slammed his hand on the roof of the Chaffee and shouted into the microphone.

"Reverse, reverse, REVERSE!" Eryn screamed. Tomas put the Chaffee in reverse and slammed the accelerator. The Churchill fired at the Chaffee, the round grazed the Chaffee's sand skirt and drove deep into the ground. The Chaffee stopped behind the destroyed T-34 for cover.

"Holy shit!" Tomas gasped. "That was way too close."

"Agreed!" Lillie said.

"What now?" Jonathan questioned with desperation. "What the hell do we do?"

Eryn peered at the Churchill, it started making its way towards the Chaffee, he needed to come up with a plan before it was too late. Eryn slumped into his seat and started thinking of ways to win. A moment later, he had come up with one, he dropped down into the hatch and told his crew about his plan.

"Alright, we ready?" Eryn said.

"Yup!" His crew responded with motivation.

Eryn waited for the Churchill to get closer, he clenched his fists as it trekked closer and closer. The Churchill had now gotten into range, and Eryn gave the order.

"Now!" Eryn roared.

In quick succession, the Chaffee fired a smoke shell and a smoke grenade between itself and the Churchill, Eryn then ordered the Chaffee to drive forward. As it approached the smoke, Eryn closed the hatch so that he wouldn't inhale too much of the smoke. Tankery approved smoke shells didn't contain the same formula that normal white phosphorus shells had, which made them much safer for recreational use in Tankery. Although, the Tankery formula reeked of a strong paint smell which was still unpleasant, but not harmful to inhale.

The Chaffee reached the other side of the smoke shell and stopped, it turned back towards the smoke screen and waited for it to dissipate enough so that it could get a shot on the Churchill. The Churchill drove farther into the smoke, the commander had also closed their hatch which limited their visibility. Just then, the Churchill rammed into something, the commander saw that it was a tank and ordered the gunner to fire at it. The shot drove into it and blew away some of the smoke. It was revealed that it was the T-34 which had been taken out earlier.

"Oh shit!" The commander screamed.

"What'd we hit?" The gunner questioned.

"The same T-34 we took out earlier!" The commander shouted.

The bright muzzle flash from the gun had revealed the silhouette of the Churchill. Eryn ordered Kay to traverse the turret towards the silhouette and to fire at it.

"Kay, fire!" Eryn ordered.

"On it's way!" Kay said.

The gun of the Chaffee fired, the shell traveled into the smoke in which a metallic clang was heard and a spark was generated. Eryn opened his hatch and eyed the smoke, his heart thumped as the smoke started to dissipate. To his delight, the Churchill laid still and bore a white flag on its turret.

"Yes!" Eryn applauded, he looked down at his crew. "We did it!"

"Woohoo!" Jonathan shouted, he turned to Kay and high-fived her.

Mr. Moran watched from a tower post in the starting area, he saw the entire battle in the field go down. He hung his head low with a smirk and began thinking to himself.

"This team is full of talent." Mr. Moran thought, he then looked up towards the night sky in pride. One student in particular had him most interested.

"Congrats Joel, your son is a tanker now."

All of the tanks had made their way back to the starting area where Mr. Moran was waiting. By now, it was 10 PM and had been dark for quite a while now. The students were all exhausted and were impatiently waiting for Mr. Moran's final words so that they could go back home and crash their beds. Mr. Moran approached the crowd of students with his trusty megaphone and started speaking.

"Alright I know that all of you are tired. But first, let me give a couple more words before you all go home." Mr. Moran stated.

"Firstly, well done to all of you. That battle may have been short for some, but do not let that downplay what you think you will become in your time in Tankery, as this is most likely your first experience in an actual battle. To those who made it far, I congratulate your skill and wisdom and hope that you will continue to show such skill in our future matches."

"Secondly, I have informed all of your parents to those who don't live in dorms that the tryout will stretch well into the night and to pick you up around this time. Finally, I forward to training all of you. you have displayed excellent talent and I hope to mold all of you into great tankery athletes by the time you get to high school. Now, lets head back shall we?"

The students applauded Mr. Moran's speech and complied with his order, they all mounted up in their tanks and drove back to the school. Eryn's Chaffee was second in the long convoy, with Mr. Moran in a M8 Armored Car acting as the lead vehicle. Behind Eryn was the same Churchill that he took out during the battle royale. Eryn looked back at the Churchill's commander. The commander had their head out of the hatch and was gazing at the landscape towards the side. They had a WW2 style helmet on, which partly covered the long, bright blonde hair they bore. Eryn turned back and looked onward.

"I'm assuming your the one who commands the Chaffee?" A voice rang out to Eryn, he turned back once more and saw that the commander of the Churchill was facing him.

"Yeah, yeah I am." Eryn responded.

"I see, names Nicki." Nicki said.

"Eryn." Eryn replied back.

"Just wanted to say that was a real fun brawl we had out there, you had me starstruck." Nicki complimented.

"Hehe- thanks." Eryn said with a smile. "Y'know, you seemed like you did Tankery back then, did you?"

"Yeah- been doing it since grade 6." Nicki informed. "What about you?"

"Nah, just started." Eryn stated. "I did it because of my dad."

"Your dad did Tankery?" Nicki questioned. "What's his name?"

Eryn sighed, he knew Nicki was gonna freak out if he mentioned his dad. "Joel Silva." Eryn deadpanned.

As expected, Nicki's jaw dropped. "Your dad is Joel Silva?" She squealed.

"Yes, yes he is." Eryn sighed.

"Can I get his autograph?" Nicki pleaded in excitement.

"Let me ask him if he picks me up." Eryn said, Nicki squealed once more.

A while later, the tanks had made it back to the main garage, Mr. Moran and his staff managed to coordinate the tanks back into a neatly organized manner like how they were when the students first entered the garage. After, Mr. Moran led the students outside for one last speech.

"Okay, I promise this is the last speech of the day." Mr. Moran said, well aware of the combined dread the students had.

"We have our first practice on Tuesday morning, where we will learn the basics of maintaining your tanks and normal practice procedures. All of you have shown talent in your positions, but talent is waste of you don't practice. That is all, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Good night, god bless and may the force be with you!"

The students cringed at Mr. Moran's last statement, some had started to make their way home while others loitered around, talking to their friends. Eryn himself was talking to his friends about todays tryout.

"I can't believe we made it!" Kay squealed.

"I know, it really does feel great." Jonathan agreed.

"Mhmm!" Lillie said. "A dream come true."

Eryn and his friends kept conversating when another group of kids started approaching them, it was Cara and her friends.

"Hi Cara and friends!" Eryn greeted.

"We have names y'know." Arielle jokingly scoffed, Eryn and his friends giggled.

"Ha, just wanted to say congrats on being last ones standing." Cara said.

"Honestly, I kinda wanted it to be you guys being shot and us getting the kill." Brett admitted.

"Heh, sucks for you guys I guess." Jonathan sneered.

"We're getting you guys the next time we do something like this." Jacob lightheartedly declared.

The group laughed and conversated with each other for a while longer. Eryn looked around him and saw that his dad had made his way to the main garage and was talking to Mr. Moran. His dad made eye contact with Eryn and gestured him to come over. Eryn pointed at his friends, gesturing "can they come too?", Eryn's dad nodded. Eryn started walking and asked his friends to tag along with him. He knew that his dad would be chill with meeting fans, he witnessed some fans having interactions with him when the family would go out.

"You guys wanna talk to my dad now?" Eryn invited as he walked towards him, the group nodded and trailed behind him. They all paced quickly to meet the Tankery Superstar.

"Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod!" Kay, Cara, Jonathan and Tomas hyperventilated.

"I can't believe it, the real deal Joel Silva!" Lillie gasped in excitement.

Eryn's dad finished talking to Mr. Moran and faced Eryn, the two hugged each other for a moment before releasing their grasp on each other.

"Hi dad!" Eryn greeted, his dad reciprocated the greeting. "Hey Eryn."

"How was it?" Eryn's dad questioned.

"It was great, Tankery is a lot more adrenaline packed than I thought." Eryn said.

"Well, you are in a machine built for war." Eryn's dad chuckled, he turned and saw what looked to be Eryn's friends gawking at him; he could swear that there were sparkles in their eyes.

"I take that these are your friends, Eryn?" Eryn's dad observed.

"Mhmm!" Eryn nodded, he pointed to each of them and listed their names.

"Hi, I take that you are also part of the team, yeah?" Eryn's dad asked, to which all of them responded with nods.

Eryn looked to the side and saw that Nicki was running towards him, he assumed the he also wanted to talk to Eryn's dad. Nicki approached Eryn and greeted him before listening to Eryn's dad. Kay walked up to Eryn's dad with a book and pen in hand, the two made eye contact before Kay showed the book to Eryn's dad.

"C-can I get your autograph?" Kay stammered.

Eryn's dad flashed a smile at her before grabbing the notebook and signing a page with his autograph. He then handed back the notebook to Kay, she then flipped through the pages and saw his autograph. Kay started squealing and then tackled Jonathan into a bear hug, much to his dismay.

"Why me!?" Jonathan groaned.

"I got his autograph, I got his autograph!" Kay screamed, she let go of Jonathan and turned to Eryn's dad. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Don't sweat it." Eryn's dad joyfully replied, he noticed that another one of Eryn's friends approached him: Tomas.

"Uh- how did you get so good at Tankery?" Tomas questioned, Eryn's dad pondered at this question before answering.

"Hmm, I'd say a lot of practice, but practice alone doesn't make a good Tanker. The most important thing to me is bond. A tank cannot function in harmony if the crew despises each other, whoever you have in your crew, you should bond with them and become close with each other. The same principle can be applied to teams in general. One tank, no matter how great it or it's crew is will never win on its own." Eryn's dad summarized.

"Wow- thank you for your input!" Tomas thanked.

"Of course." Eryn's dad responded, he looked down at his watch and saw that it was 3/4 to 11:00. "Eryn, we have to go home now, your mom's probably worried about us."

"Alright," Eryn complied. "See you guys!"

"Bye!" Eryn's friends waved.

Eryn and his father walked towards the parking lot. He was feeling better than ever, he and his crew were the last ones standing which made him proud, like he had lived up to the Silva name. Eryn's dad turned towards him and looked at him, he was proud of him, he'd be following in his footsteps and would hopefully be better than he was. He needed to help him, he didn't want Eryn to make the same mistakes he did.

"Eryn." Eryn's dad called.

"Yeah?" Eryn said.

"I saw the match from afar, and I gotta say, you did really well."

"Oh- uh thanks!" Eryn responded in surprise.

"Just what I expected from my son!" Eryn's dad complimented before he put him in a headlock.

"Dad, stop!" Eryn begged.

The two arrived at the parking lot and entered their car, the drive home was quick and quiet. The car pulled into the parking lot and the two disembarked and entered the house. There, Eryn's mom greeted Eryn with a tight bear hug. Eryn noticed that his dad went into the basement, his curiosity peeked as he predicted that he went in there to grab the items he needs. Eryn's dad exited the basement with a box in hand, the cover was labeled "Tankery stuff".

"Alright Eryn, this box will have things that I used to use for Tankery." Eryn's dad explained.

Eryn opened the box and examined the contents, there was a collection of books along with some equipment. The equipment included a compass, rangefinder and something Eryn couldn't identify. It was a semi circular shaped device that had two plugs, with one being an earphone jack and the other looking like it'd connect to a radio.

"Dad, what is this?" Eryn questioned.

"Ah, this is a throat microphone." Eryn's dad answered, he picked it up and hung it around Eryn's neck. "See?"

"Mhm!" Eryn responded.

Eryn peered into the box once again and pulled out the notebook, it was in semi-decent condition and was labeled "My experience in Tankery: By Joel Silva". Eryn was confused by the book, as his dad had written a book about Tankery with the exact same name.

"Didn't you publish this?" Eryn said.

"Yup, but this one has a lot more things that I decided not to put into the published version." Eryn's dad explained.

"I see."

Eryn flipped through the pages, there was tons of writings and maps scattered throughout the pages, with some having sticky notes with writing different to his dads, Eryn recognized some of the writing to be Mr. Moran's and his mom's.

"Wait, did you and Mr. Moran play with each other?" Eryn asked.

"Yup, back in high school though, not University where I got popular." Eryn's dad said.

Eryn then put all of the contents back into the box and closed the lid, he then picked it up.

"Thanks for all of this dad." Eryn said gratefully.

"Don't worry about it, just make me and your mom proud, okay?"

"I will dad!" Eryn pridefully responded.

Eryn walked up the stairs and entered his bedroom, he set the box down beside the desk and unpacked everything from it. He then sat down in his chair and grabbed the notebook, he was curious about his dad's strategies and experience. Flipping to the first page, Eryn saw that there was a map, it was a flat plain with a massive hill towards the left of the map with a heavily wooded forest on both sides . Under the map, was writing which talked about the strategy for the map. Glossing over the strategy, Eryn deciphered that it talked about how to deal with enemies who have a vantage point.

"The enemy team mostly consists of light tanks which will most definitely get to the hill before us. To deal with the enemy, we will lay a siege and have our artillery blast away at the hill. The forest will act as natural barriers and have the light tanks funneled to one escape only, which is down the hill." Eryn read, he looked to the bottom of the page and saw a sticky note with red writing.

"Instead of having all tanks form a massive line, make use of layered defense with heavy tanks. And have our light tanks act as reserve units should the enemy team attempt to break the siege. These tanks will help relieve pressure on the defense and other far away reserve units can hopefully start an encirclement maneuver."

Eryn looked at his alarm clock and saw that it was almost 12:00. With that, Eryn decided to call it a day and closed the notebook, he got up and started getting ready for bed. He then plopped down onto the mattress and and closed his eyes
