A/N: First let me say thank you so much for all of the reviews I've gained from the last 2 chapters. It really means the world to me. Words can't express how sorry I am that it's taken 5 years to update this fic. A lot has happened in my life where writing took the backburner. I really don't know if anyone would still give this story a chance again, but I would love to keep it going, and hopefully I can make quicker updates. I miss the Bamon/Bamily fandom so much!

Quick side note: If you've ever watched Grey's Anatomy and Scandal, you may see certain quotes from those shows throughout this fic.

Happy Reading! And as always no copyright infringement intended.

Warning: Use of drugs and alcohol in this chapter.

He was standing in the shadows.

As bright as all the colors were flashing throughout the club, there were still certain areas that people might find themselves in if they wanted a little privacy. And Klaus Mikaelson was taking up one of those areas; staring intensely at her.

Waiting for her.

She allowed the bourbon to make its way down her throat for the last time tonight, and before she knew it, she was walking towards his direction.

She followed him further in the shadows, no presence of even the slightest light, and absolutely perfect for what she was about to do.

When Klaus bit into his wrist and held it out in front of her, the veins appeared around her eyes and her mouth connected with his flesh instantly. The blood hitting her tongue made her eyes turn red.

It was simply euphoric.

But it wasn't enough…. she needed more.

Klaus seemed to realize that, as he lifted her chin up to connect with his eyes.

And then he did something that she thought he would never do… especially for her. He exposed his neck and possessively yet gently grabbed the back of her head, bringing her closer to his jugular.

Bonnie wouldn't remember how quick her hands made their way to his shoulders, gripping them to show dominance. She would however, remember sinking her fangs into Klaus's neck and falling into him as he gripped her waist and held onto her for dear life.

The blood invaded her throat quicker than before and it was exactly what she needed.

Exactly what she wanted… and to be honest, she never wanted to stop.

12 hours earlier

The water cascading down Bonnie's body was intended to help her feel relaxed. There was a time where there was nothing like a shower that made her feel alive… even if she wasn't. Yet now, at this moment she didn't really feel that way, and she so desperately wanted to.

If she could get out of her head for a little bit, maybe she could have some semblance of a normal day. She needed it, especially after the last few weeks.

It had been one month since she transitioned, and she would love to say that learning the ways of vampirism came natural, but that would have been further from the truth.

It took close to two weeks for the tears to stop coming every single day and night, and it took a week for her not to feel numb as if she were moving yet not moving at all. Tolerating the taste of blood became easier, but of course easier was putting it mildly, because it would be her luck that drinking blood bags and animal blood didn't suffice her cravings as much as a normal vampire would have.

Nope, she was the witch turned vampire that hungered for vampire blood. And yet there were still moments where sometimes that didn't even make her feel satisfied.

So, needless to say, Bonnie Bennett felt just a little broken.

Which was a step up from last week when she felt more than just a little broken, and took her ring off to wait for the sun to come up and burn her to ashes. It was a moment that she wanted not only herself but the people involved that day to forget.

And because she knew that it would take longer than a week, she felt like three people were walking on eggshells around her and treating her with kid gloves sometimes.

But, why wouldn't they? That day was a very low point for her, and she really had every intention to die. She actually made peace with it.

Flashback

"Bonnie…"

If she weren't too wrapped up in her thoughts and what was about to happen, Stefan's voice wouldn't have startled her.

And yet, she didn't turn around to face him. Her eyes remained ahead of her as she stared out into the distance. The sun would be rising soon, and she knew he was aware of what she was about to do.

"Bonnie, I know what you're feeling, but..."

"I don't think you do." Her voice was barely above a whisper as she cut him off. "I feel like… I feel like I'm moving in slow motion," Her emotions were so heightened and all over the place that even though she felt an unbearable sadness, she also felt numb. "Like I'm moving in slow motion, and everything around me is moving so fast, and I just want to go back… to when I was…" The tears were forming in her eyes, as the one word she wanted to escape her lips, she felt like she didn't deserve to say it. "... but I can't. I feel stuck and there's all this pressure because everyone is hovering around me waiting for me to do something or flip out and cry some more, and I'm happy to do what needs to be done to make everyone feel more comfortable, but i don't know how to do this, I don't know how to be this person, I don't… I don't know who this person is." So she was planning on ending it.

"I thought you weren't a quitter, Bonnie."

Damon's voice shattered her heart. She should have felt when he appeared; expected it even. There was so much anger in his voice, but beyond that anger was pain. So much pain that she was causing him. And when she turned around and saw not only his face and Stefan's, but Caroline's tear stricken face as well, she wanted to break down.

"Don't you see Damon, I can't do this. I was never meant to be a vampire." She was only meant to be a witch, that's who she was born to be.

"And do you think we were? Do you think this was easy on any of us? It's taking you some time, yes, but I promised to help you through all of it, and if you start embracing it more than fighting it, you'll…."

"I don't want to embrace it!" She snapped. "Do you know this place?" She turned her back to them. They were on the highest hill in Mystic Falls surrounded by nothing but trees. A great photo op to some, but to her… to her it was everything. "In all of Mystic Falls, this place was the epitome of nature at its core. I would come here and I would feel everything. But most of all I would feel so connected and safe. That I could do anything, that with all the shit I've been through, coming here made me feel like I could get through it, and now…now I feel nothing. There is no nature, I can't hear it… I can't feel it… taste it. It's no longer me. And who am I without nature? Without my magic…who the hell am I?"

"You're Bonnie Bennett, you're my best friend, you're my…" Damon came closer to her but stopped when she turned back around. "Damnit, Bonnie, I'm not going to let you kill yourself because you believe you can't handle it."

"I'm already dead, Damon, you just need to let me go."

"Like hell." He rushed to her before she could do anything, and the next thing she knew she was in some weird crypt where no sunlight could think about getting through.

"Let me go!" Bonnie struggled to move out of his grasp.

"Stop… just stop!" He yelled at her, shocking her by the raw emotion in his voice and seeing tears in his eyes. "Do you know what would happen if you did this Bonnie, if you were to end your life right here and now? How am I supposed to… I wouldn't… I can't survive without you."

She wasn't expecting for him to bend to his knees and envelope her waist, leaning his head against her stomach.

"You can't leave me, Bonnie. You can't… you can't do this to me."

And she was on her knees now, in his arms, "I won't," she sobbed. "I promise."

Bonnie had no idea what time it was when the tears between them ended. She didn't know how long they stayed where they were in just silence, holding onto each other, both afraid to let go. But, when she lifted from Damon's chest, he was staring at her with enough comfort in his eyes to get her through anything.

He was grabbing her hand before she realized it, sliding her daylight ring onto her finger.

He startled her by kissing said finger, never losing eye contact. "Don't ever take this off again."

End of Flashback

Bonnie would never mention to anyone how they walked back to the boarding house hand in hand, fingers intertwined, and him slightly kissing her hand every so often. Because sometimes it felt like a dream.

But she kept her promise and would do her best to continue keeping it. Making it to the beginning of month number two showed that she was on the right path. Now, if she could get her hunger in order.

"Bonnie, hurry up!" Her best friend's voice invaded her ears, as she knocked on the door. "We can't officially start girls day if you stay in the shower all day."

"I'm coming, I'm coming" Bonnie turned off the water. She would have been in the shower in her room, but she stayed the night in Caroline's room last night and slept in a little later than expected.

"Are Damon and Stefan gone yet?" she said as she walked out of the bathroom, with a towel wrapped around her body. She really didn't want to run into the Salvatore brothers while trying to get to her room.

"I think so." Caroline answered putting the finishing touches on her makeup. "I told Stefan bye ten minutes ago downstairs."

Bonnie smirked, walking out of the room. "Did it end in a smoldering life altering kiss." She knew that Caroline and Stefan were in limbo right now. The staring at each other when no one was looking, the major flirting, and always gravitating next to each other when they were in the same room. Yet, they still weren't doing anything about it.

"Caroline and Stefan sitting in a tree…" Bonnie sang with laughter.

"Ha Ha, you got jokes." Caroline yanked Bonnie's towel off, and used her vampire speed to close the door so she couldn't rush back in.

"Caroline!" Bonnie attempted to cover herself with her arms while looking around, making sure the men of the house wouldn't just pop out of nowhere, especially because her room was on the other side of the hall.

"Better brush up on your vampire speed, bestie." Caroline giggles filled the air.

Bonnie would have given her an aneurysm if things were different.

She decided to walk quickly to her room instead of using her vampire abilities, because then that would result in blood cravings and she didn't feel like going through copious amounts of bagged blood and then trying to drink from her friends today.

And of course as she rounded the corner she ran into none other than Stefan Salvatore.

Her eyes widened as she tried to cover herself even more, and she noticed him look down and look back up quickly. There was a tint forming to his cheeks.

Was Stefan Salvatore blushing?

She immediately sped to her room and ran right into the door. You think after a month she would have gotten the hang of this by now.

But she was in her room with the door locked in less than a second after that. Embarrassed wasn't even the word.

Bonnie knew she didn't have to speak any louder than normal because they would both be able to hear each other.

"I thought you were gone."

"I left something in my room."

"Let's forget and never mention this again…. ever."

"Already forgotten." She could tell after saying that he regretted it. "Not that you have a body that I'd want to forget…"

"Stefan!"

"I mean… enjoy girls day, Bonnie."

She heard the front door of the boarding house shut after that.

Caroline didn't know it yet, but she was definitely buying all of Bonnie's food and drinks today.

After putting on her bra and panties, a knock at her door interrupted her thoughts.

"Care, just five more minutes and I'll be ready." She opened the door, and then immediately closed it.

Of course Damon Salvatore would be standing there, because both of the Salvatore brothers seeing her naked was exactly what she was going for in life.

"Aren't you guys supposed to be knee deep in guys' day already?" She slipped on her robe because if she knew Damon he would open the door in 5, 4, 3, ….

He pushed the door open and she tightened the robe closer around her body. "Like I haven't seen it before, Bon Bon. You remember that lovely little prison world, you thought you saw a mouse in the bathroom, screamed and I got a glorious eye full when I came to your rescue."

Bonnie gave a slight glare. "I thought we said we'd never mention that again."

"You said it, not me."

Bonnie rolled her eyes. "Like I said, what happened to the brotherly bonding?"

"Well, after your little run in with my brother a few minutes ago, I thought I would come in to make sure it didn't happen again." He flopped down on her bed.

"Because your brother seeing me naked is something I wish for every day of my life." She deadpanned and walked to the restroom with her outfit to put on.

Bonnie missed the veins that broke through his eyes.

"I don't think Stefan would like his neck broken every five seconds and then injected with vervain as soon as he regained consciousness."

She didn't hear him stand right in front of the bathroom door.

"Or, I could just pull out his heart."

How many times could one truly roll her eyes? Nevertheless, she chose to ignore him and his craziness. "Seriously, you both were supposed to be gone awhile ago."

"Well, I wanted to make sure you didn't need a pick me up for tonight. Don't want you to get hungry in a room full of humans."

"I would never…"

And because he knew her so well, he expected her to say that. "I know you wouldn't, but you would fight tooth and nail not to drink from a human because that would ultimately hurt you in the process. Being righteous can only last for so long, little vamp."

She opened the door, "Please think of a new nickname, that one doesn't flow."

Damon looked her up and down.

"How do I look?" She twirled around.

He had to control what he really wanted to say, because looking at her in that dress… a dress long enough to let her bend over and not show the world what he would have to kill everyone for seeing, but short enough to show legs that…

"Damon? "Should I choose another color?"

He needed to say something quick because green was definitely her color. What was the point of going out anyways, when they could all just stay home.

"Not bad, judgey, but maybe you should put on some sweats or something. You don't want these pervs thinking the wrong thing."

Bonnie knew that was Damon's way of saying she looked nice.

"As I was saying, I don't mind lending a wrist, my neck, my…." he glanced down jokingly.

She shoved him and laughed. "You're disgusting."

"Yeah, but you love me though."

She really did. Okay, she was a little surprised that that thought popped in her mind. But, she was glad that her and Damon could joke, even if he took his jokes a little too far. After the incident last week, she was sure their friendship would change, but she was grateful it hadn't.

While she walked back into the bathroom to fix her hair and her makeup, she changed the subject back to his initial question. "I'll be okay by the way. I'm full off the blood bags and Caroline gave me a bit of her blood."

Damon made his way behind her, staring at her in the mirror. "I know you well enough to know when you're lying."

She glanced up at him for a second through the mirror, trying not to be aware of how close he was. That was the thing about Damon. Sometimes he got entirely too close and she really was painfully aware now that she was a vampire.

A hungry vampire.

"I'm not lying." She lied.

"I'm just saying, you need more than the little you took from blondie, and I'm here to offer my services."

"Yeah, and remember last time I drank some of your blood. From a cup no less?"

It was when they first realized that vampire blood sated her cravings, Damon volunteered some of his blood in her tea, and after she took a sip, she was automatically on top of him, not recognizing her own speed, and was very close to biting into his neck.

Which caused Elena to be the only one to pull her off of him, even though neither girl realized that Damon wasn't trying to move her. If anything, he was about to wrap his arms around her waist and let her drink from him in front of their little scooby gang.

"No need to harbor on the past."

When she was finished she turned around and Damon was just entirely too close. She tried moving, but his arms boxed her in, against the sink.

"Damon, move."

Of course he didn't. "I'm just trying to help, I know you're trying to fight it."

"And I'm doing a great job." She held her head up high, trying not to look too long into his eyes.

"I'm sure my blood could help."

Bonnie couldn't stand in front of him any longer, because she was hungry, and Damon was basically offering himself to her. And regardless of their friendship, she couldn't allow herself to do that.

"I'm sure you and Elena could do the whole blood sharing thing if you really want someone to drink from you."

That made him remove his hands from the sink, and step back a bit.

"Elena and I do more than share blood." he winked, trying to recover himself really quick. Even though what he said was a lie, Bonnie didn't need to know that.

And Bonnie definitely didn't want to hear that, as she walked around him to leave the bathroom.

"I don't need to hear about my best friends' sex lives." Her stomach churned just saying it, but still smiled so he wouldn't notice. "I'll make sure she's back at an appropriate time. I know how much you hate being away from her." It's all she could really say to change the subject.

As she walked towards the door, he grabbed her arm gently before she could open it.

"I'm serious Bonnie, I just want you to be okay. If you need anything…. anything at all. You know I'm here for you."

Her eyes found his, and she could tell by the way he was staring intently at her that the events from last week flashed in his mind.

"I know Damon, and I appreciate you so much," She touched his arm to provide any amount of comfort she could. "I'm going to be okay. You don't have to worry about me."

They stared at each other a little longer than both expected, so Damon did the only thing he knew how to do.

"If you ladies get drunk and start feeling each other up, call me so I can put my many talents to use."

"As I said before, disgusting." Bonnie shook her head, yet laughed.

When she walked out of the room, Damon touched his arm where her fingers just were. Yeah, he definitely needed a drink.

And afterwards, he would make sure his little brother knew the routes he needed to take in the boarding house to make sure what happened earlier didn't happen again.

Brunch turned into lunch which turned into dinner and dancing at the newly renovated Mystic Grille. Although all three of them could now share the fact that they had an increasingly high tolerance, they were at the point where they were testing the limits on that. Especially with the magical herbs Bonnie had tucked away for a time where they could all partake again.

It was safe to say that Bonnie, Caroline, and Elena were definitely past the point of tipsy.

"Guys, I missed this." Elena slurred, taking a sip of her cocktail and bobbing her head to the music. "It's been so long since we were just able to hang out… just us girls."

Bonnie and Caroline both agreed.

"Bonnie, I'm so glad you brought the good stuff, I really wanted to feel it tonight." Caroline swayed to the music. "And I am really feeling it."

As the girls continued talking about any and everything, the vibration of Bonnie's phone pulled her out of their conversation.

It was a text message from Damon. Actually, there were quite a few text messages from Damon from throughout the day.

Are you done with brunch yet?-D

Take a shot of Bourbon for me :)- D

Stefan's boring, you girls want company?-D

Seriously, girls day has to be the whole day?-D

We're due for a movie night-D

She quickly texted back, not wanting to spoil their time by being on the phone.

Seriously, lol. You need to be focused on bonding with your brother, like I'm bonding with YOUR girlfriend and my bestie from another nestie… Bonnie chuckled out loud at her joke. She always knew she was hilarious. Movie night sounds fun! I'm sure Lena and Care would be down too.- B

"What's so funny?" Caroline tried to look at her phone, but Bonnie hid it. "Oooh, a secret lover?"

As she was about to put her phone away, her phone vibrated again.

"Where would I have time to have a secret lover?"

Someone's drunk ;) -D

Just remember who your number ONE bestie is-D

"I'm just saying, Bon, it's time to get back on the horse. How long has it been?"

And the movie is just for us-D

Like old times-D

"Damon hasn't texted me at all since we've been out." Elena's voice almost made Bonnie drop her phone.

Bonnie didn't miss a bit of an eye roll from Caroline. Elena mentioned Damon the majority of their day, and ever since they partook in the herbs, it was as if every conversation had to lead to Damon.

So, it was best all around that Bonnie didn't mention the texts from him. Plus, she was sure that he would contact his girlfriend soon anyway. He was probably just trying to give Elena the opportunity to miss him more.

As Caroline was talking to the waiter to bring more drinks, Elena continued. "I mean, I know him and Stefan are doing the whole brotherly thing, but I miss him."

Bonnie may have zoned out a bit listening to Elena. Because all in all, she missed Damon too. Although he had been helping her with her vampirism this last month, they really hadn't been able to spend much time together like they used to before.

But, Bonnie wouldn't allow herself to dwell on it, she was glad that Elena was awake and that Damon was reunited with the love of his life earlier than expected. Instead of sixty years of sleep, it only lasted one. And even though they all had eternity now, they were all able to spend this time right now together, and that's all that mattered.

"You and Damon literally live together." Caroline's annoyed voice brought her out of her thoughts as she disregarded something Elena said. She stood up and grabbed the shots from the waiter who walked back over just in time. "You're going to see him tonight. Now, let's make a toast."

The girls stood up from their seats as well.

"To friendship! A great summer! And to Bonnie!"

Bonnie was taken back, "To me?" she slurred. Her own voice caught her off guard.

"I'm just so grateful for you and that we can spend forever together now."

"To Bonnie!" They all three shouted, even though the music was drowning them out.

Shot number one complete.

"And to Elena," Bonnie added, not wanting her to feel left out. And she may have somewhat felt guilty that her boyfriend hadn't contacted her today, yet had sent her several messages.

"For being alive at the same time as us!" Caroline stammered.

Shot number two finished.

"And last but not least, Caroline," Bonnie raised her third shot, "Thanks for being the bestest friend anyone of us could ever ask for."

Third shot down.

As they sat back in their seats, Caroline immediately gained their attention, "Okay, so I know Stefan and I decided to take it slow, but any slower and I feel like we are going to be moving backwards."

Bonnie had a feeling this was coming. Caroline and Stefan had a lot of unresolved sexual tension between them. Everyone could see it.

"Maybe you have to make the first move?" Bonnie's phone vibrated again letting her know she had a new notification.

I miss you- D

Bonnie instantly sat up a little straighter, and her face grew a bit hot.

I think you mean to send that to Elena-B

He didn't text her anymore after that.

"I just want him to grab me, push me against the wall, and screw my brains out. Is that really too much to ask? I mean I'm hot right?"

Before Bonnie could say anything, Caroline beat her to it. "Right?"

"Definitely hot." Bonnie and Elena spoke at the same time, smiling at each other.

"And I'm smart, with a great personality. Anyone would be lucky to have me."

"I would totally date you." Bonnie added.

"See! Bonnie would date me. This is why I love you Bonbear." She leaned her head against her best friend's shoulder. "So, why can't Stefan just eat my pussy already?"

Bonnie laughed and she noticed Elena grow a little uncomfortable. "Stefan's not like that, Caroline. He's not the push you against the wall type. I mean the love making was great with Stefan and the relationship was wonderful, but he's no Damon Salvatore."

Bonnie's eyes widened a bit as she glanced at Caroline, knowing that her friend wouldn't like what was just said.

"I think Stefan could definitely throw you against the wall, Care." Bonnie interjected right before Caroline was about to open her mouth. "He has all those nice muscles, and the way he stares at you when he's not looking. Trust me, when you two stop playing games, the sex is probably going to be mindblowing."

"Before I say something to ruin girls night, I'm going to get another drink." Caroline was out of her seat and at the bar before anything else could be said.

Bonnie sighed, "Did you have to say that?"

"It's the truth Bon… Bon Bon, Bonnieeeeeee B!" Elena giggled at her silliness. "I didn't mean to cause any weirdness. Like I know Stefan and Care have gotten closer, but I've seen the way he still looks at me since I've been back, and sometimes I miss him. I mean, he was my first love."

Yeah, a drunk Elena could be a tad bit self centered. Replace the tad bit with very and that was Elena right now.

"But you love Damon now and he loves you." Bonnie didn't know why saying that made her feel uneasy, but it was beginning to ruin her buzz.

"Yes, I am so in love with Damon. But sometimes I wish I could be with them both." She admitted.

Bonnie's eyes widened.

"But, Damon has my heart and if I had to choose all over again, it would still be Damon every time. He's my everything. He gets me, you know? And did I mention, the sex is mind blowing. Those first few days after waking up were so intense. It was beautiful, Bon…"

"On that note…" Bonnie really didn't want to hear about Elena reminiscing about sex with Damon.

Elena cut her off, as she continued to sway to the music in her seat. "We're supposed to go on this road trip before the summer is over, just him and me. It's going to be sooo romantic." It's as if she were bragging. "You know, I think he's going to propose soon. Has he said anything to you?"

Welp, girls night was officially over, and Bonnie needed blood.

When they made it back to the boardinghouse, Bonnie kept replaying their conversation over and over in her mind. Her skin was crawling from the revelation that Damon was going to propose to Elena, and she didn't know why that information made her feel as if she were starving.

She needed blood bags like yesterday.

When they walked through the front door, it was safe to say that Bonnie was no longer feeling the effects of the alcohol and the magical herbs, but Elena still was as she was smiling from ear to ear, and although Caroline was irritated, she still was as well.

They both handled their inebriation differently.

"If it isn't the three drunk musketeers." Damon made his presence known with Stefan following up behind him as they entered the living room.

"Dammie!" Elena yelled excitedly, as she ran into Damon's arms.

"What the hell is a Dammie?" Caroline snapped, crossing her arms in frustration.

"Looks like someone enjoyed a lot of alcohol." Damon held onto Elena although his eyes were following a certain newbie vamp.

"And magic," Elena giggled into his neck. "Bonnie still had a stash of those magical herbs, and let's just say, we should go upstairs." She was giving her seductive voice, while nibbling on his ear. "I can do that thing you like."

"Are you sure it's not what Stefan likes? I'm sure he misses it."

It didn't take a rocket scientist to know that Caroline used her vampire hearing to listen in on what Elena told Bonnie, while she was getting another drink at the bar.

Nevertheless, It caught both Stefan and Damon off guard, and Bonnie could tell they wanted to elaborate, but she didn't need to be here for it. She was getting irritated herself.

"I'm going to get a few blood bags and then I'm going home." Bonnie was about to walk out of the room, but Damon's voice stopped her.

"What do you mean going home? Last I checked this was your home."

Bonnie made the decision that she was going to move back to her Gram's place just until summer was over and classes started back up at Whitmore. It was a decision she didn't make lightly, but this was the best thing for her right now.

"Maybe you can convince her to stay for the summer, Dammie." Caroline made a face at how stupid the name was. "Which was ultimately the original plan."

Bonnie knew Caroline's attitude was because of Elena, which meant that right now any and everyone was in the crossfire.

"Guys, if Bonnie wants to move out, don't try to change her mind."

Elena may have still been in her intoxicated state, Bonnie didn't miss the rude undertone in her voice.

"No, that's not happening." Damon Salvatore didn't try to hide the anger and annoyance on his face. "If you think you're living somewhere else this summer after everything that happened, think again."

Bonnie wasn't planning on breaking the news to him like this. Well, she was actually just going to move out and if he noticed then they would discuss it. But, she assumed Elena would take the majority of all of his free time, so it would be awhile before he even caught on.

"We can discuss this later." Because she was really hungry, and the news Elena shared to her tonight still wasn't sitting right.

"There doesn't need to be a later. Your room is right upstairs and you're not moving out."

"Newsflash Damon, you're not my daddy. And you have no right to tell me what I can and can not do. I'm moving out, deal with it."

She didn't mean to have an attitude, but she was starving, and there were four delectable looking vampires right in front of her. If she didn't get a blood bag soon, she wasn't sure what would happen.

Bonnie didn't even realize Damon had moved in front of her until her back was against the wall. It didn't hurt her in the slightest and he knew it wouldn't.

"Damon, stop." Elena was sobering up now. "Bonnie is a grown woman, if she doesn't want to stay you can't make her."

Bonnie's eyes found Damon, and she smirked. "You better listen to her, Damon. Let me go, before I hand you your ass on a silver platter."

"Now that's something I would like to see. If you've forgotten I've got a hundred plus years on you, baby."

"Oooh, do it Bonnie." Caroline clapped her hands. "I need a little excitement today."

Elena glared at Caroline, and went to grab Damon's arm, but he turned around and damn near growled at her.

It shocked Elena, Bonnie, and Stefan, while Caroline just laughed.

Everything that happened after that was a blur to Bonnie's eyes. Elena headed upstairs, pissed off. Caroline and Stefan walked towards the kitchen, their lips were moving, but Bonnie couldn't quite hear what they were saying. Even with vampire hearing, they weren't her main focus so it didn't really register.

While Damon's eyes followed his girlfriend make her way upstairs, Bonnie's eyes connected with Damon's neck. The veins appeared instantly around her eyes, and she could practically hear his blood call to her.

He was looking back down at her, instead of running after Elena. But, that wasn't what shocked her, no. Her eyes widened at the fact that Damon leaned closer to her, willing to give her a taste of blood she so desperately needed right now.

It confused her and was entirely too much for her to handle, so she shoved him away from her and was out of the boarding house before anything could be said.

Bonnie ended up in a night club near the outskirts of town.

Was that her intention? Absolutely not. She was originally planning to grab some blood bags from the Salvatore's cellar and then head to her Gram's house. But, instead she ended up running as far as her legs would take her, grateful that the stabbing urge in her chest had dissipated.

Now, she was sitting at the bar, drinking Bourbon and staring at the bartender's neck knowing what she planned to do as soon as he took his break.

She couldn't remember his name, but he wasn't ashamed to flirt with her the moment she sat down. She entertained it because she was extremely hungry.

Bonnie knew she would end up regretting drinking from a human, but as long as she didn't kill him, she could worry about the regret part tomorrow.

As she finished her second glass, he brought her a new one, informing her that he had another twenty minutes until his break.

She waited this long. She could wait a little longer.

"Scotch, neat."

Bonnie immediately froze at the voice that infiltrated her ears. She hadn't seen Klaus since before she chose to transition into a vampire. She also had received a small gift from him the morning after, but he left it on her nightstand in a small box.

Inside it was a daylight ring; two green emeralds in the center to match her eyes, with a note that read: With greatest affection- Nik

Bonnie wasn't going to take it at first, but it beat trying to find a witch to spell her one, especially because she didn't want to communicate with any witches at the moment. It was still too soon.

"What are you doing here?" She shouldn't have looked his way, because her hunger intensified and her stomach did an embarrassing growl that only a supernatural with perfect hearing could detect.

"It's a public place, thought I'd stop in on my way back to New Orleans."

His voice was like literal sin to her ears right now, and she hated it.

"There are other seats, matter of fact, there are other clubs and bars in Mystic Falls you could have gone too, instead of coming here to bother me."

He grabbed his chest, feigning shock.

"Who would I be if I didn't check on someone I sired, knowing that the only thing that can truly satisfy her is the blood of what she is now."

She would have asked him how he found out about her little predicament, but she really didn't care. She just needed him away from her.

As she dropped money on the bar for the drinks she consumed, she stood up to leave, not even bothering to finish her last one, but Klaus grabbed her hand and brought his lips to her ear.

"Has the burn of hunger started to take over if you don't have your fill?"

She didn't answer, proving that he was right.

"With you being fairly new to our world, the blood bags only provide a brief relief, am I right? Humans help some, but I'm sure you are against feeding from the source unless you were truly desperate…" His eyes glanced at the bartender helping a customer. "And vampires…well, I'm sure you also feel some strange guilt to feed from your friends. But, do you want to know what I think?"

Bonnie straightened herself and pulled her hand out of his, "I'm sure you're going to tell me."

"I think the blood of an original…a hybrid, would be able to satisfy your needs until you got your cravings under control."

Bonnie's eyes shot to his. Was he serious?

And by the look he was giving her, he definitely was.

But, she couldn't feed from Klaus. Especially with the way she was feeling right now, she may drain him dry.

He left her there with her thoughts, and it took sixty seconds for her to down the last bit of her bourbon and seek him out. It didn't take her long to locate him in the shadows.

The blood Klaus offered was so intoxicating, and she never wanted to stop. She didn't pull away when his hands gripped onto her hips or when his nose found the crook of her neck, inhaling her in. If anyone were to walk by, they would look like two lovers who couldn't make it home to touch each other.

As she continued to take what he was giving, she began to feel it. The hunger leaving her body; knowing that she wouldn't just be satiated for a few hours, but truly feeling content like she wouldn't go feral if she didn't have blood every hour of every day.

And the moment she felt a light touch from his lips on her neck, Damon instantly popped in her mind for some reason, causing her to retract her fangs and pull back.

Klaus's eyes were very low as he looked at her; staring as if he wanted to ravish every inch of her, and she would never admit how it made her feel.

His fingers then touched her lips in a gentle caress, removing the excess blood that was left behind.

When Klaus bent his head down, Bonnie was sure she was about to be kissed by him. Every instinct was telling her to run, but she couldn't… a part of her didn't want to.

Her eyes may have lingered closed for a millisecond, until his lips touched her ear. "You're more than welcome to come with me to New Orleans, love. I'm sure I could teach you about being a vampire better than your friends. And you could have my blood inside of you anytime you want…. among other things."

Bonnie's eyes widened a bit, and the smirk he gave made her throb between her thighs.

She didn't know how to handle that right now, so she used her vampire speed to leave the club. She stopped once she got further away from the club, and reached for her phone, sending him a quick text.

Thank you.- B

Regardless of how she truly felt about Klaus, he had helped her tonight, and she did have manners.

You know how to reach me when you change your mind.- K

Bonnie blocked his number after that and ran home, not continuously letting the thought pass through her mind that Klaus didn't say "if" but "when."

Bonnie walked through her Gram's house, getting there quicker than she anticipated. Sometimes she still couldn't believe how fast she really was now, but it was one vampire trait she was getting the hang of.

Shutting the door, she leaned back against it and closed her eyes. She was not expecting her day to go like it did. Especially ending it with Klaus's blood down her throat and feeling a little aroused.

Caroline's question earlier about how long it had been since Bonnie had sex, and she could honestly say she didn't remember. She felt like she would have had a one night stand with this guy she met in Europe when she, Damon, and Alaric were visiting, but of course she got cockblocked by a certain blue eyed vampire who got way too possessive over his friends.

But, maybe it was time to spread her wings a bit and try dating again, or maybe even have a one night stand here and there. She did have forever now.

"Did you fuck him?"

Damon's voice caught Bonnie off guard, and she was not only surprised that he was literally standing only a few feet away from her, but also that she didn't pick up that there was someone else in her house besides herself.

"What are you doing here? It's two in the morning."

She didn't move a muscle when he appeared right in front of her.

"Did. you. fuck. him?"

Bonnie tried pushing him away from her, because he was entirely too close, and if she had been human, claustrophobia would have set in. "First of all, you have no right to ask me that, and second of all, what the hell are you doing here?"

Bonnie could practically feel the rage pouring out of Damon, but she could also tell he was trying to calm himself down.

To which he better try real fast because she needed a shower and her bed.

"I had a feeling that when you left you would come here, but to my surprise you were off doing God knows what with Klaus Mikaelson."

"So you decided to, what? Wait here until I came home instead of texting or calling me?"

"No, I decided to take back the few suitcases you already snuck over here, and then wait for you to bring you back to our home."

"Our home? It's not our home."

"It's more our home than it is mine and Stefan's. The only reason why you're not there as often as before is because you decided to do the whole dorm room thing with Caroline, but now that you're out for the summer, you belong there."

"You know that's not the only reason." Because even though she stayed in the dorms with Caroline at Whitmore now, she still used to spend the majority of her weekends and days when she didn't have class at the boarding house. But of course things changed… they had too.

"What other reason is there?"

He really couldn't be that clueless. "Damon, I stopped coming to the boarding house a lot to give you and Elena your alone time now that she's back. You know that's the main reason."

"I never asked you to do that."

"Why wouldn't I? She's your girlfriend, your soulmate." The soon to be fiance' apparently. "You didn't need me there anymore."

A flash of anger crossed his features, as he reached for her shoulders. "Don't ever say I don't need you. I will always need you."

The feeling that coursed through her at his words confused her.

"What I'm saying is, we don't get the chance to hang out as much anymore because I know that you're making up for the last year that Elena's been asleep. And I'm okay with that."

The way he was looking at her was as if she had slapped him.

"After everything we've been through, you want to move out? Especially now…you want to leave?

There was a look in his eyes that almost seemed as if he were scared.

She touched his arm gently, hoping to provide comfort, "Damon, I'm going to be okay, plus I don't live far, and I'll most likely be at the boarding house during the majority of the day anyways. You won't have to worry."

Needless to say Bonnie was now sitting in Damon's Camaro as he drove them back home. She really wasn't in the mood to go back and forth about her living arrangements, so she'd give him one more night of her being there.

"So, are you going to tell me why you smell like the hybrid, or am I going to have to kill him, you, and then probably myself."

Bonnie couldn't help but laugh at how absurd he sounded. "You're crazy."

"Just please tell me you didn't fuck him."

"Gosh, will you please stop saying that!"

She looked over at him and watched as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

"If I had, which I didn't, it's really none of your business."

They stayed silent for a while, both consumed with their own thoughts, until Bonnie just had to know something.

"Why does it matter so much if I had slept with him?"

He didn't answer right away, but when he finally did, she could hear the sentiment in his voice.

"You deserve way better than Klaus, Bonnie."

She stared at him for a moment not wanting to look away. She knew Damon cared for her and had her best interests at heart, but there was something else she couldn't quite put her finger on, so she decided to make light of the situation.

"Well, regardless if it's Klaus, or some guy in Europe, or just someone that comes along, you do know that eternity is a very long time, and I'm going to have to dust myself off for someone."

Great, now she just implied to Damon Salvatore that her vagina had cobwebs.

"Can we talk about something else." He groaned.

"What?" she smirked, "How many times did Alaric and I have to hear about your sexcapades while we were backpacking through Amsterdam. Literally every area there had you reminiscing and sharing with us."

"Sexcapades, really?" Did she finally get Damon to crack a smile tonight? "Plus, it makes me go crazy wanting to kill every guy that you think about in that way, knowing that no one will ever be good enough for you." He admitted.

Bonnie really didn't know what to say after that so she kept her mouth shut.

She was grateful that they finally arrived because it was probably best if she put some space between them right now.

As she was about to get out, he softly grabbed her hand, causing her to turn around and face him.

"This is your home, Bonnie. It's been your home with me since the prison world, and you leaving makes it feel empty." He pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I know it's only until you start classes back, but until then can you just do me this favor and stay."

The desperation in his voice made Bonnie feel an ache in her heart.

"Okay, Damon… I'll stay."

She was out of the car and in her room in no time, needing a bit of distance between them.

As she said before, today really hadn't gone as expected.

A/N: Thank you so much for reading! As you can tell Bonnie has her hands full, and although this chapter was more so in her POV, you'll get to see some of Damon's POV in the beginning of the next chapter, before I get back to making them flow together if that makes sense.

Side note: Bonnie's speech in the flashback about moving in slow motion was from Grey's Anatomy.

Even though this fic is going to continue to have drama and angst, I really just want to have fun with it, and give it a bit of everything now that I'm back.

Again, thank you for reading and please leave a review if you can.
